Number 26 Backyard
Sheila and Kyle survey the damage Levi left in his wake and find Bea's letter crumpled up on the ground. Sheila has no qualms about reading it, and after a short moral deliberation, Kyle asks for the details. Sheila says the general gist of it is that Bea's sorry she couldn't give Levi what he needed and that she hopes he finds the kind of love he deserves. Kyle says he'll call around and ask if anyone's seen Levi since he's not answering his phone.
Harold's Café
Turns out Levi is busy sadly staring at Mackenzie and Hendrix having a wonderful, loved-up time chatting with each other. The new couple are trying to work out what to do with their evening and decide on clubbing so they can have a dance battle. Nicolette serves Levi at the counter and is surprised when he orders a burger and fries - a far cry from his keto lifestyle. Nic's also concerned when she notices Levi has hurt his hand but is acting blasé about it. She offers to sit and chat with him for a while, but Levi says he'd rather be left alone.
Number 22
Terese finds Harlow moping on the couch, having a cup of tea in the Melbourne mug from Brent. Harlow's upset because the one week 'no contact' rule with Brent is up but he's not answering any of her calls or messages. She worries that the lack of response means Brent can't be bothered with a long distance relationship and doesn't have the guts to tell her. Terese points out that Harlow is catastrophising, just like Brent did when Harlow went to London. She adds that there could be any number of reasons why Brent hasn't responded yet and urges Harlow to give him a chance.
The Waterhole
Jane wants Clive to stay with her for a few days while his bathroom is being renovated, but Clive thinks he'll be imposing too much. They find Chloe and float the idea with her. When Clive senses that Chloe looks uneasy, he says he's already booked a room at a hotel so there's no harm done, but Jane tells him it's a waste of money. Wanting to make everyone happy, Chloe says it's not an imposition but they should run it by Nicolette first. Jane supposes they should, especially after putting her daughter through "the pool incident". In fact, they should go over to Harold's and ask her right now. Clive opts to sit that conversation out, so Chloe offers to go with Jane as back up.
Number 30
Mackenzie and Hendrix are talking more about their clubbing plans and find Yashvi relaxing on the couch. Mac asks how she's going now that Bea's gone, but Yashvi says she's happy for her friend. Vi's face falls when Hendrix brings up Sheila 2, so she changes the subject back to the couple's evening plans. Hendrix grins and says they're going to twenty-four places in twenty-four hours, but Mackenzie admits that's a tad too ambitious. Yashvi gets a bit over it when Hendrix and Mackenzie get too cutesy and wrapped up in themselves and quickly escapes the house before they notice.
Lassiters Complex
Sheila and Kyle track down Levi finishing up his lunch outside Harold's. They tell him they found the remains of the billy cart and are worried about his out of character behaviour. But Levi points out that his ex-girlfriend just left town in the car he bought her, so it's a day of firsts all around. Sheila's disappointed when she realises what meal Levi had and expresses her concern about him pushing his limits and possibly causing another seizure. She urges him to come home so they can find something to take his mind off his troubles, but Kyle quickly takes her aside when he can see Levi getting frustrated. In private, Sheila growls at Kyle as she thinks Levi was just about to accept her offer, but Kyle says he just saved her from a fight. To alleviate Sheila's concern, Kyle promises he'll stay with Levi and keep an eye on him.
Jane and Chloe follow Nicolette as she clears tables out the back of Harold's. Nicolette isn't happy when Jane explains that Clive would be staying only a few days, or a week at most. She tells her mum that she doubts Chloe will go for the idea, but Jane happily replies that Chloe's already given her blessing. So Nicolette has to go along with the plan too. When Jane rushes off to tell Clive the good news, Nicolette tells Chloe she needs to get better at saying no to Jane.
CHLOE: Come on, they're really cute together. And it's a chance for you to get to know your potential step-dad a little bit better.
NICOLETTE: Oh, trust me, I know more about Clive than I ever wanted to. (Chloe giggles) You may laugh now, but let's see who's laughing at the end of the week!
Number 22 Backyard
Ned is trying to sketch something but his heart's not in it. He picks up another sketch book and opens it to the page where he drew Sheila 2. After a brief moment of contemplation, Ned puts the book away just as Yashvi comes to see him. She wants to continue the conversation they were having earlier. Yashvi says they've always been so good together but now it's like they're not even on the same page.
YASHVI: I want to know what went wrong. And what was missing between us that made you turn to Sheila and what we can do to make sure that doesn't happen again.
Number 30
Harlow complains to Mackenzie that even if Brent's phone wasn't working he could still email, or even borrow someone else's phone. Harlow then remembers that she originally came over to catch up with Mackenzie, not moan about her problems again, and asks what's going on in Mac's life. On cue, Hendrix arrives for his date with Mackenzie, but feels bad when he thinks he's interrupted something. Mackenzie wants to reschedule their plans so she can hang out with Harlow, but Harlow won't hear it and insists that Mackenzie head out and have fun with Hendrix.
Number 24
Nicolette arrives home to find that Clive has brought some of his plants over as well, including his pride and joy, Herbert. She mentions how quick the move in time was, but Clive says not having a toilet is very motivating. Further 'fun' is revealed when Nicolette notices how cold the house is.
CHLOE: Clive prefers a cooler climate.
CLIVE: It's not me so much as Herbert.
NICOLETTE: Herbert?
CLIVE: (caressing the plant) He really struggles in anything over 18.7 degrees.
CHLOE: (peacekeeping with Nic) You could wear that new jumper I got you.
NICOLETTE: It's fine, I will get used to 17.8 degrees.
CLIVE: 18.7.
JANE: And you will, I promise. I used to have to rug up whenever I was at Clive's but now we just snuggle more!
Clive and Jane head to Jane's room to hang up his suits, leaving Nicolette to moan about living in "subzero temperatures" because of a houseplant. Chloe reminds her it's only for a few days and holds her arms out for a cuddle to keep Nic warm.
Number 22 Backyard
Yashvi asks if Ned's connection with Sheila was just about art, but Ned says it was more than that. He was also still trying to understand why moving in to a place together with Yashvi wasn't even on her radar. She reminds him it was because her parents were moving to Sydney, but Ned points out she didn't even tell him that she was trying to find a way to go with them.
NED: I get it; you couldn't wrap your head around a life without your parents in it.
YASHVI: So this comes back to you thinking that I'm too immature?
NED: No, it comes back to the fact we're in different places in our lives. Sheila filled the gap I think I needed at the time.
YASHVI: You know keeping that a secret wasn't exactly mature either.
NED: I didn't think I could talk to you without hurting you.
YASHVI: Why, because I'm too much of a kid to be able to handle it?
NED: Stop putting words in my mouth! I'm trying to fix this.
YASHVI: Are you?
NED: Yes!
YASHVI: You were my first boyfriend. I can't help but think you still see me as the schoolgirl I was when we first got together.
NED: That's not - I don't. I won't.
YASHVI: What if we're always at different places in our lives?
NED: That's why we're talking about this.
But Yashvi's had enough talking for now and leaves.
The Flamingo Bar
Levi isn't having the best time hanging out with Kyle and is relieved when Yashvi walks in. He invites her to have a drink with him, his shout. Levi then dismisses Kyle from babysitting duties and says Yashvi will keep an eye on him now. Kyle passes Harlow walking into the bar on his way out. Yashvi tells Levi she's going to need at least three drinks for the mood she's in, so Levi heads to the bar and chats with Harlow while he's there. He invites her to drink with him and Yashvi. Harlow thinks her sad sack mood might kill their vibe, but Levi says that's exactly the kind of vibe they're going for.
The Waterhole
Sheila gives Chloe and Nicolette their bottle of wine to take home. She gets a text from Sheila 2, who tells her they've just made it to Mount Gambier and booked a motel for the night. Sheila isn't sure what to text back because she still wants to throttle Bea for deserting Levi, and Nicolette admits she's seen how badly Levi's taking the break-up. Chloe says it might take some time but Levi should bounce back. Changing the topic, Sheila says she saw Clive going in to their house earlier with Herbert. The girls tell her he's staying for a few nights while his bathroom is being renovated. When they tell her the wine is for movie night, Sheila gets a smirk on her face and asks if Clive's already seen the film. Nic says she doesn't think so, becoming concerned when Sheila won't tell them why that will be a problem.
The girls pass Kyle on their way out, who heads to his gran at the bar. Sheila's cranky when she realises Kyle's left his post with Levi, but Kyle says Yashvi's with him now. "She's a cop - she won't let him get into trouble," he adds.
The Flamingo Bar
The trio are having a great time getting stuck into their fancy drinks. "By the way," says Yashvi, "I'm a police officer. I carry a gun to work. He is an unemployed artist, and I'm the immature one?" Plus there was the time Scarlett came to town and Ned wasn't exactly making mature moves then either. Drunk Levi puts his two cents in and agrees that Ned's being a massive pain in the butt right now, but at least he's here and he's trying.
LEVI: You guys have a chance to work things out.
HARLOW: That's a good point. I would give anything to be back with Brent.
LEVI: Do you love him?
YASHVI: Yeah, I do.
LEVI: So talk to the guy! Look, I would kill to have a chance with Bea. Not literally - I am a cop as well.
HARLOW: Same with Brent.
YASHVI: Yeah you guys are right. I should be focusing on the positives not the negatives.
They both encourage her to go back to Ned and say everything she wants to say. And to make sure he knows he'd be an idiot to lose her. Yashvi's keen, but she's worried because she promised she'd keep an eye on Levi.
LEVI: As if I'm going to get into trouble with Harlow sitting here.
HARLOW: Thanks, I think.
Levi promises they're going to finish up their current drinks and head home anyway, so Yashvi might as well go see Ned. After Yashvi leaves, Harlow passes Vi's half-empty drink over to Levi for him to polish off.
Number 22
Ned's packing away some of his art stuff into a plastic container, but can't help taking another look at the Sheila sketch before he puts that away too. Terese checks in with him and assures him that Yashvi will eventually come around and talk to him. And wouldn't you know it, Yashvi knocks on the door not two seconds later. Terese gives them space, and Yashvi apologises to Ned for taking off before. "Ironically, not the most mature thing to do," she admits. But Ned says he got aggro too. He also says that for the record, he doesn't think Yashvi is immature.
YASHVI: I do want a future with you, Ned.
NED: I hate that I hurt you.
YASHVI: I'll live. I just want to be able to talk like this.
NED: (hugging her) Thanks for not giving up on me just yet. Love you.
YASHVI: I love you too.
NED: No more secrets.
YASHVI: Good.
Number 24
Chloe and Nicolette are rugged up in a coat and jumper from the cold while they watch the movie with Clive and Jane. But as it turns out, Clive is a huge movie talker. He can't keep track of any plots, asks a million questions and complains about how filmmakers try and make things too fancy. Deciding she's had enough, Chloe says she's not really in a movie watching mood and that her and Nic might go for a drive. Jane offers to stop the movie and watch the rest with them tomorrow, but it's a resounding no from the girls. They practically sprint out the door, while Clive and Jane continue with the film. "I know that actor!" Clive declares triumphantly.
The Flamingo Bar
Chloe complains to Nicolette that you're not supposed to talk during movies. Nicolette teases her about her earlier chipper mood where she was happy to have Clive stay for a few days. But Chloe concedes Nic was right and asks for a drink to dull her pain. Speaking of drinks, Harlow brings another round over to Levi, who's keen to stay on too. Levi's happy to just be relaxing without Kyle and his gran breathing down his neck. "To no neck-breathers," Harlow says, holding out her glass for a cheers. Levi laughs and says that was a good one.
LEVI: Why haven't we done this before?
HARLOW: No idea.
LEVI: You're a cool chick, you know that? This is fun.
HARLOW: Yeah, this is fun. And we've only just gotten started.
LEVI: I'm up for anything if you are.
HARLOW: Bring it on!
LEVI: I will drink to that.
They smile at one another. Chloe watches them, intrigued by their friendly interaction.
