Susan toasts Karl's new position along with Karl, Bea and Elly. They are all very enthusiastic about it. Susan points out it's also positive news as Karl's health has not been the best lately. Bea wants to know more about the trial so Karl and Susan give more details. Bea realises the MS attack will be stopped as the drugs are helping.

KARL: The treatment's only suitable for relapsing remitting type of MS, the type that Susan has.

Elly agrees that for a lot of people things will change. Susan is happy to participate if the trial is going ahead. Karl is more cautious and admits that the trial doesn't have Clive's support. Clive is worried about his position and his vote was strategic. Karl wishes that politics weren't involved as he knows that the trial would help Susan. Susan thinks that Clive will tow the line if the rest of the board want the trial. So hard luck to Clive!

No.30
Toadie reports to Sonya that after four stories Nell is finally asleep. Sonya is reading her book and not paying much attention. Toadie points out it's been quite a time since it was just the two of them. Toadie tries to get amorous. Sonya tells him she ate too much and her tummy isn't great. Toadie realises tonight isn't a great idea and Sonya apologises. They both admit they miss Steph. Toadie thinks it's better not to tell Sheila! Whilst Sonya makes a hot drink her phone beeps. Toadie looks at the phone.

No.28
Elly and Bea are washing up. Elly has got all the prep done for the event at school but is needing parents that can supervise. Susan brings over some dishes, Elly tells her she doesn't need to tonight because of the MS trial. Karl thinks they should hold celebrations until they've finished the trial. Elly points out he shouldn't put a dampener on things. Karl says his aim is to be realistic. After all that's happened in the last 10 years with her MS, Susan just wants to hope. Bea ponders on the fact that Susan will need to stay healthy. Susan agrees with this but points out that stress doesn't help. Bea points out Susan has Karl and Elly to help, Elly doubts that's always been the case. Susan tells Elly to stop feeling guilty. Elly tells Bea about Finn swapping vitamins with Susan's pills and Susan was very ill. Bea mentions that Mark had told her about Elly's ex who hurt others, she reassures them it wasn't gossip.

ELLY: I don't think anyone knew what Finn was capable of.
BEA: What sort of person would do something like that? Did he know you was sick?

Susan confirms Finn knew she had MS, he was obsessed with them. Karl wants to find another topic to talk about, but Susan is happy to talk about it. Susan says that Finn is in prison where he deserves to be. Elly states that Finn is a loser.

Harold's café
Toadie is sitting at a table and looking at pictures of Dee, one in a blue dress and one that Stonie sent to him on his mobile. Shane comes over and Toadie tells him he's meeting Paul. Paul is going to give the photos to the contact to help them track down Andrea. Toadie thinks it's not much if they're able to find Andrea and get the money back. Shane thought they would be enjoying some alone time now that Steph has moved away! Toadie admits he tried but nothing happened, he got a cup of tea instead. Toadie admits they were all lovey dovey not long ago. Shane points out they were also trying for another baby. Toadie admits since that's been delayed nothing else is happening. Shane agrees that sometimes happens but it's not the case with Dipi. He starts giving details but Toadie tells him to stop right there! Shane offers to give him some tips, Toadie isn't so keen!

Bea's Place
Finn and Bea are in bed. Finn wants to know how dinner went, Bea says it went ok. She tells him that Karl has been voted onto the hospital board so they were celebrating. She tells him that if the clinical trial for MS can happen it will be good for Susan.

No.28
Karl comes in from the bedrooms on his crutches to find Elly sitting at the counter. He comments that she is up late, she can't sleep and Karl wants to know what she is thinking about. Elly is wondering if they should let Susan be so involved in the trial if Clive is against it. Karl has also had doubts, Elly points out it could risk his career. Karl isn't so bothered about that, Susan is his main priority. He wants this to work for Susan's sake. He was almost broken when Susan first received her diagnosis, he wants to find a cure if possible. This is his best chance of making that possible. The risks are outweighed by the benefits. Elly agrees but is feeling down after Finn was mentioned.

Bea's Place
Finn reminds Bea that she hadn't planned to talk to them about the evil ex, she tells him it was mentioned when they were chatting. Susan's last relapse was caused by the evil ex.

Karl reminds Elly that Finn is no longer part of any of their lives.

Bea's Place
Bea tells Finn that the evil ex attempted to ruin their lives. He played on the fact that he had a stroke. Finn comments the evil ex seemed to have fooled them. Bea tells him that they got the better of the evil ex. Elly's career is going well and Susan is about to embark on the MS trial.

BEA: There is only one loser in all of this and that is Finn Kelly.

Finn comments that they've put it in the past and wants to know more about the trial.

No.30
Sonya is trying to hurry Nell along when there is a knock at the door. (No sign of Nell but we hear her reply.) Sonya opens the door to find Cassius on the other side. Sonya is suddenly all afluster and apologises for not being dressed. He agrees that the day has hardly started. He's working at No.28 and is looking for some spare malt. The malt is at the nursery and she offers to take him, introducing herself as the nursery owner. She is going to get ready. Cassius notes as she runs a nursery she won't need help in the garden but gives her his business card anyway. Sonya will remember that - strictly for gardening purposes of course!

Bea's Place
Finn thinks that Bea is running late for work, Bea explains that she is working this afternoon. This means they can spend time together this morning. Finn suggests that as Elly needs volunteers at the school Bea should go and help her out. Bea realises he's trying to get rid of her and he admits that is the case. Finn points out that she should put Elly first and he realises he is Bea's priority. The rehab nurse is due to come over. Finn suggests that she wears the dress he bought for her. She suggests she saves it for a special event, he says that each day is a special event with Bea.

Erinsborough Hospital
Karl and Rita arrive to find Susan sitting in the waiting area. She explains that she has been waiting to find out what happened at the meeting. Karl tells her that everyone is enthusiastic about starting the trial which pleases Susan. She has filled in the participation documents and hands them over. She is happy to be their guinea pig! Rita says there are lots of others happy to participate despite the fact that the press release was released the night before. Rita has found an office that's close and is looking for people to help with the admin. Karl offers to help but Susan reminds him he shouldn't overdo it. Rita agrees and Karl points out they wouldn't let him! Rita tells him he will have a lot of things to do once the results are ready.

Erinsborough High
Elly is surprised to see Bea who explains she's here to volunteer. Elly is happy for her to help and very grateful for it. Bea hands Elly's jacket to her. Elly admires Bea's dress which is similar to the one she was wearing the night before. Elly points out they both have good taste! They head off together as the bell rings.

Toadie comes home to an empty house.

Sonya's Nursery
Sonya watches as Cassius relaxes in just his shorts, then lifts a bag of malt onto the truck. She tells him they need to go.

Sonya arrives home and starts seducing Toadie. Toadie is happy to comply!

Office
Rita is showing Karl the office. She apologises that everything isn't organised yet. Karl reassures her it's ok as things are happening at a fast pace. Rita explains that there won't be many staff as she won't be in Melbourne frequently. Karl wants to sort out the criteria that makes the participants eligible. Karl gets out of breath and Rita is concerned. He insists he's ok but is still wincing. Rita tells him she's worried about him. He tells her chest pain isn't unusual after all he's been through but Rita insists on going to the hospital.

Bea's Place
Finn is dressed in a suit and admiring himself in the video he's taking of himself on the phone. He answers another mobile to an unseen Bea. He claims he's about to start therapy though there is no one else there. He's happy for her to spend a few hours at the school and he will focus on his therapy.

No.30
Toadie and Sonya come out of the bedroom, Toadie wonders how he will concentrate on work! They agree that is a brilliant way to spend the morning and kiss. Toadie is curious why Sonya changed her mind. She was tired last night but is no longer tired. She had allowed herself to forget what freedom was like as well. They agree they're missing Steph, they're just making the most of their freedom! They tell each other they love each other and kiss.

No.32 Backyard
Shane is cleaning out the pool when Toadie arrives. Toadie tells him that things are happening again! Toadie has no idea why this has happened but he's happy. He talks about being ready for work, then he isn't. Shane would rather not have the details! Toadie reminds him he wanted to share about him and Dipi. Shane admits they should leave bedroom antics in the bedroom, Toadie agrees the same with the kitchen.

Cassius arrives looking for Mr Rebecchi, they tell him they both are Mr Rebecchi. Shane tells Shane that Dipi was interested in a gardener and hands him his business card. This is the first Shane has heard of it and Toadie looks pensive. Cassius isn't fazed and suggests Dipi calls him. The Cannings and Kennedys can give him recommendations. Toadie explains that he doesn't need a card as Sonya runs the nursery. Cassius says that he met Sonya this morning, shakes each man's hand and leaves. Shane and Toadie rave about Cassius's muscles. Toadie suddenly remembers work!

Erinsborough Hospital
Karl and Rita come out of the room. Rita admits she was wrong and Karl was right. Karl agrees that it's not uncommon to have twinges. Coming in was a good idea as it's best to be cautious. Rita doesn't want him to overdo it but Karl insists he'll be ok. Rita is due to interview people this afternoon to take some of the pressure off. She reminds him to call Susan to update her. Karl doesn't want to disturb Susan as she's at school. She tells him he needs to tell Susan. He promises to tell Susan, he just doesn't want to add stress before Susan's trial. Rita reminds him something worse could possibly happen to him.

Office
Rita apologises for being late. She explains there was an emergency and they need more help. As the press release went out last night she is grateful for the person getting in touch already. The camera swings round to reveal the person is Finn! Finn (who is using his wheelchair) is enthusiastic about the work and Rita realised this on the phone. Finn hands his CV over and Rita wants to find out more about 'Patrick'.

Erinsborough High
Karl arrives as Susan and Elly arrive at the bottom of the outside stairs. Susan thought he had a meeting with Rita. Karl agrees with this but points out Rita has told him not to overdo things. Karl tells them about the interview for an assistant right now. Karl tells them about the turn which alarms them but he insists that it was a chest pain that was mild. He got checked out at the hospital and all is fine. Susan worries he's taking on too much but Karl promises Susan he'll make sure he is ok. He is determined to make this trial work.

Office
Rita is impressed with the initiative 'Patrick' has shown but he doesn't have experience in a clinical trial which she needs the suitable candidate to have. He tells her that he is passionate and motivated. Rita points out that other candidates will have the same. Finn offers to work for free as an intern, he really wants to be part of this. Rita wants to know why he feels this is so important. Finn tells her that this is a personal thing. He tells her he has MS. Rita tells him that hadn't wanted to assume this was the case. Finn tells her the MS is primary progressive which is why he uses a wheelchair. Rita points out he wouldn't meet the criteria to take part in the trial.

FINN: I know what it's like to live with the uncertainty of a progressive disease.

Rita points out that he can't benefit from this trial. Finn agrees with this but suggests that the research could get more funding. He says he wouldn't hire himself either due to experience but he might find something that other candidates might not find in these people. Rita muses on the fact that he will work for free and Finn tells her he's able to start straightaway.
