Number 22
Marlene is fussing over Rohan as she hasn't buttered his toast and Lou has left his chair where Rohan could have tripped over it. Rohan says it's all fine. Marlene tells Lou there are a few kids with colds at the creche but they both have to work so Lolly will have to go. Rohan suggests he could look after her. Lou and Marlene are shocked and awkwardly explain they would be worried about Lolly getting into mischief and him not being able to see. Marlene says they don't want to burden him anyway, and Lou thanks him for the offer, but Rohan is clearly disappointed.

Coffee Shop
Susan is leaving as Lisa comes. Sarah asks Lisa to read her letter for receptionist of the year. In return, Lisa asks Sarah if she can stand in as coach on the netball team as Sandra has gone to Cairns to look after her mum. Sarah hasn't played netball for years and asks if Lisa can't do it. Lisa says she's the captain; she can't play and coach at the same time. Sarah says she's going to have to get someone in from outside.

Number 22
Marlene is putting Lolly's coat on and checks Rohan will be OK in the house by himself. He says he will be fine and tries to convince her she doesn't need to call him. Lou says goodbye to Lolly as Marlene continues fussing over Rohan, making sure he knows how to use the phone. Lou tells her to just go. Marlene and Lolly leave and Lou tells Rohan to just tell Marlene he's not as helpless as she thinks. Rohan doesn't want to hurt her feelings. Besides, she's not as bad as his mother. Lou leaves the house.

Surgery
Karl catches Marlene going through papers on his desk and asks what' she's up to. Marlene says she's just putting everything in its right place. Karl says it was before she started interfering with it! He asks if this has anything to do with a certain receptionist of the year letter. Marlene says she hadn't given it another thought but then starts going on about how she needs his letter. Karl says he'll have it done in plenty of time. Marlene and Sarah will have to take care of their own photos though.

KARL: I hope you'll also do a jot of work at some stage. I'd hate to describe my receptionist as hard- working if she's not!

Coffee Shop
Lou is telling Libby how Marlene is smothering Rohan as they enter the shop together. Sarah says hi and Libby asks her how the job is going. Sarah says it would be fine if it weren't for Marlene. Sarah tells Lou about Lisa needing a replacement coach and Lou isn't happy that Lou's Legends could turn into Lou's Losers! Libby says goodbye to them. Sarah says Lisa has hit a dead end trying to find another coach so Lou decides he'll have to do it!

LOU: With me motivating them Lou's Legends are gonna live up to their name!

Number 22
Libby has arrived and is helping Rohan with the dishes. She says he's doing a great job and suggests he could earn money washing dishes. Rohan says it's hardly what he wants as a career but Libby says if he won't let the blind institute help him he'll have to help himself and it will help prove his independence to his mother. Rohan asks who would give him a job and Libby says she'll check it out.

Surgery
Sarah arrives and Marlene says she's an hour or two early for work. Sarah says Lisa is dropping her letter in so she wanted to check it out.

MARLENE: Why has Lisa got yours?
SARAH: Well she's gonna to let herself into the school and type it up on their computer for me.
MARLENE: Yours will be typewritten?
SARAH: Yeah, isn't yours?
MARLENE: No, I've handwritten it... Still, I'm quite proud of my handwriting. The judges will probably give me points for it!
SARAH: I don't know about that, Marlene. Most people like things on computer these days. Besides, my handwriting's a scrawl.
MARLENE: Yes, I've noticed!

Marlene has brought in her Polaroid camera for their photos and takes a picture of Sarah with her finger over the lens. Lisa comes in with Sarah's letter and Marlene takes another photo while Sarah is talking. Sarah complains that she wasn't ready but Marlene says they can't waste all the film! Lisa tells Sarah she's made some corrections to the letter.

MARLENE: Well I don't think that's very fair, having a school teacher correct your letter!
LISA: Oh, well I'm quite willing to do the same to yours, Marlene.
MARLENE: Oh, well my grammar is perfect and so is my spelling so thank you but I don't need any help.

Sarah tells Lisa about Lou coaching the netball team but Lisa isn't happy. After the sponsorship problems there's no way she's letting him interfere with the game. Marlene takes two more photos and Sarah grabs the camera from her.

Lou's Place
Lisa tells Lou it's a ridiculous idea for him to coach the team. Lou says he was a football coach for years and he coached his daughter's netball team. The point is getting people motivated and motivation is his middle name!

Surgery
Marlene is complaining that the only difference between the letters Karl has written for her and Sarah is the names.

KARL: There's a very good reason for that, Marlene... you've got different names!

Marlene asks how they are supposed to judge between them when the letters say the same things. Karl says it's unlikely they will give the award to somebody who has only been a receptionist for a few weeks but Marlene says it's quality not quantity.

KARL: Have it your own way, but you're very lucky I said what I did. I could have told the truth!

Marlene has to leave as she's five minutes over and they don't get overtime! Lisa comes in and Marlene quips to Sarah that having friends drop in doesn't make for a good receptionist. Lisa has decided to take Lou on as coach after learning about his coaching experience. Marlene says she doesn't know anything about Lou's experience but perhaps it was years ago. Lisa hopes Lou hasn't been lying to her.

Coffee Shop
Susan is surprised Libby isn't at uni. Libby has got a lecture in five minutes but isn't going. She has been talking to Debbie about a job for Rohan but she can't help. Susan asks what about this lecture and Libby says she'll listen to it tomorrow as they tape them these days.

LIBBY: What are you doing here anyway? I thought you had like heaps of housework to do.
SUSAN: Oh, excuse me. Like, I'm allowed to do more than housework on my day off. And you can clean your room when you get home too!

Lisa arrives and Susan invites her to join her for lunch. Libby asks if she's found a netball coach yet and Lisa says she's got Lou. Susan and Libby are both surprised / amused. Libby says he probably knows nothing about netball... but he might be able to give Rohan a job.

Lou's Place
Lou tells Libby he could use another kitchen hand but it would only be a couple of hours a day and having a blind man in the kitchen could be dangerous. Libby says if everyone had that attitude Rohan would never get a job. Lou reluctantly tells Libby to bring Rohan in for a chat.

Number 22
Marlene is impressed that Rohan did the dishes and tells him to sit down while she makes him a cup of tea. Rohan says he doesn't want to spend all day in a chair; he could do things around the house. Marlene says they're here to look after him. Rohan tries to tell her he doesn't need mothering but Libby arrives and tells Rohan that Lou is going to give him a job at the pub.

Surgery
Karl says goodbye to a patient and Sarah hands him Mrs. Henderson's file. She sees one of the awful Polaroid pictures Marlene took of her attached to her letter on Karl's desk. Karl says it was there when Marlene gave it to him.

SARAH: The witch! She swapped it. This is foul!
KARL: Yes, I did say it wasn't very good!

Lou's Place
Lou wants to give Rohan a few days trial and Rohan is offended that he has to prove he can wash dishes. Lou says these are unusual circumstances. Rohan tells Lou to take his job and shove it.

Number 22
Marlene opens the door to Sarah who says she didn't care for her choice of photograph for the competition... so she's going to use one of her modelling photos instead.

SARAH: If looks do have anything to do with it I think I'll win hands down, don't you?

Coffee Shop
Libby tells Rohan Lou hadn't said anything to her about a trial period but she thinks he overreacted and should apologise to Lou when he sees him.

ROHAN: See him?!
LIBBY: Don't get smart with me.

Rohan says he doesn't want the job. He was dux of his school; why should he end up washing dishes? Libby says it's a start but Rohan says he doesn't need it and he's sick of people trying to help him. Libby tells him to go back and live with his mother then. Rohan relents and says he'll apologise to Lou.

Number 28
Karl is looking at Sarah's new photo. Susan snatches it and asks him if he's becoming infatuated with the new receptionist! Karl tells her not to be ridiculous and chases her around the room, trying to wrestle the picture back from her.

SUSAN: Wouldn't you be better putting something in that made her look less like a model and more like a... oh, I don't know... maybe a receptionist?

Karl says this whole thing's stupid anyway; they're both acting like children. Susan snatches the picture again so Karl picks her up. Libby comes in the front door to see Karl holding a squealing Susan.

SUSAN: Hello darling, how was your day? [Libby goes to her room and slams the door]
KARL: Oh, good!

Number 22
Lou asks Marlene what she knows about netball and Marlene says Lisa thinks he is an expert. Lou says perhaps he did exaggerate a little bit but he used to watch Lauren play. Marlene says watching and coaching are somewhat different. Rohan returns and asks if Lou is here. Lou tells him to watch out as Louise is right in front of him, which causes Rohan to trip over (poor little Jiordan Tolli starts crying for her mummy). Lou sits Rohan down and Rohan says he only wanted to apologise for earlier. He despondently says he's going to move back home... it will be best for everyone.
