The Waterhole
Terese is trying to convince Paul about the merits of bidding to host the short film festival at Lassiters, but he is not being won over. He is though encouraged to see how well Harlow is getting on with Jesse, remarking that even though he isn't "the sharpest tool in the shed" it could be just what the lass needs right now. "You're dreaming," is Terese's take but Paul thinks Jesse could be the person to take Harlow into the new direction she is sorely needing to get to.
Lassiters Lake
Karl is relieved to finally find Toadie after he took off from the nursery. Toadie explains that when he saw Melanie at the nursery, he remembered seeing Sonya in the exact same position. Karl tries to reassure him that it is normal to have memories of Sonya, which Toadie does seem to get... but prefers his reaction to be more down to having a stressful day.
The Flamingo Bar
Ned admits he is glad things are normal between himself and Amy as they work together on the festival contract. Given they've come up with nothing, Roxy suggests they make an ad showing off how great the complex would be. Amy is won over and since Ned has the equipment, they plan to start filming in the morning.
Number 22
When she gets home from work, Paul calls Harlow into the kitchen where they offer her the chance of being Terese's EA. "I've never done anything like that before," is Harlow's initial response to the proposition, but they reassure her that she does possess the skills and so she agrees to think about it.
Number 30
Toadie is clearing up after the kids when Amy (and Melanie) arrive home. She orders the pair to talk and heads off to her room to allow them to do so.
Melanie confirms she's still upset after the 'laughing incident' and is therefore surprised to hear him admit that actually, he really likes her laugh and rather than mocking her that day (as she thought), he was actually "celebrating" her.
The Waterhole (next day)
To help convince Harlow to take the job, Paul's 'conveniently' arranged for her to chat with Jesse on the pretence of feeding any concerns up to management, something the EA would do.
The Flamingo Bar
Roxy is selling Terese (as well as the trailing Ned and Amy) her vision for the advert - following love hearts... sorry love birds aka Ned and Amy around the complex! "Don't offend the hotel," seems to be the only comment Terese says on hearing the plan before she leaves for a meeting... and to clean herself free of the red hearts that Roxy threw over her!
Roxy then realises that her plan might be "insensitive" for Ned by bringing up bad memories of Scarlett and even offers to abandon her plan, but he trusts her, so wants to keep the plan as she envisaged.
The Waterhole
Harlow admits to Jesse that she thinks Paul has another ulterior motive in getting them to chat too - setting them up since he disapproves of her long-distance relationship with Brent. Jesse wants to stay... for the free feed Paul promised! They start chatting over how she is going to make things work with Brent when he accidentally knocks his glass of water all over himself! When Jesse heads to the toilets to try and dry off, this gives Harlow a chance to pine more over Brent by looking at a photo of them on her phone!
Lassiters Complex
Toadie joins the K's outside Harold's and Karl admits he's told Susan about what happened the day before. After acknowledging that he does think about Sonya all the time, Toadie describes this one as "a panic attack" and doesn't know why it happened this time. Karl wonders if it was the location - given the nursery was specific to Sonya and Toadie admits it's the first time he's seen Melanie there. Susan reminds him that Sonya wanted him "to move on", thus it isn't a "betrayal" however he wonders why he didn't get this with Dee or Audrey?
TOADIE: Why is this happening now?
The Waterhole
Harlow thinks Paul and Terese were checking up on them when they briefly popped into the bar... although I think it was more to avoid being covered in love hearts by Roxy! Jesse thinks its nice that "they care" about her especially given the "rough time" she is going through. Getting back to the EA position, Harlow is on the verge of rejecting it, so he comes up with a good reason for her to accept the job - she can help push more green initiatives, something she'd not thought of before. Despite how they were 'forced upon' each other, both admit to having enjoyed themselves.
Lassiters rotunda
The K's and Toadie have relocated themselves to the rotunda to carry on their conversation. To answer his question, Susan thinks that Toadie's reaction was a sign that he does feel more for Melanie than he did for either Dee or Audrey.
As if on cue, they spot Melanie walking towards them and the K's suggest that he talks about it with her, but the thought is having the opposite effect, freaking him out!
Susan recognises the label on the bag Melanie is carrying and she explains about trying to go for 'a corporate look' in her forthcoming job interview.
TOADIE: You're perfect the way you are.
MELANIE: Aren't you a sweetheart!
She then asks why there are love hearts all over the ground?
Lassiters Complex
The filming continues and both Amy and Ned are giving a very 'wooden' performance especially when it is obvious they are supposed to get personal with each other! Roxy calls "cut" and goes over to find out what the issue is, which Amy puts down to being "too cheesy."
ROXY: Its meant to be cheesy. Its pistachio!
Pastiche is apparently what Roxy should have been describing it as and she's had another brainwave too - she wants Ned to strip for the "big sexy finale!" She then tells the pair the plan - Amy is to write (using lipstick) 'what the heart wants' on Ned's back which is then revealed after Ned takes his shirt off.
ROXY: Just trust me!
Number 22
"Wouldn't be Roxy without someone getting their gear off!" is Paul's first comment after watching what Roxy has made. Terese seems impressed with it though, even if Roxy still wants to do a bit more editing.
Paul is at least honest, although more due to a slip of the tongue, when Harlow arrives home that he set her up for a date with Jesse, but is quick to add that the EA job is legitimate. She surprises them by admitting that the date was "surprisingly alright." Getting back to the job, Harlow plans on accepting the job offer too on condition she can suggest more green initiatives that are cost effective. Both accept her terms for coming on board and are then flummoxed to hear that she plans to break up with Brent!
PAUL: That's two very good decisions you've made today!
When Harlow heads upstairs, Paul is all cock-a-hoop at his plan coming to fruition!
The Waterhole
Melanie and Toadie are playing darts while she talks to him about her job offers - while she's been offered a job, she wants to keep looking for something better. Toadie's dart throwing goes all to kilter when Melanie suggests that since she liked working in the nursery, she could work there more until a better job comes along! To help convince him to let her work there, she points out that while he is the owner, he doesn't actually work there. "You really are off your game today," Melanie innocently comments when another of Toadie's darts goes astray at her talking about working at the nursery! Realising he needs to get out of the pub pronto, Toadie invents an imaginary job at the office that he suddenly needs to attend to.
Number 22
Terese decides for a wee chat with Harlow to make sure that she is breaking up with Brent for the right reasons - admitting that she was "very pleased" to hear Harlow had called things off with him. Harlow reiterates that she doesn't want to be "a starter girlfriend" and adds that their parting was an ending in all but name. "And Jesse helped you come to that conclusion?" Terese asks.
Harold's Caféacute;
Despite having had a big eat with Harlow, Jesse is up for more food with Curtis. You could just about cut the UST between the pair who have been secretly checking each other out!
Number 22
Terese is stunned to hear Harlow proclaim that Jesse is "a lot smarter than people think" and that he gives out good advice too - explaining that his points helped convince her to take the EA position. "I truly did enjoy his company," Harlow admits once they got over the fact Paul had set them up and concedes too why Paul thought they'd be good together.
Terese: (shocked) What, you're starting to see him in a romantic light?!
HARLOW: He's good boyfriend material.
Harold's Caféacute;
Back with Curtis and Jesse and "something hot" isn't quite on the menu for Jesse but someone else most definitely is!
Number 22
Terese double checks that Harlow means that Jesse is good boyfriend material for her? "Let's just say I'm open to it," is Harlow's reply.
Harold's Caféacute;
Given how the pair have been staring at each other, Jesse suggests that they go elsewhere! Curtis can't get out of that seat quick enough!!!
Number 22
"That's great sweetheart," Terese says in reply to Harlow's last response... little knowing that Harlow is sending her (and Paul) up the wrong garden path!!!
