No.24
Lou tells Brett and Danni that Cheryl had a good night, although he's still very worried - Cheryl might have a tough time carrying the baby to term. She'll also have to have a caesarian due to the injury to her pelvis.
BRETT: We'll help.
LOU: And then some, mate. Your own lives are going to have to come second for a while. And Danni, you know what that means!
DANNI: Oh, yes! Selfish Lady Danni couldn't possibly pull her finger out for her own mother!
LOU: Oh, come on, sweetheart, that's not what I meant.
DANNI: Well, I might just surprise you.
LOU: Ooh(!)
Ramsay Street
Cody wonders to Gaby if Julie ran over Cheryl on purpose(!) but Gaby says there's no way. Gaby is off to the hospital to see Cheryl.
Rick comes over and Cody suggests that they go out to lunch today. However, he's busy today finishing off his community service hours with Macca.
No.26
Cody pops in to see Hannah, so Debbie leaves them to it.
CODY: So, what's been happening?
HANNAH: It's different things now. You know Mrs Stark's accident? I dreamt about it before it happened.
CODY: Are you sure?
HANNAH: Does that mean it's all my fault?
Cody reassures her. Hannah goes on to explain that she has also had a dream that something bad happened to Jesse's dad - what if that's come true as well?
No.28
Lou pops round to see Doug. They talk about the accident.
LOU: Julie certainly had the last word this time, didn't she!
DOUG: Hey, come on. We don't know where Julie stands on that yet.
LOU: Maybe.
Coffee Shop
Debbie is eating doughnuts when Rick comes in. He comments on the doughnuts and she offers him one. Debbie asks for details about Macca as Rick is doing community service under him. He teases her about fancying Andrew.
No.26
Cody has rung Jesse's dad and he's fine, although he was poisoned by a frog in an experiment. Hannah thinks she made it happen.
CODY: How would you feel about having a seance?
HANNAH: No way! I don't want some ghost coming from behind the curtain and tapping me on the shoulder!
CODY: No, it's nothing like it happens in the movies, I've been reading up on it. It's just one way of finding out.
HANNAH: Is it really scary?
CODY: It doesn't have to be.
No.24
Brett is doing the ironing. Danni has rung Michael. She's not happy that Brett already knows about the Outback scheme (ie before her)
Danni is wondering how to help out in the house - Brett advises her to find something that needs doing and do it(!)
No.26
Cody and Debbie are talking about psychics. Debbie is convinced that Andrew wants to go to the Ball with her.
CODY: Oh, Debbie, you are hopeless.
DEBBIE: You've really got a problem with me going out with Andrew, haven't you?
CODY: No! I haven't got a problem, I'm not the one with the problem. I just don't know why you can't accept that he's not going to take you!
DEBBIE: Why do you have to be so negative about it?
CODY: Because I think you're going to make a bigger fool of yourself if you're not careful. Just back off.
DEBBIE: Why? So you can have him all to youself? That's why you keep putting him down, isn't it, to put me off! Well, it's not going to work.
Cody just looks at her, perplexed.
Lassiter's Lake
Macca asks Rick if he's seen Debbie recently.
MACCA: Debbie's developed a crush on me and no matter what I say to her, she just won't take the hint!
RICK: Yeah...well, she hasn't had much luck with guys. She went out with me, didn't she?!
MACCA: Yeah. I heard about that. What happened? Were you the one who broke it off?
RICK: Nah. It was a mutual decision. We just got...too serious too soon.
MACCA: Yeah, great. I guess you can't give me any tips then.
RICK: On how to end it?
MACCA: Yeah.
RICK: Look, mate, if it was any other woman, I'd...it's Deb. Just tell her straight, OK.
No.26
Debbie is telling Cody about her dress. Cody offers her a sandwich, but she says she's already eaten. She's still banging on about Macca. They are just talking about Drew when Hannah comes in.
Hannah tells them she decided she wants to do the seance. She, Debbie and Cody agree to do it. They want to invite Danni and Brett too but they're not sure whether they are welcome at No.24 after Julie's accident.
No.24
Brett is reading up on herbs to help Cheryl with the pain. Danni has made them lunch and says she quite enjoyed it.
DANNI: I might as well do all the cooking while mum's laid up, better than boring housework. So how is it, guys?!
Lou and Brett's faces are a picture.
DANNI:(tasting it) Eurgh, it's awful!
LOU: It's not that bad Danni, it just needs something.
BRETT: Yeah, like a new cook(!)
There's a knock at the door and Brett goes off to answer it. In the meantime, Lou reassures Danni - he's found it hard washing ladies' clothes for the first time(!) and they all need to adjust.
BRETT: Debbie's a bit worried that she's not welcome here. She is, isn't she?
LOU: Course you are, Debbie.
DEEBIE: Oh, good. I called the hospital, they said she's coming along OK.
LOU: Yeah, yeah. Could have been worse.
DANNI: No thanks to your mum. Sorry, I shouldn't have said that.
DEBBIE: No, it's OK. I don't want to hold up your lunch.
BRETT: Oh, that's OK, it probably tastes better cold(!)
She goes on to explain about the seance and invites Danni and Brett. Lou says it sounds like a good idea - they can visit Cheryl this afternoon so they'll be free this evening.
Coffee Shop
Cody is telling Macca that Debbie still hasn't got the message. Macca says he'll just have to "get tough". Cody agrees - he'll have to be "cruel to be kind".
When Macca has gone, Rick tells Cody that he's sorry he was a bit distant this morning. She invites him to join them at the Kia- Ora house for the seance tonight and he agrees.
No.28
Doug is relaxing on the sofa. He tells Gaby that he's heard from Pam and it sounds like she's the "Leader of the Pack" cruising around Canberra on the bike(!) Gaby is about to start cooking, but Doug says he's already ordered Chinese for them, so they can relax and chill out. Gaby is pleased.
(Later)
Doug shows Gaby the things he has made for the baby. Gaby is surprised to see a prawn- theme mobile and an aeroplane- themed cradle. She is a bit speechless at first, but then tells Doug that's she's touched. She hugs him.
No.30
Cody tells Debbie and Rick that a lot of things Hannah has said have come true. They are sceptical. Debbie starts going on about Andrew again. Cody and Rick both try to reason with her.
Lassiter's Lake
Debbie is laying out a picnic when Macca comes along.
DEBBIE: Hi! Are you surprised to see me?
MACCA: Debbie...you shouldn't have done this.
DEBBIE: Yeah, I know it's a bit forward...I've never done anything like this before. But, I've never liked anyone as much as you before either.
MACCA: I'm flattered, but can't you see, this is all a waste of time!
DEBBIE: Well, you're the boss, you can take a long breakfast if you want.
MACCA: That's not what I mean. You're wasting your time on me.
DEBBIE: Well, why don't you let me be the judge of that.
MACCA:(cross) WHat's it going to take to get through to you?! I'm not interested in you, OK, Debbie? I never have been and I never will be!
DEBBIE: But, if you'll just give us a chance...
MACCA: There *is* no us, OK?! I'd prefer it if you left me alone.
He starts to walk off.
MACCA: Now, you can pack up all your stuff. When I get back, please don't be here.
He leaves Debbie in tears.
No.24
Jeffrey the rat has escaped again. Brett and Danni find him on Lou, who is sleeping on a mat in the living room.
LOU: He's over here. Come and get him!
Lou explains that he couldn't sleep without Cheryl, so he came out to the living room.
DANNI: You should have woken one of us up if you couldn't sleep.
BRETT: Yeah, we could have had a game of Scrabble or something.
LOU: Would you kids do that for me?
DANNI: Ah, we're family now. Got to stick together.
BRETT: Yeah, you couldn't get rid of us if you tried!
LOU: You're something else, you know that?
DANNI: Now, you get in the bath and loosen up your joints, and I'll get breakfast started.
BRETT: No!
LOU: No, you don't have to do that!
DANNI: Settle down, even *I* can make scrambled eggs(!)
Lassiter's Lake
Debbie has packed up her picnic and is now staring at Macca from a distance as he carries on with his work. Eventually she picks up the picnic basket and walks off.
Ramsay Street
A man turns up in a taxi.
MAN: Cody!
Cody turns round.
MAN:(in an American accent) Now, don't tell me you don't recognise me now, it hasn't been that long, has it?
CODY:(shocked) Drew!
DREW: In the flesh. How about a hug, huh?
