Lassiters Complex
Paul joins Amy and Terese for the meeting and isn't too happy, but Terese tells him to give Amy a chance to explain herself. Amy says that Shane going back to Dipi devastated her, so when she scored the marketing director job at the Far North Hotel she was excited to have a win. But then everything literally went up in flames and Amy took responsibility for the fire. "Better me than the person who actually started the fire," Amy explains, leaving Terese and Paul intrigued.
Ramsay Street
Yashvi finds Levi and Bea washing the new car and the couple tell her how much work Bea's put into making it roadworthy again. Yashvi asks if they're heading off soon and Levi says they were originally meant to go tomorrow but his leave hasn't been accepted yet. Sheila emerges from #26 and joins the conversation, but isn't too enthusiastic when Bea reminds her they're recording the podcast episode that afternoon. Levi asks if Bea wants company setting up at The Hive, but Bea's saved from answering when Yashvi mentions they'll already be spending enough time together on the road.
Lassiters Complex
Amy finishes telling her side of the story and says she hopes she made the right decision in the moment. But Terese and Paul both agree she was in an impossible situation and they probably would have made the same choice. Amy thanks them for being so understanding but is concerned if she still has a job or not. Terese and Paul share a glance with one another.
The Waterhole
Sheila makes another attempt at getting Sheila 2 to stay in town, but Sheila 2 says it's her time to go. Paul walks by after overhearing that Sheila 2 is leaving and asks how the preparations for the gallery are going. The Sheilas take the opportunity to tease Paul by speaking in the First Nations language Sheila 2 taught Sheila (whenever they speak the language throughout the episode, subtitles appear on screen). They call him a "crazy white man" and "sad and sorrowful" among other things, leaving Paul utterly confused.
The Hive
Ned is surprised when Sheila 2 tells him she's packing up her painting to send back to Gadigal Country (Sydney). He asks who'll be setting up the gallery if she's back in Sydney, but Sheila sternly reminds him it's not really his problem anymore. Bea arrives to get some podcast work done and Ned gets a phone call from Yashvi. Ned tells Yashvi he's packing up his belongings, but Vi was hoping he would have made up with Sheila by now. Ned makes eye contact with Sheila, who has been listening, and tells Yashvi there's no point.
Sheila joins Bea in the podcast room and they talk about places Bea should go on her road trip. Bea asks how long it's been since Sheila's been back to see her family, and Sheila laments that it's been ages. Talk soon turns to Levi. Bea does a terrible job of saying how everything is fine now, and she hopes the road trip will put their relationship back on track.
SHEILA: On track to what?
BEA: To being the long-term committed relationship that he wants. And that I want as well.
Bea then gets a phone call from Levi who happily informs her that his leave has been approved so they can go on the trip tomorrow after all. Bea does not look thrilled.
The Flamingo Bar
Kyle's concerned that Roxy snooped through Amy's laptop, but Roxy says it turned out for the best since she discovered Amy's a pyromaniac. Roxy says Paul and Terese are having a meeting with "Miss Matches" right now and Amy is so done. But Roxy's in for a surprise when Amy swans in to work like everything is normal, mentioning that she's had a "weirdly cathartic" morning. Once Amy's out of earshot, Roxy's plastered on smile fades and she asks Kyle what the hell's going on.
The Waterhole/Number 26 Backyard
Sheila 2 approaches the bar while Sheila's on speakerphone with Levi. She wants to organise a BBQ for her grandson and invite the whole street before he takes off on the road trip, but Levi says there's no time now since he's leaving tomorrow. Sheila's aghast and frets about washing undies and making food, but Levi reminds her he can do everything himself. Sheila says she's going to miss him a lot and Levi says the feeling's mutual. Once Sheila hangs up, Sheila 2 comments on how nice it is that they're so close and that it makes her heart happy. Sheila says that happy feeling is another reason why she shouldn't be going back to Gadigal Country so soon.
The Flamingo Bar
Amy has cornered David and Aaron to test out a new idea for the bar with them. She pitches the concept of refreshing cocktails, shiny lycra and a cardio marathon aka Erinsborough's longest workout. They like the idea, and Aaron's even more keen when Amy says the bar could team up with The Shed for the promo.
Meanwhile, Roxy is watching them from the other end of the 'beach' with a scowl on her face, slamming empty glasses onto a tray. She tells Kyle that she has no idea why Amy is still employed. Kyle suggests that the fire could have been an accident, but Roxy says that's not what the email she read implied. Roxy shoves the tray of empties into Kyle's chest and storms off to have a word with Terese.
Number 22
Roxy approaches Terese and Paul, demanding to know why Amy's still working at the bar. Terese says Amy explained herself and they were satisfied with her reasons, but she's not letting Roxy be privy to the details. Roxy can't believe she's being shut out.
ROXY: I am not working with an arsonist who is researching fire pits right as we speak.
PAUL: Oh just drop the dramatics, Roxy, for goodness sakes. You know between the two of you, you're the only one with a history of starting fires in my bars.
ROXY: That wasn't a real fire, Paul.
Roxy's still pressing for answers, but Terese says the matter has been dealt with so she'll have to move on. They'll keep Amy's confidence, just like they kept Roxy's by not telling Amy who dobbed her in about the fire. "I want you to consider this as a fresh start," Terese says. "You need to find a way to work with Amy."
The Waterhole
Levi has more 'great' news for Bea - since they're leaving early they can make it in time for the annual billy cart race in Dampier. Bea's keen when she thinks they're just going to watch, not so much when Levi says he wants to take part in the actual race. He's got a mate up that way who can loan them a cart.
LEVI: I didn't want us to miss it. This is very important.
BEA: Billy cart racing?
LEVI: Uh, yeah. It's part of our story, and I want this trip to be a celebration of us.
Bea musters up as much enthusiasm as she can, which as you may have guessed, is not much.
Sheila finds Sheila 2 sitting outside the pub staring into space over her coffee. Sheila 2 says she's decided not to go to Sydney, instead she's going to Whadjuk Noongar Country in Perth. It's time she faced her guilt and went and saw her family again to make peace with her nan's passing. Sheila thinks it's a great idea and tells Sheila 2 she's a strong woman and she's proud of her.
The Flamingo Bar
Terese tells Roxy that she knows she wants the best for the bar, but she's got to trust that Terese does too. When they go inside, Terese tells Amy that Roxy had to help her out at the hotel for a moment, hence her absence. When Roxy heads back outside to work, Terese asks Amy how she's feeling. "Like I should buy you and Paul a massive gift basket," Amy replies. Terese tells Amy not to be silly - she can't stop thinking about what Amy's been through lately.
TERESE: Have you been in contact with your daughter since you left Cairns?
AMY: Look we've traded a few texts but nothing meaningful. I think Zara's going to be keeping her distance from me for a while.
TERESE: Even after you took the blame for her mistake?
AMY: Well, if I'd been a more present parent, then she wouldn't have felt the need to get so drunk and knock over a gas heater. That's the way she sees it anyway. And now that I've come back here she feels abandoned all over again.
TERESE: There is no winning with 16-year-olds.
AMY: Or exes. Zara's dads are not very happy that I took the blame for the fire. Cairns is a pretty hostile place for me at the moment.
Terese says they're happy to have Amy onboard, and she's sure things will get better with her daughter. She's actually been in a similar situation when one of her kids set fire to the school. Amy laughs and wonders what it is with kids and fire. Roxy comes back in the bar and overhears the tail end of their conversation.
The Hive
Yashvi is helping Ned go through all of his stuff and sort out what to keep and what to chuck. She notices he looks sad and assures him he won't be leaving the place completely, he'll always be a part of it with his artwork. Yashvi bets him a fancy dinner that he'll make more money from The Hive as a featured artist than he ever did working there. Ned finds his sketchbook and flips through it, pausing on the sketch he did of Sheila 2.
The Waterhole
Bea is having a drink with Sheila 2 and chatting about Sheila's return to Perth. Sheila says the biggest hurdle is going to be whether or not she forgives herself, but she knows things will feel calmer when she sets foot on the beach. Talk soon turns to Levi again and Bea does another song and dance about how 'fine' everything is, but Sheila's not convinced and urges Bea to open up and tell the truth. Sighing, Bea says she realised Sheila was right about Levi being a rehab relationship. She thought she could still move on and build something meaningful with him, but now Bea feels as though her relationship has run its course.
SHEILA: So you don't see a future with him?
BEA: I want to. What's wrong with me? He's amazing.
SHEILA: There's nothing wrong with you, Bea! It's clear Levi's not the right one and you know that in your heart. Accepting it does not make you a bad person. So what are you going to do?
BEA: What can I do? We're leaving tomorrow. I can't call it off, he's so excited. And what if I'm wrong; what if this trip is exactly what we need?
SHEILA: And what if you end up breaking up in the middle of the Nullarbor? What are either of you going to do then? You need to be honest with yourself. It'll be kinder to both of you in the long run.
The Flamingo Bar
Amy brings some complimentary drinks to Aaron and David outside to celebrate the team-up with The Shed. Roxy goes over to where Kyle's chilling on a beach chair and plonks down beside him. "First she steals my job and then she steals my family and friends," Roxy complains. But Kyle doesn't see why Roxy is stressing so much. The way he sees it, Amy's the one with all the responsibility and business woes now. All Roxy needs to do is turn up and do her job well. Kyle advises her to try and make the most of it.
Ramsay Street
Yashvi and Ned are helping Levi load stuff into the car. Yashvi jokingly asks Levi to stay away for longer because she's been given a "super chill" partner to work with while he's gone. Bea walks over to them looking like she's going to be sick and asks if she can have a word with Levi alone. After Ned and Yashvi leave, Bea tries to have a conversation but Levi keeps interrupting her, saying how they need to get a wriggle on with packing and loading the car. Eventually Bea has enough and tells him to listen to her.
BEA: The trip is off, we're not going!
LEVI: What do you mean?
BEA: I just, I can't see our relationship going any further. I'm so sorry but we have to break up.
Wow, babe, that's rough.
