Previously on Neighbours
- Lucy tells Paul that she knows about the bribery and corruption charges, and she's here to sort him out personally and professionally.
- Georgia is fired for stealing prescription medication.
- Kyle wants thinks to move fast with Georgia, but she wants their relationship to go slowly.
- Amber cancels her birthday party.
Paul tells Lucy it's nice to see her, but her presence isn't necessary. Lucy's carrying out internal reviews of all the major franchises. The Hotel Manager, Tony, welcomes Lucy back to Lassiters and congratulates her on her new job. Tony leaves to book Lucy a suite. Lucy tells Paul that she's going to start looking at the status report on the apartment project, then she'll go through the hotel department by department. But first, there's someone she's dying to meet.
Kate and Lucy are sitting at a table together, both saying how great it is to finally meet. Lucy looks over and sees Lauren working behind the counter and walks over to greet her. They hug, surprised to see each other back in Erinsborough. They suggest having a catch up later.
Lucy rejoins Kate. She asks if Kate and Paul are having a rough time at the moment. Kate says Paul doesn't approve of her boyfriend; Lucy notes it's just like Andrew and Tash all over again. Kate tells Lucy about Mason. Lucy says she should stop worrying about what Paul wants and do what's right for her. Lucy gets a phone call and has to leave.
Lucy is on the phone when she drops a folder. Mason kindly picks it up for her before she continues on her way. Chris approaches Mason and asks why he quit his job, Lucas is happy to have him back. Chris admits he doesn't really like Mason, but he likes Amber and he knows Mason did what he did for her. Mason thanks Chris. When Chris asks if he'll see Mason at Amber's party, Mason tells him that it has been cancelled.
Number 32 (Back Yard)
Chris and Amber are sitting by the Turner family's fancy new pool, with Matt, Lauren and Lou in the background. Amber doesn't want a party, as everyone thinks they're criminals. Sheila keeps looking at her as if she's worried Amber will steal her handbag. Chris says the ones who show up to her party will be the ones who want to celebrate. Amber thanks Chris but she doesn't want a party.
Kate fills Lucy in on Mason's robbery. Paul says that it isn't Mason's first offence either. He then points Mason out when he enters the bar. Lucy is surprised to see him, as she bumped into him earlier and he was every bit of a gentleman. Lucy says she can't give her blessing, but reminds Paul that Mason isn't the only one facing charges at the moment. Kate tells Paul that she's not going to stop seeing Mason so she thinks she needs to move out. Kate leaves to join Mason. Lucy tells Paul off for his behaviour towards Kate, and the corruption charges. Paul assures Lucy there's nothing to them. Lucy tells Paul to get the status report finished.
Sheila reminds Kyle he should be writing an ad for the new housemate, but he's too worried about Georgia's work situation, Georgia won't talk to him about it. Sheila tells him to get back to writing the ad.
KYLE: Housemate wanted for broad minded household
KYLE: Code for gay person lives here. Must be employed.
SHEILA: Female preferred.
KYLE: You and Rhiannon didn't hit it off. I'm pretty sure she was a female.
SHEILA: We got along eventually and at least she knew how to put the toilet seat down.
Chris arrives and invites them to a surprise party for Amber. Sheila won't go as she thinks the family are trouble.
CHRIS: Well regardless of what you think of Mason, you're punishing the whole family when you should be supporting them. Come on, isn't that what neighbours are for?
Kyle agrees, and leaves to support his neighbours.
Karl greets Kyle and Bossy as they enter his house. Karl says that he believes Georgia is innocent too but doesn't know what else they can do. Kyle wants to prove that someone else stole the medication. Karl said there would be value for prescription medication on the black market, which means whoever did it, could be selling.
Number 32 (Back Yard)
A large group of people are in the back garden for Amber's party. Kyle tells Chris that the medication which was stolen is popular with school students, and suggests Amber ask some of her friends if anyone knows anything. He suggests Chris ask since he's friends with Amber, Chris is happy to if it help Georgia. Kate arrives and asks how the hunt for a new housemate is going as she's interested. Kyle and Chris offer her the room and she accepts.
Cassie rushes through telling them that Amber's coming. Everyone hides around the side of the house, while Chris sits beside the pool. Amber comes out and sits beside Chris. Chris gives her a bracelet as a birthday gift, she loves it. She thanks him and kisses his cheek. He and the crowd of people shout Happy Birthday to her. She and Chris then jump into the pool.
Mason arrives late and joins Kate in the kitchen. Kate tells Mason that she's moving in with Kyle and Chris. Mason kisses Kate, then leaves to get changed. Georgia joins Kate, pleased that Kate's life is on track.
Number 32 (Back Yard)
Kyle says hi to Georgia, she apologises that she hasn't spoken to him recently, she's been meaning to. Kyle says it's alright, but when he starts to chat to her about who might have stolen the pills, Georgia says she's getting chilly and leaves.
Amber tells Kyle that she's spoken to Cassie and she reckons there is a kid at school selling prescription medication, and wonders if there is a connection to Georgia.
Paul asks Tony, the hotel manager, about his new baby, and his mortgage. He says it must be difficult living on one income in this day and age. Paul offers Tony a nice cash bonus, if Tony were to say the police that he witnessed Alan Hewitt trying to extort money from him. Tony questions Paul on why he would have paid Alan off from a Lassiters account, Paul says it was for renovations to his house as he has to do a lot of work from home, a lot of entertaining clients. Tony is about to walk off when Paul stops him, Lassiters Worldwide does not need any bad PR. Tony doesn't want for both of them to lie to the police, but Paul says he will make it worth his while.
Lou, Matt and Lauren are chatting about Bailey, they hope his black eye will clear before his interview with the police, but Lauren can't believe Bailey got into a fight. Lou thinks black eyes are a rite of passage. Karl and Sheila arrive with presents. Sheila is nervous, and goes a bit over the top saying how
LAUREN: To be honest I didn't think anyone would come.
LOU: Lauren's convinced people will think of us as the bad eggs of the neighbourhood
SHEILA: Well SOME people may have jumped to some early conclusions, but I think you'll find that once they calm down then we'll.... they'll see some sense.
Lauren thanks Sheila, and they all drink some champagne.
Number 32 (Back Yard)
Kyle and Cassie are chatting at the pool. Cassie says this guy keeps the medication in his locker ready to go. Kyle wonders if Cassie would tell the police this, Cassie says she's happy to help Amber but she doesn't want to get involved. Kyle swims over to Kate and wants a favour.
Kyle and Kate walk through the corridors of the school at night. Kate thinks this is an invasion of this pupils' privacy. Kate says she could lose her job for searching a pupil's locker without permission. She hands Kyle the key and they open the pupils' locker, searching through it but not finding anything in there.
Lucy questions Paul on the company's finances. She knows $10,000 was paid on the day Alan Hewitt was bribed, and she knows $5,000 was withdrawn today.
PAUL: Well I had another legitimate transaction.
LUCY: If you call trying to bribe your own Hotel Manager to support your story legitimate, then yes I suppose it is.
PAUL: Do you want the Lassiter's name saved, or not?
Lucy brings up the Elaine Lawson settlement as well, and he wouldn't have had to make that settlement if he'd done things properly. Lucy says this has to stop, she's cleaning house, starting with Tony. She can't work with someone who can be so easily bought off. She won't sack him, she'll find him a position in this company so he can never speak of this again. She'll need to find a new hotel manager herself, someone who can put this place in order.
LUCY: As head of this company I'm telling you there's a lot of work to be done if you want to stay in this chain.
PAUL: You would honestly kick us out?
LUCY: This isn't a five star operation. I cannot believe that head office has not stepped in sooner.
PAUL: Wow, so much for family loyalty.
LUCY: It's because I'm your sister, it's the reason I'm doing this, okay. And it's also the reason I'll use all my resources to get the application approved by council.
PAUL: You'd do that?
LUCY: I would. But there's one condition, from now on what I say goes. Okay?
Chris asks Sheila if she's cool with Kate moving in.
SHEILA: I love it! Finally, some civilised company around the place. I always liked Kate.
CHRIS: Yeah, I remember when you tried to set her up with Kyle.
SHEILA: Yeah, not one of my best ideas, I must admit.
CHRIS: Well you won't be able to matchmake for Kyle or Kate now that they both have partners. What will you do with your spare time?
SHEILA: Easy, I'm going to find you a fabulous spunk!
Sheila heads outside, while Amber comes through. She thanks Chris for being amazing, and for her present.
CHRIS: Well I do have amazing taste, especially in friends.
AMBER: Thank you, it's been the most incredible day.
CHRIS: Well you are the most incredible person. Happy Birthday
Amber hugs Chris, and then kisses him on the lips, just as Sheila sees. Chris, thinking nothing of it, says he'll see her tomorrow. Amber sits down, beaming with joy from the kiss.
