No.22
Toadie is staring over at No.30 until Terese gets his attention. They've got a balloon arch and number 15 balloons ready for Nell's 15th birthday. Terese plans to pick up the cake the next day. He admits leaf blowing wasn't as easy as he was expecting. Nell arrives and likes the display.

NELL: You'd better not be planning to sing happy birthday tomorrow.
TOADIE: At the top of my lungs.

Nell has a plant she plans to give to Melanie and heads off. Terese has managed to find a wrestling t- shirt and shows it to Toadie. He thinks Nell will love the t- shirt. Terese is determined to do a great job.

No.28
Melanie is pleased with the plant and plans to put it in her room. Karl wants to move it to the greenhouse but Melanie wants to keep hold of it. Holly is heading to work. Karl wants to know if Haz will be at work but Holly isn't sure.

Melanie gives Nell her present as she won't be seeing her the next day. Nell had planned to come over, Melanie wants Nell to spend time the day with her family. Nell opens the present as Karl and Susan look on. It is memorabilia from Nell's favourite wrestling match and she is amazed by Melanie remembering this event. Nell is really pleased with the present.

Lake Rotunda
Chloe tells Elly she doesn't know at what speed things will progress. Elly wants to know why Chloe didn't say anything before now.

CHLOE: I saw what happened to Mum. I needed time to think before I told you...I always knew it was my future...is it fair to you and Aster? Maybe it's better if I move back here.

ELLY: You need to stop talking like that.

Chloe thinks she is facing up to reality. Chloe knows it could change her personality plus her physically. Elly promises to help her deal with it.

ELLY: We'll deal with it when the time comes. It's still early stages...I've thought about the future too. No version involved us not being together.

Chloe wants Elly to think about this carefully rather than giving an answer straight- away. Chloe tells her that it will be extremely rough by the time.If Elly does her research and needs to walk away, now is the time to do so.

No.24
David is off to meet another sober companion and is looking forward to it. He and Aaron arrange to meet at the pub for dinner. Jane tells them Sam has arrived in Scotland. Jane thinks it's good for them to be together, Nicolette thinks it would have been good for Jane to join them. Jane is happy to be here with her children and their families.

Byron is cagey about Reece. Jane is sympathetic about what's happened.

BYRON: You warned me. I just wasn't smart enough to realise.

Jane offers to cook Byron curried sausages and baked beans which is his favourite comfort food. Byron declines as it won't help and heads out. Nicolette tells Aaron and Byron she's going to deal with this.

No.24 Driveway
Nicolette catches up with Byron. She asks where the necklace is and play- fights with him to find it in his pockets. He tells her he'll be ok and heads off.

Chloe arrives home and Nicolette can see something is up. Chloe tells Nicolette she was honest with Elly. Elly was great and said the right things, that doesn't surprise Nicolette. They share a hug.

Byron takes the necklace out of his pocket and looks at it. He puts it back in his pocket and heads off.

No.22
Nell is excitedly showing the match memorabilia to Toadie and Terese.

NELL: Only Mel will think of something like this.

Terese tries to look pleased. The cake is being iced at Lassiter's. Nell is going to Jasmine's. Terese feels upstaged. Toadie assures her Nell will love the t- shirt. Terese thinks she can no longer give Nell the t- shirt and is heading off to meet Jane.

Harold's Café
Karl orders at the counter. He tells Haz he thinks the coffee is great and the food is affordable. He quizzes Haz about his career. Haz didn't go to uni, after Y12 he worked in a cafe. Karl has found out from Holly that Haz's family live in Margaret River. Haz plans to stay in Erinsborough for Christmas. The family are visiting his grandparents in India. Karl thinks Haz's family are proud of him as Holly arrives. Haz heads off into the kitchen.

She worries Karl is giving Haz the third degree! Karl claims it's not too bad. Holly doesn't want to scare Haz off. Karl questions this but Holly doesn't want to talk about it. Karl wants to talk to Holly about Haz and Holly seeing each other.

The Waterhole
Jane admits to Wendy she's not completely read for the council meeting. She needs to do more preparation. Wendy finishes in an hour, Jane wishes her and Andrew a great break at the beach. Wendy doesn't plan to mention Andrew arresting her! Jane suggests that she talks to Nicolette who needs to find legal help. Wendy plans to sort things out with Andrew during their getaway.

Andrew has walked in and they hug. Wendy tells him that Paul has given them a free bottle of bubbly. Wendy gets a message telling her a staff member is now sick for the rest of the week. Andrew thinks Paul is the one to sort it. Wendy is doubtful if they can sort it out.

Jane tells a distracted Terese they still have a lot to sort out for the meeting. Terese admits she has other things going on but has come up with an idea.

Harold's Café
Karl admits he hasn't been around so much, Holly reassures him he's a great Dad. He wants to check she's ok after everything that happened with Eden.

HOLLY: Haz is the complete opposite of Eden.
KARL: Why are you so worried about me getting to know him?

Holly admits to feeling insecure. Karl wants to know if Holly thinks he's committed to their relationship. Holly insists Haz is a lovely guy. She's fortunate to have him.

KARL: He's got you. That makes him lucky in my opinion.

Karl brings over Karl's toasted sandwich. Karl invites Haz to join them but he excuses himself as he is busy. Haz goes into the kitchen and sighs a big sigh.

No.28
Melanie knows she can't help much, Susan wants her to rest instead. Melanie decides to have a lie down. She's feeling exhausted now she's out of hospital.

Elly arrives, Susan realises she's crying and comforts her. Elly tells her what's happening with Chloe. Susan is sympathetic, Elly explains that Chloe has offered Elly and Aster the chance to walk away if they can't manage to see her deteriorate. Elly refused but Chloe wants Elly to think it over.

ELLY: The only thing I'm doubting is what if I'm not up to it? What if I'm not enough to help her through this, help her feel loved and supported?
SUSAN: Only you can answer that. I have no doubt you are up to it.

Elly wants to know if Karl felt this way when Susan got her MS diagnosis. Karl considered how he would feel if Susan was really ill though it's not exactly the same situation. Elly knows Susan can have a relapse.

SUSAN: There are no guarantees in life. Not for anybody. We can try for the best and be prepared for whatever gets in your way.

The Waterhole
Wendy is trying to get cover over the phone but having no success. Aaron arrives and Andrew explains what's going on. Wendy has to cover the shift herself and meet Andrew later. Aaron offers to cover the shift. Wendy needs someone with experience. Aaron has his RSA and has worked behind the bar for cash at functions. The extra cash would help for Christmas. Wendy wants to see Aaron at work so hands him an apron.

Terese has been distracted but admits she's not finding it that easy with Melanie being on Ramsay Street. Melanie's gift was better than Terese's gift though she realises it sounds petty. Jane reassures her she's not being silly.

JANE: It's a complicated time for everyone.

Terese gets a text to confirm their invite has has been approved.

No.24
Elly has come to talk to Nicolette about nursing Fay. Elly wants to know if they should find a place now with more access or mobility support. Nicolette gently tells her not to rush.

NICOLETTE: You'll deal with the practical side of things when it happens.
ELLY: I didn't know if I needed to get ahead of it.
NICOLETTE: All you need to do is be there for Chloe in the moment, in every moment.

Nicolette realises how hard Chloe found it to talk to Elly about and is glad Elly has come to her.

NICOLETTE: You two are perfect for each other.
ELLY: I've never loved anyone more.

Elly doesn't think Nicolette was out of order encouraging Chloe to talk to her and thanks her.

The Waterhole
Jane and Terese show Susan their building plans. Susan wants to know why they are involving her. Terese explains that they're waiting to hear from the Education Department, Karl is doing the same. They know Susan knows the Department well and would like her help with the pitch. Look it over and see what could be improved. Susan is happy to help. Jane and Terese are thrilled and show her their pitch.

Aaron serves at the bar. Wendy stops him as he fiddles with the screen. She doesn't want him to do anymore and he's worried he's not doing a good job.

WENDY: Aaron you're brilliant.
AARON: It's kind of been fun.

Wendy is going to sort out the paperwork, Aaron thanks her. David arrives and wants to know what's happening. Aaron explains he has a new job. David points out Aaron is now working for Paul, Aaron looks deflated.

Lassiter's Complex (Outside Harold's Café)
Haz is lamenting over his chat with Karl. Byron seems to be distracted with the necklace as he points out Karl is looking out for Holly. Holly arrives and apologises for what happened. Haz tells her it's ok. He excuses himself and heads to other customers.

Holly notices Mack and Haz haven't mentioned Mack declaring her feelings for Haz. Byron thinks they'll mention it when the time is right, Holly thinks they're avoiding it. Byron tells her he can't deal with this and heads off.

The Waterhole
Aaron explains he's covering as Wendy was short staffed. David doesn't think Aaron needs to help Wendy out and is helping Paul. Aaron points out that David's job involves the hotel. David doesn't think the situations are the same but Aaron does.

AARON: You're supporting someone who's staying at one of Paul's businesses and you're getting paid for it.

David is bemused, Aaron just thinks it's nonsense and petty. David admits Aaron is in the right and apologises. Aaron understands and is ok about it.

DAVID: I just get paranoid when it comes to Paul.
AARON: We just focus on what we can control. We live our lives and only worry about Paul when we have to.

No.28
Susan arrives home and tells Melanie about the plans. Melanie is looking through her bag. She's in pain and struggling to find her script. Melanie realises it's still at the hospital. She is frustrated with herself. Susan reassures her it's ok and will ring Karl. Melanie thinks she needs it sooner than a couple of hours when he'll be back home. She suggests contacting Remi.

Lassiter's Lake
Elly tells Chloe that she's thought it through and talked to other people. She's considered their future a lot. Chloe means a lot to Elly and Aster which is never going to change. Elly could just think of one thing to do next. She goes down on one knee.

ELLY: Chloe Brennan. Will you please marry me?
CHLOE: Yes. Yes.

They hug each other as Elly gets up. They kiss.

Ramsay Street
Melanie is heading to No.30. She stops and look at No.30 and takes a deep breath. She spots Toadie pruning a plant and carries on.

No.30
Remi is on the laptop as Melanie knocks at the door. Remi is expecting her and invites her in. Remi has her appointment otherwise she would have come over to No.28 instead. Melanie looks around No.30 and takes in the changes. Melanie tunes out Remi's talk about the script. Melanie starts crying, it's too much and she runs out.

Ramsay Street
Melanie heads onto the street and takes a deep breath. Toadie notices her this time. They look at each other before Melanie heads back to No.28.
