Helen, Max and Jim are still setting up the party.
Terry comes in to find the house empty. She calls No.32 and Des answers. She tells them she's running a bit late. Then she starts to look for a hiding place for the tape. She finally settles on Scott's tape box.

DES: Where am I supposed to sleep in the meantime?
DAPHNE: You can have my bed.
DES: I will!
But he can't go through with it. He resigns himself to sleeping on the couch in his own house(!)

The policeman tells him he's parked too close to the corner, and when Max goes to move the van, he accidentally puts it into reverse and hits the policeman's car!
