- Bianca tells Marlene and Sam that she knows where her mum is.
Number 24
Marlene asks Bianca if she's going to go and see if its really her mum. Bianca thinks her mum might have a whole new family, she might want nothing to do with her. Marlene says she'll be delighted to see her, Bianca's a credit to any mother. Sam wonders if she has any brothers or sisters. Bianca says the letter came from Ron, her uncle, and he said her mother is married to some guy. Bianca doesn't want to go and wreck everything for her. Marlene suggests she write to her mum and ask to meet her.
MARLENE: And if your mother isn't sane enough to want to keep you, then you just remember. You come back here, where you're always welcome!
Number 30
Kingston and Ren go through their designs for the fashion show. Ren says Danni is coming over as she has something to talk to him about. She's been difficult, so Ren said she should talk to Kingston directly. Ren and Kingston start kissing, while Luke and Mark squirm. Ren invites them to the fashion show, Luke says he wouldn't miss it, it'll be the laugh of the century. Ren says if that's their attitude, she hopes they're not there. Mark says they're just joking, they'll be there to support her.
Danni runs in and shows Kingston some of her designs. Ren is shocked that Danni has changed the colour as its not what they discussed. Kingston loves the designs. Danni tells them she'll bring Mal to the show tomorrow night, whether he wants to or not.
Number 22
Brett is petting Dahl. Mal says he doesn't want to go to Danni's fashion parade. Brett wonders if he's worried about being sprung underage, joking that Mal looks fourteen. Danni comes in, and Mal explains that if his parents found out he was at the fashion show they'd kill him. Danni tells him not to be such a nerd. She says it's a really big night for her and she wants him to be there. Mal agrees, as long as they're not too late. Danni leads Mal back to his house to choose what he's going to wear, while Brett makes fun of Mal again for being a pushover.
Number 28
Libby tells Mark that taking in country kids sounds like a good idea. Mal and Danni rush in, Mark is about to ask Mal about helping out, but Danni drags Mal away before he gets a chance to ask him.
LIBBY: Well that just about answers you as far as Mal's concerned. He'll help if Danni lets him.
MARK: Is she always like this with him?
LIBBY: Yep
Number 24
Bianca tells Sam and Marlene that she'll miss them. Sam offers to shout Bianca a play night from his winnings on the horses.
Number 30
Libby chats with Luke. She's looking for Mark to talk about this person coming to stay. Luke offers to pour Libby a coffee. Ren looks for Mark, who is outside praying.
Number 30 Back Yard
Ren interrupts Mark as he sits quietly with his hands on the bible. Ren says if he hadn't wasted his youth refusing to meditate, it would have made things a lot easier now. She wants to talk with Mark, like they used to. She says there's no point if he starts to blame her. Mark guesses she wants approval to forget her guilty conscience. She says she doesn't have one. She wonders why things are so tense between them. He says they need to work that out, but its nice that she cares enough to want to. He kisses her forehead and they hug.
Number 24 Back Yard
Sam is excited to get a postcard from Annalise. She says she's coming home. She's heading down the coast to visit Beth and Brad and then she'll come back here, as she misses Sam. He reads a poem from her.
SAM: 'Sam, Sam, the handy man. Stole my heart but away I ran. Scared to look myself in the eye, scared to wave my old life goodbye. But now I've come to understand, you can't run away from the one you love, and I'm coming back to hold his hand. My Sam.'
Marlene hopes Annalise appreciates how much he loves her.
Erinsborough High School
Libby tells Brett, Danni and Mal about the country stay thing Mark's organising. Some kid called Lester Jones is in the middle of the drought area, so he's coming down to stay over the holidays. Brett and Mal offer to help keep him occupied. Danni doesn't want to spend her holidays hanging out with some 'daggy, dumb, country kid.' Mal and Libby take offence as they're from the country. Danni says she's transformed Mal into somebody who's worth knowing. Brett says she's definitely turned him into something.
BRETT: Come on Libby, we better get going. I feel like hanging around some real people. No offence Mal.
Brett and Libby walk away, Danni says they're just jealous.
Lassiters Complex
Mark and Luke are sitting outside Chez Chez, when Sam brings them a drink. Sam suggests they go to the races, but Luke isn't interested. He only bets now and then. Sam thinks he's on a winning streak and can't lose.
Number 24
Brett gives Bianca a book, it's one of his favourites. He's spewing that she's going so soon, they're only just getting to know each other. Bianca says she's going to miss him. Brett asks her to write and let them know how they're going on. Bianca wants to feel like she belongs, she wants to be related to someone. Brett is about to kiss Bianca when she pulls away. She doesn't want to talk about it, and tells him not to spoil it.
Chez Chez
Kingston goes to buy Ren a drink. While he's away she looks in his bag and finds a small box. She puts it back when Kingston comes back, and she tells Kingston that she's excited about tonight. He reassures her about tonight going well and presents her with the small box. She opens it and finds a pair of expensive earrings from New York. She puts them on and kisses him, thanking him.
Erinsborough High School
Danni asks to walk home with Libby, but Libby walks away from her. Danni eventually realises she's annoyed about not helping out with the kid from the country, so she offers to help. Libby tells Danni she has Mal fooled but not her. Libby tells Danni she's manipulative, and she doesn't want anything to do with her.
Ramsay Street
Libby walks up the street as Sam drives by on his bike. There's a taxi waiting for Bianca as she Marlene and Brett walk down the driveway. Sam hugs Bianca goodbye and offers to give her some more of his winnings. Sam and Marlene insist she takes it, she agrees reluctantly but promises to pay him back. She hugs everyone goodbye. She goes into the taxi as it drives away. Marlene tearfully hopes that she's not in for a big disappointment.
Number 24
Brett looks sad on the sofa. Mal arrives, and Danni scolds him for being late. She asks him to change what he's wearing, she's not going anywhere with him in that. She insists he gets changed. Danni asks Brett if she looks okay, he says she needs a hat.
Club
Danni, Mal, Ren and Kingston arrive at the club. They walk past Lucy Robinson who is dancing on a platform. The group join Mark, Sam and Luke, Sam offering to buy drinks after his big win. Danni drags Mal onto the dance floor. Fabian greets Kingston asking where his designer is. Kingston points to Danni on the dancefloor and waves them over to join them. The MC stops the music and introduces the fashion show, as various models come out to show off their outfits.
Number 24
Dahl walks over Brett and Marlene's game of backgammon, scattering the pieces, so they decide to have another game. Marlene says Bianca's only been gone a couple of hours and its quiet already. Brett asks how Marlene handled not seeing his mum for all those years. Marlene says she hoped she was alright, it wasn't easy, but she never gave up looking for her. Brett wonders how someone could walk out on their own child. Brett apologises, he knows it was different between her and his mum, as Cheryl left her. Marlene says when you decide to put someone up for adoption, you've said goodbye already, you've made the decision that they're better off without you. Marlene doesn't know why, she just hopes Bianca's mum had a good reason. She doesn't know what will happen when Bianca gets there. If it doesn't work out, they just have to be here for her.
Club
Everyone cheers at the end of the show. Fabian invites them to the VIP lounge. Mal says they have to go home, but Danni refuses to leave. Mal says he's going, and leaves. Danni joins Kingston and follows the others to the VIP room. Meanwhile Mark is walking past a dancer, and stops when he recognises her.
MARK: Lucy Robinson!
Lucy stops in shock.
