Chris is raving about how pleased Amber was with her birthday party and the present he bought her, but is shocked when Sheila suggests there was more to it.
SHEILA: I saw the way she kissed you.
CHRIS: Oh, that? No, we're just mates!
SHEILA: Last time I checked, mates don't lock lips with mates.
Chris reminds Sheila there's a major reason Amber wouldn't develop feelings for him (his sexuality) - but Sheila says many wiser women than Amber have been caught out on that one. Chris insists Sheila's wrong.
SHEILA: Fine. If it makes you happy, you keep that thought. But for your own good luck and happiness, I really hope that you can read men better than you read women.
Chris looks worried.
Lucas and Vanessa's Flat
Vanessa is thumbing through a wedding magazine, but she quickly thrusts it behind the sofa when Lucas comes in from putting Patrick to bed. He sees she has a calendar too and, finding the magazine, quickly realises she's thinking about dates for the wedding. Vanessa comes clean; Lucas reminds her they were going to wait until after his radiotherapy to get married, but Vanessa really wants a spring wedding.
Lucas says he'd rather whisk her away to a tropical island and marry her in private, but Vanessa wants her family and friends at her wedding. Lucas says they can do whatever makes her happy, even if he has to wear a gorilla suit in a snowstorm, and they start kissing.

The next day, Karl comes out of his room to find Steph already up and going. He wants to have a chat with her, as he's worried about her. Steph thanks him for his concern but insists she's fine - she has to go to meet Lucas.
STEPH: Is that a problem?
KARL: You tell me.
STEPH: I don't know what you mean by that.
KARL: You're spending an awful lot of time with him.
STEPH: Yeah, because he's an old mate.
KARL: No, he's more than that. He's also Adam's uncle.
STEPH: Why do you bring him into it?
Karl is worried Steph is trying to distract herself because she misses Adam so much, and also Charlie - but she doesn't want to talk about him. Karl wants to know why not.
STEPH: Because he's gone! Charlie's gone, and there's nothing I can do about it.
Karl admits he spoke to Lyn last night, who told him that Max brought Charlie to see her while she was in jail.
STEPH: Did she tell you how he freaked out that last time he saw me? He screamed - it was like he was scared of me. Like I was some sort of monster.
KARL: He's just young. He wouldn't understand.
STEPH: No, he wouldn't come near me. He just ran back to Max and begged him to take him home.
Steph tearfully tells Karl that she wanted to fight Max's bid for full custody, but she'd already hurt Charlie so much that she decided to let him go. Sympathetically, Karl remarks that it must be hard being back in Erinsborough because of all the memories - but she says at least here she gets to be around people she loves, and who love her.
KARL: As long as you know that.
Fitzgerald Motors
Steph turns up to cover for Lucas, who needs to look after Patrick while Vanessa's working. Lucas heads off, and Steph goes over to help Chris with a spark plug he's struggling to pull out.
CHRIS: I think it probably needs a bit of a guy's touch, though?
Steph has the offending part removed in seconds.
CHRIS: That's not embarrassing.
STEPH: Sometimes it's just about a bit of gentle persuasion, rather than brute force.
CHRIS: I'll keep that in mind.
A customer, Seamus, comes in asking for them to take a look at his car, and sparks immediately appear to fly between him and Chris. Noticing, Steph volunteers Chris to take care of it, and the pair head outside. While they're gone, Steph casually flicks through the naughty biking magazine, and is shocked to come across the nude picture of Vanessa.
Lassiter's Lake
Georgia, Kyle and Amber discuss their next move regarding how to find Lachie's drugs stash. Amber suggests breaking into his house, but Georgia isn't going there and says enough is enough - they're not going be able to prove Lachie has done anything wrong. Amber has another idea though, and suggests they set up a sting operation.
Erinsborough High
Amber accosts Lachie in the corridor, and asks him if he could hook her up with some drugs. At first he denies all knowledge...
Harold's Store
Kyle is munching on a sandwich. Georgia asks how he can eat - he says it gives him something to do.
Erinsborough High
Amber persists with Lachie, using what's been happening with her family as a reason for her needing the drugs - she just wants to feel better.
Harold's Store
Georgia is worried that they haven't heard from Amber yet. Kyle tells her not to worry; he says Amber knows what she's doing, and that she must have picked up tips from Matt being a cop.
Erinsborough High
Matt being a cop is precisely why Lachie tells Amber he can't sell her any drugs, but Amber tells him her dad's been suspended, and is 'as dodgy as it gets'! She offers to pay triple, insisting she's desperate.
Harold's Store / Erinsborough High
Kyle takes a call from Amber. Lachie's taken the bait and has gone home to pick up the drugs, so he can give them to her at the lake during recess. Kyle says it's time to call the cops, but Amber says there's no way Lachie will stick around if he sees the police - and hangs up. Worried, Kyle and Georgia rush off towards the lake.
Lassiter's Lake
Kyle and Georgia watch from the bushes as Amber waits in the gazebo for Lachie. He eventually shows up, but seems unwilling to talk about the drugs out in the open, asking Amber to come with him. Kyle bursts out of the bushes to confront Lachie, and tries to snatch his bag.
During the argument, Senior Constable Kelly Merolli arrives on the scene. Lachie quickly accuses Kyle of attacking him and trying to steal his bag, while Kyle claims Lachie is selling medication to schoolkids. Kelly checks Lachie's bag, but finds nothing but books - and Lachie tells her he wishes to make a complaint about Kyle's assault and harassment of him.
Harold's Store
Amber and Chris discuss the situation - Kyle and Georgia have been at the police station for ages. Amber feels bad and says she should be there too, but Chris tells her there's no point Amber getting further involved. Amber says Georgia is Chris's friend, so she wanted to help.
CHRIS: Did you do this because of me?
AMBER: No, of course not. I would have done it anyway - I mean, she's my friend too...
Chris asks her about the kiss Amber gave him 'in the facial region' after the party, and explains Sheila thinks it meant something more. Amber laughs it off, saying she knows Chris is gay, and that Sheila has an overactive imagination. Relieved that things aren't going to be awkward, Chris goes to get some milkshakes - but Amber looks sheepish.
Erinsborough Police Station
Kyle, Georgia and Lachie are in the waiting room; Kelly tells Lachie that his mother is on her way. Kyle tells Georgia that she doesn't have to stick around, but she replies it's the least she can do - it isn't like she has a job to go back to.
Harold's Store
Karl is practicing his golf swing, when Lucas comes in with Patrick. While Vanessa takes Patrick into the back, Karl asks Lucas if Steph has mentioned Adam at all; Lucas admits not. Karl thinks it's strange that, given Lucas is Adam's uncle, Steph has never asked him how he is. Lucas presumed it was too painful, but Karl says he thinks Steph is struggling, and Lucas promises to look into it.

Steph deploys The Search Engine™ to look up Ristos Hanas, the photographer behind Vanessa's saucy photos. She begins emailing him, claiming to be an old friend of Vanessa's - but is interrupted by Karl coming in. He apologises for being pushy earlier, saying it's only because he cares about her. Having retrieved his wallet, he leaves again, and Steph goes back to her message. She asks Ristos if he could send through any contact details for Vanessa, as she wants to get in touch with her. She signs the message 'Wendy Dale', and sends it.
Erinsborough Police Station
Lachie's mother arrives, asking him if he's okay. Kelly is still trying to work out who's at fault, but Georgia quickly recognises the mother as her work colleague, Tina Maroon. Kelly explains that Lachie has been accused of selling prescription drugs. Georgia demands to know if Tina knows anything about it, but Tina denies it.
GEORGIA: You're always going on about your bad back! I can't believe that I didn't think about this earlier.
In a super- sleuth moment, Georgia realises Tina is the one who stole the medication. And she would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for her pesky kid, who stole it from her and started selling it. In the wake of this Holmesian- calibre deduction, the Maroons' silence speaks volumes.

Amber turns up, to find a topless Chris ironing. She tells him the good news about Georgia being off the hook (Tina having presumably admitted everything), but Kyle has already called him to let him know. Sheila comes in.
SHEILA: Oh, that's good news about Georgia!
AMBER: Yeah it is.
SHEILA: And so nice of you to make the effort to pop in, when you could have just texted!
Amber's smile drops. Chris puts on his shirt, and asks whether Amber prefers the one he's wearing, or another one he's ironed. Sheila explains Chris has a date (with Seamus, the customer from the garage). Amber tries her best to look happy for Chris, but Sheila can tell she isn't. Amber recommends he wear the other shirt, forcing him to take off his current one again - which gets her a little hot and bothered! Amber makes an excuse and leaves, looking heartbroken.

Amber arrives home, and opens the birthday card Chris gave her with her present. "To my gorgeous girl. Thank you for coming into my life. Love, Chris xx." What?! No wonder she's confused, poor dear; they've been friends for what - three weeks?! Amber starts crying; unrequited love is tough.
Lassiter's Lake
Georgia takes a call from the hospital; they want her back at work tomorrow. Kyle's really pleased for her - we learn Tina has been charged for taking the medication, and that Kyle has been let off with a warning. Georgia thanks Kyle for not giving up on her, even after she tried to push him away and make him take things slowly. Kyle tells her she's too good a nurse for Erinsborough to lose - and that he also might like her, just a bit. They kiss passionately, while Bossy tries to lick them.

Having set up a fake email account in the name of Wendy Dale, Steph receives an email from the photographer, Ristos Hanas. It says: "Sorry - I only knew Vanessa through her ex- husband, Alek Pocoli. I no longer have his contact details." So it appears Vanessa has been married before; and Steph seems rather pleased at having dug up this dirt.
