Recap
Kim challenges Janelle - are any of the kids really his?
Steph tells Lyn to back off a bit
Boyd tells Janae he wants a break
No. 26/Ramsay Street
Stinger watches from the window and relays what he sees to Janelle - Boyd finally tells Janae the relationship is over because he is fed up with her stupid mind games. Janae's parting shot is to tell Boyd that Sasha will make a move on him, which just confirms to Boyd why he's called it off.
While Janae makes her way up the stairs, Stinger thinks the best plan is to hide in his room but Janelle is having none of it, he has to stay until they see how Janae wants to play it (either let off steam or to talk). He reminds Janelle that Janae is constantly breaking up with her boyfriend when they hear Janae enter the house and act as if nothing has happened. "Hi sweetie how's things," Janelle says but Janae heads straight to her room without talking.
STINGER: Well that's a first - no screaming, no shouting. Thought she'd at least chuck something at us.
Janelle agrees with her son and says that Janae must be really upset as it isn't like her. Stinger them comments that his mum is acting strange too...by ironing a tea towel but she doesn't think there is anything wrong.
Shopping mall bookstore
Kim has taken Bree out on a shopping spree to a bookstore and she hugs her dad when he hands over $200! For Bree it's the equivalent of a kid in a sweetie shop as she starts to look at the books. She wonders though what she's done to deserve the money...so she can keep on doing it and Kim just looks on sadly as she goes off looking at more books.
They continue looking and Bree wants to know why they can't spend the money on the wedding instead but Kim says they are not leaving until all the money is spent. Bree spots a book suitable for Janae (Life Mechanics (shudders) for relationships) and Kim gets a bit angry that she wants to buy things for the rest instead of for herself. A random shop assistant tries to offer her services and gets a mouthful from Kim.
No. 32
Max and Steph return home from dropping Summer off to find out that Boyd has finished with Janae. Lyn subtly asks for Max's help with the washing to allow Boyd to chat with Steph.
Boyd tells her that he got fed up with the mind games Janae was playing and it is over for good. He then tells Steph that Janae thinks the same as her about Sasha. Steph says to give it time but Boyd replies that it isn't going to happen but that he's made the right decision and doesn't need the hassle.
No. 26
From the livingroom Bree and Stinger comment on the strange behaviour of their parents in the kitchen. Breaking the silence, Kim says that the test results will be ready in the afternoon and Janelle tells him that he's got a couple of hours to save their marriage. In the livingroom the kids hear their parents trying to keep their voices down while they have an argument. Back in the kitchen, Janelle reaffirms that she was faithful to her husband and adds that if he loved her then he'd trust her instead of waiting for confirmation from a bit of paper. Kim says he's not waiting for the bit of paper and Janelle firmly tells him to believe her before the results of that is it, marriage over. This then starts them off on a ding-dong over the meaning of trust and cheating before Kim announces that he needs some air. During the ding-dong though, the kids have heard the bit about cheating.
Hospital
Must be the days for arguments, as Steph asks Lyn to get silicon teats for her from the shops (which almost results in them having a ding-dong) before Lyn begrudgingly heads off to get them. Max tells Steph to calm down and reminds her that she'd make an effort as they take a seat. "Believe me I am," replies Steph.
Round the corner, Lyn runs into Father Capetola and exchange pleasantries. They talk about Susan and Alex before talking about Charlie and Steph's radiotherapy treatment. Lyn then subtly asks if the Father has time for a coffee.
No. 26
Bree and Stinger discuss if their parents would cheat, given what they heard as Kim comes in the back door and out the front, telling Bree to tell Janelle he'll be back later. The kids wonder if Kim will be back, given past history, before Stinger tells his sister that if Janelle did cheat then he thinks the marriage is over but Bree thinks it is all a misunderstanding. He then says that he has to leave to go to work and suggests that she talks to their mum but Bree replies back there is no need because Janelle wouldn't.
Hospital
As Max cradles Charlie, Steph gets changed into a gown still moaning about how Lyn is treating her like a little kid - she apparently chopped an apple up so small yesterday so she almost didn't have to chew. She then asks Max if she's beginning to sound like the worlds most ungrateful daughter and he replies back that isn't quite true...but she's into the quarter finals! Max wonders if the reason Lyn is acting like she is, is because she has a void in her life - Joe Mangel isn't back yet (think she'll be waiting until doomsday for that to happen), and it begins to make sense to Steph.
Out in the corridor Lyn tells the Father that Steph and Max don't want Charlie christened but she feels that it is important. He asks who it is important to - her or Charlie. Lyn replies back Charlie because he has a right to eternal life before adding that she knows her kids aren't regular church goers but that they know the church is there as a comfort. The Father replies back that membership isn't exclusive and it doesn't turn anyone away when they need it. Lyn says that she doesn't want to interfere but asks if he'll drop in past and talk to Steph and Max, which we know is going to go down like a ton of bricks even if Lyn has a big smile on her face, when he agrees to pop in once he's seen his other parishioners.
No. 26 back yard
Janelle brings Janae out a jacket to keep her warm and to give her some lunch. Tearfully Janae says that Boyd dumped her because he couldn't take her jealousy over Sasha anymore. She then asks if she was supposed to sit back and wait for Sasha to make a move and confirms to Janelle that nothing has happened so far. Janelle asks if Boyd has cheated before and is told no before she admits to being an idiot because she knows he'd never cheat on her. Janelle tells Janae it is the same old problem - her thinking she isn't good enough but Janae doesn't reply, so Janelle adds that it is up to her now before pulling her daughter in for a hug.
JANAE: (tearfully) I wish that I had a magic wand so that I could just go back and wave around and make everything right.
JANELLE: I wouldn't mind one of those myself.
Scarlet Bar
Kim sits quietly as Stinger approaches wanting to know if what he and Bree overheard was true - that Janelle had an affair. Kim remains silent and Stinger tries to say that his dad can't be sure, so Kim tells him to stay out of his business. Stinger informs his dad that there were plenty of men sniffing around Janelle, who could have provided a good lifestyle for them, but she knocked back every one of them because all Janelle wanted was him but he hasn't got a clue as to why. He then adds that Kim is onto a good thing with Janelle as the chances of her cheating are about the same as winning the lottery (Kim doesn't say anything) so Stinger says that Janelle deserves the benefit of the doubt.
Hospital
A now dressed again Steph, tells Lyn and Father Capetola that the oncologist says things are going as well as can be expected. Lyn says that is good news before Steph apologises for not having seen Father Capetola in a while. He replies that it is as much his fault too before asking if they can have a little chat before he brings up the fact Charlie isn't going to be baptised. Max gives Lyn the evil eyes as Steph says that they will be having some sort of ceremony but not in a church since it isn't their scene. Much to Lyn's discomfort and annoyance, the Father actually agrees with their decision even if he was trying to push the company line! Before adding that he respects the views of everyone and as long as they raise Charlie to be honest and good he'll always be a part of god's team. Steph confirms that is how they both feel and the Father reminds them that they can always change their mind before leaving.
STEPH: Well that went well don't you think?
As Steph gives Lyn the dagger eyes, Lyn decides it is time her and Oscar left.
Scarlet Bar
Boyd enters and asks Stinger if he's still talking to him and Stinger replies yes but Boyd has to suffer and wait before hearing them as Lyn, Oscar and Father Capetola also enter with Lyn still going on about wanting Charlie to be baptised. While the Father seems to be letting what Lyn is saying go in one ear and out the other, Lyn remarks that he'd feel different if they were *his* kids. Indeed the Father is more interested in having something to eat, even if Lyn thinks he shouldn't be having the special given it is Lent and agrees to shout him his lunch so they discuss baptism more.
Boyd is a bit surprised when Stinger gives him a beer and admits he was joking over what he said a few seconds ago but Boyd turns it down in favour of the water he is drinking. As Stinger drinks the beer instead, he tells his mate that his sister is high maintenance and is surprised it lasted as long as it did! Boyd asks if Stinger should be drinking whilst on duty and he replies it is just testing the beer for the punters but he still hates the stuff. Getting back onto the original topic of discussion, Stinger asks how he'd feel if it was Summer who was being dumped and Boyd confesses he'd thump the bloke involved. "Exactly, but lucky for you I can't afford to be losing any mates at the moment," replies Stinger before telling Boyd he'll let him off with a warning.
Back with Lyn and Father Capetola and Lyn is still going on about christenings - this time saying how wonderful a christening party is before commenting that she can't get Steph near a church these days. The Father replies that christenings don't have to happen in a church these days nor does a priest have to be involved too (alarm bells should be ringing at No. 32 with that statement) before he tells Lyn not to tell anyone - and we know how good she is at keeping secrets - or he'll be out of a job! As you can imagine, the flash of light bulbs going off in Lyn's brain would be enough to light up Erinsborough, and she tells the Father she fancies the daily special too.
Shopping mall
Bree tries to cheer up Janae by describing her version of various random couples they see from where they stand. Janae replies that her version of cheering Bree up would be to dropping spitballs off a pedestrian bridge. Yuk! She then confesses that she wished she was more like her sister and Bree replies back dorky but no says Janae, smart and mature and also not acting first and thinking about it later. Janae tells her that the whole family look up to her and if she had half Bree's brain then perhaps she'd be able to keep up with Boyd before suddenly dragging Bree off somewhere.
No. 26
Kim enters with the results and Janelle tells him again if he needs the contents of the envelope to prove that Bree is a part of them, then their marriage is dead. Surprisingly, Kim throws the envelope in the bin and goes over to hug Janelle apologising for ever having doubted her.
Scarlet Bar
Max enters the bar and talks to Stingray. He tells Stingray he can take his lunchbreak now and Stinger apologises for how he reacted the other day, which Max tells him to forget about. When Stingray moved away from Max, he obviously smelt the alcohol on Stingers breath and Max warns him that if it happens again Stinger won't have a job even though Stinger explains to Max why he was drinking the beer (testing it for the customers so he knows what they are talking about).
At the bar, Father Capetola thanks Lyn for shouting him lunch especially as he's been ever so helpful and he departs telling Lyn that he'll see her at mass.
No. 26
Kim admits to Janelle that he always knew she was telling the truth and apologises for putting her through the recent hell. Janelle replies that she forgives him but that the lab should be apologising too for stuffing up the first test and that they should sue the lab for a couple of hundred thousand for emotional distress. Kim says that he doesn't need the money if he has her before they start pashing. Breaking apart, Janelle realises that they can't throw the results away because Bree needs them for her science project and for when they sue the lab too, so Kim retrieves the envelope from the bin and hands it to Janelle to open. She starts to scan through the letter until she gets to the important bits.
JANELLE: Dylan Timmins - father a match, mother a match - okay so we are both to blame for him.
KIM: Mhmm.
JANELLE: Scott Timmins the same, Janae Timmins, three for three.
KIM: Oh. (High fives Janelle)
JANELLE: And last but not least, Breeanna.
(Pause while she reads the letter)
KIM: Come on, you've milked it for long enough.
JANELLE: Based on the sample submitted for testing, Breeanna Timmins is not a match for the father (Kim looks stunned) or the mother.
Both of them look absolutely stunned.
