WENDY: I just want to ease you back into work.
Aaron is OK but appreciates the thought. Andrew arrives, Wendy wants Aaron to get him a drink after his big day. Andrew hasn't finished his shift which surprises Wendy. Andrew has a lot going on after what happened at Harold's. He needs to get an alibi from a lot of potential suspects. Aaron is convinced Slade is responsible but Andrew has to follow procedure.
ANDREW: I am not looking forward to chatting with Felix.
Felix is on parole after committing burglaries. Andrew had to put his name on the list. Aaron tells him that there's already been chat going around about it. Andrew knows it wasn't Felix. Wendy would rather they talk now than at a later date.
Haz is watching the video of himself as Byron arrives home looking for him. Byron wants to know how he is after everything that's happened. He says he's ok but seems distracted. Byron has been busy at work so couldn't help out. He gives Haz a lager. Byron wants to know if the police have found anything, they haven't. Byron is going to have a shower but offers any support Haz needs.
No.26 Backyard
JJ is punching the punchbag as Wendy comes in the garden. JJ apologises, Andrew gave him the go ahead to come over when he wanted to. Wendy reassures him it's fine, she's cleaning in preparation for the party. Felix is helping out but Wendy is more enthusiastic than he is. JJ is looking for Felix, Wendy thinks Felix is working or with Jools. JJ goes back to the punchbag.
Construction Site
Felix has suggested dawn for the robbery but Slade thinks late at night is better. Felix explains people won't question people at the place that early, Slade agrees. Felix warns him not to smash up any more cafes. Slade didn't know anything about it so Felix explains. Slade tells him it would be stupid to do that so near the police station!
Slade heads off as JJ arrives. Felix has just finished for the day. JJ isn't doing so well at the moves without Felix's help. Felix advises him to keep doing the moves Andrew showed him instead.
FELIX: Slade's not going to be a problem anymore.
JJ points out Felix warned him to be cautious. Felix agrees to let JJ show him what he's managed so far. Felix gives him advice. JJ asks if he's considered teaching, start up a gym. Felix will consider it. They head off.
Mackenzie needs reminding me why being a lawyer is her ambition. Haz points out she makes a lot of money, she's not so keen on all the reading. Byron points out she could pay someone to read it. She likes that idea!
MACKENZIE: How are you not a life coach already?
Mackenzie promises to read through Haz's insurance policy. She wants him to get everything he's owed. He's ok as he's sent the claim off. She's impressed he's done it so fast. He mentions that she felt they were being watched at The Pavilion. He wants to know Mackenzie's thoughts and if she saw anyone hanging around afterwards. Mackenzie thinks it was all her imagination but Haz isn't so sure. Mackenzie doesn't think they'll return.
MACKENZIE: You'll drive yourself crazy if you get paranoid about every little thing.
Mackenzie thinks Andrew will catch the culprit, Byron agrees.
Felix is looking at one of the missing diary pages when Andrew arrives home. Andrew mentions the break- in at Harold's and needs Felix's alibi. Felix tells him he was at home, Andrew reminds him he arrived home late. He wants to know where Felix was earlier.
FELIX: Do you seriously think I did this?
Andrew has to ask. Felix thinks it's a crazy idea he's responsible as he's on parole. Felix reminds him that their parents always assumed he was guilty. Andrew believes Felix, Felix doesn't think he needs to answer this. Felix foresees being blamed for everything. Andrew wants him to calm down but Felix knows he doesn't understand. Felix walks out and slams the door behind him.
Holly shows Melanie the dress she's planning to wear to the party.
HOLLY: I want to show Felix 'Welcome to Ramsay Street' and 'Welcome to me'.
Holly wants to know why Melanie doesn't look so keen on the idea. Melanie is cautious about Felix due to his criminal past. Holly would rather she wasn't so judgemental and people are allowed to change. Melanie reminds her Felix is older which doesn't bother Holly. Melanie hasn't been invited so can't show off her outfit. Holly points out everyone is invited to the party. Wendy hasn't invited Melanie, Holly thinks invites are still being finalised. Melanie has kept a low profile so she doesn't make it awkward for other people. Holly points out it's not for others to pry into and she should come, Melanie agrees.
The Waterhole
It's now the next day. Melanie approaches Wendy and mentions Holly being excited about the party. She wanted to check if it's ok with Wendy to attend the party, Wendy awkwardly agrees. Melanie agrees if it would be too awkward, Wendy thinks she should attend. Wendy apologises for making things weird between them, she still needs to organise a lot of things. Melanie offers to help but Wendy is ok with everything. Melanie heads off and Wendy isn't so enthusiastic!
Wendy tells Andrew what happened. She's wondering why Melanie wants to attend, Sadie points out Toadie and Terese are away. Andrew reminds Wendy they're staying neutral. Wendy reminds them that Terese is heartbroken over everything. Wendy doesn't want to be seen taking sides. Andrew wants to concentrate on Felix and tells them what happened. When he's trying to cover something up Felix usually goes on the defensive like he did last night. Wendy announces she's cancelling the party! She doesn't think it's fair to have the party when Andrew assumes Felix is guilty. Andrew knows he might be wrong and it will sour things with Felix if they cancel the party. Andrew promises to sort things out with Felix but keep an eye out.
Construction Site
Felix tells Slade he is stuck for an alibi. Jools was working, he thinks it won't bode well for him or Slade. He's not impressed at Slade's advice to not say anything at all. The police would need to prove it was him and they haven't got any evidence. He didn't do it. Slade isn't sure if that theory will work plus Felix has Andrew on his back.
Byron is impressed with Haz's outfit, Mackenzie agrees. Andrew turns up, Byron explains that Haz is getting his council award. Haz isn't bothered about it, Mackenzie disagrees. Andrew gives Haz the police report about Harold's being trashed. It's needed for the insurance claim, Mackenzie points out Haz has already done it. Haz hasn't press send, he can do that now. Slade hasn't been spotted since Hugo was kidnapped so Andrew thinks Slade has left town. They're considering other possibilities. Haz is ok about leaving things be if they haven't got any other leads which surprises Mackenzie. Haz thinks Andrew has other cases to prioritise.
MACKENZIE: You are important.
BYRON: Don't nice- guy yourself out of getting justice. You deserve it.
HAZ: I just don't want to waste your time.
Andrew doesn't think he's doing that and leaves.
Wendy is preparing the food and directing Sadie on what needs to be done. Wendy forgot the onions, Sadie thinks she's done more than enough already. Holly and Melanie arrive and Wendy awkwardly greets them. Sadie admires Holly's dress, Holly claims it's a couple of years old. Melanie told Wendy that Holly bought a new dress. Holly realises she needs to change the subject and is looking for Felix. They haven't seen Felix today but know he'll be at the party.
SADIE: Unless he's heard about the lack of onions. What a dilemma.
Melanie offers to help, Wendy asks her to hang a sign in the front room. Wendy is stunned that Melanie actually turned up!
No.26 Backyard
JJ is eyeing up a 0% alcohol drink, Aaron wants to check with Cara and Remi first which would be a no!
Wendy stresses to Andrew about Melanie arriving and no sign of Felix. Andrew hopes the police don't need the alibi. JJ asks what's going on, Andrew explains it's police procedure as he lives in the area. Wendy suggests that JJ and Andrew work the barbecue. JJ agrees but looks bemused.
Harold's Cafe
The Mayor Helen who is presenting the award hopes that the award will help after the break- in. Byron and Mackenzie take the award and scream and jump with delight. Byron finds a spot on the wall and Helen agrees it's a great spot. They look forward to seeing Haz at the Community Gala late in the year, Haz didn't know about it. The winners plus friends and family are invited to the Gala.
HAZ: I'm not sure my family can make it.
Helen will give the family lots of notice and congratulates him. Haz thanks her and she heads off. Mackenzie thinks it's a lovely idea to invite his family. Apparently his parents are going overseas about the same time. They won't just return to see him get a piece of paper. Mackenzie asks about his sister, Byron mentions his brother Mackenzie didn't know about! She wants to know why Haz hasn't mentioned his brother before now.
HAZ: I thought I'd mentioned him. A lot of people think he's exactly like me but I don't think so.
Sadie thinks thinks Wendy shouldn't keep going over and over the thing with Melanie but nobody affected is at the party. Wendy has no right to pry. Wendy feels like she's betrayed Terese by inviting Melanie, Sadie disagrees.
WENDY: It was rude of Melanie to put me in this situation when she knows how we must all feel. Even if she thought she was invited, she must have known she wasn't wanted.
She realises Melanie and Holly are standing right there.
MELANIE: If you didn't want me here, you should have been honest. That would have saved us having to have this conversation.
Holly suggests they head off. Wendy apologises and explains things are complicated. Melanie agrees, Wendy doesn't need to be involved.
MELANIE: I'm not going to be maligned for a choice made by two consenting adults. Enjoy your party. (She leaves).
Melanie arrives home, Holly arrives to check on her. Holly apologises for making Melanie go, she didn't realise that that would take place. Melanie insists she's fine, Holly isn't convinced. Melanie worried about that taking place and it did and she's wondering why she worried about it. Holly points out that things got very awkward.
MELANIE: I feel free. Whatever people say about me doesn't bother me. I know what happened and I know who I am.
Holly is impressed with Melanie's stance. Holly realises Melanie will be ok by herself while she cries on the couch. Melanie gives her the green light to return to the party and show off her dress. Melanie wishes her all the best.
Mackenzie isn't able to make the party as she needs to get on with her reading. Byron notices she's looking up insurance policies and is looking at Haz's insurance policy as well. Haz doesn't want her to bother. Mackenzie is impressed at how much is covered in Haz's insurance policy. She thinks he can do well out of it if he puts the claim in correctly. Byron is interested in this but Haz wants to head off.
Holly keeps looking at the door, checking if Felix has arrived. Wendy is wondering if she needs to apologise. Sadie wants her to concentrate on the party and give Melanie a chance to calm down. Aaron brings Holly a drink as Felix arrives home which she is more interested in. He recognises her for rescuing him, she introduces herself. He promises to shout her a drink. Andrew wants to borrow Felix. He remarks that Felix is late to the party and wants to know about the alibi. Felix repeats that it wasn't him.
FELIX: You need to trust me or you don't.
Andrew isn't convinced and wants to know what Felix is covering up. He's not hiding anything.
ANDREW: I can tell when you're lying to me.
Felix announces that Andrew thinks he is guilty. He isn't impressed as Andrew is supporting his parole. As they're debating this Haz gets up and leaves.
ANDREW: Just tell me where you were that night.
JJ: He was with me. Felix didn't do anything. I was with him.
Felix looks surprised.
