- Stingray being pulled into the car
- Joe's ultimatum for Lyn – him or the Timmins'
- Janae following Janelle's advice about Boyd
- Dylan warning Roo away from Stingray
Roo tells Dylan it's honorable that he is willing to stick up for his brother, but it is a pity he is a dog when it comes to his mates. Dylan says it is between him and Roo, but Roo needs Stingray for his ‘plan'. He pulls Dylan into the driver's seat, and tells him to start the car – he is driving.
Janae is testing Boyd on all things medical, and she is amazed at how much he knows – she says he is going to walk it in, and they should just make him a doctor now! He then gets a question wrong and she ribs him about it.
Roo instructs Dylan to kill the engine, and get the bag from under the seat…which turns out to contain a gun. Dylan comments that it is illegal, but Roo just thinks he's gone soft. Stingray's phone rings, and we see it is ‘Mum' courtesy of caller ID. Roo greets Janelle by throwing the phone out the window, and instructing Dylan to keep driving.
Harold rings up some groceries for Janelle, and she tells him to put it on the tab. Harry is all ‘what tab?' and Janelle is all ‘the caravan park tab, you duffer!' Lou has told them they can get whatever, whenever, and put it all on a tab under the caravan park. Harry is like not on my Nelly! However, Janelle assures him that Parkies are the salt of the earth – they always pay their way! Janelle yells out to Janae that they have to go, and, despite Boyd offering to meet up to shoot some hoops, or to walk her to school, she just says she'll catch him later. Janelle whispers some congratulations to her, and points out that Boyd is falling for her, hook line and sinker.
Joe is telling Lyn that having the Timmins' back is just not on – he sees her as more than just a free meal ticket and a place to stay, and she says that he means a lot to her too… but Janelle is her friend, although she shouldn't get in the way of them, there is no reason for that! Joe storms off saying he'll see her later, and Steph tells Max to go after Joe and she'll look after her Mum. Lyn tells Steph Joe is as stubborn as a mule, and Steph asks Lyn to go for a walk.
West Warratah Caravan Park
Lou thinks it is a bit rich of Harold to tell him off for feeding the people at the caravan park, when he sees it as the same as Harold feeding the less fortunate. Harold thinks Lou is just being Lord of the Caravan Park…He points out that if Lou wants to feed the people of the Park, that's his concern, but the Store is their concern…
Janae and Janelle wonder where Dylan and Stingray have got to. Janelle says maybe they have gone to study with Boyd, but Janae doubts it. Janelle holds up the rubber thongs from the shower, and says they won't be needing them to shower anymore, but Janae points out Joe showers in there too…Janelle shudders and drops them back in the box.
Roo tells Dylan this is the place – but Dylan thinks he is crazy – and armed daylight robbery on a servo? They'll go doooown! Waaaay dooooown!!! Roo tells him not to be so negative. Stingray says they are going to get in trouble, but Dylan points out *they* aren't doing anything – Dylan is – and they are keeping hold of Stinger till he does. Dylan says he's not doing it, but Roo says he is – he doesn't know what Janelle would say if he went home without his little brother…A customer pulls into the servo, but Roo isn't phased…they'll just wait…
Switching between Scarlet Bar and the Hoylands
Bar – Joe tells Max he likes a feisty Sheila, but he could never respect a doormat! And he never would have picked Lyn as one!
Hoylands - Lyn tells Steph she knew Joe had his pride, but she didn't think he'd be this easily phased…how wrong can you be?
Bar – Joe says he can't let Lyn think he's a pushover – it's all about respect “Her respecting me…me respecting myself…” If he folds on this, she'll never take him seriously!
Hoylands – Lyn says she considered Joe's opinion, but she thought if he respected her, he'd take her opinion seriously too…
Bar – 'Seriously', Joe says – they are talking about Janelle Timmins! 'Has Lyn lost it? Is she blind to simple reason?'
Hoylands – Lyn tells Steph Janelle means well, and she thinks she deserves a bit of compassion…
Bar – JOE: Max, you know her – she's your mother in law! What in the wide world of sports is a bloke supposed to do with her?
Hoylands – LYN: I'm at sea! I really don't know what to do! What do you reckon?
MAX (to Joe): If you're sure, then I guess you just can't give in…
STEPH (to Lyn): Well, there's no point being a pushover…
MAX: It's not always about being popular…
STEPH: Sometimes you just have to be the bad guy…
MAX: Honesty. That's the key…
STEPH: Honesty, Mum. There is no other choice…
MAX: You want respect mate, you're not going to get it being a lap dog…
STEPH: If he really cared about you, he wouldn't go making these stupid ultimatums…
LYN (to Steph): Yeah!
JOE (to Max): Too right!
The car leaves and Roo tells Dylan to go. Stingray says he'll do it – he's underage, he'll go to Juvie, but Dylan will go to jail. Roo says that's the whole point – Dylan owes him at least a year. Roo says to let Stingray alone, he's going. He asks if they have a balaclava, but they don't…
Lyn opens the door to Joe.
JOE: Bouncer, go and find Harvey – I need to talk to your mother.
Neither of them knows if they have anything to say to each other…so Lyn wants to know why Joe came over.
JOE: Cause…cause I missed you! I been feelin crook in the guts you know, when things aren't right between us…and I want things to be right!
He says he didn't mean to throw his weight around, but Lyn says he was right, he was only looking out for her.
JOE: Can I have a hug?
He tells Lyn she should take the reigns on this – and if he has to fight through a pack of Timinnssississ to get to her, then so be it – she's worth it. Lyn says they are in it together, and they deserve a home of their own. Joe wants to make sure it is her decision…Lyn says she is going to go and find Janelle RIGHT NOW and tell her that Joe is worth more to her than…
JANELLE: Morning campers!
Well then…that complicates things just a tad…
Steph comes into the kitchen in her overalls (and ugg boots hehe) and Max asks her how things are going in the baby's room. Steph says in a strange voice that it is getting there. Max asks if she is ok, and she says yeah…no…Max asks what is up.
STEPH: Ok, do you promise you won't put this down to stupid hormonal pregnant brain?
Steph tells him that it is the room – something doesn't feel right, and it is creepy. She got the feeling when she put the cot and the change table in. Max asks what kind of feeling, and she replies that she doesn't know…it's just really bad, and gave her goosebumps…and it gets worse the more time she spends in there.
MAX: And I'm not allowed to put this down to pregnant brain?
Steph says it is almost like something she can smell…Max says maybe it is rising damp, or a dead possum under the floor…Steph says she knew he'd think it was crazy. Max says he doesn't think she's crazy, and promises to check under the house for her. She says thankyou and he goes back to his work, but Steph looks freaked out.
The security camera blips as Dylan walks in and puts a cap and sunnies on behind the sunglasses stand. The attendant tells him he will have to take the sunnies off to scan,. But Dylan says he can't do that. He flashes the gun and says to empty the till, promising it is nothing personal, just fill the bag and hurry up. The security camera is still rolling as he leaves.
Janelle wants to know what she could possibly have done to make Lyn change her mind again. Lyn says it isn't Janelle, it is her…US! Joe chips in – he says they have come to an understanding. Janelle says she already booked out of the park, and won't get a good spot anymore. Joe says that's the good thing about buses – you can drive them anywhere. Janelle tells Janae to about face – they can't stay afterall. Janae wants to know what they have done now, but Janelle tells her not to worry – they'll find somewhere else to park…Lyn suggests she parks the bus outside her place, and she can use their facilities for a couple of days. Janelle is all naaah, you an Joe need your spaaace…but Joe tells her she is being made a damn good offer – don't come over all hard done by! Janelle says Lynnie is the best mate ever, as she goes off to get an extension cord from the garage…but Janelle turns on Joe when Lyn is gone, and begins chanting! She recites her curse, and tells him the gypsy blood flows through her veins – tread VERY carefully…Janae adds her own little wave of the hands at Joe as they leave the room.
Janae's voice in her head tells her to stay cool when she sees Boyd, so she goes up and makes small talk. Boyd's voice tells him just to ‘do it' – instead he continues the chit chat about school and how he is clearing out his locker. Voice in head Boyd says to tell Janae she is amazing and he wants to be with her…but Boyd says nothing. Janae says she'll see hi at Aikido, but he says he can't do it anymore, because of exams. They say their goodbyes, and Janae walks off.
VOICE IN JANAE'S HEAD: Ok, so he's not interested. So what? You knew it. Don't cry…DO NOT cry…
Max comes inside covered in dirt – he's been under the house, and while he didn't find any damp spots, he did find a box buried right underneath the nursery. Steph asks if there is anything in it, and Max says he doesn't know, but it looks really old. Steph is amazed by the markings on the box, and wonders what they mean. Max prizes the lid open, and Steph jumps back. Inside are a pair of baby booties, a little silver basin/dish type thing, a little black dolls shoe, which really disturbs Steph, and a horseshoe.
Harold and Lou are arguing about Lou's ‘caring nature' – Lou says he can't help it if he is so kind hearted, and people loooove him, but Harold thinks he is just trying to buy peoples affections. Max and Steph come in and hand the box to Harold. Steph tells him Max just found it under their house, and to have a look inside. Lou thinks the contents are worthless, just some child's treasures, but Harold is deeply disturbed, and won't go near it, telling them to get the box outside and away from him.
Roo and his sidekick lament that $280 and a bit of shrapnel isn't exactly the great train robbery…Dylan is horrified that he is going to jail for $280, but Roo says it is about the thrill. He pulls them out of the car, and he and his sidekick get back in.
STINGRAY: Spiggin hufters!
ROO tells Dylan to say hi to the boys in D Division, and they drive off.
STINGRAY: Cake takers!
I think they're real scared of you, Stinger. Stingray says they have to go to the Police and tell them what happened. Dylan points out he has a record, and Roo will deny it – Stingray is his only backup…the Police won't believe them. Stingray wants to know what they are going to do. Dylan doesn't know, but he does know they aren't going to the Police.
