Krista comes over to see Liv.
LIV: You're Leo's girlfriend, right?
KRISTA: You got me.
LIV: I do my research. So what's this about then? If you want to be on the podcast, I'm listening.
KRISTA: Actually, I'm here to put an end to this nightmare. And in order to do that, I need you to drop your charges against Holly.
LIV: Absolutely not.
KRISTA: She is, trust me. Ending this now is the decent thing to do. Your podcast has caused a lot of harm.
LIV: Debateable.
KRISTA: You can make up for it. By backing off, now. Ease up on some people who are having a really terrible time.
LIV: I'll pass.
KRISTA: Um...I hear you're looking to sell Crimesborough.
LIV: Yeah. Are you buying?
KRISTA: My family could. Several times over. But we're not really in the market.
LIV: I didn't think you were the true crime podcast type anyway.
KRISTA: No, it's not our area of expertise. But what we are good at is protecting what's ours. So if you don't back off Holly, we'll bring a defamation case against you.
LIV: I can defend every word of my show!
KRISTA: I think you're missing the point.
LIV: I'm still waiting for you to make one.
KRISTA: Nobody's buying a true crime podcast with a legal dispute hanging over it. We'll take our time, it would cost a fortune, but that's OK for us. Is that OK for you? See, whether we win or lose, your buyers will get tired of waiting. And your listeners will stop trusting you. You'll lose everything. Still want to pass on doing the right thing?
Liv is silent.
Yorokobi
Leo is on the phone, laying off staff, when Terese comes in. She's come to give him some advice - she thinks he should rebrand. Leo doesn't think he wants to go that way - he's worked too hard to build the place - it's Abigail's legacy too.
