No.28

Penthouse
Paul tells Leo that he has plans for lunch today.
No.28
Susan probes Jemima for who she's having lunch with.
Penthouse
Leo probes Paul, clearly hoping that Paul has got over Terese and is interested in someone else.
No.28
Susan is still probing Jemima. She just says that it will be a "very interesting afternoon."
No.26 (Back Garden)
Dipi and Sheila are talking about Mishti and Pavan. Sheila says that maybe it will work out, but Dipi isn't so sure. Sheila says she's off to meet Clive at the hospital and Dipi suddenly becomes rather flustered and rushes off.
No.28
Jemima tells Susan that she's watched a lot of fashion videos on YouTube - that's why she dresses so fashionably(!) She offers to go through Karl and Susan's wardrobes to help them update them(!)
A car honks outside and Karl observes that it's a Lassiter's car. Jemima reveals that she's having lunch with Paul Robinson. Karl is horrified and tells Jemima to be careful - Paul is slippery. Susan says that Paul does have his merits, but he does like to line his pockets, and treats women badly.
JEMIMA: You can drop the condescending attitude, Susan. I can take care of myself.
Susan looks stunned and then angry.
Lassiter's Reception
Leo tells Terese that it'll just be them in the meeting today because Paul has gone out. She awkwardly says she needs to go to prepare for the meeting.
Harold's café
Susan is having lunch with Toadie and Sonya and telling them what Jemima said to her. They are quite shocked, but says that they're sure Jemima can look after herself. Susan is still wary that Jemima is another scammer. Toadie says they should do some "recon" on Jemima and Paul's lunch!
Outside the Hospital
Sheila tells Karl that her study is going well. He tells her that Jemima is on a date with Paul Robinson. Sheila says that maybe Jemima just wants a bit of fun - not all women want a committed relationship.
Dipi passes by on her way out of the episode and pretends that she hasn't seen them. Sheila and Karl look confused.
Lassiter's Office
Leo and Terese are discussing business matters, including the insurance claim for the trashed room. Terese starts flashing back to their afternoon of passion.
TERESE: Look, what happened that day...
LEO: You've already told me. It was a mistake.
TERESE: No-one can ever find out. It would cause unthinkable damage.
LEO: Which is why we agreed not to tell anyone.
TERESE: Is that something you can do?
LEO: If we focus on work, I'm sure we can forget what happened between us.
The air is charged between them.
TERESE: OK...let's move on to Special Events Catering...
They both look unhappy.
Lassiter's Balcony
Paul and Jemima are sitting down to a dinner of lobsters. They chat for a while and then agree to talk about "why they are really here"
Pub
Sheila and Shane are studying and testing each other. But Sheila is preoccupied as to why Dipi was rushing out of the hospital this morning. Shane plays it down, saying maybe Dipi is doing some volunteer work with old people and "perking them up". He tries not to laugh and gets back to their study.
Lassiter's Balcony
Susan and Toadie try to sneak up on Paul and Jemima but end up drawing attention to themselves. Jemima looks at them suspiciously and they head off to a table to sit down. Susan tries to eavesdrop on their conversation.
When Jemima has gone to the toilet, Susan goes over to tell Paul that she thinks Jemima is a gold-digger.
PAUL: Well, thank goodness I invested in those chains for my wallet(!)
SUSAN: You can laugh all you want, but I am warning you, as a friend, Jemima is someone who needs to be kept at arm's length. And she's standing right behind me, isn't she?
JEMIMA: But don't let that stop you.
PAUL: No, this is most entertaining.
Toadie makes a sharp exit(!)
SUSAN: I'm sorry, but you can't blame for being wary.
JEMIMA: Why? Because I let you shout me lunch a couple of times? Because I accept Karl's offer to pay for the damage to Artemesia after *you* injured her?
SUSAN: Wha...I've been taken advantage of in the past and I just don't want it to happen again.
JEMIMA: Then you should have come to me and told me to my face! And not go sneaking around and gossiping behind my back. Shame, Susan Kennedy, shame, shame, shame.
Susan looks contrite and slinks off.
Lassiter's Reception
Terese sees Susan leaving and calls her over. Susan tells her about Jemima being on a date with Paul and that she humiliated herself. Terese is more interested in the fact that Paul is seeing someone.
Sheila comes over and tells Susan that her world is falling apart. Susan is not interested at first, but then Sheila starts babbling that Dipi and Clive are up to something together. Susan just tells her to ask Dipi about it, but Sheila doesn't want to look like a nutbag(!) Susan does allow that she has seen Dipi change her clothes in the middle of the day before, but she doesn't think there's anything going on between Dipi and Clive.
Lassiter's Balcony
Jemima has left and Paul and Leo are chatting. Paul says that he's hoping to see Jemima again and he sees quite a bit of potential with her. Leo looks pleased.
No.28
Jemima is telling Karl what a good time she had with Paul today. Karl warns her to be careful, but Jemima just gushes how much she and Paul have in common.
Susan comes in with Mark (Elly has invited him for dinner). Jemima tells Karl the whole story in front of Susan.
MARK: I could come back later(!)
JEMIMA: Don't be silly. Susan loves a spectacle.
SUSAN: To be fair, when I was telling you about Paul the only thing you were interested in was his net worth so I thought...maybe I should warn him instead.
JEMIMA: I understand. I'm not good enough for your friends.
SUSAN: Well, of course you are.
JEMIMA: Karl, bring me your tea when it's ready, would you?
She goes off to the sofa.
KARL: Yes.
MARK:(awkwardly) I might set the table.
KARL:(to Susan, hissing) Whatever happened to making an effort?!
SUSAN: I tried! I really did! But you should hear how she talks to me when there's no-one else around.
KARL: I realise this is hard for you having Jemima here. But I want you to think about your sisters - they can be very difficult people and I've been patient with them for years! It's the same courtesy I would have expected from you!
He stalks off.
Harold's café
Shane warns Dipi to be more careful when she's meeting Clive. Sheila comes in and confronts Dipi saying she knows she's been to see Clive. She grabs Dipi's phone and starts looking at text messages between her and Clive. They are all along the lines of, "You're a miracle worker and I feel like a new man!" Shane tries to calm Sheila down, but Sheila is on a rant.
DIPI: It is not what you think!
SHEILA: Oh, well, then, what is it?! I'm all ears!
No.28
Susan is apologising to Mark for the awkwardness. Jemima passes through the room, still clearly upset.
SUSAN: Jemima. About what happened earlier.
JEMIMA: You've said your piece, Susan.
SUSAN: I'm sorry. I was harsh.
JEMIMA: Well, at least now it's out in the open. Ever since I've arrived here you've treated me like a second-class citizen.
SUSAN: I'll admit, I was wary. Can you admit that you gave me good reason to be?
JEMIMA: It's OK. I'm used to it. Free souls like myself are always criticised by the petty bourgouisee.
SUSAN: Is that it? Is that all I get?
JEMIMA: Let's..move on.
SUSAN: Let's.
KARL:(tightly) Well, now all that's settled...
He suggests a sing-a-long, much to Jemima's delight and Susan's horror(!)
Susan sits back down with Mark while an enthusiastic sing-a-long starts up between Karl and Jemima.
Lassiter's (in the lift)
Leo and Terese are in the lift. Leo tells her that Paul has found someone else now, so they can be together.
LEO: Don't you see? This means that there's still a chance for us!
TERESE: Yes, but he'd still be upset.
LEO: No, he said it himself...he wants to move forward. So why should be ignore how we both feel?
TERESE: Leo, this is not about your Dad. We are such different people!
LEO: If this is about the age thing...
TERESE: This is about right!
LEO: I don't care. What I feel for you is real. Look me in the eye and tell me you don't feel the same way. I want us to be together, Terese. Let's do this.
