Connor watches Rocco 'rough up' Stefano - Stuart wards off the reporters at his door - Rocco comes in just after Carmella has asked Connor to go out on a date
Carmella is angry that Rocco has warned Connor to keep his relationship with her professional. She insists she wants them to be friends and her father will have to put up with it. After their conversation has been cut short by Trixie sending Carmella back to work, Connor asks Lou what he'd do if Rocco had warned him to keep his hands off his daughter. Lou replies that he'd have his hands surgically removed at the wrists.
Toadie sees out two young women, watched by Connor, Jack and Taj. Despite Connor pleading for distraction from his (highly exaggerated) traumatic day, Toadie won't tell them much but eventually admits they're exotic dancers who are employing him to sue one of their employers. He takes a video out of the player and puts it in his briefcase, warning them not to go through his things and saying there are no photos or anything anyway. As soon as he's left, they turn to look at the briefcase, grinning widely.
Susan has set some food at a single place setting, when Karl arrives home. She apologises profusely for not having made him a snack and they have a very strained little conversation as she's anxious and nervous and he's polite but distant.
Connor continues to tell Jack and Taj about Carmella and is warned by Taj to keep away. Jack opens Toadie's brief-case to get the video out because TV's boring. Connor protests that they shouldn't watch it but they do.
Their heads crane to the side following the action on the tape.
Taj: Is that even possible?
Jack: The tape never lies
Connor: I'd hate to play Twister with these girls - they'd win every time.
Even Bob watches.
Jack: That was a great ending.
Taj: Quite a climax.
Connor comments that he's just learned one thing - that he's led a very sheltered life and protests as Jack and Taj decide their friend Brad needs to see the video at his end of exams party.
Jack: He's going to Medical School and there's no anatomy exam in the world that couldn't (I think he meant could) stump you after that, right?
Taj: Yeah, we'll be doing him a favour.
Connor's apologising to Bob for the video when Carmella arrives as she heard he had a pool and she wants a swim.
Stuart tentatively apologises but Lou's cool. He tells Stuart he won't get his job back as he left him high and dry. Just then Rocco rushes in, looking for Carmella.
Carmella chats to an increasingly uncomfortable and nervous Connor. She frightens him by pretending Rocco's coming to pick her up. When she takes her windcheater off to reveal her bikini top and tells him to get his bathers, he walks backwards into the wall, saying he'll be right back, a big smile on his face.
Stuart tries to persuade Lou to take him back at the garage, but Lou replies that he wouldn't be back asking forgiveness if his face wasn't all over the papers and walks away.
Connor's bumbling as he speaks to Rocco at the door, telling him he hasn't seen Carmella since work and he thinks she may be at Betty's. When Rocco's left Connor races around terrified, but Carmella tells him to relax as she'll contact Betty quickly to cover for her.
Outside Number 30:
Toadie arrives home to find Stuart in the drive. Toadie comments that he's crawled back more quickly than expected and then becomes very angry indeed as Stuart accuses him of ruining his life when he was doing so well at Life Mechanics. He claims that this is all revenge for Dee as he still blames him. Toadie tells him to get some help so that he can admit that Life Mechanics was a scam and he got scammed along with everyone else. Then he can begin to get his life together.
Connor drives Carmella near the house and parks. She teases him about being a scaredy cat as her parents won't care. Connor forces her head down when he sees Rocco's car drive past, but she decides it's fun and he begins to find it funny too, but doesn't want to make a habit of it. After she gets out, to Connor's horror he finds the car won't start.
Susan tries to make conversation with Karl about her and Lyn re-starting the book club and how she might join the gym. She then says that Karl could do some more cooking lessons. Karl's only semi-interested & Susan gets frustrated saying that she's only trying to think if things that won't seem like she's suffocating him. She wants to know what's eating away at him, and wants to help. Karl just wants to do things on his own. Susan says they're two parts of a whole, but Karl says they're not, they're two separate people. Susan's upset.
Toadie blasts Taj and Jack for taking the tape. The boys don't seem too remorseful though. Jack promises Toadie that no copies were made, but when Toadie leaves the room Taj tells Jack that some copies were made.
Lou pops around to ask them if they need some roller shutters as his mate can get them cheap. He sees that they're about to have dinner, and Susan invites him to stay. "Oh no, no. I couldn't do that."
Cuts straight to Lou eating dinner with the K's. He's asking them for advice about the wedding, and telling them about the Nina issue - Trixie wants her there, but she also can't wait to get married. "Still, whatever happens we'll be together. That's the main thing, isn't it." Karl and Susan awkwardly agree. They toast "to togetherness", but the K's don't clink their glasses together.
Connor comes back and rambles insanely to Toadie about his car breaking down and how Rocco wants to kill him. "Have you heard of the term 'overreacting'?" asks Toadie. Toadie tells him that Jack and Taj stole the tape and Connor feigns innocence. They chat about Carmella some more, and Connor says that he won't hang around her anymore... "Toadie, I'm in so much trouble."
Lou thanks Karl and Susan before he leaves. "You two always have a way of making things seem better." Karl looks at Susan in a sad, apologetic way and brings her in for a hug. "I do love you, you know." He hugs her again, but Susan looks sad and unsure.
Connor gets off the phone from Carmella after saying to her that they should just hang out at the pub as friends from now on. "Are you sure you're not ruining your chances with Alyssa Milano for no good reason?" asks Toadie. "Toadie, you haven't had your head in Rocco Cammaniti's hands. I thought he was going to crush my skull like a zit!" Taj walks in and shows them a follow up story on Life Mechanics in the newspaper. Toadie says that Stu was there earlier in the day and how desperate he still was. Taj and Toadie disagree about Stu and Taj says that Stu needs a friend right now."
Car park of Lassiter's:
Taj drives up and sees Stu's car in the dark. Stu's sitting in his car with his stuff, using a candle for light. Taj opens the door and concernedly asks if he's okay. Stu stares miserably at the candle.
