Recap
- Gino offers to move into Harold's vacant room
- Lori tells Jack to be honest
Scullys
Jack and Lori having serious conversation, after questions from Lori and awkward silences from Jack, he admits he's been seeing Nina.
LORI: Do you love her?
Lou's Place
Susan and Lyn are having a lunch (?) and a chat about Joe (Scully) and "me" time, when they're interrupted by a laugh, Gino's laugh
LYN: Oh, why does he have to be here!?!
She starts complaining how she always sees him at work already and how he's over the top, Susan's just joining in when who should join them but speak-of-the-devil, Gino, himself, holding a package. Cue overly friendly "oh hi, how are you" 's, in a very "No, I wasn't just talking about you sort of way.."
Susan asks him how's it going at Harold's and Gino starts happily going into how much they have in common: both cry at 'Singing in the Rain'; like the same peppermint foot scrub... And how he came in for breakfast that morning and the kitchen was spotless, a comment to which Lyn and Susan are very impressed by..
GINO: Anyway, must go, don't want dinner getting cold..
(He disappears and then Lou appears)
LOU: It's all a scam you know..
He then goes on to say Harold and Gino weren't getting on at all, it's a scam, Lou'd told Harold no body could live with him and he's just trying to prove a point. Lyn and Susan nod knowingly (they know better than to get involved in a Lou/Harold bicker!!)
Scullys
Lori's upset and angry.
LORI: So all those late rehearsals for the play, what were they really?
JACK: Most of them were really rehearsals..
LORI: But not all?!
Jack continues to just look guilty while Lori gets very worked up and wheels around, saying how she knew, but she just didn't want to accept it, why didn't he tell her, why did you turn to someone else first. Jack lamely apologies. There's a knock at the door, Lori pauses for breath while Jack goes to get it. Lori's looking very hurt, Jack just looks fed up really.
It's Taj at the door.
TAJ: (cheerfully and blissfully unaware) Hey Jack, you are ya?
(Walks in and produces a bunch of flowers for Lori)
TAJ: Hi Lori, I brought you these.
(Senses something's not right)
TAJ: Um, should I come back later maybe?
LORI: (sounding decidedly annoyed and more upset) So Taj hasn't been told either?
(Taj looks confused)
TAJ: Um, um, told about what?
Jack sighs and suggests Taj comes outside with him for a bit. Jack looks grumpy and slightly upset, Taj looks plain old confused, glancing at one and the other while Lori is on the verge of tears. They (Jack and Taj) step outside.
The Coffee Shop
Connor asks Nina how things are going with Taj and she says they're going well. Connor and Michelle aren't getting along quite so well, but Nina thinks that she'll come round.
Nina sees Michelle coming in so goes off to work. Connor tries to talk to her, but she's only come for milk and tries to rush off. Connor asks Michelle to have a cup of coffee with him and she agrees.
Outside the Scullys
Jack has just told Taj about his relationship with Nina. He is very angry and punches Jack, who falls to the ground. Lori watches from the window as the boys start to roll around on the floor. Susan and Lyn drive up and the fight ends as their headlights reveal them.
Scullys
Lyn brings Jack into the house and demands that they tell her what's going on. Lori tells Lyn that she and Jack have broken up and she can't stay in the house. She goes off to pack her bags. Lyn despairs.
Lassiters
Taj comes to find Nina at work. He tells her that he knows about her about Jack.
TAJ: You two deserve each other.
He storms off.
The Coffee Shop
Michelle and Connor are enjoying each other's company and they seem to have made up. They agree that they're friends again.
Lou calls Connor on his mobile and calls him out to work.
As Connor is leaving, Tahnee comes in(!) Michelle is surprised to see that she's back from New York.
Kennedys
Lori has arrived to stay with Susan and says it's only be for a night or two. Lyn talks to Lori and tells her that whatever has happened and whatever happens in the future, she has come to think of Lori as one of her own daughters. Lori thanks her.
Scullys
Lyn is dragging the sorry story out of Jack. She tells him off for his lack of timing and asks if there's any chance that he and Lori can patch things up. Jack doesn't think so though - he's in love with Nina, even if they can't do anything about it. Lyn tells Jack that he should have been honest with himself and Lori too. Jack says that he's stuffed things up, but Lyn tells him to stop wallowing in self-pity.
The Coffee Shop
Tahnee says that New York was not for her - all the girls were so materialistic and shallow, and she missed her family. Michelle thinks there must be another reason, and Tahnee admits that she was expelled from the exchange programme for blackmailing another student(!) Michelle can't believe that Tahnee has blown the biggest opportunity of her life.
Bishops, the following morning
Harold is insisting to Lou that he doesn't mind having Gino as a housemate. He tells Lou about the row between Taj and Jack and determines to go over to see Lyn later. Gino makes an appearance and tells them off for talking so loudly early in the morning and for leaving a mess on the kitchen counter(!) Gino tells them that he's off on a trip for a couple of days and Harold looks very pleased. But he's less pleased when Gino talks about getting rid of some of Harold's furniture when he gets back(!)
The Coffee Shop
Jack is moping over a coffee. Nina comes in and berates Jack for letting the secret out. She asks him to meet her at 11am at the lake.
Kennedys
Lori is trying to get herself out of her wheelchair with her arms. It's one of her exercises and Susan watches in admiration. Lori says that it's one thing in her life that she can take control of - she's not going to be a victim.
The lake, 11am
Jack tells Nina that Lori asked him about them point blank and he couldn't hide things from her anymore. Nina says that they can't do anything about their own relationship - they just have to be friends. Jack takes her hand and they both know that they want more than that.
Scullys
Lyn is feeling tired, telling Michelle that life is one disaster after another. Michelle tells her that she's know about Nina for about two weeks and didn't know what to do - she thinks of Lori as a sister. Michelle defends Jack a bit though, saying that he didn't mean to hurt Lori.
The phone rings and it's the New York Exchange Programme. They're offering Michelle Tahnee's place on the exchange programme!
