Pier
Lyn, Steph and Doreen are assisting Charlie back onto the safe land. Lyn is hysterical that Steph and Doreen granted Charlie's wish to take him out of hospital and onto the boat.
LYN: That was such a selfish thing to do.
STEPH: Selfish!
CHARLIE: I'm not dead yet.
LYN: Dad, I'm calling am ambulance.
DOREEN: It was his idea, his wish.
LYN: Well why you two went along with it I will never know!
Lyn gets her mobile out to call Charlie an ambulance, but before she can dial it, he throws it into the water leaving Lyn looking upset and helpless. Charlie says that he is over 60 yrs old and will not be fought over like a child in a custody battle.
Hospital Room
Izzy is sat talking smug to Darcy in his comer. She is telling him that she has some great news for him, news that her and Karl are getting married and that she is going to be Mrs Karl Kennedy. She tells him she finally has a chance to be happy and she is going to work hard at her marriage, and if he wakes up it will be too late as she will be untouchable. His monitor starts to bleep.
Park
Karl and Izzy are sat in the park. Izzy has been asleep on Karl's lap whilst he was reading the paper. It is now obvious that she was dreaming in the hospital scene before. She wakes up startled by Karl's mobile ringing. Karl asks her what she was dreaming about, with which she replies that it was a very nice comforting one. Karl says she can tell him about it sometime, but now he has to go to the hospital after being called. They kiss goodbye.
Hospital Corridor
Karl is asking Lyn what Charlie was doing down the pier. Lyn frantically says that it was because Doreen and Steph thought it would be good for him. Lyn says that he used the same excuse when she first met him when he was in hospital. He doesn't like hospitals one bit. Doreen says that it's good for him. Lyn rubs her face with stress and worry.
LYN: Oh for God's sake!!
MAX: Fresh air, Lyn...
LYN: Max!...A change in temperature is the very worst thing for Charlie right now. He knows that, Doreen knows that!
DOREEN: So he made an informed decision.
Doreen then says that if he wants to stay at home then she will support him. Lyn is even more angered when Steph agrees and says that she isn't the only one who is upset. Steph doesn't know what's got into her mum. Karl interups the family from arguing and says this won't do them any good. He then tells them luckily that Charlie is now worse than when he left hospital.
Scullys
Everybody is sat around the Scully lounge looking at Charlie. He says he can't cope with all this attention and that they need to stop. Everybody purposely clears the room so Lyn and Charlie can have some time together alone. Lyn nervously asks if Charlie wants new pillows, he says he is fine how he is. He apologises for throwing her phone away and that he will buy her a new one. Lyn gets upset when Charlie reminds her that he still knows of the promise he made her, that he will stick around for as long as he can.
Lou's Place
Izzy and Karl are sat having lunch whilst looking at wedding brochures. Izzy doesn't look very interested whilst Karl is babbling on. Lou comes over and asks if they have set a venue yet. Whilst looking at the prices he jokes and says that he will never call Karl a tight wad ever again. Lou leaves and Karl quizzes Izzy on what she wants. Garden or Mansion, she says she doesn't mind.
Coffee Shop
Lou storms in and asks for a word with Harold in his office. Max and Steph are sat at a table talking about what could be up with Harold and Lou. Max explains that a certain doctor has been stirring the pot a little. They hear a shriek from Harold's back room.
LOU: Serial Killer!
Izzy comes in looking very cheery asking Steph if she will help organise her hen night with her. Steph agrees and thanks her for asking. Max asks who she is going to invite, she explains the list will consist of the usual gang, Lil, Lyn, Sindi . Max notices that she has said all of Susan's friend but her. He looks at Steph, but neither of them say anything.
Coffee Shop
Izzy is serving at the counter. Max goes up and quizzes her about the hen night and who she is inviting. Izzy thinks he is asking her because Steph may have backed out. Max then says he is worried she is making a mistake with her guest list. Izzy says they are her friends too as well as Susan's. Izzy tells him not to be a worrier.
Scullys
Steph and Charlie are watching Aussie Rules. Summer comes and asks if she has had any phone calls. Steph assumes of Caleb and says no. Summer walks out looking upset, so Steph quickly follows.
Scullys' Kitchen
Summer asks Steph if she could drop her off at Lisa's so she can get ready for the formal at her house. Steph doesn't look sure until Summer says that she said she could ages ago, but Steph says she didn't. Summer walks out saying that she has ruined her and Lisa's plans.
Lou's Place
Steph is telling Max that she thinks Summer hates her. Max says it's just because she is moody, but she doesn't hold a grudge too long. Steph says she has an idea to make it up to Summer, but that she can't tell him et as she has to let it gel first. Max looks intrigued. She then changes the subject and asks how the visit went with the tax man. Max informs her that he owes that $10,000. Steph doesn't seem too angry, which Max looks pleased about. Harold then enters the pub and tells Lou more bones have been found, but it's all pretty suspicious. The two men leave when Karl enters. Karl joins Steph and Max to inform them that Harold and Lou are a victim of a very old prank. Ages ago, two medical students had a professor who lived in Ramsay Street, so they decided to bury the med school skeleton as a prank. Steph and Max laugh.
Scullys
Charlie is asleep in the lounge, so Summer creeps about him. He wakes up and asks her why she is being so quiet and that she doesn't have to be. He asks her if there is anything she wants to talk about with him.
SUMMER: Are you scared?
CHARLIE: No I don't think so, I've had a long life and now it's time to look back and be thankful. I wish I had got to know you a lot sooner.
SUMMER: Can I ask you one more thing? What do you think happens next?
CHARLIE: I don't know honey, nobody knows.
Ramsay Street
Max and Steph are walking home, discussing what happened for the taxes to get in such a mess. He blames David and says he has let him down. Steph says that they will just have to find a way to pay it back. He says that's what he loves about her, she's a born optimist. They reach home and find Summer looking upset outside. They ask her what's up.
SUMMER: I'm Ok. I've just been talking to Charlie. He really got me going, he knew how I was thinking.
MAX: He's a good man, a very generous man.
SUMMER: He eve said I would be the princess of the ball tonight.
Summer then asks if Steph could help her get ready for the formal.
Scullys
Summer and Steph walk out of the bedroom, with Summer all done up. Charlie whistles and says she looks stunning . Max says if Caleb doesn't throw himself at her feet, then he isn't worth it. On their way out, Doreen and Lyn come in and comment how nice she looks. Lyn then notices that Charlie has a beer in his hand. She takes it oof him and says she can't have it as it doesn't go with the medicine. Doreen says he can have it after Charlie gets angry again. Lyn looks annoyed that nobody is listening to her, even though she means well.
Community Hall
Summer and Steph arrive on Steph's bike. The pupils all look around when they hear the bike pulling up. They all looks very impressed as Summer struts past them.
Coffee Shop
Lyn is sat on her own, crying, looking at some old photo's of Charlie. Izzy bounces over, prompting Lyn to quickly wie her eyes.
IZZY: Hey Lyn, another coffee?
LYN: Ay, no I'm right thanks
IZZY: I just wanted to say I would love you to keep next Friday free, I want you to come to my hen night.
LYN: Oh I don't know about that.
IZZY: Oh no come on, you have to, all the girls are!
LYN: Sorry Izzy, it's not a good time for me at the moment (eyes filling up)
IZZY: Yeah I know but it will help take you mind off things. The way I see it, the past is in the past, you can't hold a grudge with so much love in the air!
LYN: You know what I feel in the air Izzy...Complete Loss! I am losing my dad for the second time, and I ...anyway, anyway, how are you going with your loss? Losing your baby?
IZZY: Erm...we all deal with it different ways.
LYN: Yeah I suppose we do, but if your way is to go and get married, then good on you, we obviously have very different Idea's on what love is.
Lyn storms out upset, leaving Izzy looking gobsmacked.
