Declan discovering Harry's been abused.
Lou refusing to hand Harry over to the police.
Ramsay Street/Number 24
Callum and Sophie are trying to spy on Const. Page as she chats with HQ on the police radio.
Meanwhile inside #24 Lou is explaining his stance to Toadie but he thinks things are going to get out of hand, which Kate agrees with too.
Callum reports that Const. Page is on her way back to the house and inside there is a disagreement over what to do (keep Harry or let him go back). Lou asks Toadie to answer the door because he's got a plan and doesn't want to get Toadie involved.
As instructed, Toadie answers the door to Const. Page and finds that Harry isn't home. She threatens to treat the situation as a kidnapping if they don't cooperate but everyone keeps quiet and when she pushes Kate, Kate replies that Harry is probably at Harold's having a milkshake.
Number 28
Susan and Karl are babysitting Ben when Harry and Callum come rushing in through the back door after their help - they want to hide there from the police. Harry explains why he's on the run and that Lou has (at his request) kidnapped him. Susan (after a "look" at the protesting Karl) says that he can stay and they all play dumb (with a bit of playacting by Susan) when Toadie and Const. Page arrive to see if they've seen Harry.
Ramsay Street
Const. Page gets on the radio to call in warrants to search ever property in Ramsay Street. Callum then creeps up on her and tempting her with doughnuts and chat allows Toadie to smuggle Harry out of #28 (Karl wouldn't let him stay there) to #30 inside a wheelie bin!
Number 30
Toadie brings Harry up to speed about the latest DHS news - Roz is trying to get Craig out of the house but it won't happen today due to bureaucracy. Harry is worried that Toadie could get disbarred by helping him but Toadie responds by reminding him why everyone is sticking their necks out - they like him.
Number 28
Karl vetoes Ben playing games with Susan because she is tired. Susan isn't amused at Karl wrapping her up in cotton wool and Ben literally shouts at Dan to play with him when he walks in the front. Karl is fine with Dan taking Ben for an ice-cream (Ben texted him to ask) but before they leave, Ben wants to know when Dan is coming home because he misses him. This is news to the grandparents and Dan gets rid of Ben (by telling him there was a Christmas toy catalogue in the mailbox) to allow the adults to chat. He explains that they are having some time apart and remarks that that is what they wanted after Susan replied back about them having time apart being a good idea.
SUSAN: It's not what I wanted Dan.
DAN: Oh come on Susan, you've blamed me from the start now Libby does too. Well done.
KARL: Please can we not do this.
SUSAN: (ignoring Karl) Libby makes her own decisions.
DAN: Yes, and if she's having trouble she can run next door and ask mum.
SUSAN: What bothers you more Dan, that she listens to me or that she doesn't listen to you?
Caps lock shouting Ben returns to tell the world what bike he wants for Christmas but quickly stops as he can sense there is fighting going on again. Susan replies back that no, they are just talking but as she does so, she starts to get the shakes and her walking stick falls to the floor. Karl helps her back to the couch and Ben runs off to get his shoes so he and Dan can head off but before they go, Karl wants a word with Dan.
KARL: Daniel, I'm going to say this once and once only. Do not upset my wife.
DAN: Karl.
KARL: I mean it. Don't!
Commercial break later and Karl is tending to Susan trying to prevent her from calling Libby as he feels its best for her health that they take a step back and let Dan and Libby sort things out themselves.
SUSAN: I worry about her.
KARL: And I worry about you.
Susan then announces that she is going to go on a new diet - cutting out "milk and cheese and meat and Dan", which raises a brief smile from Karl.
Number 30
Callum is babysitting Harry when Sophie and Kate enter (Toadie called to let them know where Harry was). He wants to know why Sophie isn't on lookout and mentions that Const. Page is waiting on warrants but assures her that will take ages...because that's what happens on TV!
The kids head off to spy and Kate tells Harry that Lou could be arrested because of what is going on and that makes him feel guiltier knowing what could happen to Toadie too. "This is really getting out of hand" Kate tells him but doesn't want Harry to give himself up as it will provide proof of what Lou and Toadie have been doing. "What do I do" he asks but Kate doesn't know.
Harold's Store
We've gone all festive at the store with the Christmas decorations up and Ben discovers he wasn't hungry after all because he is worried about Susan. Dan reassures him that she will be fine "because she's a tough lady" and Ben suggests that they both say sorry.
Ben breaks off his chat with Dan to see why Callum is buying the store (or it looks that way!) but the food is for Harry (he's going to hide out in a shed at the community gardens).
JUMILLIA: That will be $27.50, cash or credit?
CALLUM: Mmm, I might just take the chocolate.
Number 24
Toadie reports back from his meeting with the DHS that Lou was right, Harry's case has been caught up in red tape. He then spots Callum and wants to know where Harry is, so Callum retells what Harry told him - that he didn't want to be a hassle and that Callum had to go and get some supplies before meeting him back at #24. Callum doesn't seem to think it's a big deal (unlike Sophie and Kate) and Lou denies telling Harry anything about the shed at the community gardens. Kate tells Callum that he's been had by Harry and that he's done a runner.
Outside
Harry listens to the voicemail Kate has left for him - that they want him home.
Number 24
Toadie sends Callum off to wait for Harry at home but run into Const. Page and another officer with a warrant at the door. She sends officer silent into check the bedrooms and everyone confirms that Harry isn't there because he ran away. Officer silent returns confirming that Harry isn't there and Const. Page wants Lou to accompany them to the station for a bit of a chat but just at that point Harry walks into the house.
Harry confirms to Const. Page that nobody helped him or hit him, he did it all himself. "You can't blame anyone except me" he adds. Const. Page wants him to go with her (back to the home) but Toadie pleads for them to wait until the DHS arrive.
Number 28
Susan is doing some research on the net when Dan brings Ben back. Dan proposes a truce, which Susan agrees to, so happy Ben suggests that Dan stays for dinner. Karl and Dan are both looking for excuses but Ben begs Dan and Susan adds that it would be nice for Ben too, so dinner for 4 it is!
Number 24
Roz arrives with news that despite the case being fast-tracked Harry has to return to the home because Craig is in the process of being removed. Lou wants to know why he's got to go back but Roz replies back that it's out of her hands. Harry leaves with Const. Page and officer silent, reassuring his sisters that things will be fine.
"Don't worry, he'll be back" Lou says to reassure the sisters but Roz puts a dampener on it - her boss didn't appreciate being held to ransom and adds that what he did wasn't appropriate for a guardian either.
ROZ: We'll have to re-assess your guardianship.
Number 28
The adults make uncomfortable idol chit-chat as they prepare the meal before Susan subtly asks Dan questions about his new living arrangements - he's at Lassiters (on a good deal) and he'll be there as long as he likes. Susan goes to put some washing on and Karl sends Ben after her so he can chat to Dan after denying Ben's question of whether they are going to argue or not.
Alone, Karl points out the obvious - that it isn't working. Dan replies back that he came to apologise and it's Susan who was digging around.
KARL: This is literally putting her life at risk.
DAN: You can't blame me for that.
KARL: I am sorry that things aren't working out for you and Libby but Susan's welfare has to be my first priority.
DAN: So what are you saying Karl?
KARL: I don't know... maybe you just need to stay away from the street for a while.
DAN: What?!
KARL: I'm sorry Dan but I think it's for the best.
Number 28 (very late at night)
Karl awakens to Dan banging the door in the middle of the night - he's back to continue their chat (Susan's return ended their previous one pre-commercial break). He tries to close the door but Dan prevents him from doing so.
KARL: I need my wife to recover without additional stress.
DAN: And I'm that stress am I?
KARL: Well you're banging on my door in the middle of the night and causing arguments...Yes you are.
DAN: Does Libby know you've given up on us Karl?
KARL: MY WIFE IS SICK and frankly you've been nothing but trouble for this family.
DAN: You're a piece of work, you know that? You backstab your daughter, you lie to your wife and still you pretend to be a family man.
KARL: I think you should go and I think you should go now.
DAN: I'm not going anywhere Karl. You don't get to say when my marriage is over.
