Number 32
Leo is the one who finds an unconscious Jane lying on the floor and calls for an ambulance.
Harold's café
After David checks how Kyle is going, both he along with Nicolette give him some advice ahead of his first chemo session happening. Aaron's tuppenceworth is that Kyle can stop them from chatting about it, but Kyle feels "its better to be prepped."
The atmosphere turns very chilly when Chloe comes over to check if Kyle is ready [for his chemo] and he tells her to take his seat as he's off to meet Roxy! It doesn't help when Chloe then admits to being Jane's co-conspirator for Isla's naming day party although in her defence, Chloe does admit she wasn't "entirely comfortable with the whole thing" but went along with it because Jane wanted to make up with them "so badly."
David gets a call from his brother to inform him about Jane, and even Nicolette looks shocked on hearing the news!
Lassiters hotel (Kyle's room)
Sheila drops in by to suggest to Kyle that ahead of chemo starting, they have a family get together... and much to her relief, Kyle is happy with her suggestion. She is also pleased to see that the couple are still using her honesty box idea, and Roxy affirms that they were Sheila's "best idea yet!"
Talking of the honesty boxes, Roxy has a new one for Kyle to read, which he does after Sheila leaves to finalise the meal. Kyle reads aloud what Roxy has written - she's worried about him starting chemo and asks if he is scared too? "Of course I am," Kyle admits and explains that its easier to think about the chemo "than everything else going on."
ROXY: I may not understand everything you're going through but I'm here and I'll try.
Amy's apartment
Amy is also very much relived to hear that Ned and Levi have a clean bill of health too, which means she can get ready for "Christmas party mode." Tentatively, she suggests that the three of them go to the party at the Flamingo Bar as friends rather than "as one of us dating the other." The boys aren't too keen on her suggestion however decide to go along with it and so the next discussion is costumes! Naturally, Amy wants to be Mary and Levi bags being joseph... leaving Ned to be the donkey after drawing the line at being baby Jesus!
The Waterhole
Kyle's latest chat is with Toadie and Karl. Toadie asks if he's still sore after the surgery (getting better) and Karl adds in that the testosterone patches will help him too, thus enabling Kyle to lead a normal life. That comment confuses Kyle because of the unknown - how he'll react to the hormones and how it affects his relationship with Roxy. Kyle also admits to not talking to Roxy about things.
KYLE: I don't think Roxy has any idea what's really in store for us. How can she when I can barely wrap my head around it. You know, all I keep thinking is that I'm not going to be man enough for her.
KARL: What's been taken from you does not define who you are or define your relationship with Roxy.
KYLE: Sex has always been a massive part for us. I wouldn't blame her if she didn't want me anymore.
TOADIE: Roxy loves you.
KARL: Just give her a chance to understand what's really worrying you.
Erinsborough Hospital
Nicolette is frantic with worry while she waits for news on Jane. Leo and Aaron are with her and Leo is just about to go and get David (he's helping treat Jane) when he conveniently arrives.
The Waterhole
Before Roxy goes off to see Kyle (he texted asking to see her), Sheila offers herself should Roxy also need to unload things.
ROXY: It will be a group effort to get him thought this.
Roxy's plan is to get Kyle to look at the positives and making sure his mind is focuses on the things he can look forward to in the future, hopefully that will make things "a bit easier to get through."
Erinsborough hospital
Nicolette is literally in Jane's face as she starts to wake up. Jane is confused over where she is, so Nicolette explains that she is in hospital with concussion after falling off a ladder and hitting her head. The thought of the potential consequences results in the pair kissing and making up with one another.
Lassiters hotel (Kyle's room)
Roxy is doing as she said to Sheila - suggesting to Kyle a post-treatment fishing trip he could make with the boys... or they could have a romantic getaway instead. When she brings that up, Kyle asks if she's really thought what it means for them.
KYLE: Rox, what if I can't satisfy you in the bedroom anymore?
ROXY: Hey, I've done my research. If it doesn't happen naturally or spontaneously, there are things that you can try.
KYLE: Is that going to be enough for you?
"Of course!" Roxy is quick to reply and to remind him too he's "talking to the queen of creativity here!" Kyle hopes she isn't saying things "to make me feel better," he would rather hear "the truth."
ROXY: I'm being honest.
She isn't sure if he believes her, and again he's quick to confirm he does... but is sure reality will be a lot tougher from what she imagines things to be.
ROXY: Hey, stop. I love you.
KYLE: I love you.
ROXY: Whatever happens, we're going to get through this together okay.
Amy's apartment
Levi and Amy are in disagreement over where is best to find Ned's donkey costume, leading to Ned telling him to be the donkey! Amy can sense that things are a bit fraught and heads off to get lunch for everyone.
While she is away, Levi tries to find out what is up with Ned and gets from him that he's not okay with the polyamorous situation, however Ned plans to suck it up though because he wants to be with Amy.
LEVI: Look, this thing only works if you're one hundred percent into it.
NED: I'm trying to be right, but things changed when you wanted to see other people.
LEVI: Oh come on, it's not that simple and you know it! Look, I like Amy... I'm falling for her man. And if you get it your way then the only person who's going to be happy here is you.
Erinsborough hospital
David and Aaron are in with Jane (and Nicolette) seeing on how she is. The news is good though, Jane is going to be fit enough to be discharged tomorrow. Nicolette insists on Jane coming back to #32 rather than going back to Clive's place. David backs Nicolette up too by adding in that he (as well as a former nurse) can make sure she is okay, but Jane feels emotionally its better to go to Clive's. Aaron and David so want Jane home that they suggest everyone airs their "dirty laundry" so that they can "start fresh."
Taking a spoon in his hand (the quick alternative to Jane's talking stick), Aaron apologises to Nicolette for covering up the fact Chloe was having doubts about their relationship.
AARON: I lied out of family loyalty and it was wrong.
David regrets keeping quiet too before the spoon is passed over to Nicolette. She apologises for running out and making them think they'd never meet their daughter.
NICOLETTE: It is the worst thing I have ever done in my life.
David takes the spoon and admits to Nicolette that he knew about Paul paying her (before she returned) but kept quiet. Jane is shocked to hear that one and David explains why - they'd just got Isla and thought things would blow up should Nicolette return.
NICOLETTE: That's messed up!
DAVID: I know.
NICOLETTE: But I can't get on my high horse. If you ran away with bub, I'd probably have done the same thing.
Jane now takes over the spoon and apologises to them all for invading their privacy and promises not to do so again.
JANE: The honesty in this room, I think Isla's in good hands.
The Flamingo Bar
Levi and Ned escort Amy to work and they offer to help Amy get ready for the party. Before they get started, Karl drops by to see if he can leave some leaflets in the bar - apparently there has been "a nasty case of the downstairs itch" breaking out and thus Karl is doing a public safety announcement by getting some flyers done.
"This can't be because of us?!" a worried Levi asks the other two after Karl has left. Ned doesn't think so admits if Mick says something, "it won't look good."
The Waterhole
Sheila, Levi, Roxy, Kyle and Toadie are gathered for the special family dinner. Kyle makes it clear he only wants "good vibes tonight!" ahead of starting chemo tomorrow.
KYLE: In fact, I only want to hear funny stories.
TOADIE: Funny tragic or funny ha-ha?
KYLE: Well if you can give me both, you get full Canning status!
Toadie is telling everyone about an outbreak of the "downstairs itch" and how Karl's spreading the word "far and wide" to make sure everyone is safe. Levi looks like he wants the ground to open up and swallow him listening to Toadie! Sheila asks if you also get a red rash... while looking straight at Levi! "You're going to have to ask Karl that," is Toadie's innocent reply but the penny drops when Sheila quickly grabs the menu's from everyone and heads to the bar on the pretence of ordering for everyone!
Number 32
Chloe and Leo arrive to see how Jane is after her accident. Nicolette sincerely thanks Leo for helping Jane before then admitting that resenting the pair of them is tiring her out, energy that should be reserved for Isla.
NICOLETTE: So I was just hoping we could have a clean slate.
Chloe thinks Christmas has arrived, at hearing that! Nicolette then adds that she would like it if they "could move on and rebuild our friendship."
NICOLETTE: Forgiveness has to be easier than feeling angry all the time.
CHLOE: I hear from smart and happy people that's usually the way.
LEO: Yeah, and I could certainly use a few less enemies.
After Nicolette leaves to go back to the hospital, the pair look very relieved at what has just happened.
LEO: Nothing on her bad side is worse than being on dads.
CHLOE: She hates well. She loves even better.
LEO: Yeah, I'm not sure that's what she was offering.
CHLOE: Not right now, but hopefully friendship is a good start on the road to a relationship.
Erinsborough Hospital
It's party central in Jane's room when Nicolette, David, Aaron and Isla come visiting complete with streamers, champagne and light sabres!
NICOLETTE: We are bringing Isla's naming day to you.
Despite the jovial atmosphere, Jane is down the rest of the family aren't celebrating too, but there is promises to do something official later on to make up for that fact.
NICOLETTE: Don't listen to them! This is Isla's core unit. All we need to make the perfect naming day for little Isla Fay Tanaka-Brennan.
Lassiters hotel (Kyle's room)
After having a great night, Kyle and Roxy retreat to the hotel room. Roxy tells Kyle to look at the box that is lying on the table (one of Sheila's honesty boxes). "When did you slip that one in there?" Kyle asks after opening the lid and seeing what is inside the box. Roxy explains it was when she sneaked out, and confirms that it is a question, one she's wanted to ask for a while now.
KYLE: Better not be that you're feeling itchy!
"Hurry up and open it please," she tells him, and Kyle takes the note out and starts to read...
KYLE:(reading) Will you marry me?
Kyle then turns around and Roxy is down on one knee and asks if she is serious!
ROXY: I've never been more serious in my life! You wanted to know whether I'm ready to handle whatever the future holds, this is your answer. Kyle Eugene Francis Canning, will you marry me?
And we'll need to tune in tomorrow to hear what Kyle's answer is!
