- David confirming to Aaron that the blackmailer will "follow through" if they don't pay up.
- Aaron and David looking for things to sell to raise the money.
- Aaron pulling out of selling their engagement watches.
- Freya thinking that she knows someone that could help them.
- Melanie interested in hearing more about the Drinks Diva from Melanie as the prelude to being an investor.
- Jane complimenting Nicolette on letting go her frission for Kiri.
- Glen uncomfortable at Kiri questioning him about his past.
- Glen admitting he's scared of giving himself away to Kiri.
- Glen being caught red- handed looking through Kiri's box by Chloe.
Glen quickly explains to Chloe why he is in the house - waiting for Kiri as they are going out to dinner and was putting stuff back into the box after accidentally knocking it over. Chloe isn't sure whether to believe him or not but keeps quiet as the pair head out for dinner.
Amy is keen to know from Toadie whether Melanie is still going to buy into the van or not. On Melanie's behalf (because she's not in this episode), Toadie confirms that she is still interested but wants to do "her due diligence" by taking the van out first to see if there is potential. Amy suggests doing that tomorrow and wants Toadie to text Melanie now to confirm it since she needs the cash urgently for her fashion week entry fee.
As they drive to dinner, Glen compliments Kiri's singing this time because she knows the words of this song! Kiri has forgotten to pass on a message to the staff at work, so Glen offers to text on her behalf. However, as he gets his phone out, the photo he pinched from her box falls out of his pocket and does his best to not let her see what has happened.
As they feed Isla, Aaron isn't too confident that Freya's plan will work whereas David is hoping once they know who is blackmailing them, that they can do a deal.
All talk of the demand is quickly curtailed when Nicolette and Jane come into the kitchen - Jane isn't too happy Nicolette is concocting reasons to be with Kiri. And on that, Nicolette ignores what her mum has said and seeks permission from the boys to hold a welcome party for Kiri tomorrow, commenting that they look like they need a party too! Nicolette almost looks taken aback that David has said yes to her idea and rushes off to text Kiri.
Since Kiri didn't respond to Nicolette's text about her party, she interrupts Kiri's dinner with Glen to personally ask her instead. Kiri is a bit bemused given she met most of the neighbours at the party for Roxy and Kyle but agrees to come along.
Nicolette invites the passing Hendrix to the party too and he is up for it but will be going solo as Mackenzie is busy. Glen doesn't look too enthralled to be invited to the party by Kiri (and nor does Nicolette look impressed he's been invited) but Kiri hopes it helps the pair "break the ice a bit!"
Harold's café (next day)
Freya isn't exactly in the mood to converse with Levi when they run into each other in the café. She is nervously waiting for her brother to appear and moments after Levi leaves, Zane (in a wheelchair) arrives but it isn't exactly a warm reunion between the siblings.
Terese thinks Kiri won't be amused when she finds out that Glen has that photo of her. She strongly suggests he returns it when everyone is at the party at #32 - she will text him when the coast is clear and he's to use the spare key (Terese knows where its kept) so he can be in and out of the house in a flash.
It's not exactly free-flowing conversation between Freya and her brother. She mentions that Gareth has died, which he saw in the papers and that it mentioned she was there along with being part of the coronial investigation.
FREYA: It's been a pretty horrible time.
Zane and their parents are very anti-Gareth because he wrecked her life. Subtly, she brings up the fact Gareth is still ruining her life by leaving her in "a lot of debt" to "really horrible people." "What do they want from you?" Zane asks and the response back is "a lot of money" which she doesn't have. This is where she needs his help to ask the parents to loan her some money.
The guest of honour, along with Chloe and Terese arrive and Nicolette doesn't look too impressed that the housemates have brought something with them (a dessert). The trio chatting gives Terese the cover she needs to covertly text Glen to let him know it's safe to go into #24.
The boys decide to bail on the party, at least temporarily by heading inside on the pretence of a nappy change. While she was interrogating them, its allowed Chloe and Kiri to chat over cocktail making and Nicolette looks very unimpressed at her party not happening like she'd planned.
Zane is not happy at his sister - he (and the parents) had rather hoped the call from her would be to say she's sorry and asking to return to the family home, not a call wanting a loan of money. Freya tries to twist it so it appears Gareth kept her from them and she's now wised up to that fact. Turning on the waterworks, admitting to making the "worst mistake of my life" as well as her admission of missing the family so much brings Zane round and he's now much more friendlier to his sister.
After getting the text from Terese, Glen lets himself into #24 and double checks that the coast is clear before reluctantly putting the photo of Kiri back into her box.
The boys decide to totally bail on the party but as they leave the house, they find a note left on the car - it's the bank details of where the money has to be paid into by 6pm. Both are very peeved at missing the person delivering the note.
David sends Freya a text to say the have the bank details and hopes that her plan is working. Just as she finishes reading the text, she spots Levi entering the café. She apologises for her attitude earlier and explains to him why (meeting her brother). Although peeved why she didn't say anything, he does get why she was like that and reassures Freya that he will be there for her. Levi has to get back to work so they promise to catch up later where she than then tell him everything.
Freya goes back to her table where Zane is now back from the toilet. Its good news though, Zane will give her the money rather than asking the parents (he'll sort something out with them later). "You have no idea what that means," she gratefully tells him and he asks her not to be a stranger. She promises not to and that she plans to fix things with her parents too.
The welcome party is in full swing although Nicolette isn't too amused her plans aren't exactly working with Kiri! Jane ticks her daughter off for obsession on the one guest rather than attending to them all!
Ned is puzzled at a text from Montana asking that he leads the design team. Amy can't see what his issues are given he is "ridiculously talented" and orders Ned to "roll with it." All attention to that is out the window though when he spots Harlow and Corey arriving. Corey seems thrilled to be invited to a sample the "great Australian lifestyle" that he's heard so much about.
HENDRIX: Oh yeah. Yeah, we've got all the clichés out today - sunshine, pool, booze and even some traditional desserts!
Nicolette looks like it's Christmas morning when Kiri invites her to sit down - she thinks Nicolette deserves a break after organising a great party.
With Freya's contribution, the $50k has been transferred into the blackmailers account. The trio are very relieved but their happy attitude totally changes when they spot Dean arriving in a brand new car and conclude that he is the blackmailer.
DAVID: Who else could it be?!
The party has moved into the kitchen and is in full swing when Glen arrives. Kiri seems more interested in his arrival than with the party. "Why is he here?!" Chloe whines to the equally unamused Nicolette, who explains that it was Kiri who invited him. Neither can figure out why Kiri likes him and Chloe tells Nicolette about catching Glen looking through Kiri's stuff.
CHLOE: So creepy.
Both can't figure out, given Glen knows Kiri is gay, why he is hanging around her, and they are so concerned that they make a pact with each other to keep an eye out.
Lassiters car park
Dean is totally perplexed when David rushes up to him and has a go. "You want to call your hubby off sweetie?" he says to Aaron while walking away.
David is so incensed with Dean that he goes into his trouser pocked and pulls out a key and drags it down the side of the Alfa Romeo car scratching it!!! "What are you doing?!" Aaron asks but before David gets a chance to reply, Freya literally drags him away from the car and the car park.
The trio have arrived back at the house as the party has headed back outdoors. David is blasé about Dean knowing what he did as he doesn't think he'll go to the police after blackmailing them! Aaron does point out that they don't know for sure if he is the blackmailer and Freya adds in that they don't need any more trouble especially if Dean isn't the blackmailer.
Nicolette is happy to see them back just in time to hit the pool and before the trio fully re-join the party, Freya asks if they can relax and not think about Dean.
FREYA: We've given the money. As far as blackmail's concerned, that should be all good. Right?
Meanwhile Glen confirms to Terese that he's put the spare key back where it belongs. "You're a lifesaver," he says to her but she'd rather he doesn't have any more repeats!
Nicolette isn't amused that Hendrix hasn't pulled the cover off the pool. When he pulls the cover back, the water is redish in colour.
HENDRIX: That looks like blood!
