Hannah shakily explains to Helen what happened with the books. Debbie is derisory and Helen assures Hannah that the books probably over- balanced on their own. None of this mollifies Hannah and she insists she's not imagining things. Helen comforts her and glares at Debbie.
Waterhole
Gaby comes in and finds Kris at the bar, reading a card from his kids. He misses them terribly and Gaby suggests that he arranges a visit soon - maybe the weekend after next.
He tells her that he's got the prints from the last Lassiter's shoot and suggests that they meet up tomorrow to look at them.
No.28 (Later)
Helen finds Gaby on her own as the rest of the family are out doing other things. They talk about the baby a bit, and then Helen asks to discuss the Outback Tours with her. She explains that it's a tour specifically for artists with a famous guide and teacher. Maybe it could be a tie- in with Lassiter's. Gaby agrees to think about it.
Mark's parents place
Mark has come to see his father.
MARK'S DAD: Cosmic! It's about time!
MARK: My name's Mark, now, Dad.
His Dad hugs him and tells him he's glad to see him. Mark asks where his mother is - apparently she's off doing meditation. He suggests they have a bit of breakfast.

Helen gives Debbie a photo of her great- aunt at her debutante ball, from around the turn of the century. Debbie admires her dress.

Phil and Julie are discussing Michael. Phil is very frustrated by his behaviour.
Coffee Shop
Kris and Gaby are looking at the Lassiter's photo proofs. Gaby shows him Helen's proposal and asks him to read it. He suggests that they go out to dinner but Gaby invites him over for a home- cooked meal instead.

Hannah is very jumpy and is clearly still worried about the incident with the books. Helen tells her not to be frightened.
HANNAH: Gran, no- one believes me. There definitely is something spooky going on.

Debbie tells Phil that she's fed up of sharing a room with Hannah. He says he'll talk to her, and ask if she's seen Michael.
A customer (Mr Spring) comes in to moan that his paper wasn't delivered this morning. He apologises, saying that the papers were delivered late.
When he's gone, Phil despairs and opens a chocolate bar!
Mark's parents' place
Mark's dad tells him that Annalise is lovely. Mark asks after his mother again.

Helen comes in and tells Debbie she's bought some fabric to try to create a replica of her great- aunt's dress - for Debbie to wear to the deb ball. Debbie is pleased.

Julie tells Phil that he needs to sort Michael out. Hannah comes in to show them her finished quilt (there are a lot of snakes on it!) Phil and Julie admire it.
Julie tries to talk to Hannah about "her clumsiness". Hannah insists that the things have happened by themselves. She is upset that nobody believes her.
Coffee Shop
Hannah is upset and Phil is trying to reason with her. She's fed up of nobody believing her, and Phil suggests that she takes him through the whole story.
Mark's parents' place
Mark's Dad says that he's seen little Hope recently, with "Freedom" and Phoebe. He thinks little Hope is a free spirit. They reminisce about going down to the creek when they were kids.
Mark is still quite sensitive about his childhood and asks again after his mother. His father fobs him off again.

Phil is telling Julie that Hannah is very frightened and they should support her. Phil is hoping to sort things out with Michael tonight.
Phil observes that they seem to have sold a lot of adult magazines - Julie wonders if someone has been stealing them.

Gaby has set the table for her and Kris's dinner. He's brought her a boomerang as a present(!) It seems that all the family are out. They decide to talk business before dinner, so they can relax later.

Debbie has started preparing the dinner and asks Hannah to take over while she finishes her homework. Hannah is nervous and says she doesn't want to be left alone. They start bickering, and suddenly a plate falls to the floor and smashes. Debbie yells at her to stop that she didn't do it.
Phil and Julie come in, and Debbie admits that she didn't actually see Hannah break the plate - but who else could it have been?
Phil sends both Hannah and Debbie off. Before Debbie goes, she tells Phil that Michael has gone out. He rolls his eyes.

Gaby and Kris are getting close on the sofa.
KRIS: Look, I've been thinking about it, and I don't like the amount of time you've been spending alone. I think you should have someone with you. Why don't you move in with me?
GABY: What?!
KRIS: Well, don't sound so horrified! I'm neat, I'm tidy...
GABY: I just don't think that it's a very good idea.
KRIS: Isn't it? I know how I feel about you?
GABY: You hardly know me!
KRIS: How do you feel about me?
GABY: ...
KRIS: Think about it.
GABY: OK, I'll think about it. But don't get your hopes up, this is all a bit too fast and...a bit too weird for me.
KRIS: You could get used to it.
He leans in for a kiss.
Mark's parents' place
Mark and his dad are looking through some old pictures. His dad thinks that Mark has become uptight in the modern world. Mark demands to know where his mother is. Just then, a lady comes in and tells Mark's dad that his mother is settling down to sleep.
Mark is aghast that his mother has been there the whole time.
MARK'S DAD: I was waiting for the right time to tell you. I didn't know how to say it.
MARK: Say what?!
MARK'S DAD: It's not an easy thing to come out with.
MARK: What's going on, dad?!
MARK'S DAD: It's your mum.
MARK: What's wrong with her?
MARK'S DAD: She has cancer. She's dying.
