- Paige finding out why Lauren/Kathy aren't talking.
- Paige trying to acquaint herself with Kathy.
- Kathy telling Paige about the medication she's taking for her heart.
- Sheila pointing out to Naomi that what she did wasn't right.
Toadie runs into his old PA as he lets the candidates to be his new PA into his office after apologising for being late. Naomi tells him about her new job even if it is a bit of a comedown but he reassures her that she'll be climbing up the ladder soon enough.
Paige spots Kathy taking more of her heart meds and enquires after her. Kathy assures her that she is okay and no, she doesn't want Lauren to know but their conversation is curtailed when Naomi comes in ready to start work for her new boss and is told she's heading to Queensland to see one of her existing stores!
Toadie reports to Susan that none of the applicants were suitable before they start chatting about the hunt for E.M. Williams. Susan informs him that she's dropping her hunt because she's got actual work do to, which puzzles Toadie tremendously... for a few seconds until he has a lightbulb moment!
"Its Karl," Toadie greets his wife with but she doesn't believe him however he explains that he's figured it out.
TOADIE: He's used his kid's initials okay. E is for Elizabeth, M for Malcolm, Billy is William. Karl is E.M. Williams!
He's over the moon to have worked it out and even after telling Sonya how Susan acted, she still doesn't believe him.
Susan meets her husband and tells him that nobody knows it's him and is enjoying tremendously being in on the secret. She is curious why he's starting to write at his age, so he explains it was to help his patients get in touch with their sensual side... and the $200 cash prize!
SUSAN: See, I knew there had to be money involved!
KARL: It was very satisfying as well, especially now it's become so popular.
SUSAN: It's addictive!
Susan then asks if he is going to be writing more and when he gives a less than positive response is firmly told that he will be writing more!
Naomi is surprised to see Paige home and she lies about forgetting her jacket. She then subtly tries to find out where Kathy is flying off to (she mentioned in Harold's that she wouldn't be accompanying Naomi to Queensland) but all it does is cause Naomi to tell her that there isn't a position for her. Eventually, Naomi confronts her housemate over what she is doing as she thinks Paige is muscling in on her chance of redemption and inadvertently Paige blurts out that it's about her mum too! Naomi is immediately curious as to what the outburst meant, despite Paige wanting to forget she said anything at all, but urges her to tell.
Commercial break later and Paige is desperately trying to backtrack over what she said but eventually explains that Lauren has become like a mum to her (especially since her own mum has become so distant) and wants to warn Lauren about Kathy resuming the hunt for Lily because she knows Lauren doesn't want that to happen. Naomi buys it and even admits that it's something she would do too! They then start chatting about Lily and how a reunion with Lauren (and Brad/Terese/the others) would go down.
PAIGE: Think of the worst case scenario, she's completely dishonest, tells lies and then they reject her.
PAIGE: Anyway that's where I'm at now so can you please just chill out and not say anything to Kathy?
NAMOI: Fair enough as long as you don't stand in my way in becoming the future Victorian head of her homewares empire!
PAIGE: I won't!
With the deal between them set, Naomi suggests a starting point for Paige would be Kathy's private notebook.
Kathy finishes a chat with her PI and lies to Lauren about the call when they run into each other as Lauren is sorting out the flowers. She subtly mentions about chatting to Brad/the visit to Adelaide and that he is still keen on finding Lily. Lauren admits that while they both would love to meet Lily, they just don't want to go through the process.
Sheila and Kathy exchange pleasantries before Kathy goes inside and Sheila admits to Lauren that the job her mum has given her daughter is "the most grown up sensible thing I've ever seen her do in ages." Lauren asks if that's a subtle way of saying she is proud of her daughter?!
SHEILA: Yes I am... very!
Toadie is still trying to figure out why Susan has given up on their bet and just as she's about to walk away, tells her that he's figured it out. "Oh really?" she nonchalantly asks and is told it's the man she's sleeping with! She does a good job of trying to persuade Toadie that he is wrong but fails and is forced to confirm Karl when he starts to blackmail her by threatening to tell everyone beginning with Sheila!
SUSAN: It's Karl but you mustn't say anything to Sheila.
Toadie is delirious he's worked it out and his price to stay quiet is Susan babysitting Nell whenever it's required!
Naomi confirms to her mum that everything is going well with Kathy and both admit that they are glad she is staying on in Erinsborough longer.
Terese seems surprised at Kathy agreeing straight away to the proposed rental price for the shop at the complex and refuses to chat about anything else when she tries to engage her in conversation. Kathy doesn't give up easily and asks if Lily is found, will she accept her? With Paige overhearing, Terese replies "I don't know." With the deal agreed, Kathy heads to the counter to settle her tab before meeting Terese in her office, and with her back turned to where she's left her bag; Paige quickly goes over and takes from it her personal notebook.
Kathy is in buying a bottle to celebrate singing the lease from Sheila and while trying to butter up Naomi's new boss, does the exact opposite - making it look like Naomi is ready to leave any minute after being headhunted.
Terese admits to Lauren that she's surprised at her being comfortable having her mum around but she's quick to reply that she's not moving down just expanding her business. Before she leaves, Terese asks if they are all good and is told yes.
With the erotic author now confirmed, Sonya is trying to wish she'd never read it... and doesn't want to take advantage of Susan baby sitting so they can go away for the weekend, instead preferring a pizza and a special DVD!
Paige is taking pictures of everything in Kathy's personal notebook when Naomi comes home but quickly hides it when someone calls by - it's Kathy! Naomi congratulates her boss on signing the lease and keeps her busy to allow Paige to put the notebook back in Kathy's bag. Sheila's conversation with Kathy earlier has backfired and she thinks that Naomi is vastly over qualified and is letting her go.
Naomi comes into the bar irate at her mother ruining things for her again. Sheila is oblivious initially and after Naomi explains wants to have a word with Kathy to explain it but Naomi says it's too late, she's lost the job now thanks to her.
NAMOI: When are you going to learn to keep your big mouth shut?!
Paige is reading the contents of what was in Kathy's notebook - things to do with Lily. Over at the other side of the bar, Sheila approaches Kathy after she comes off the phone to discuss Naomi but is firmly told to go away, she's not discussing that right now.
Paige then wonders over to where Kathy is sitting and asks if something has happened and Kathy replies that she no longer has to go interstate but refuses to say who she was talking to. "Has this anything to do with Lauren's missing daughter?" Paige asks and is politely told to butt out, its personal family business.
PAIGE: Something's happened hasn't it? Let me help, maybe I can help... with Lauren.
KATHY: (looking very shocked) Perhaps. The private investigator has found my granddaughter.
