National Park
Elly is leaving a voicemail on Bea's phone asking her to call her. Elly is saying that she's at the location Bea sent on the map in the text. Elly is very worried about what is happening. Elly still wants Bea to call her back despite the fight. Elly calls Amy and admits she's not ok. Elly asks for Amy's help.

Finn leaves his stuff on the passenger seat and gets out of the car (he has gloves on his hands.) He hears Aaron and Mishti on the scavenger hunt and hides.

Aaron is put out that Chloe and Xanthe have managed to post their 12th photo. Aaron explains that Chloe doesn't like losing and will crow over winning. Mishti spots the damaged car and recognises it as Elly's car. They head to the car before hearing Chloe's cries for help. They run over to Chloe as Finn watches them.

Xanthe is lying unconscious on the ground and Chloe is trying to get her to wake up with no success. Aaron and Mishti arrive and want to know what has happened. Chloe explains what has happened, she has already dialled for the ambulance.

Finn runs to a grey car. Bea's mobile rings in his pocket, it's Elly calling. Finn hurls the mobile into the distance and drives off.

The Waterhole
Gary is sitting at the bar while Sheila is working behind the bar. Gary tells Sheila that Chloe and Xanthe have won the scavenger hunt. Gary is hopeful that Xanthe will return home to celebrate, Sheila is doubtful. She thinks that Xanthe will stay at Yashvi's again and Xanthe is avoiding her. Sheila tells Gary what has happened between her and Xanthe. Gary points out that Xanthe would do really well as a doctor. Sheila points out there is a lot of work to do to become a doctor. Gary wonders if Xanthe is smart enough, Sheila cuts him off. Sheila is happy for Xanthe to dream big but is worried Xanthe is being unrealistic. Sheila thinks Xanthe would have wasted effort and time and feel downhearted.

GARY: Have you ever thought about getting into motivational speaking?

Sheila's mobile rings. It's Mishti calling to tell her what has happened to Xanthe.

Erinsborough Hospital
Xanthe is still unconscious and is brought in on a stretcher. It's reported that Xanthe has a broken sterna, GPS is 8, unresponsive to vocal commands. Gary and Sheila arrive, Gary is distraught. Sheila wants an update and if she will be alright. David calmly advises them to step back and let the medical staff help Xanthe.

DAVID: Xanthe could have a serious head injury and may need surgery but we're going to remain positive until we know more.

Mark arrives, he found out the news from Aaron. Mark wants to know about Chloe, Sheila tells him they only know what has happened to Xanthe. Sheila angrily wants to know who is responsible for this.

Susan wants to know if the car theft has been reported to the police, Elly has already done this. They haven't heard from Bea and are worried about her whereabouts plus it's now dark. Karl points out lots of people took part in the scavenger hunt. She was hopefully rescued by someone and is safe. Elly wants to know why Bea hasn't contacted them if she's safe. There's a knock at the door. Elly wants to check Bea's apartment. Karl opens the door to Mishti. Mishti tells them the car has been found. They're relieved but not so happy to hear the vehicle has been damaged in an accident. Mishti asks Elly to answer some questions at the station.

Bea's Place
Bea is sitting on the sofa when Finn arrives home. Bea tells him she's been worried as he has been out for a long time. Bea couldn't call him as she didn't have a phone. Finn tells her he had gone to visit Elly which stuns Bea. He explains he did this after the way she reacted the night before. Bea wants to know how Elly reacted. Finn says it wasn't the best idea. Finn tells Bea that he shared their plans about Elly being a witness and that they plan to elope. Finn tells Bea that Elly went mad. Elly thinks their plan is mad and refuses to be part of it.

FINN: I told her that we don't need her approval. That you and I know what we have.

Bea wants to call Elly and wants to find her phone. Finn claims to not know where it is. He suggests it's in the car or when she had it during the scavenger hunt. Bea wants to check the car and wants to go and talk to Elly in person. Finn discourages her. He tells her that Elly said Bea would be throwing her life away because Finn is in a wheelchair. Bea is stunned. Finn explains that's why he was reluctant to meet the rest of the family. He guessed they would judge him and they have done exactly that. Bea wonders if Finn misunderstood but he insists he didn't. Finn apologises as he encouraged her to get back in touch with her family. He tells her that she was correct about Elly not being a good person. Bea says she thought Elly had changed. Finn wants to know if Bea is still willing to marry him, she does. Finn suggests they go and get married now and get away from this place. They kiss and Bea agrees.

Erinsborough Hospital
David, Mark, and Aaron are in Chloe's hospital room, she is in bed. David tells Chloe that she has bruised ribs which are preferable to fractured ribs. He mentions that the healing process takes 4 weeks. Aaron volunteers himself and Mark to look after her. David tells her there is a lot of bruising on her back and wants to get her to have more tests. Chloe refuses to have more tests or scans. Mark encourages her to have these but Chloe still refuses. David says he is going to check her back again instead. Chloe insists he needs to prioritise Xanthe. Chloe would be more badly injured if Xanthe hadn't pushed her out of the car's way. David reassures Chloe that Xanthe is in surgery and she is definitely being looked after. Chloe insists she is fine. David agrees but still wants to do an MRI, Chloe refuses. She insists she's not afraid and reminds them they can't do the tests without her permission.

Police Station
Mishti and Elly are in the interview room. Elly didn't see the person who drove off in her car. There was also no one around. Elly admits to having a couple of drinks whilst she was doing her marking she was doing this before she got the message from Bea. Elly is keen to go and find Bea. Mishti has some more questions. Elly is happy to co-operate but she is keen to find Bea. Mishti tells Elly that her car was involved in a hit and run. Mishti tells Elly that the car hit Xanthe and Chloe. They were taken to hospital and Xanthe is critical. Elly can go once she has done a breathalyser test. Elly insists she didn't do it. Mishti reminds her that it was Elly's car which hurt two people. Mishti has to do a thorough investigation before Elly is proved innocent.

Erinsborough Hospital
David and Aaron are sitting at a table outside when Piper and Cassius arrive. Piper is desperate for positive news. David admits they haven't had news yet, Xanthe hasn't come out of surgery yet. The surgery is due to there is bleeding in the front of her brain. The operation is to relieve the pressure. Piper worries about how to find the right words when she sees Gary and Sheila. Cassius reassures her that they'll be grateful for her support. Piper and Cassius head into the hospital.

Aaron asks David if it was strange about Chloe refusing the MRI scans even though she can be unpredictable. David points out that it's a lot for Chloe and she's feeling guilty that Xanthe was badly hurt. Aaron thinks it's a mad idea that Chloe doesn't think she is entitled to care.

Road Somewhere
Finn and Bea are in the car, Bea is driving. Finn tells Bea that he has found a place that is perfect and it has a spa. Bea isn't so enthusiastic and Finn encourages her to not think about Elly. Bea insists her mind isn't on Elly which pleases Finn. Bea asks Finn for a snack as she is hungry. Bea bought them earlier and they're in the glove box. Finn claims he ate all of them. Bea tells Finn she is wanting to go back as she needs to chat with Elly. Finn disagrees as they are already halfway there. Bea tells Finn she can't understand why Elly judged Finn when she lives with Susan who has MS. Finn admits there was another thing besides the wheelchair. Elly pointed out the difference in their ages, Bea is too young to decide this is what she wants. Finn tells Bea he doesn't want to spoil their big day tomorrow.

Erinsborough Hospital
Sheila is pacing whilst Gary, Piper and Cassius sit on the bench. Amy and Elly arrive and ask after Xanthe. Sheila tells them that Xanthe is still undergoing surgery and it is taking a very long time.

ELLY: I keep going over and over in my head what I could have done to stop this.

Sheila is confused about what Elly is talking about. Amy says they'll need to find out and Gary comes over to find out what is going on. Elly explains her car which had been stolen was the one that hit Xanthe. Elly wasn't responsible for this but knows that it still won't fix things.

David arrives and Sheila is desperate for news. David tells everyone that he needs to talk to Gary and Sheila in private so the others head off. David tells them that Xanthe has come out of surgery and will now go to the ICU.

DAVID: She's been placed in an induced coma to give her body the best chance it has of healing itself.
SHEILA: That's good isn't it?
GARY: What else doctor?
DAVID: Although the surgery was keyhole it was - ended up being very complicated. The bleed on her brain was more extensive than we thought.

Sheila realises that there could be brain damage. David tells them they can't tell for certain until Xanthe has woken up. Gary asks when Xanthe will wake up, David admits it's possible she might not.

DAVID: She may not. You should know there's a 50/50 chance that she'll make it through the night. (Gary looks devastated and Sheila is crying.)

Road Somewhere
Finn is sleeping. We can hear Yashvi and Elly's doubts going through Bea's head. Elly wakes Finn up to ask why he went alone to talk to Elly. Finn tells her he wanted to get Elly on their side. Bea thinks if she had been there it would have been better. Finn says that's possible or things could have gone more downhill. Bea points out that she knows Elly herself and thinks she would have been upset but not judgemental. Finn who is annoyed by now insists he's not making this up, he's telling the truth. Bea relents and says she would have wanted to be there to help things along. Finn says his legs are hurting. He says he is tired and the motel isn't far away.

Erinsborough Hospital
Elly and Mark are outside the hospital. Elly is wondering how somebody could do this deliberately. Mark points out the person might not intentionally have done it. The person might have panicked after accidentally hitting them, left the car to avoid detection. Mark asks if Elly saw the driver, she didn't. Elly was frantically searching for Bea who hasn't got back to her yet. Mark says it's ok if Elly wants to look for Bea but Elly wants to be here for Xanthe.

Cassius and Piper are sitting outside the hospital. Cassius comments that Elly seems out of sorts. Piper agrees that it's natural after Elly's car was involved in the hit and run. Cassius wants to know why Elly hasn't gone to check on Bea. Piper explains that Elly cares a lot about Xanthe, they all do. Cassius wonders if it's more than that but Piper stops him. She knows that Elly wasn't driving.

Gary and Sheila are looking through the window at an unconscious Xanthe who is hooked up to various wires. Amy comes over to them, she hasn't managed to contact Brooke yet. Amy is sure that Brooke will contact them shortly. An upset Sheila is determined that Xanthe needs to get through this. Sheila despairs over the last words they shared. She goes to Gary but he refuses to comfort her after what she said. Sheila knows that but wants them to comfort each other.

GARY: If Xanthe dies knowing that you didn't believe in her that's the bed you made. You have to lie in it.

Sheila can't believe what Gary has just said. Amy backs Sheila up saying this isn't the time or place, they're both upset. Gary is determined to concentrate on Xanthe and goes into Xanthe's room. Amy comforts Sheila.

Gary waits next to Xanthe's bed and time lapses.

Police Station
It is now morning. Shane brings Mishti a coffee. Shane says that Sheila has been at No.32 and she is a mess. Dipi feels bad that the hit and run happened when they were doing the scavenger hunt. Shane wants to know if they are close to finding the car thief. Mishti asks for Shane's help. She asks Shane if he can identify the person in the video. He sees a woman walk into a store and identifies her as Elly. (Though it's actually Bea.) Mishti thought the same and explains that the store is near the National Park. The snacks and receipt were in Elly's car, stating when they were bought. It all matches up but Elly says she was doing marking at home at that time. Shane wants to know why Elly has lied about this. Mishti explains that sometimes individuals can panic and not tell the truth about what actually happened. Mishti explains that Elly was also drinking. She was under the limit when she was tested but it's possible she was over when the accident happened.

Erinsborough Hospital
Chloe is happy that she is now discharged officially! She tells Mark he shouldn't mention the tests and he agrees.

Everyone is waiting in the waiting room (the same room as usual but with only chairs.) Gary tells them that Xanthe has got through the night! Everyone is relieved. Gary says it's unknown when Xanthe will wake up but he is convinced she will be ok as she's a Canning. Amy reassures Gary to take off as much time off as is needed. Chloe reassures Sheila that Terese can cover The Waterhole. Elly tells them that she and Susan will stock their fridge as well. Gary is grateful for all of this.

Mishti arrives and asks to have a word with Elly. She explains she needs to ask her a few more questions. They go outside the room and Mishti tells Elly she needs to come to the station. Elly reminds Mishti that she has already told her everything she knows. Elly wants Mishti to tell her what is going on now.

MISHTI: Elly you're under arrest.
GARY: You were the driver!

Elly strongly denies this as Gary berates her. Mishti stops him.

Road Somewhere
Bea and Finn are in their wedding outfits. Bea pulls over and Finn asks why they are stopping as they're near the place. Bea says things don't seem ok so they can't get married today. Finn reassures her that after being restless all night she is feeling tired. They're all ready so he just wants to go ahead.

BEA: You're not listening to me. Stop telling me what to do! It's just so controlling. I don't want to live the rest of my life like this.

Finn tells her calmly not to do this. She loves him, she's sorry but now isn't the time for them to get married. Finn has a flashback of Elly telling him it's not the right time for them to be together. Finn tells Elly that two people can find a way to be together if they're meant to be together. He then says the same words to Bea. Bea still refuses, she needs time to think. Bea gets out of the car. Finn tells her she will be sorry if she walks away from him.

BEA: It's not as if you can come after me.

Bea starts walking away from the car as Finn gets out of the car. Bea sees him race towards him and is confused.
