Recap
(with snazzy tense recap music)
Lou wants to go to Russia to rescue Mishka
Paul proposes he and Gail remarry in order to trap Robert
Janae sees Psycho Rob on her webcam - he's been in number 30!
Katya tells her driver to take her to the hospital, little knowing that the driver is actually Robert (eek!)
Number 26
Lyn assures Susan that Rachel will be fine bunking with Bree. Susan knows that it's best she's here, safe, rather than being out on the street. Lyn tells her that she will be safe and Stingray would never take advantage of her. However innocent the relationship might be, though, Susan could never condone it; imagine what Alex would say!
Rachel arrives back and Susan wants to talk to her, even though Rachel tells her she has nothing left to say. Susan wants to sit down and talk it through, but Rachel won't. She used to respect Susan but then she ruined the memory of her father by returning to Karl, who lied and cheated on her.
RACHEL: How can I have any respect left for you? How can you respect yourself?
Prison
Toadie tells Cam that he should be out by tomorrow; they have so many strong witnesses. Paul is wary though - what about the fingerprint evidence? Toadie is confident they'll be able to find a way around it. Cam tells them about the hot nun, Sister Mary Katherine. Paul thinks it's such a waste.
Toadie gets a call from Janae, and, if you couldn't tell from the look on his face and the underscore music, it's serious. Toadie tells her to get out of there and go somewhere safe while he calls the cops. Toadie tells Paul and Cam about Rob being in number 30 and calls Katya.
Outside Erinsborough Hospital
Katya, still in the back of the car, answers her phone. Toadie tells her to go inside the building and he'll pick her up. He emphasises that she must not go home or leave the building. Katya knows something has happened but Toadie won't be drawn on it.
She asks the driver what she owes him and he tells her it's on the house...
ROBERT (appearing at her wound-down window): But you're gonna have to skip that shift.
He grabs Katya's arm. She wrestles in terror.
Number 24
Lou reminisces about the day they took Mishka to the animal sanctuary and how much she loved the platypus. She even ate Vegemite to fit in and be a proper Aussie! Harold says all the reminiscing doesn't help and hands Lou a letter from the Shane Warne Foundation. 'Arithmetic' (the Stax reunion song) plays as Lou retrieves a letter and photo of Shane and Mishka from the envelope.
Scarlet Bar
Max is on the phone, telling Boyd he'll be much safer with them but then Boyd hangs up on him. Max fills Steph in on Robert being caught on the webcam at number 30 and the fact that Boyd's taking Janae to a hotel. Steph can tell he's upset they won't stay at number 32. Max is - Boyd's still trying to score points. Steph tells something will happen to make Boyd come round - both him and Max come round. Max says he just offered his olive branch. Steph muses that at least Boyd is well (unlike Rob).
Max had a lot planned for this afternoon; there's a photo shoot on at the community hall for advertising the new baby belt. Steph won't go and Max tells her she should, as it's her invention. And she's heaps better looking any stupid old model.
MAX: And cheaper.
Steph laughs, saying now the truth comes out. Max kisses her and tells her to come down, just to check it out - no pressure. If not for him, then for Charlie.
The Middle Of Nowhere
In some very nice countryside Robert marches a bound Katya from a motorhome. He says about how nice the van is and she agrees. He tells her not to be scared, that he won't hurt her.
ROBERT: This is the first day of the rest of our lives.
It sounds like a wedding, which it kinda is. They're soulmates and it won't take them long to get the magic back. Once they get away from Erinsborough they can spend the rest of their lives together.
Number 26
Susan apologises to Lyn about Rachel but Lyn understands teen angst and promises to have a word with her.
Once Susan has gone Rachel appears and tells Lyn that she won't be forgiving Susan. Lyn knows she's angry but Susan is a good person and loves her. She's a human being in she lied, just as Rachel did. Susan was trying to spare Rachel and Zeke's feelings. Rachel says she's a hypocrite. She doesn't understand how Susan could find someone else so quickly. Lyn reminds her that Karl isn't any old 'someone else' - they share a long history together, over thirty years. Karl is a good man and Rachel must know that, deep down. Rachel tells her not now - is she trying to make her accept Karl as a step-father? Lyn says everyone keeps going on about how mature Rachel is but she is still just a kid. Rachel tells her that you stop being a child when you lose both your parents. But you don't stop needing people to help you and Rachel always thought that would be Susan. But she betrayed her and now the only person she can rely on is Stingray.
Number 28
Toadie tells Susan that Katya is fine and Susan can't believe how close they came. At least the street is now full of police. Toadie thinks Robert should be locked up and kept in a dark hole.
Susan answers the phone to find Katya didn't turn up for her shift.
Community Hall
Lou tells some Russian club members that he'll notify them if he hears from Mishka. Steph, Max and Charlie arrive and Steph is even more nervous, seeing people she knows are there. Max reiterates that they'll just try a few hairdos and outfits - no pressure. Once Steph's gone Harold asks what's going on.
MAX: I'm just trying to convince her that she's the most beautiful woman in the world.
Number 26
Susan rushes in to find Rachel all alone. Susan tells her she has to come home - Katya is missing. Rachel bursts into tears, saying she can't lose her too. Susan tells her that the police will find her and asks her to come home, where they can wait together. Rachel will, but only until they find her.
Motorhome
Robert is still going on about how fabulous his motorhome is. Katya is so over it but tries to look interested, given that her hands are bound and he's the psycho here. He talks about driving off into the sunset and she looks down. He knows she's thinking about the terrible things he did but he had no choice as Paul ruined his life. She has to understand he has to pay, which he's sure she will, given Alex abandoned her too. Katya tries not to think about it but says it's true. And she does believe they are soulmates. Robert says they might be...they'll see.
Community Hall
Steph is all glam but she can't do it. Max tells her she looks great. She suggests he do it but he tells her the baby belt is for mothers and does he look like a mother? Nah. He tells her to give it another chance or else he'll have to send the crew away and they were very expensive. Not like she has to or anything, but...
The crew wheel in a motorbike and Steph is happy to see she can sit or stand with it, to make her feel better. Steph takes Charlie and Max goes over to watch her, leaving Lou to more Mishka-reminiscing with Harold. Harry wishes he'd put a sock in it but Lou is just worried Mishka will be prevented from returning to him. He's going to raise the money to go to Russia.
Lyn comes in and watches Steph posing with Charlie, saying how amazing she looks. You have to hand it to Paul - organising this! The perfect way to get her confidence back.
Motorhome
Robert wants to head up north tonight. Katya tries to be enthusiastic. She motions to the bindings, which are hurting her and says he can surely trust her now. Robert tells her that he knows she loves him, deep down, but he can't let her be tempted to run off. Katya says she wouldn't but Robert still won't untie them. She takes a different tact, telling him to kiss her; then he'll know her feelings haven't changed. She kisses him and Robert thinks maybe it could work. She's really hungry and Robert goes to get some fish and chips, untying her leg bindings before marching her into the van and tying her to the table. She tells him to get the local paper and he says he won't be long, dashing out and locking the van up.
Inside Katya struggles and despairs.
Community Hall
Steph admits she had fun and Max thinks she'll look fantastic in the shots. Lyn is so glad to see her with some confidence again. Lynnie makes another pitch for presidency of the Paul Robinson Fan Club when she mentions how wonderful it is that Paul could come up with something like this when he's going through such a terrible time himself. Max corrects her: it was him who organised it all. Lyn is very sorry for making assumptions. Steph wonders how he could know to give her a push but Max didn't - he just knew he should give her a chance.
STEPH: I love you.
MAX: I know you do.
(lots of kissage)
Lyn appears having just finished a call on her mobile. She tells them that Katya has disappeared and Robert might have taken her.
Number 28
Everyone has descended upon Susan's house to wait for news. They all assure Rachel that lots of cops are looking for Katya. Max puts on the kettle and Toadie gets a call, telling everyone that the cops haven't had any sightings of Robert or Katya. They're treating it as a hostage situation. Everyone looks shocked as very serious underscore music plays.
Motorhome
Robert unties Katya's wrists so she can eat. She looks at the paper and what does she come across but an article about Paul and Gail, entitled "MINE SHAFT HORROR LEADS TO WEDDING BELLS". Katya can't believe it and neither can Robert; it's a very, very big mistake. Katya thinks that Paul's manipulated poor Gail into it and Robert thinks he's conned her, no doubt about it. He'll let the wedding go ahead because Paul will be surrounded by cops right now and he can't go near him.
ROBERT: But when I do, he will pay for it.
It won't be something so fancy as a bomb or mineshaft. No, it'll be simple and final. Katya asks whether waiting so long would be fair on Gail; it'll be hell for her once she and Paul are married again. Sooner he deals with Paul, sooner Paul's spell on Gail will be broken. Robert says that's settled it; he'll deal with Paul ASAP.
ROBERT: Then you and I won't have anything to worry about.
