Ramsay Street/Number 28
Aaron can't but stop to look at David's image on the drinks diva which is parked outside #28. Toadie approaches him to "check in" but Aaron moves away without responding back.
Its then Toadie's turn to look at the images, in particular the one of Melanie. He seems to sigh and ponder his options before walking off across the road to his own place.
Watching from window of #28, Melanie smiles to herself after witnessing what has happened.
Harolds café
Mackenzie and Haz's sneaky smooch time is interrupted by a bunch of idiots sitting at one of the tables who thinks it's fun to empty the sugar container all over the table. Haz does his best to react calmly and after the idiots refuse to clean up their mess, he orders them out of the café.
Number 22
Toadie lies over why he is home from work (difficult client) when he's caught skiving by Terese and Nell arriving home. After Nell heads upstairs to change, Terese remarks that her hubby seems stressed and again he uses the cover of that difficult client and compares it to her walk the previous night to clear her head. "I get that," Terese comes back with and suggests that they go out for a drink later.
Number 28
After ordering her dad into the shower when they get home, Holly innocently asks Melanie if she did her community today but is met by her admission of telling Toadie that she loves him!
HOLLY: I've got to say, I wasn't expecting that!
Melanie warns her from saying anything to Karl because he won't approve! "I don't think dad is the main issue here," Holly responds with and wants to know what happened. Melanie explains about coming across her wedding rings and Toadie arrived [looking to talk to Karl] looking "upset and so gorgeous" which caused her to have "a huge rush of emotion."
MELANIE: And I told him that I still loved him and I always will.
HOLLY: Oh Mel.
MELANIE: But then, I told him I want him back!
That last bit doesn't shocks Holly and she wants to know how Toadie reacted. Melanie replies that Toadie didn't say anything, he simply "turned around, hightailed it out of here like I breathed fire on him!" Holly isn't surprised at Toadie's reaction then questions what Melanie expected?
MELANIE: That he'd say that he felt the same way.
HOLLY: Was that a genuine expectation or more of a hope?
MELANIE: I swear that I could feel something from him.
Holly wonders what that could be and Melanie responds saying "a vibe!"
HOLLY: What part of a vibe involves him running away?!
"Shock!" is what Melanie is thinking and adds about how Toadie stopped to look at her image on the drinks diva. Holly doesn't think that necessarily means "that he's interested," but Melanie counters with "it doesn't mean that he's not!" Melanie is now debating whether to go to the office to see Toadie so she can know for sure but Holly immediately steps in to warn her off as that's a "bad idea." "But I need to know what he's thinking," Melanie cries out but is told that she needs to wait, and Holly reminds her too that Toadie is married! She gets that there "extenuating circumstances" but Melanie's best plan is to "cool it" and "stay away."
Lassiters Complex
Andrew is on the case of the vandalism in the complex - Cara reports about Paul's portrait being found screwed up in one of the stairwells and Haz reports about what happened at the café. It seems that the idiots Haz kicked out also ran a red light (which is why they are on Andrew's radar) and after Haz adds that one of the group had an EHS backpack, Cara suggests Andrew has a word with JJ and Dex to try and identify them.
Haz asked Andrew to send him the photo he had and after everyone disappears, Haz tells Mackenzie about recognising the person in the photo - the one who threw the muck all over Melanie. He wants to tell Andrew but given Melanie didn't want anyone to know what happened to her, she's reluctant to break that word however Haz thinks that the end justifies breaking that word and she agrees he can tell Andrew but only after she's checked with Melanie first.
The Waterhole
Neither JJ nor Dex recognise the persons in the photo but do tell Andrew about fellow pupils having had stuff stolen from their lockers courtesy of "a gang of kids from school led by an older guy." Dex names the guy as being "Blade or Jade" and Andrew notes this and thanks them for their help before heading off.
Remi is a bit surprised over what she's heard the pair say and warns them off getting involved! Very, very reluctantly they agree to that.
Ramsay Street
Aaron isn't impressed to see the crumbled up portrait of Paul being carried by Cara after she arrives home (she took the portrait to try and get it fixed up). Aaron would rather she burn it "and put the ashes in the bin" than take it to be repaired!
After Aaron takes off, Cara gets out her phone and when its answered, tells the caller who she thinks was responsible for wrecking the painting of Paul.
Number 28
After seeing what Andrew sent Haz, Melanie agrees it was the same car. Now what happened to her is out (at least to Karl and Holly), Karl is aghast at Melanie keeping what happened to her quiet. "I felt so pathetic," is her explanation and didn't want everyone "feeling sorry for me as well," she adds.
HOLLY: Try mad not sorry! What they did was disgusting. They're the pathetic ones, not you.
Melanie isn't too keen on reporting it now as it would mean she'd need to "relive the whole thing again." Karl gets where Melanie is coming form but Haz thinks that if they let them get "away with things like that, they never face consequences." Mackenzie offers to go with her to report it and it would appear Melanie might have an ulterior motive for visiting the police station to report it… so Holly is quick to then suggest that Andrew should come to them! Eventually Melanie agrees to go to the station to report what happened to her, rejecting the offers to accompany her to the station.
Lassiters Complex
After exiting the station, Andrew confirms to Melanie that the name of the person wasn't Bruce but rather Slade Westall and with the information provided, he's got enough to be brought in.
Just at that moment, Toadie is heading towards his office and Melanie can't get away from Andrew quick enough to go and see Toadie! He though would rather not see her and enters his office alone, leaving her standing out in the complex.
Park somewhere
Nell, JJ and Dex are walking through some park and come across Slade and his idiot mates spray painting graffiti on the trees?!!!! Slade isn't impressed at Nell telling him to stop and it turns into a confrontation between the kids and the idiots. Thankfully before it gets too serious, Andrew arrives and asks the idiots to accompany him to the station!
Harolds café
And it is stand- off take 2 at the café between Melanie and Terese when the later walks in. Melanie tries to wind Terese up by talking about Paul, and perhaps it has its desired effect when Terese suddenly decides she doesn't want a coffee after all and hightails it out of the premises.
Number 30
Both Cara and Remi reassure Aaron that they are both there for him should that be required. However Aaron seems to go into some sort of trance [when looking at the painting of Paul] as the ladies talk and when he comes to, rushes out of the house without saying a word.
Lassiters Complex
Melanie's 'guard watch' of Toadie is interrupted when Haz checks on how she's doing - she's been nursing her coffee too long! Andrew joins them to report that Slade has confessed to the lot - making the mess at the café, the graffiti and what happened to Melanie but is denying being the one responsible for damaging the painting of Paul. Slade will be charged but it won't get him locked up… and from the other side of the complex, Slade is giving Haz and Melanie 'the evil eye' as they continue to chat after Andrew has headed off.
The Waterhole
There is still considerable tension between Toadie and Terese when they do meet up for a drink. She decides to come clean about lying to him by visiting Paul, although justifies her actions by explaining she "was worried about him" as he is "all alone" and "so low." Terese does regret lying to him and further justifies the visit by saying how worried she was that Paul might to something "foolish".
TERESE: You've got nothing to worry about, Toad.
Toadie nods and replies "I know" to her and agrees to forgive her before then saying he has a confession too! He admits to knowing that she saw Paul because Chelsea told him and didn't mention that as he knew she'd tell him eventually.
TOADIE: You got nothing to feel guilty about, so I just, you know, trusted you to tell me in your own time.
TERESE: That's a lot of trust.
TOADIE: I wanted you to make the decision, not me drag it out of you before you were ready.
Terese describes her husband as "a good person" and thanks him for trusting her, acknowledging that she "doesn't deserve it but I appreciate it."
Ramsay Street
It looks like Slade and his idiot mates have found revenge for the kids confronting them by graffitiing the drinks diva van. Aaron is appalled by what they've done to the image of David - making him look like a devil.
Lassiters Complex
Melanie seems obviously that Toadie isn't in his office as she remains 'keeping guard' of his office and it looks like Toadie is going to sneak away from the complex without her realising it, only to turn back and go to the table she is sitting at.
TOADIE: Do you have any idea what you've done?! You've got me keeping secrets from my wife and that is not who I am!
Melanie knows this and that he is "a good man" too. That comment only infuriates him even more as "it's the last thing that I am!" Melanie apologises for what she said, acknowledging it would have "came as a shock!"
TOADIE: Okay. I shouldn't actually even be talking to you, least of all about that!
Toadie goes to head off but Melanie is quickly out of her seat to urge him to talk to Terese.
MELANIE: Tell her what happened. I don't care anymore! She already thinks that I'm going after you, so it's me she's gonna blame and not you. But just know this… what I said was the truth and I don't regret telling you.
TOADIE: Well it's not that simple, is it? I can't tell Terese!
MELANIE: Why not?
TOADIE: Because when I saw you with the ring on, and you told me that you love me, I felt something!
Melanie looks utterly shocked as we head into the commercial break!
Number 28
The gang (Karl, Holly, Haz and Mackenzie) are all geared up ready to scrub the van clean when Melanie arrives home. She doesn't seem to be taking the vandalism done to the van as seriously as they are and is sure the mess can be cleared up with "a little bit of elbow grease and a new paint job." "You seem very upbeat about this," Holly remarks and Melanie's stance is she is trying "to be positive!"
MELANIE: Life hasn't been easy of late, but every now and again, the universe throws you a little something that gives you hope.
The gang look ever so confused at what they are hearing and seeing!
Park somewhere
A very angry Aaron spots Slade and after he confirms his identity, is told that he has "no respect." Slade is obvious to what Aaron is going on about and soon finds himself grabbed by the lapels and thrown to the ground! "Get off me," Slade yells but Aaron isn't listening and he's just about to thump him when Andrew arrives and pulls him off Slade.
Andrew orders Slade to disappear before demanding to know what Aaron is doing but he has no answer and instead stands almost shell- shocked at his actions.
