Number 22
Rohan has gone to bed. Marlene is talking to Lou about the receptionist's competition. Libby pops round to see Rohan, and Lou tells her about the incident when Rohan almost stood on Lolly - now he's thinking of moving back to his mother's place. Libby is upset to hear this and says she'll talk to him. Marlene advises her to talk to him tomorrow.
Coffee Shop
Sarah tells Lisa about Marlene switching the photos. Lou comes in and asks Lisa how the training session went - he's got a few ideas for when he takes over. He thinks the team should be "legally aggressive" and do more running. Lisa looks a bit worried(!) and realises that Lou doesn't know anything about netball. She is not impressed. Lou says that he did watch some of Lauren's games, ten years ago(!) Lisa tells him they'll have to find someone else.
Number 22
Rohan comes down from his room and asks if the coast is clear and Marlene says yes, Louise has gone to bed. She tries to convince Rohan not to move out but Rohan is adamant because he could have hurt Lolly and it could happen again.
Lou's Place
Susan, Karl and Libby are having dinner and Karl doesn't think it's fair for Libby to think Rohan is being weak. Libby wonders if he should go and talk to him but Susan and Karl both persuade her to leave it until the morning. Susan tells Libby she can't make Rohan stay, and she thinks she's getting too involved.
Karl goes up to the bar where Philip is having a drink. Lou arrives and Karl asks if he can't stay away from the place. Lou has come to drown his sorrows because he's been booted from being netball coach since he's never coached a netball team before. Philip and Karl are sarcastic.
PHILIP: You're kidding?
KARL: Talk about unreasonable!
LOU: Totally.
KARL: What do they expect next? Tactics?
PHILIP: Outrageous!
Lou says he's been an all- round sportsman and it's in the blood. Philip and Karl try to tell him it may not be as easy as he thinks.
Number 28
Karl, Susan and Libby are discussing Lou over breakfast the following morning and Karl feels sorry for him. Marlene arrives, hoping to get a lift to work with Karl. Libby asks if she can borrow Marlene's car today to drive Rohan, unless he's changed his mind? Marlene says he is determined to call it quits and gives Libby her car keys. She tells Karl she's got her letter for the receptionist of the year competition but Karl is leaving the house so Marlene runs after him.
Surgery
Marlene asks Karl what he thought of her letter.
KARL: Marlene, if you don't win the award you're well on the road to sainthood if half the things you've said abut yourself are true.
MARLENE: Oh, I may have used a little dramatic licence!
KARL: You sounded like Mother Teresa and Florence Nightingale all wrapped up into one! Don't you think you might have exaggerated just a little bit?
Speaking of exaggeration, Marlene asks Karl if he's seen Sarah's photo and if he's going to let her enter it. Sarah and Lisa arrive and Sarah hands Karl her revised letter too. Karl tells Lisa that Lou deserves another chance as netball coach. He would be a great motivator and the girls know all the rules anyway.
Ramsay Street
Lou says goodbye to Libby and Rohan as they drive off. Lisa comes across the street and tells Lou she's been persuaded to give him another chance. She hands him a book and tells him she doesn't want him interfering with tactics until he knows the rules of the game thoroughly. Lou says by the time he's finished with them, Lou's Legends won't know what hit them. Lisa looks less than convinced.
Surgery
Karl is telling a departing patient to tell Gloria to lay off the chili for a while! Sarah arrives for work, wearing more than she had on before.
MARLENE: I'm glad to see you've changed for the surgery. I was worried there that some of our oldies might have had a bit of a turn.
SARAH: Marlene, you never cease to amaze me.
MARLENE: I'm just calling a spade a spade.
SARAH: Well I've never needed to use a spade.
MARLENE: Tell me something I don't know.
Karl is leaving to make some house calls, including a liqueur at the first tee! He tells Sarah he thinks her letter might have a been a bit too casual.
MARLENE: Casual is as casual does.
KARL: Yes, well your letter wasn't perfect, Florence! We'll just let the judges decide on this one and forget about the competition, I think... get on with doing our jobs properly!
Marlene is going home to re- write her letter. She baits Sarah by saying it's a pity there isn't a computer here or Sarah could have another go at hers too.
Woods
Libby stops the car in the middle of nowhere and tells Rohan this looks like a good spot for the picnic lunch she's packed; there's a sign for a scenic walk to a river.
ROHAN: Scenic... great!
Surgery
Lisa is telling Sarah she's given Lou another chance. She's looking forward to hearing his motivational magic and hopes it's worth it. A man comes in, clutching his shirt, and asks to see the doctor. Sarah gives him a form to fill in and confides in Lisa that Karl is 20 minutes late back to the office but she can't tell the patients that.
River
Rohan and Libby are sitting on a picnic blanket. Rohan can't eat another bite and Libby says it's a Kennedy tradition to pack too much food. She is happy to see Rohan smile. They lie down and Rohan asks if there are any clouds. Libby says it's mostly blue and Rohan says he'll never forget that blue. Libby tells him that if he stays they can have lots of days like this. Rohan sits up and angrily asks her why she had to ruin things. Libby says she doesn't want him to go but Rohan says It's too late.
ROHAN: I get in the way. I'm worse than useless; I'm a menace. Those are the facts and they're not gonna change. I should never have left home in the first place.
LIBBY: Not to mention stubborn, opinionated and an absolute pain!
ROHAN: Then you won't miss me will you?
Libby tells him he was just starting to get out into the world but Rohan says he was fooling himself. He wants to go back to the car but Libby says she's going to take a closer look at the rapids.
Surgery
Marlene returns and is glad Karl's not back so she can slip her new letter in. She notices Mr. Roscoe is in a bad way and takes him into the consultation room to lie down. She tells Sarah to call an ambulance; she thinks he's having a heart attack.
Number 26
Lou arrives and tells Philip that Lisa has given him the coaching job back. He's after some advice from Hannah but she's still at school so Helen offers her assistance.
LOU: Lisa gave me this rule book and there's one or two things I'm still not quite clear on.
HELEN: Shoot! [They both laugh]
LOU: What's all this about not being able to move if you've got the ball?
HELEN: Stepping.
LOU: Right, but how you can attack if you can't move?
HELEN: Well the other players have to position themselves while there's just a matter of clever passing.
LOU: Ah. But no body contact?
HELEN: No, you'd be pulled up for that.
LOU: And this is popular?!
Everything Helen says is in the rule book but Lou thought it was a misprint! He asks them not to tell Lisa.
Surgery
Marlene is giving Mr. Roscoe oxygen and Sarah panics him by asking Marlene if she really thinks it's a heart attack. Marlene quickly says it's probably indigestion but it's better to be safe than sorry. Karl returns and takes control of the situation.
River
Libby says she's almost tempted to go for a swim but she hasn't got a cossie. Rohan says nobody would see her! He says it smells great and tells Libby his parents used to take him on picnics and they would swing on a rope and tyre. Libby says her parents are beyond picnics because they always seem to end up in disaster. She asks Rohan what the last thing he remembers seeing is. Rohan says he tried to see as much as possible before going blind because it was gradual. He says Libby probably can't hear half of what he can. Rohan tells her what he can hear including a frog which Libby apparently can't hear until she closes her eyes.
Surgery
Karl puts the phone down and tells Marlene and Sarah that Mr. Roscoe is going to be OK. He owes his survival to Marlene's quick thinking and Karl will mention this on her nomination form. Sarah concedes that Marlene deserves to win the competition.
Woods
Libby and Rohan are walking back to the car and Rohan thanks Libby for the picnic. Libby is sorry there wasn't a tyre for them to swing on but Rohan teases that she would have chickened out. Libby says she's going to miss him. Rohan asks her when she stopped swinging on tyres anyway and Libby says about four days ago. Rohan tells her to tell the truth and tickles her but Libby falls down a steep slope. Rohan calls out to her.
