Recap
- Marco starts working at a vineyard; though his boss worries he's on the run.
- Oliver learns that Marco was married.
- Janae tells Ben and Mickey about the kiss. Darren isn't impressed.
- Rachel runs off.
Number 26
Libby explains that Ben is pretty upset to hear about Darren and Janae's kiss, and wonders why Janae told him. Janae tries to explain that he already knew as he'd heard Mickey talking about it, and she admitted that it was her to take the blame away from Darren. Libby asks why she couldn't have said something different so that the poor lad wouldn't be so confused. Janae isn't sure, so Lib explains that they have to find a way to explain adult issues to kids in a way that they understand. Janae realises that there is still a lot to learn about being a parent. Ned comes through, but Janae, being upset, decides it's time to leave. Ned is disappointed to realise she no longer calls this place home.
Cinema
As Taylah and her dad come out of the cinema, Taylah spots Rachel sitting alone on the bench. Agreeing to meet her dad in the car, she sneaks back to see Rach. Realising that Rachel is planning to sleep out tonight, she warns her friend that her family are worried about her. Taylah offers for Rach to come and crash at her place that night, and warns her not to hang around the cinema as it'll become dangerous later on. She heads off to meet her dad, leaving Rachel alone again.
Number 28
Susan is on the phone to the police trying to give them a description of what Rachel was wearing, but as none of them can remember she is forced to hang up and call them back later. Zeke arrives home and admits that he can't find Rachel anywhere. Karl reassures him that it'll be alright, but Zeke points out that she has got no where to go.
Taylah's Bedroom
Meanwhile, Rachel has sneaked in through Taylah's bedroom window. Rachel thanks her for helping out, but Taylah has a catch - she has to call Zeke and let him know where she is. Rachel isn't so sure and reckons Zeke will dob, but Taylah points out that her brother is much more mature than she realises.
TAYLAH: You've had your head up your own 'bazooka' so much lately, you haven't seen what he's been going through. It's time to get off Planet Rachel and think about what you're doing to your family. They deserve better than this.
Number 28
Karl is on the phone trying to find Rachel, but Rachel calls Zeke on his mobile. She refuses to tell him where she is, but admits that she is okay and safe. Zeke begs his sister to come home, but she hangs up.
Taylah's Bedroom
Rachel asks Taylah if she's happy; but she admits she'd rather not be keeping secrets from Zeke. She agrees to leave it till the morning.
Number 28
Zeke reassures Karl that Rachel sounded fine. Susan admits that it's all her fault; she was the one who told Angus to end the relationship.
Carmella's Flat
Oliver has brought around a lovely crib for Chloe. He points out that the more she sleeps the more sleep Carmella will get. Carmella can't wait to bring her daughter home, and Oliver agrees to meet her later to go with her. Sitting on the sofa, Carmella picks up the photo's of Marco from the party. Oliver advises her that if she wants to get over him, she's got to stop looking at photos and move forward. Carmella wonders what else he might know, but admitting that she doesn't care, he tells her that she doesn't need to know. He suggests that she focuses on the fact that Chloe will be home later.
Vineyard
The boss finds Marco working late, long after the others have headed to the pub. He admits that he'd rather be working than socialising, prompting her to question his plans. Realising that he has no plans, she suggests that he sticks around for harvest, and offers him a year's contract. Marco pauses, causing her to question his commitment, though he reassures her that he doesn't have anywhere else he would rather be.
Taylah's
Taylah suggests that Rachel should head home, but Rachel claims that she can't. Taylah points out that everyone disagrees with their parents at some point. She tells Rachel of the time when she was eleven and her mum left with a different man; and the way her dad works so hard that he doesn't have to think about it.
TAYLAH: Your family give a damn.
Rachel explains that after the police made her explain the entire story of her and Angus, Susan and Karl weren't able to look at her. She feels that now she's lost both her parents respect and Angus' love, and everyone is going to be reading about it in the paper. Taylah apologises for the paper, but Rachel knows it's not her fault. Taylah suggests that going home may not be as bad as she thinks, but Rachel still isn't keen.
With Rachel in the bathroom, Taylah takes the opportunity to ring Zeke on his mobile.
Carmella's Flat
With Chloe back at home, Rebecca is keen to have another hold, but Carmella asks if she can keep her daughter to herself for a while. Seeing the moment, Rosie invites Rebecca for a coffee leaving Carmella alone with her daughter.
Number 28
Waiting to hear from Rachel, the Kennedys jump to their feet with a knock on the door, but it's just Daniel, bringing them a supply of coffee. Zeke's mobile rings. Realising that his parents are present, she instructs him to listen but not let on what she is about to say. She reveals that Rachel stayed with her last night and asks him to trust her.
Carmella's Flat
Carmella meets her first struggle as a new parent when she is unable to stop Chloe from crying. Picking up the phone she calls Rebecca to ask for help.
Taylah's bedroom
Tidying up Taylah's bedroom, the girls are almost sprung when Taylah's dad knocks on the door. Hiding Rachel in the wardrobe, Taylah lets her dad in. He enquires as to whether she has heard anything about Rachel's whereabouts; it's all hot topic down the General Store. Taylah denies hearing anything, and her dad goes on to admit he's been a bit judgemental about Karl and Susan. He admits it's made him realise that he doesn't involve himself in her life very much and apologises. She reassures him that he's great as a dad, but he reckons the same could've happened to her and he wouldn't have known. He encourages her to talk to him more, and that he'll support her in everything. After a hug and a round of love-you's he heads out.
Opening the wardrobe door, Taylah finds Rachel in sobs of tears.
Carmella's Flat
Rebecca arrives to help a worried Carmella with Chloe. Picking her out of her crib and giving her a hug, Rebecca manages to stop the babe from crying. Carmella wonders how on earth she managed it, but Rebecca reminds her of the steps: hungry, tired, wet or wind, and if it doesn't work; start again. Carmella worries that she isn't able to be a parent, but Rebecca reassures her that all babies cry, and that not even the experienced mothers know all the answers. Carmella apologises for calling her out, but Rebecca doesn't mind; she got to ditch the aunt and get the cuddle.
General Store
Having informed the rest of the gang, Zeke asks for them to help him keep it secret from K&S. Declan isn't so sure, but Zeke reckons the only way is to get Rachel to return home on her own accord. Unsure why Declan keeps staring at her, Bridget questions him. He claims there is no reason, but Ringo teases that it's because he loves her. Zeke gathers the troops and they head off.
Libby arrives to find Ned sitting at a table. He enquires after Ben, whom is now back to his perky self. Libby asks Ned if he and Janae are heading down the same route that she and Darren found themselves. Ned reckons that it's just a glitch, but they seem to be having a lot of problems. Libby suggests that they are just in different places; he's a father and ready to settle down, where as Janae might not be ready to just yet. Ned doesn't believe it and turns it back on Libby as jealousy. Libby doesn't agree, but Ned reckons they'll be fine.
Steph and Toadie's
Pulling a photo of Ned and Mickey out of her wallet, Janae looks at it for a while, before returning it and picking up the phone to call her mum.
Taylah's bedroom
Rachel apologises for her earlier outbreak. Taylah admits it can't have been easy listening to the conversation, but Rachel insists that she is happy for her friend. Taylah isn't so convinced and isn't expecting her father to change that much. The way she sees it, her father will never be like Karl and Susan. She's always at the back of her dad's mind, where as she and Zeke are always at the front of their parents minds. Rachel believes that's where the problem lies; not letting her think for themselves.
Suddenly Zeke calls out from the hallway. Taylah invites them in, much to Rachel's surprise.
Carmella's Flat
Sitting with Chloe in her arms, Carmella watches the video of Marco at the party. She pauses the video on his face.
Vineyard
Looking at the photo of Carmella and Chloe in the hospital on his phone, Marco quickly puts his phone away and returns to working. The boss comes past and asks him about the contract. He informs her that he'll get his answer to her by the end of the day. With the boss on her way, Marco returns to his phone, but deletes the photo and returns to spraying the crop.
Number 26
Collecting her belongings from the house, Janae finds the picture Mickey drew of the three of them as a family. Ned arrives home, and Janae sits him on the sofa. She reminds him of the time when they agreed that Mickey should always come first. She admits that she didn't truly understand the meaning of it back then, but she does now, and she's come to realise that she's still got a lot of growing up to do. With her flying off the handles and kissing other men, it's not stable for Mickey. Ned understands, but believes it's not a problem; they just need to right a few wrongs as a couple. Janae wishes it was that simple, but doesn't believe it will work. Shocked, Ned declares his love. She admits she loves him too, but she has to do the right thing.
JANAE: I'm leaving Ramsay Street
Ned is stunned.
