Lassiters hotel foyer
"It's a formidable likeness isn't it," Jane remarks to her daughter after approaching her as she stands looking at the portrait of Mrs Mangel. "Formidable is the word for it," Nicolette says back to her mum, then turns down a lunch invite as she is waiting for Chloe so they can hang out at her place. "Is that wise?" Jane asks but Nicolette explains that Chloe is having a hard time and needs a friend.
Seconds later, Chloe spots the pair and heads over to see if Nicolette knows why Aaron and David want to speak to her (no) and the pair head off together.
Lassiters hotel room
Following their 'afternoon delight' both Dipi says she has to leave but changes her mind quickly enough when Pierce asks her to stay longer.
Number 32
Chloe (and Nicolette) hear the speed version of David and Aaron's baby plans and is utterly thrilled at the prospect of them having their own child. Aaron is more than relieved to hear she is okay with their plans, but she explains that just because things haven't gone well for her, doesn't mean she can't be happy for others... especially when it is them.
Number 30
Shane asks his brothers advice on whether he should take Dipi on a beach or a mountain romantic getaway. After Toadie's last trip, he strongly advises a mountain one, which Shane thinks suits Dipi best too.
Erinsborough hospital
Karl spots Nicolette arrive back after lunch and wants to ask her some questions about working overseas (he's pretending to enquire on behalf of someone else) but her reply is that she can't help, as she has never worked overseas.
The Waterhole
After overhearing Hendrix unload his woes about his dad and Chloe to Harlow, Sheila adds her own tuppenceworth that it "doesn't sound too promising," but does urge the lad to "hang in there" as it is tough for everyone concerned. He now bemoans to Harlow (once Sheila leaves) that Sheila will be gossiping to everyone about his family, but she doesn't think so given her own relationship issues.
Pep talks over, Hendrix is showing no interest in studying, so Harlow suggests he goes and talks to his dad, even if he might not get "any clear answers," but at least has the knowledge "that you tried."
Lassiters hotel room
"We've started something haven't we," Dipi remarks after the pair of them dress following a second round of an 'afternoon delight.' Silently Pierce nods, and she knows they are both on the same page however the conversation is hastily curtailed when Hendrix knocks on the door!
After ensuring Dipi and her belongings are safely out of the way in the bathroom, Pierce opens the door to his son. To get rid of him quickly, Pierce cites that he is about to do a conference call but promises to do dinner with Hendrix instead. The lad is happy with the new plans and heads off as both Pierce and Dipi realise they've just had a very close call.
Harold's café
As they catch up, Karl reassures Toadie that Nicolette isn't guilty of workplace bullying... but then adds that he's looked at her employment records and it shows her as registering to work in London, however she has twice denied being there. Toadie wonders if you can register to work but don't actually turn up and while Karl is unsure if you can do that, he is more than positive that "Nicolette's up to something" and that Audrey is involved too. "It's really none of your business," Toadie points out and after Karl asks him not to say anything to Susan, gets him to consider whether it is something "worth pursuing?!"
Erinsborough High
Having managed to dodge Jane at lunchtime, Susan now forced to listen as Jane unloads her woes about Nicolette setting herself up for heartbreak again.
However, Susan picks up on a remark by Jane about wanting to spend more time with her daughter and suggests that they move in together. "Nicolette doesn't want to live with her mother," a disappointed Jane replies back but Susan isn't letting this chance go without pushing it further and suggests that Jane moves into #32 (so David and Aaron aren't suffering financially). Susan can barely contain her glee at the thought of getting rid of Jane, even going as much as to be the one to talk to the boys to make her plan happen!
Harold's café
Shane drops by the café to tell Dipi about a (cheap) camping trip he is planning on arranging for them. She isn't exactly keen and so Shane tries to rope the newly arrived Pierce into helping him convince Dipi to go on the trip! "I only go glamping," is Pierce's nonchalant reply before going to take a seat after placing his order. "You're making it very hard to say no," she replies after Shane pulls out the big guns in an attempt to win her over - writing a new bush ballad!
Number 32
Now they have Chloe's blessing, the boys are making plans for what they need to do to get the ball rolling when Susan calls round. She explains to David and Aaron that Jane has expressed wanting to spend more time with her daughter... and so tries to explain to them the positives of having "someone's mum" live with them.
SUSAN: She's very neat. She's trustworthy. She's reliable. Very quiet... she's pretty much your perfect housemate.
"Does Nicolette know about this?" David asks and Susan replies "not yet" because she wanted to gauge their reaction first, so Jane could talk to her daughter, confident that they were happy with the plan. Having another housemate wasn't on their agenda... but the boys are coming around to the idea thanks to the extra money having Jane there would generate. "If Nicolette is keen, then we are too," Aaron replies and Susan can barely contain her glee!
Number 24
Nicolette calls round to have a much needed drink with Chloe (who is also in need of one) when Hendrix arrives home wanting to know what is going on. Chloe tells him they are doing cocktails and invite the lad to join them but with a face like thunder, he rejects the offer and heads out of the house having picked up a book.
The Waterhole
After she asks, Hendrix fills Harlow in that his dad was too busy to talk but will be catching up later on. "That's not the problem," he then adds and goes on to tell her what he saw at #24 and is confident the cocktails were all Nicolette's idea.
HENDRIX: She has always had the hots for Chloe and now she has the perfect opportunity.
He is unsure whether to tell his dad or not and Harlow suggests "no" mainly because he doesn't have all the facts. "It's the fact that Nicolette wants to get into Chloe's pants," he is quick to reply with but she counters that perhaps Chloe doesn't feel the same way and Nicolette is simply just being a friend that she obviously needs. She warns against him "raising the alarm" when he doesn't "know anything" and adds "in fact, I think it would make things worse." Hendrix agrees not to say anything to his dad but plans on keeping a very close eye on Chloe and Nicolette.
Number 24
Chloe is looking to the positives of Pierce being away - not having to feel guilty for having friends' round, especially as both admit to missing one another.
Harold's café
Shane is trying to pin Dipi down to a date for their camping trip but she keeps totally quiet and indeed breathes a huge sigh of relief in when he leaves the café.
Shane leaving was good timing, as moments after he's left, Pierce calls Dipi to apologise for leaving as he couldn't stand to listen to anymore of Shane's plans. "I understand and I feel awful myself," she admits and then adds that Shane is perhaps "trying too hard" but knows she doesn't want to go camping. Pierce admits that he is relived she isn't going either, then after she mentions that it would be nice if they could go away together, comes up with the perfect destination - a private plane journey to the Maldives complete with their personal chef and meals on the beach.
DIPI: I think you need to stop talking now!
Lassiters Complex
A tipsy duo make their way towards the pub, trying to decide on what to have to eat. Chloe is going with buffalo wings as it usually makes Pierce hic-up... the conversation then stops when Chloe starts to get a bit down.
CHLOE: I just miss him.
Number 28
After hearing about Jane's impending move to #32 "if everyone is willing" Karl doesn't seem to be making any positive noises about it, so Jane asks if he "thinks Nicolette will say no?" "It's not that," he replies then tentatively explains to Jane that "there is something about her which is bothering me" and goes onto tell her about having reason to look into Nicolette's work history and "it said she was registered as a nurse in London" but she denied this when he spoke to her. Jane is surprised to hear this as Nicolette "moved to Australia and did her training here" adding that "she never went back." She then mentions Nicolette "got all huffy" after Audrey said something about her working in London the other night.
JANE: That can't be a coincidence?
Jane asks Karl when the dates were and he replies "April 2018." It dawns on her that was the dates when she was in Erinsborough (looking for the stamps)... "and it was also when Nan died and I was so upset because I wasn't in London when it happened."
KARL: I think you need to talk to your daughter.
(Later)
Susan enters the living room having been talking to Elly on the phone and tells Karl that she was right, things aren't great with her. We hear its nothing to do with Shaun, however he has offered to fly them both to Switzerland!
KARL: Interesting... business or first class?
"The point is that Elly needs us," Susan replies back to that comment but then adds that Elly seems to think that Susan needs her because she's complained too much about Jane! Susan asks where Jane is (over seeing Nicolette) and Susan hopes she takes the hint and moves in with her daughter.
SUSAN: That way we could go to Switzerland, come back safe in the knowledge that the house is ours again.
Karl then breaks the news that "it might not be," and adds that there is something he needs to tell her.
Number 32
Jane sits patiently waiting for Nicolette to get in, turning down the offer of a glass of wine from Aaron. Eventually she arrives home and Aaron leaves them to it, heading outside with wine for himself and David.
NICOLETTE: What have I done wrong now?
JANE: Why were you in London when Nan died? And more to the point, why would you keep something like that from me?
