Number 22
Piper is in a happy mood as she makes her way to join her family in the summer room - a text from Tyler wishing her a happy birthday. That happy mood disappears though when it appears Terese and Paige have forgotten her birthday but from the sly looks they were exchanging, they haven't forgotten and are simply winding Piper up!

Harold's café
Hamish asks David how Louise is doing (still unconscious but breathing on her own) as they pass one another in the café. He is also happy to hear that Tyler is planning on joining him in Queensland but is less so when Tyler adds that it will be after Piper's exams as she wants him around during them.

Tyler leaves with the food bought for Piper's birthday brunch (to which Hamish is invited to) as Hamish is picking up the bill - and he places Louise's credit card down on the counter.

Meanwhile Amy, Leo and David sit and discuss Courtney and in particular what she said to Leo and what it really was meant to have meant. Neither can agree and also can't agree on whether it's the real deal too between Courtney and Paul.

Rotunda
Albeit a bit late, but at least he remembered, Tyler hands over his pressie to Piper for her 18th. She's still peeved at her family forgetting again but at least she is happy with the pressie from him - a retro typewriter keyboard. As she hugs him for the pressie, she spots a familiar face in the complex - T-Bone!

The Waterhole
Terese hesitantly approaches Sheila (she's sitting with Gary) to see why she hasn't RSVP'd to going to Piper's surprise 18th brunch. She extends the invite to Gary too but he turns it down but asks that she passes on his birthday wishes to her. He can't leave quick enough and turns out that Sheila (and Xanthe) are planning on attending the brunch, she just didn't RSVP.

SHEILA: Us Canning's always to the right thing.

Lassiters Complex
Tyler leads an eyes closed Piper through the complex to where her birthday bash is being held. She looks very relieved to see her family haven't forgotten her big day when she's told to open her eyes as she goes over to her mum and Paige for proper birthday hugs and wishes.

"It's real, I'm legal and I'm not afraid to use it," Piper declares as she makes her way to The Waterhole to buy the bubbles for her birthday as Tyler forgot to pick some up for the birthday brunch.

(Later)

"I thought I saw you before," Piper tells T-Bone or Terrence as he is now known by (he got sick of the dumb nickname) when they run into each other as Piper is leaving The Waterhole. He apologises for his behaviour when he was last in town and she, in turn, apologises for Tyler hitting him. She asks why he is back and he explains he's here for an interview (for a graphic design course) after hearing about it in Canberra. She can't get away quickly enough to re-join the celebrations, but Terrence doesn't let her leave without giving her a hug, witnessed of course by someone - Hamish.

(Later)

The bubbles are in full flow and Piper bluffs her response when Tyler enquired why she took so long. "Go and come back, it's a whole less painful than ignoring him," Piper tells her mum when she gets a text from Paul demanding some paperwork from her.

Xanthe has Piper occupied on pressie duties which thankfully means she doesn't see that Tyler has spotted Terrence at the other side of the complex and makes his way over to him. "What are you doing here?!" Tyler greets him with and the antagonism between them is extremely high especially when Terrence can't but let Tyler know that not just already seen Piper and that she apologised for the punch too.

TERRENCE: She's a keeper that girl... if you can.

"See you around," is his parting words to Tyler before walking away and Hamish has picked up the distain between the guys as he observed them engaging in conversation.

Penthouse suite
Leo watches from the sidelines as Courtney suggests a few business ideas to Paul for the hotel before Terese joins them. Paul isn't too amused at how long it took Terese to arrive with the paperwork and equally she doesn't look too amused at effectively being dismissed like a servant after handing over the said paperwork.

Lassiters Complex
Sheila is enjoying being waited on by Hamish before he makes his way over to the returned Terese to compliment her on the party. In turn, she thanks him for paying for the food but then denies Hamish's suggestion that Tyler is hindering Piper in her studying, in fact she compliments Tyler for the great support he is giving. Hamish makes his displeasure at what he sees is Tyler putting his life on hold for Piper known especially as he can't sit the exams for the lass. He suggests they should also have some individual interests too, which she actually agrees with him on, although given thinks stability is better for Piper just now.

Tyler doesn't look too impressed at Mark turning up (albeit briefly) at Piper's party brunch but at least has time to hand over a pressie before leaving seconds before speech time. Thankfully it's just the one and Terese begins by praising her daughter before adding that she can't wait to see the things she accomplishes in her life.

Tyler still has a face like thunder on him when Piper comes over to thank him for his help in getting the party organised. She can't but pick up on the mood he is in and eventually explains why - he saw T-Bone and isn't impressed she kept quiet that she'd seen him. Piper explains she didn't want to make it a big deal. The pair start arguing over Terrence turning up and the apology before Hamish puts an end to it by asking if Tyler will help him get more drinks.

Penthouse suite
With work completed, Courtney heads off shopping with Paul's credit card in tow, to allow Leo a chance to finally quiz his dad. "Are you only there to stick it to Terese?" Leo asks after noticing the change of behaviour when Terese was in the suite to when she wasn't. "Courtney makes me happy," Paul tells his lad and its Terese's problem if she can't handle what she sees.

LEO: You might be committed to this relationship but I'm not sure Courtney is. Even if you genuinely want to be with her, I still think you need to protect yourself.
PAUL: I don't know what's worse, you thinking that I can be taken advantage of or your low opinion of my fiancé?

Paul is taken aback by Leo suggesting he should get a pre-nup and puts Leo thinking that she hit on him as simple "flirting."

PAUL: You just took it the wrong way.
LEO: No I didn't.
PAUL: Leo, I trust Courtney and you better get used to that because she is going to be in my life whether you like it or not.

Harold's café
Tyler is explaining to his dad what T-Bone is like and agrees with his interpretation that T-Bone is an "arrogant jerk." Hamish can't understand why Piper can't see through T-Bone and Tyler explains why Piper likes guys like T-Bone - because they are well travelled and have similar goes to herself, thus she thinks he won't push himself in the same way. "You don't know that's how she feels?" Hamish remarks but Tyler does, it was in one of the videos that got hacked. Hamish twists it around to try and tell Tyler that it's him that is being held back but Tyler has it in his head that Piper simply sees him "as a stupid meathead."

Lassiters Complex
"You were that bad?!" Xanthe jokes with Ben after he is telling her (and Piper) about what happened at the Diwali celebrations. She then accidentally (but equally deliberately) misses the bowl when filling it up with crisps so that some go over Ben! "Some things never change," he comments before walking away leaving Xanthe to wonder where Tyler is. Piper tells her about T-Bone turning up and Tyler not taking it well when he found out. "I'm sure he'll calm down," Xanthe reassures her with as Gary stops by to give Piper her pressie (it was already bought before what happened).

Penthouse suite
"Don't think we're getting a little bit ahead of ourselves?!" Paul comments when Courtney is making suggestions on how their wedding should be. She's even suggesting a January wedding but that's met with silence and her wonder if he is having second thoughts. Paul replies "no" but then brings up why he went silent - that Leo thought she'd hit on him.

COURTNEY: He caught me while I was vulnerable and I reacted the way I always do.

"Aren't you happy?" Paul asks and she replies that she's "never been happier," and describes what happened with Leo as "stupid."

COURTNEY: No-one's ever given me or treated me the way you have. I won't stuff it up, I promise.
PAUL: Good, because you know how badly I've been hurt in the past, how humiliated I've been. I don't want to go through that again.
COURTNEY: Same goes double for me. I'm not going anywhere, I promise.
PAUL: Thank you.

The Waterhole
The Tanaka brothers are finishing lunch when Courtney arrives wanting to clear things up with Leo because Paul is upset. David doesn't look impressed at Leo saying something to Paul as Courtney apologises to Leo that "flirty is my default and I crossed the line." "Did he put you up to this or is it coming from you?!" Leo asks and Courtney thinks it's a fair question and confirms that it's coming from her - she doesn't want things coming between Paul and herself.

COURTNEY: We're both really happy.
LEO: So you're fully committed to him?
COURTNEY: A 110%.
LEO: Him? Not his money?

That remark causes David to tell his brother to "let it go," as Courtney confirms that it is Paul she wants and has no problem with signing a pre-nup when Leo put that suggestion to her. She leaves and David isn't impressed at his brother talking to Paul and points out that it is none of his business when Leo tried to describe how thing were. "I'm looking out for him," is Leo's line but David fears that given how long it took them to connect, if Leo continues to push it, then he may damage his relationship with Paul.

Backpackers
"Do I know you?" Terrence remarks when Hamish calls out his name after entering the backpackers. "We have mutual acquaintances and interests," Hamish replies after introducing himself and tempts the lad into providing him with funds for his travels in return for some work.

TERRENCE: So what type of work exactly is it?
HAMISH: It involves Piper Willis.
