By the lake
Boyd is hesitant about taking up Serena's offer, and Serena guesses that he still loves Sky. Boyd confesses he was going to ask Sky to get back with him, and that if he continued to be with Serena he'd be doing the wrong thing. Serena says that she wants her first time to be with someone decent...like him, especially after Chris Cousens and Luka. Boyd tells her she's a great girl, but Serena sayd "yeah, but as a friend!". Boyd says he likes her, and if things were different..."who knows!"
Number 26
Steph makes Lyn sit down while she does the dishes. Charlie compliments Lyn on her cooking, says that he misses Valdas. Max and Charlie complain about the smell Doreen's cooking is making, then Max goes off to the pub to lock up. Lyn gushes that Boyd looked handsome in this suit, and Charlie says that he'll have the girls falling over themselves. "He already does," Max replies as he leaves. Doreen brings Charlie a cup of whatever concoction she has made. "what are you trying to do to me, Dor, kill me?" he asks.
The Pub
Max goes over to Karl and they start talking about David's latest project, the video diaries. Max suggests that Karl and Izzy's wedding should be recorded for it. Karl just laughs.
MAX: Now now now, it's all for posterity.
KARL: Which is exactly where David will shove his idea.
Karl debates whether to organise a wedding video, though it wouldn't be in keeping with a low-profile wedding that Izzy wanted. Max asks him how he talked Izzy into that one. Max is shocked when Karl tells him it was Izzys idea. Karl is stressing over the guest list (as a few people don't like Izzy) when Harold runs passed, looking for Lou. Max tells him that Lou isn't there, but he'll help. Harold explains about the bone in his back garden, and excitedly tells them it's a human bone "Lou has a human body buried in his back garden!!".
The Formal
Sky and Lana walk over to Scott, who asks them where Serena is. Lana notes Boyd has gone too. Serena reappears, telling them that she was getting some air, and Boyd enters through a different door across the room. Scott drags Serena off for a dance.
A girl comes up to Lana and confesses that it was her who put a note in her locker, as "George" (Georgina) inviting her to the formal. Lana tells her she didn't reply because she thought that she was a boy, not because she didn't fancy her. They go off to dance and Sky looks pleased for them
Number 26
Steph and Lyn do the dishes and talk about Charlie. Lyn says that she spoke to Valda, who is really missing him. They talk about Charlie being romantic with her, and comment that they never thought he had it in him. Lyn says after living with Joe, she can handle Charlie's bluntness. Steph says that she doesn't want to lose him as they have only just got to know him. She feels really lucky to be well herself. Lyn tells her that she was strong, but she is worried that Charlie has given up already. He's a realist, but "too realistic" for Lyn.
Charlie starts having a coughing fit, and Steph and Lyn rush into the living room. Lyn goes to call the hospital, but neither Charlie or Doreen want him to go. Lyn calls anyway.
The Formal
Scott and Serena dance together, and he tells her how glad he is to be hanging out with her again. "This being friends thing is practising for when we go out again." Serena says that she thought that he was going to Colac but Scott says that "what you said about long-distance relationships. They hardly ever work, but that's not never."
Susan appears on stage to dish out the awards. Boyd wins the "most improved football player", and Sky looks shocked. A man onstage unveils a load of Barbie dolls on wooden platforms as awards, and everyone laughs. Boyd gives Sky an evil look, and runs out. Serena goes to run after him, but Sky stops her and tells her that she can handle it.
Sky says that she was sorry, it was a joke, and she didn't think he would win. Boyd says that she got a laugh, so what else matters. Sky asks if she ruined his night, and he says that she just made it perfectly clear why they are over.
The Hospital
Karl is examining Charlie, much to his annoyance. Lyn and Doreen leave with Karl to talk about his condition, leaving Steph and Charlie together. Steph jokes that they should sneak out to the pub.
Outside his room, Karl tells Lyn that Charlie probably has a secondary chest infection. They will have to keep him in. "Till when?" Karl warns her that he might not be coming home. Lyn tearfully asks if there is anything they can do, but Karl just says make him more comfortable.
The Formal
Susan is cleaning up, giving Sky a lecture on switching the awards. Sky asks what happened to freedom of expression. Susan tells her that she has no right to judge the people that play football, and calls her prejudiced. Sky says she just meant it as a joke. Susan tells her to tell that to her classmates.
Number 24
Serena flops onto the sofa, and looks at her necklace, unhappily.
Number 28
Stingray looks across at Number 24's window
Number 24
Sky walks in, gives Serena a puzzled look, and goes to her bedroom without saying anything.
Ramsay Street
Boyd is walking home from the formal. He glances up at the windows of Number 24. He kicks a rubbish bin over, empties it, and is about to hit Sky's car with it, but stops himself at the last minute.
The Lake
Lana and George stick together, smiling at each other.
The Hospital
Charlie tells Doreen to keep in touch with Lyn after he goes - they need to be kept an eye on. He also tells her to tell Valda how much he loves her. He starts coughing again and says that he can't stay there. Doreen insists that he needs the anti-biotics. Charlie doesn't care, he wants to leave. Steph comes in and asks what's going on - he says he can't stand it there. Steph and Doreen try to calm him down.
Number 26
Lyn is packing things for Charlie in hospital, and asks Max to get down a cake-tin for her. Max says he'll be out of her hair soon, she has enough to deal with at the moment. Lyn says don't be silly, he's practically family anyway. Max says he'll chase up the wasp men to finish a bit quicker. Oscar decides at this moment he is going to start pulling at Max's clothes as hard as he can. He then grabs Lyn when she leans towards him, but finds that he obviously prefers clawing at Max. Lyn gives him a book but he pushes it away, not interested. He sits there for awhile, then Max leans towards him and touch noses. Lyn and Max talked about the tax man. Boyd came in and got a drink, and Lyn and Max asked him how the formal went. He grunts and walks out again, not willing to talk about it.
The phone rings, and it's the hospital, saying Charlie and Doreen are missing.
The Coffee Shop
The cappucino machine is being loud as Harold is trying to talk to Karl. He yells "Lou isn't a serial killer"...just as everything goes quiet. Apparently the bones are over 100 years old, which rules him out as the burier.
Susan comes in and Karl asks her how her exam went. She correctly guesses that he only wants to know so he can brag about what he got. She got a High Distinction, which causes Karl to not want to tell her anymore. It turns out that the poor lamb only got a distinction.
Harold asks how Lyn got on, but Susan said she doesn't know yet, she is with her family. Karl asks her to join him for dinner, and she agrees. Karl tells her that none of the kids have replied to his wedding invitation. He wants her to talk to them, but she would rather stay out of it. He goes to leave, but she stops him, grudgingly agreeing to talk to them. He says she is a saviour, but she replies that she can't guarantee anything.
The Marina
Doreen and Steph have taken Charlie to see his boat, "Sheer gold scandal". He says that she is a beauty, and he fell in love with her the moment he saw her. "The boat?" Steph asks. "That too." Charlie says he is a lucky man, he's had a wonderful life. Doreen tells him its not over yet. "Yeah, but I'm on the finale downhill run." Charlie wants to go on his boat, but Doreen doesn't think it's a good idea. Steph is just unlocking it when Lyn comes running up. Charlie tries to stand but passes out. Steph tells Lyn he begged her to bring him there, and Lyn tells her she should have known better.
