Lassiters Hotel
Paul tells Kyle he knows he agrees with him that Gary isn't good enough for Amy. He fills him in on what's been happening while he was away; that Gary owes Amy $100,000 and attempted to pay it back by moving stolen goods...from Robinson Heights. He tells Kyle that Gary 'accidentally' knocked out Dipi Rebecchi while he was at it. Paul says he doesn't want Amy to be a financial and emotional crutch; in response Kyle asks whether attempting to break them up is a condition of the job. Paul says that's something he'll have to decide for himself but he'd like an answer by tomorrow.
Number 32
Aaron and David stand in front of their garden admiring their new home...despite the heavy rain. Chloe soon bounds in with breakfast smoothies. They thank her and she says it's the least she could do for them letting her move in. She hands them 3 months rent and Aaron comments on how it seems like she's really bouncing back from everything.
Number 24
Elly sits at the dining table looking unsettled. Mark enters, commenting on how she's up early. She says she couldn't sleep so thought she'd just get up, mentioning how quiet it feels without Aaron and David around. Mark jokes that she should make the most of it before the baby comes.
Number 30
Dipi picks up one of Sonya's cardigans which has been left out and asks Shane what to do with it. It clearly feels awkward to be moving into Sonya and Toadie's home after her passing and with him being away. Shane says he's going to call Toadie later and let him know what's been going on; in particular with Finn and Imogen. Shane and Dipi discuss Andrea's revelation but decide it's still not the right timing to tell him about that.
Kyle arrives, seeming awkward, presumably because it feels weird being in Number 30 after Sonya's death; he asks Shane and Dipi if they can tell him about what happened when Dipi got caught in the crossfire during Gary's criminal activity.
KYLE: Don't sugarcoat it.
The Waterhole
Aaron asks Elly how she's getting on with Mark and she jokes that he didn't sleep on the couch last night. Chloe walks in.
AARON: Wow, she looks like a million bucks.
ELLY: A new dress will do that.
Elly notices Chloe has a new handbag too. They awkwardly share eye contact for a moment before Chloe sits down with Paul; Elly goes to the bathroom.
Number 26
Kyle arrives at Number 26 but it seems extremely awkward between him, Gary and Amy. They make small talk before Sheila bursts in.
SHEILA: I know it's a little bit awkward just at the minute. But that will pass.
Sheila says the best way of moving forward is for Kyle to move back in but none of them seem keen on the idea. Amy suggests going for lunch to celebrate her engagement to Gary but Kyle makes excuses to leave, saying he has jetlag.
Number 30
Kirsha comes in with Clancy but Dipi tells her to take him back outside. Kirsha says that he looks confused and lost out there as it's not his back yard. When Shane and Dipi are alone, he asks her if she has something on her mind. She replies that it's what Andrea said about the man she thought recognized her. She doesn't think there'll ever be a good time to tell Toadie about it.
DIPI: Do you think we should look into it ourselves?
SHANE: I guess we could get another perspective.
The Waterhole
Aaron and Chloe meet at The Waterhole and it's not long before he starts probing her about her money situation. He says she was flashing the cash this morning but she assures him that everything's fine.
CHLOE: The adventures of Chloe in Crippling Debt will have no sequel.
She then gets a text and makes a bad excuse that she has to leave as she has a hairdresser's appointment that she forgot about.
Sheila notices Kyle at the bar.
SHEILA: What do you call this, sleep-drinking?
She tells him she understands how hard it must be seeing his dad with his ex-girlfriend, but things will get easier soon.
SHEILA: That's why you need to move home, love. De-sensitizing therapy. I read it in a book.
They laugh. Sheila starts asking more personal questions, such as whether he misses Georgia, but he insists that he doesn't; they just fell apart. She asks if Georgia cheated on him but he says that she didn't. He admits that perhaps this new job isn't the fresh start he thought it would be, though.
Number 26
Gary and Amy sit down in the living room and chat about Kyle being back. She admits that it's weird she used to be with Gary's son, but says it was easy to forget when he was away. They knew it was only a matter of time before they had to deal with it though and Amy encourages Gary to spend time with Kyle so they can move forward. Gary's not sure if Kyle will want that but Amy says it's worth a try.
Number 30
Shane and Dipi have invited Mark over.
DIPI: We need your advice on something. Something big. You know how Sonya went to see Andrea about Hugo's custody?
MARK: Yeah.
SHANE: Andrea told Sonya that while she was in Tasmania she ran into this bloke, who was convinced that he knew her. From there. But Andrea swears that she's never been to Tasmania before.
Dipi: So what if the woman this man met was Dee? Her body was never found, and Dee was originally from Tazzie.
Mark looks taken aback.
MARK: Sonya was trying to talk to me, before she...Maybe that's what she was trying to tell me.
SHANE: That's the thing, we want to honour Sonya in all of this. We keep asking ourselves what she'd want us to do. We don't want to burden Toadie with it yet.
None of them know whether Andrea is telling the truth, but Mark suggests speaking to Andrea and asking more questions.
Kyle's hotel room
There's a knock at the door and Kyle rushes out of the shower to answer it in a towel. Amy's there and they both look embarrassed. She says she'd like to talk; Kyle asks her to let him quickly get dressed. He accidentally drops his towel as he walks away, and suggests meeting Amy downstairs.
The Waterhole
Kyle approaches Amy.
She tells him she just wanted to clear the air; his return was a real curveball. Kyle says that Sheila and Xanthe have kept him up to date on everything since he's been away, but it still feels weird seeing Gary and Amy together. Amy says she's glad they're talking properly now but they still need to do the handover for Robinson Pines.
KYLE: Sure, if I take the job.
Amy seems surprised, but Kyle says that his head's all over the place; his separation has knocked him for six. He says Georgia definitely doesn't want him back and Amy tells him to hold out for the right one like she did. He asks if Gary really does make her happy, as he heard about the trouble he recently got into. Unconvincingly she says he does. Kyle offers to leave if it's difficult with him around, but Amy jokes that Sheila would kill her.
AMY: And besides, we're family now.
KYLE: You're right, I mean you are gonna be my step-mum.
AMY: Say that again and I will kill you.
They laugh.
Number 24
Mark tells Elly he's not been able to open Sonya's wedding card and present yet. They decide to do it now.
'Anchor yourselves in each other; love Sonya x'
MARK: It's a love lock. For the bridge on the lake.
ELLY: It's beautiful.
The Waterhole
Gary arrives to see Amy and Kyle. He says they should celebrate the engagement, just as Paul arrives, who offers to get the next round of drinks in.
SHEILA: Bags, you better keep this coming for the wedding you know.
Paul looks repulsed. Kyle talks to him in private, telling him he'll accept the job as Project Manager but won't attempt to break up Gary and Amy. Paul says that's fine and agrees to leave the couple alone; clearly an empty promise.
Erinsborough Hospital
Aaron finds David, telling him that he's concerned about Chloe.
The Waterhole
Aaron and David enter The Waterhole and see Chloe with a businessman. As Chloe and the man leave, Aaron pulls her aside.
AARON: Hey, listen, stop, you don't need to do this. Remember last time? You're better than this, you don't have to date guys for money!
CHLOE: What?
