Number 28
While Sheila is still on her high-horse and accusing Sheila 2 of helping to convince Bea to break things off with Levi, Yashvi seems to be the only one who picked up (or at least acknowledging it) the reference in it to herself.
After Sheila storms out of the house to confront her namesake, Yashvi asks Bea to play the recording again. This time everyone (the K's are there too) hears properly Sheila 2 telling Ned that they "crossed a line" and for him to admit this to Yashvi.
The Waterhole
"Sheila Canning, you are an absolute hypocrite!" is how Sheila greets her namesake with when she finds her in the pub. Sheila 2 denies poisoning Bea off Levi, but when she's told about the recording picking up her conversation, Sheila 2 interprets her talk with Bea as simply to "encourage Bea to follow her heart."
SHEILA 2: I would have said the same thing to any friend.
"Including Ned?!" Sheila says and tells her namesake about Yashvi hearing the other part of what was recorded too.
SHEILA: So, your little secret is out.
Number 22
Ned is surprised to see Yashvi call over, but she gets straight to the point when she enters the house and asks if he's been cheating on her with Sheila 2! Initially Ned replies "no" but when Yashvi tells him about their conversation being recorded, and that she's heard it, he eventually concedes that there is "something between us." He explains it as a "weird moment when we touched hands" but then quickly adds that when he realised "how wrong it was" he "backed off."
NED: I love you Vi okay. I wouldn't jeopardise what we have.
It now dawns on Yashvi why Ned quit the gallery, which he confirms, and adds that "it didn't feel right to stay on." Yashvi is kicking herself too for how she inadvertently pushed the pair together and asks why Ned hid it from her? Ned's explanation is he didn't want her to "think that there was anything more than it was" and begs her to believe that "nothing else happened between us." Yashvi scoffs him asking to be believed and stops him from following her out of the house.
Number 26
Levi and Kyle are having a beer and watching the telly when Sheila comes home. She apologises to Levi for bringing Sheila 2 into their lives, as it was her [Sheila 2] who encouraged Bea to break things off with him. Kyle doesn't think Bea would break things off because someone told her, so she verifies that yes, Bea had "some doubts" and but it was Sheila 2 who "pushed her further."
KYLE: I don't think Sheila would have done that. She's your friend.
SHEILA: She was my friend!
Sheila is utterly convinced that Sheila 2 got in Bea's head and it seems that Levi is now starting to come round to that way of thinking too.
Number 28 (next day)
Bea, Karl and Susan are still talking about the other part of the recording (Sheila 2 and Ned) and trying to decide whether it is true or not. However, given the uncertainty, Bea declares that she doesn't want to go to WA with her.
The chat is curtailed when Toadie drops by to drop off a pressie for her - a bag containing toilet paper, insect repellent and a paper map in case her phone suddenly dies! He is then taken aback to hear that given what they heard, Bea plans to call the road trip off and book a flight instead. The K's give Plan B their blessing and Bea admits that while its not "the adventure I had in mind," she still thinks the trip itself "will be cool."
Lassiters Complex
Levi looks somewhat relieved as he chats with Yashvi, to have someone else, other than his Gran, confirm what was said on the tape. Despite Ned's explanation, Yashvi isn't sure what to do, so plans on going to talk with Sheila 2 herself and heads off to do that.
Given she overheard what was being said when out collecting the dishes, Nicolette comes over to give Levi her sympathies. She is somewhat surprised to hear Levi admit he is feeling "a bit better" having been relieved to hear Sheila 2 is the reason why Bea broke up with him, rather than because he pushed Bea too hard over the road trip, thus thinking he has a chance to "fix things." "I hope you're right," is Nicolette's diplomatic reply.
The Waterhole
After finishing talking to Bea on the phone (and being unable to convince her to change her mind) Sheila 2 is confronted by Yashvi. Acknowledging, "I know how the recording must have sounded," Sheila 2 tries to reassure Yashvi that what happened between Ned and herself "wasn't physical."
YASHVI: That doesn't make it okay.
Despite Ned having already talking to her, Yashvi wants Sheila 2's side of things. Sheila 2 begins by saying Ned and herself have "a lot of common interests" and that over time, "a real connection" developed between them.
SHEILA 2: I tried to keep my distance and be professional but it became impossible to ignore.
YASHVI: And you think if you weren't to leave, something would happen between you two?
SHEILA 2: No I don't. He's with you Yashvi. This situation has just become... I'm sorry you feel betrayed. I encourage Ned to be open and honest with you about what he wants. I know this is really hard for you to hear right now, but you need to know that Ned really loves you very much.
Number 28
Jane and David are over to say their goodbyes... and hear that Bea is delaying her departure until she books a flight. The pair then make a quick exit when Levi arrives.
Levi acknowledges that it was wrong of him to try and force Bea into moving things on when she wasn't ready for that, and so wants them "to take a leap of faith" and go on the trip together and come out of it "stronger than ever."
LEVI: We love each other Bea. We can make this work, I promise!
After a huge sigh, Bea's response is that she doesn't think so because she can't ignore all the doubts she has about them, no matter how hard she tries. Levi takes the bad news quite calmly and walks straight out the door without looking back.
Number 22
While they sit together on the stairs, Ned admits that he thought Yashvi coming round to talk was so she could break off with him. "You didn't cheat on me, I believe you," she replies but adds that it is going to take time for her to work out how she feels about him. Yashvi is concerned over how Ned could open up to Sheila 2 but not her and his explanation is that they simply connected "in another way."
YASHVI: I just need you to show me that I'm you're my person and I want to feel like I'm you're my person.
NED: You are and I will. I love you Vi. I'm all in.
YASHVI: Perhaps you can show me that.
Number 30
Toadie admits he is full of admiration over how Yashvi is handling things but then makes himself scarce when Bea arrives.
Yashvi tells her friend that she believes Ned and Sheila 2 didn't cheat on her and thus wants Bea to go on the road trip with Sheila 2. With Bea now convinced, the pair say their farewells with a promise to call each other daily.
Number 28
Bea is finalising her packing when Karl gives her a farewell pressie - his beloved guitar... I'm not sure who had the bigger smile on their face, Bea or Susan!!!
David is back to say his farewells again but his time its Chloe who accompanies him to the house. She is delivering something on behalf of Elly - a photograph of the pair as youngsters [although given Elly was 16 when Bea was born, the photo isn't quite accurate!!!].
Susan reaffirms that #28 will always be Bea's home and that both she and Karl will always be here for her too.
Number 26
Given she's spent all day ignoring Sheila 2's calls and texts, Sheila hides herself in the laundry room when Sheila 2 visits the house, so it is Kyle who is forced to answer the door!
Sheila 2 wants to thank her namesake "for the friendship she's shown me" and for helping her deal too with the loss of her Nan. Even Sheila 2 asking Kyle to pass on the "I love her very much and I won't forget her" message still doesn't have Sheila appear out of her hidey hole!
Kyle gives his Gran the all clear to come out of hiding after Sheila 2 leaves and wants to know why she was hiding. Sheila denies that was the case, she was simply "standing by Levi." "Levi doesn't need you to stand by him," Kyle is quick to reply back and thinks Sheila 2 is being genuine in what she said.
KYLE: And I think you think that too. Deep down you know it was all Bea, no one else.
Ramsay Street
It is a downhearted Sheila 2 that returns to the car after being snubbed by Sheila.
BEA: Sheila can be pretty stubborn when she wants to be
SHEILA 2: No kidding!
Despite having already done their goodbye's, Yashvi drops by the for another farewell hug.
Seconds later, Ned comes onto the street to say his farewells and Bea diplomatically goes over to where he is standing. She reassures him after some "grovelling" things will be fine between Yashvi and himself. Ned is fine with the grovelling and warns her to not "get into trouble" before the pair then share a farewell hug.
The delay has allowed time for Sheila to stop stewing and appear in the street to apologise to Sheila 2 for her wrong accusations. Sheila 2 accepts the apologies and gets that Sheila was looking after her family. "I am so grateful for your friendship," Sheila says to her namesake but then adds "I don't really call you a friend," before saying the following in the First Nations language [translated onscreen]:
SHEILA: You're family, sis.
SHEILA 2: You're my family, sis.
"Come here," Sheila 2 says and the pair share their farewell hug.
The Waterhole
When she comes in with her mum and Chloe, Nicolette spots Levi drowning his sorrows with the hard stuff at the bar. She heads over and warns that "whisky and heartache don't mix" especially when added in with his epilepsy. "I feel like such an idiot," he says after accepting another glass of Scotch and Nicolette tries to reassure him that isn't the case.
NICOLETTE: What you did was really brave putting it all on the line for your girl. You left nothing unsaid.
"Yah me," he replies with no enthusiasm at all and turns down the lunch and mocktail invite because "talking's not going to do me any good." She takes his rejection as long as he promises to "let off some steam because hugging a bar and festering will do you no good."
Ramsay Street
And it is finally time for Bea's final farewells ahead of her departure, saving the ones with Karl and Susan until last.
BEA: No crying or emotional speeches please!
Karl can't resist saying that its been "an absolute privilege" having Bea stay with them and with her strength, passion and music she's "been an inspiration" too.
KARL: And don't you ever forget that because we certainly won't.
"Don't you forget us," Susan says to her niece whilst giving her hug. Bea thanks them both for being "the best surrogate parents a girl could ever ask for" and after hugging Karl, adds that the stability they've given her has enabled her to do this trip.
With promises to keep in touch, Bea heads to the car and gets into the driver's seat and puts the shades on.
BEA: I love you guys.
KARL and SUSAN: Love you too.
Bea then gets the car going and slowly they head off down Ramsay Street, both waving to Karl and Susan and to Ned too who is standing outside #22.
Number 26 (backyard)
Levi is looking very dejected when Kyle joins him to inform in that Bea has gone and to hand over a letter that was left for him.
Once Kyle departs, Levi takes the letter out of the envelope and starts reading the farewell letter Bea has left for him.
BEA: Dear Levi. I wish I could have been the girlfriend that you deserved especially since you gave me so much. You helped me heal after Finn and I'll never be able to thank you enough. I'm sorry we didn't get to have the adventure you wanted, but you are an incredible person and its only a matter of time before the right woman comes into your life. I'm wishing you only good things. Bea.
Levi isn't to happy to read what was written as he scrunches the paper up as soon as he is finished... and takes one of the conveniently handy cricket bats and starts to smash up the billy cart, which also conveniently happened to be sitting beside the table!
