Lighthouse Lookout
Paul envelopes Glen in a big hug, which Glen doesn't reciprocate. Paul starts rambling about how good it is to see him, then asks why Glen's not in his wheelchair, but Glen replies he hasn't needed it in a long time. Paul then excitedly tells Glen that Lucy is with him and encourages him to come and see her. Glen agrees, but has looked wary throughout their entire exchange.
Harold's Café
Harlow finds out from Ned and Amy that Levi is dating Felicity, and that Amy and Felicity are catching up for a drink soon. "I think that it's better to be chummy," Amy says, "that way I'll be back in Levi's good books." Speak of the devils, Levi and Felicity walk in and Felicity says how much she's looking forward to getting to know Amy. Levi adds that he appreciates the effort they're putting in. "If it makes you happy, why wouldn't we?" Amy smiles. Harlow clocks a strange look exchanged between Ned and Felicity after Amy's remark.
Conference Hotel Exterior
Lucy finds Terese nursing a takeaway coffee and asks if she had a rough night. She then notices Terese isn't wearing her wedding ring, but Terese says it wasn't intentional and that it's probably in her room. The two women then go through very different states of shock when Paul suddenly rocks up with Glen (or 'Don' as Terese knows him). Lucy is ecstatic and gives Glen a hug, which he happily returns. Paul makes introductions for Terese, who is still standing there in disbelief as she learns 'Don' is actually Paul's half-brother, Glen. She doesn't look happy she's been duped but pretends they haven't met before. Glen has the good sense to look sheepish. Lucy and Paul are keen to have a catch up with Glen, but Terese bows out.
Lassiters Complex
Harlow finds Hendrix and Mackenzie sitting outside of Harold's and jokes that it's good to see them finally emerge from the bedroom. They let her know it wasn't voluntary, though: Toadie, Karl and Susan have all been discussing their sex life and it got weird. Hendrix and Mackenzie then ask Harlow to let them know if any good deals crop up at the hotel as they're keen to have some privacy. Ned strolls past them and Harlow says a hasty goodbye to her friends before following him. She's keen to know what the look between Ned and Felicity meant earlier, wondering if they're secretly hooking up. Ned doesn't want to divulge the actual truth, but Harlow badgers him enough that he admits his 'break up Amy & Levi' plan with Felicity.
HARLOW: If it's going to happen you may as well rip off the bandaid.
NED: (uncomfortable) Okay, now that I say it out loud it does sound a little shady. You think I should call it off?
HARLOW: No, no way! I think it's genius. Just let me know if you need any help.
NED: You want in on this?
HARLOW: (casual) Yeah. I feel like this sort of scheme would really work with a bit of outside support, so hit me up if you need me.
She gives him a smile as she walks away. Ned appears confused by her eagerness to meddle.
Paul's Hotel Room
The first thing Paul and Lucy want to know is how Glen is walking again. Paul asks if it was a medical breakthrough, but Glen stuns them when he says his initial diagnosis was wrong.
GLEN: I wasted a whole heap of time plonked in that chair thinking that was it.
LUCY: Are you serious?
GLEN: When I left Erinsborough, Karen pushed me to get a second opinion. We were lucky enough to find a gun doctor.
PAUL: Did you need surgery?
GLEN: Intensive rehab.
Glen says he does odd jobs here and there for work and travels a lot along the coast. Paul asks if that's why he's near the conference, and Glen nods and says he just wrapped up a gig. It was just a "total coincidence" he ran into his family.
LUCY: What about Karen and Rose, do you still keep in touch?
GLEN: Oh yeah, from time to time. Actually, Karen and I got married but we split up a while ago.
PAUL: Oh, I'm sad to hear that.
GLEN: Don't be, these things happen. Case in point: you're not with Chrissy anymore.
LUCY: (chuckling) Paul's had many wives since then. And for the record, he and Terese are separated. So that little introduction about her being his wife before? Take it with a grain of salt.
PAUL: I know it sounds weird, Glen, but I really have thought a lot about you over the years wondering where and how you were. I always hoped that you would reach out to me.
GLEN: I was never gonna do that.
PAUL: (his face falling) Yeah, fair enough. I wasn't very kind to you back then. I'm so deeply sorry for that, Glen. I really am. But now that you are here I feel like I've been given a chance to right the past wrongs. I'm going to take it - I mean it! From now on, I want you to be part of my life.
Glen looks as though he doesn't believe a single word coming from Paul's mouth.
The Waterhole
Amy chats to Felicity about her previous work as a flight attendant, but says her passion really lies with fashion. Felicity admits she doesn't have the first clue when it comes to fancy clothes. What she'd really like to talk about, however, is what Levi likes to get up to in the bedroom. Amy instantly gets uncomfortable, but Felicity keeps talking, telling Amy that she and Levi haven't slept together yet but she'd love any "hot tips". Dying on the inside, Amy says she's going to get them another drink and races over to the bar. It's Felicity's turn to feel awkward when Levi suddenly appears, wanting to know how her catch up with Amy is going. "Everything's going perfectly," Felicity says, swapping painted on smiles with Amy across the pub.
Paul's Hotel Room
When Glen returns from the bathroom, Lucy tells him Paul had to step out and make a few calls. However, this gives them the perfect chance to have a proper chat. Even though it's been quite a while since they've seen one another, Lucy can still read him like a book.
LUCY: We used to be pretty close.
GLEN: Almost too close.
LUCY: (laughing along with him) You think?
Lucy can see that Glen's unhappy and wants him to tell her the truth about everything.
GLEN: Karen only left recently. It's the worst thing that's ever happened; worse than my accident. Being alone got me thinking about family. Me, Karen and Rose - also my first family I got the boot from.
LUCY: I'm so sorry, Glen.
GLEN: I Googled you the other day, I do that from time to time just to check you're doing okay. Found out you were coming to this conference, so that's why I'm here.
LUCY: Did you know Paul was going to be here too?
GLEN: Not until I saw him. Anyway, it's been good seeing you, Luce. That's made me happy.
LUCY: Makes me happy too.
Lassiters Complex
Ned and Levi are waiting out the front of the pub for Amy and Felicity. Ned asks if they had a good time and Felicity says they did, but Amy offers a somewhat forced "loved every second of it". Levi then quickly ducks into the pub to use the bathroom, and Amy leaves to make some calls, which gives Ned and Felicity the perfect opportunity to debrief. Felicity tells Ned that no matter what Amy wanted to talk about, she kept bringing the conversation back to what Levi likes in bed. Although they're the ones who put the plan in motion, Ned and Felicity both look pretty uneasy about what they're doing. Felicity then says she's played her part, now it's Ned's turn. "I'm working on something with the help of a friend," Ned replies.
Terese's Hotel Room
A knock at the door interrupts Terese's search for her missing wedding ring. "Well if it isn't lying Robinson number two," she snits when she finds Glen at the door. "I'm sorry I said my name was Don," Glen replies, tentatively following her into the room. "I tried to be as truthful as I could in the circumstances. Don's my nickname, short for Donnelly." This appeases Terese only slightly, as she's still irked that Glen already knew who she was when he found her on the beach. But Glen says that's not the complete truth - he'd seen her and Paul around the hotel but thought they were only work colleagues who didn't get along. Terese is alarmed when she thinks he deliberately followed her to the beach, but Glen promises he was just out for a walk.
GLEN: I probably would have kept walking but you were in such a bad way. And later when you started venting, it twigged that you and Paul were more than just business partners. I should have come clean but it was just awkward.
TERESE: Well I'm not sure I believe you. It's the sort of tale your brother would spin.
GLEN: Hey, I am not like Paul. Not one bit. I just need you to know that I'm really sorry.
He notices that she's anxiously rubbing her hand and Terese says she lost her wedding ring. It's nowhere to be found in the room, so it must be on the beach. Glen then promises that he'll keep the secret about her relapse, which Terese appreciates. She says she's going to an AA meeting as soon as she gets home, but with everything going on at the moment it's incredibly tempting never to return to her real life.
Paul's Hotel Room
Paul is hurt that Glen didn't even say goodbye to him before he left. Lucy tells him that he can't force Glen's hand in this, he'll reconnect with Paul in his own way. Paul then wonders if he should extended his stay even longer so he'll have more time to talk with Glen, but Lucy thinks that's a bad idea. "I've got his contact details, and he's got mine," she states, "that is enough for now. If he wants something more he will be in touch". Paul's disappointed but reluctantly agrees that he's been far too gung-ho with his approach so far. He was just excited to have some light in amongst all the darkness.
LUCY: You could use a distraction.
PAUL: No, I could use a brother. Dad would have been so happy. I mean me and Glen, finally bonding.
LUCY: He would have been over the moon. But for now you need to leave Glen alone and get back to Erinsborough. That's what you need to do.
The Flamingo Bar Exterior
Felicity wants to know if Levi is okay because he's been quiet ever since his cousin called. Levi figures since Felicity doesn't know that many people connected to him, it's okay to divulge that his cousin has cancer. She's shocked to hear that the operation is tomorrow and asks if his cousin will be all right. Levi hopes so, then begs Felicity not to tell anyone, which she promises she won't. Amy sees them together while she's serving customers and notes their closeness. Harlow then strides over to Levi to inform him that he's the winner of the free Lassiters giveaway. Levi's confused since he didn't enter any competitions, but Harlow 'explains' that it's an on-the-spot thing.
LEVI: Okay, so what did I win?
HARLOW: A one-night stay in our superior suite! But it's only valid for tonight.
Mackenzie overhears from where she's sitting and doesn't look impressed that Harlow chose Levi for the hotel room. Amy also can't help but look perturbed by how excited Levi and Felicity are, especially when Levi invites Felicity to stay with him and she gladly accepts.
Conference Hotel Exterior
Terese and Glen return from the beach after a fruitless search for the wedding ring. They run into Lucy and Paul, and Glen makes up an excuse that he just happened to bump into Terese and got chatting. Paul lets them know he's heading back to Erinsborough for real today, and apologises to Terese for causing her any extra stress. But he's still so glad he got to see Glen. Paul shakes Glen's hand and says it's good he got to say goodbye, but that he's always welcome to visit Erinsborough any time he likes. Glen doesn't answer, but doesn't appear excited by the offer. Paul heads to his room to pack, and Lucy asks Glen and Terese if they want to have lunch together.
Terese's Hotel Room
Letting them into the room, Terese tells Lucy and Glen to have a seat while she freshens up in the bathroom. When they're alone, Lucy can see that Glen's in need of another chat and tells him to open up. Glen confesses that he doesn't trust Paul as far as he can kick him, but Lucy thinks Paul's being genuine. She understands why Glen's wary, though, and lets him know she warned Paul to dial back the intensity a bit to give him some space.
GLEN: He wouldn't have a clue what space is. Terese has told me what's going on. She's asked him to stay away, he's trying to weasel his way back into her life. It's no good, Luce.
LUCY: I get where you're coming from.
GLEN: It just boils my blood that he's still hurting people just like he hurt me.
LUCY: I was worried about him and Terese as well. I thought he actually lied about seeing you so he could just stay here. But as it turns out, he was actually telling the truth. So I do believe that he is genuine about spending some time with you. And he's promised to leave Terese alone. It's sweet that you're worried about Terese, but she can hold her own.
GLEN: You reckon? I think Terese might be more vulnerable than people think.
LUCY: Well how would you know? You've only just met.
GLEN: I guess I'm just good at reading people. The good and the bad.
Lassiters Complex
Harlow finds Ned and asks if the hotel plan worked. In a subdued mood, Ned says that Amy was really upset and jealous so he guesses it did. Harlow doesn't understand why Ned's not more excited, but Ned says he just feels mean now for making Amy sad. Harlow screws up her nose with a displeased "ugh" as he walks off. She's soon hounded by Hendrix and Mackenzie, who want to know why the free hotel stay wasn't slung their way given their current circumstances. Hendrix wonders if it's because they used to date, but Harlow shakes her head and says they don't need to know the real reason.
MACKENZIE: We want to or we'll assume the worst!
HARLOW: All right fine, fine, if you must know the room wasn't free, it was paid for by Ned.
Amy just so happens to be walking past at that exact moment and stops in her tracks when she overhears.
AMY: What?
HARLOW: Excuse me, but this is a private conversation.
AMY: You said Ned paid for Levi's room. Am I wrong?
HARLOW: Yes, you are.
Amy clearly doesn't believe her and is hurt by Ned's deceit.
Conference Hotel Exterior
Terese and Glen are heading back to the hotel after lunch. Terese asks if he's going to take Lucy up on her offer to stick around till she goes home, and Glen thinks he might. Glen then wonders what Terese's plans are. Terese says she has a lot of support back at home, but it's also hard being around people who are "so forgiving" of Paul. "Wish I could forgive him," Glen says, "but after what I've been through it's hard."
TERESE: Just for the record, whenever Paul talked about you it was always with regret.
GLEN: Words are cheap.
TERESE: Especially when he never acts on them.
GLEN: Well, if I don't see you around over the next few days, good luck going back to that.
TERESE: Thanks, I'll be fine.
She gives him a pat on the shoulder and walks away. Glen watches her go.
The Flamingo Bar Exterior
Ned asks Amy if she's ready to head off for their date, but Amy sullenly replies that they're not going anywhere. "Not until you tell me why you booked a hotel room for Levi and Felicity," she adds, glaring daggers at him. Ned is sprung.
