- Aaron wishing he could still talk to David.
- Aaron answering his phone and its David on the end of the line!
Number 24
Aaron is struggling to comprehend that it is David on the other end of the phone. 'David' apologises for leaving him and Isla and that he misses the pair of them so much.
AARON: David is this real?!
"Yes!" comes the voice back before saying they have to go - the call was to hear Aaron's voice "one last time." Aaron pleads for 'David' not to hang up, but the final words are that 'David' loves Boo before the dialling tone is heard.
Lassiters Park
As she walks through the park with the boys, Remi thinks they should meet for lunch tomorrow to celebrate JJ returning to school after his suspension. The lad is rather nonchalant about it plus his attention is drawn instead to Felix (he's heading towards the back entrance to Harolds). Remi doesn't initially notice Felix, and so asks JJ if he's done all the homework but when there is no reply to her question, she then notices what has got his attention - just as she is about to say something, JJ angrily replies that he'll do the work when he feels like it before storming off!
Harolds café
Felix gets a message asking about quantities [of stolen stuff] and he retrieves from his bag, a set of the plans where on the back, the quantity of copper wiring (CCW) and copper piping (CCP) is noted - x 100 of both.
Holly comes into the café for a coffee and Felix goes to buy it for her, repaying her for shouting him one the last time. However, as he goes to pay, Felix accidentally spills the coffee from his cup onto the counter and into the book Holly was carrying! Oopsies!
HOLLY: When are you and your girlfriend going to leave me alone?!
FELIX: It was an accident, I swear!
Number 24
Nicolette is very impressed at how "hot" Jane's 'talking to Mike outfit' she has on ahead of their chat! She is less impressed at the meal choice though - cereal and a banana until Jane points out that it will be breakfast time with him, so thought it a more appropriate choice.
Given Jane is abandoning them, Nicolette asks Aaron what he fancies for dinner but he's still shook up from the phonecall that he passes on having something and heads to his room instead. Nicolette is unaware of call, she thinks that it's the visit to the hospital that has Aaron shaken up.
Number 26
Felix is after advice from Sadie on how to make things up with Holly and as she is heading to #32, and Holly is likely to be there too, she will make some enquiries on his behalf. The news she is heading to #32 again, causes Felix to tease her, but Sadie's response is they "are taking it slow" although both "do like hanging out with each other."
Sadie is just about to head out when her parents come home with pizza and they don't look too impressed she is bailing. Wendy quizzes her on when she will be home - making it clear she is okay if it's a sleepover! "Not sure," Sadie replies and the lass can't get out of the house quickly enough!
With Sadie not around to hear his thoughts, Andrew isn't too happy his daughter has spent "every single night this week" at #32 and thus used #26 "like a hotel!" It is Byron's former profession that seems to be the stumbling block for Andrew, although Felix does remind him that seemed to be okay "when it suited you!" Wendy eventually puts 2+2 together and isn't too impressed at her husband!
Unlike Andrew, what is also getting to Wendy is the fact that Sadie is being very secretive about things, she wants to know how serious things are - is Byron "her boyfriend" or is it "friends with benefits" or "is he her booty call?!" After hearing what he's just heard, Felix isn't too surprised at Sadie keeping them in the dark!
WENDY: Do not lump me with him. I am the cool one!
FELIX: Sorry but Sadie doesn't think that.
Number 32
Holly and Haz, along with a hairdryer are trying their best to salvage her book but it looks like a lost cause. Sadie pipes up to say that Felix "genuinely seems sorry" which Haz agrees with.
The gathered (Mackenzie and Byron are there too but Krista is staying in her room) have a gate crasher - Wendy, who barges into the kitchen area to tell the dating duo that they are welcome at #26, they don't need to always stay in #32. Byron thanks Wendy for what she said whilst Sadie looks like she just wants her mum to disappear… and sitting behind Sadie, Mackenzie is trying very hard not to burst out laughing!
Wendy then goes on about them all hanging out together for "family game night" and even suggests a possible date for this to happen! Politely Byron says "sure" in response but Sadie is more forthright and subtly signals for her mum to leave! Thankfully Wendy gets the hint but before she does, she wants to remind the pair she is "a cool mum after all!"
Number 24 (next day)
Nicolette pounces on her mum the minute she surfaces to see how the chat with Mike went. "Well, let's just say things are back on track," Jane says which is met with a squeal from Nicolette although Jane refuses to be interrogated more and heads off to work instead.
Aaron is immediately on alert when he gets a notification on his phone. Nicolette has picked up on his jumpiness and he tells her about the call from 'David'.
Ramsay Street
JJ is in a foul mood as he, and Dex head off to school.
Remi at least as a sympathetic ear in Andrew as his kid "doesn't like me at the moment either" when the pair gravitate together to chat. Andrew suggests that since JJ looks up to Felix, that they let him have a word with JJ as it "might help him change his attitude" even if it's something Remi (and Cara) don't want to happen.
Meanwhile, Sadie and Byron have exited #32 and are about to head down the street but have been spotted by Wendy!
WENDY: Morning you two! Hope you had a safe night! I mean…made a good night… I meant good!
Wendy is the only one laughing - Remi and Andrew are cringing whilst Sadie literally drags Byron away down the street to escape!!!
Number 32 (garden)
Haz is almost caught listening in on Sadie apologising to Byron when Mackenzie comes out into the garden. Thankfully [for him] she doesn't pick up on why his laptop was quickly closed in a hurry and instead they start chatting about Krista. Haz has bought for Krista a box which he thinks she could use to "store a few special baby keepsakes." Mackenzie describes his gesture as "beautiful."
The pair are interrupted when Nicolette and Aaron drop by wanting a word with Mackenzie.
Erinsborough High School
Dex isn't too impressed at his brother putting on the nice act when Jane was talking to him about his first day back at school unlike he has been with Remi.
JJ: Well I have to be nice to hear and I don't to Ma.
JJ is being secretive too about something he puts in is bag and then Dex picks up too that he's heading the wrong way to class.
Building site
Trying to get back into Holly's good books, Felix is calling around trying to get hold of a copy of the book that got ruined with his spilt coffee and looks like he's succeeded in getting hold of one. His happy mood goes though when JJ appears and reluctantly he takes JJ to a more private place to talk.
When they get there, JJ hands him an envelope containing $600 - his savings to try and persuade Felix not to do the robbery. "I can't take that," Felix replies to the gesture, he still plans on skipping town to make things right.
Number 32 (garden)
Offscreen, Aaron has told Mackenzie about the call from 'David' but she's never experienced anything like that in the aftermath of Hendrix's death, the worst she had was "vivid dreams."
Like Nicolette, Mackenzie looks rather sceptical the call happened, even after Aaron shows her his call log. "I wasn't hallucinating this," he points out to the pair of them before wondering if the call was a sign that like Dee, David will come back? "That was a very different case," Mackenzie says plus she reminds him that he "saw David's body." Aaron doesn't like her response and storms into the house, ignoring Mackenzie calling out to him.
Building site
Felix is surprised to see Remi come visit him at the building site. She admits to not liking "this version of my son" and so is following Andrew's advice and seeing if he will talk to JJ, explaining that since the ban, the lad has been withdrawn and isn't listening to his parents either.
REMI: Apparently, you're the only one he's likely to listen to. It's worth a shot.
Felix isn't sure he is "much good at that sort of thing" and suggests a counsellor might be better but she still feels he will "have a better chance of getting through" to JJ.
Erinsborough High School
Dex tries to quiz his brother on where he disappeared to during the period changeover, but JJ isn't saying anything to him however he has to explain himself to Jane though when she catches up with him over skiving his maths lesson. JJ's lie to Jane is he was in the toilet with an upset stomach (backed up by Dex) but reassures her that he is now fine and won't need the sick bay.
Felix sends JJ a text to say come and see him when he has a second, but JJ interprets that as now and so skives the next lesson too!
Building site
Felix quickly hides the plans in a book and then into his bag when he hears JJ arriving.
After ticking the boy off for coming now rather than later, he explains to the lad about the visit from Remi. JJ can't believe what Remi has done and said but Felix turns it around and that the lad should be happy he has "a parent who actually cares" and is "trying her best."
JJ: Why are you defending her?
FELIX: Because it's better to have an annoying mum who gives a stuff rather than a chilled one who doesn't. Trust me!
Lassiters brasserie
Andrew is telling Wendy about Felix having a chat with JJ when they spot Byron and Sadie exiting from Harolds into the complex. The pair are acting rather 'loved up' but after Byron spots Andrew looking at them "with those scary eyes" he calms things down immediately and decides to head back to work.
"Please tell me you're not stalking us!" Sadie says to hear parents after making her way over to where they are sitting. Andrew denies that and any role he played in Byron leaving before talking Wendy's advice and heading back to work to let her chat with Sadie!
Wendy apologises to Sadie for her "overprotective" dad and promises to make him stop doing that. Since they are alone, Wendy thinks its time for a mother- daughter chat!
WENDY: If you ever need anyone to help you get contraception, I can do that. And I'm not an expert, but if you ever feel worried about the experience gap between you and Byron…
SADIE: Mum, you're part of the problem!
Wendy seems confused over that statement, so Sadie clarifies that she doesn't "need anything from either of you."
SADIE: Not the attitude, not the sex tips and especially not the game night invitations!
Wendy justifies herself as she knows this is Sadie's "first relationship," which Sadie does know hence why she wants her parents to "back off!"
The Waterhole (outside)
JJ arrives a bit late for lunch with his mum and brother and the conversation is very neutral.
"Come to spill something else on me," Holly greets Felix with after he seeks her out. He hasn't, or hopefully not, but instead apologises for ruining her book and hands over a new version found in a second hand book. Felix also apologises for not telling her about Jools, confession that he was "just flattered you seemed interested" and "didn't want to ruin it" but acknowledges that it was "pretty dumb!"
After Felix heads off we can see he's slipped up… he's forgotten to remove the plans for Eirini Rising that he quickly hid in the book when he heard JJ approaching at the building site.
Power Road
Wendy takes a break from her shift to have a chat with Andrew over what Sadie said to her. They are just about to part ways when Andrew spots Byron's car parked opposite and wonders "who's following who now?!" "It's a small suburb," Wendy points out before walking back to the complex.
Just as Byron is exiting Grease Monkey's, Andrew is taking a closer look at his car and spots that two tyres are bald. Despite Byron repeating what the mechanic said at the cars recent service (the tyres are good for another 6 months), Andrew is adamant they are bald and so writes a ticket up for the car being unroadworthy!
Number 24
Nicolette has summoned the big guns to help Aaron - Jane! Like Nicolette, she isn't believing that the call did happen, believing instead that Aaron is simply hearing David's voice, just like she did when Mrs Mangel died.
AARON: Did she ever call you on the phone?!
JANE: No.
(Pause)
JANE: But David isn't alive and so there has to be an explanation and we just have to step it through until we find out what it is.
Erinsborough High School
Dex is curious when he walks down one of the school corridors and sees that a lot of the pupils are huddled round mobile phones laughing away. One of the random pupil hands over her phone so Dex can see what is so funny. The audience also see the phone too - it's a video of Jane [talking to Mike] where she is dressed in her 'hot' outfit and sexily peeling a banana saying:
JANE: Oh baby. Let me show you just now much I miss you!
Dex looks about as freaked out as the audience does as the credits then appear!
Coming up on Neighbours
- Dex debating whether to tell Jane about the video or not.
- Byron unloading on Mackenzie about Sadie.
- Sadie having words with her parents.
- JJ spotting Slade talking to Felix.
