Previously

- Amy kisses Nick, then tells him it should never have happened. He invites her for a coffee anyway
- A drunken Jack tells Mishti that she should go out with Leo, and she agrees to give it a shot
- Amy suggests to Steph that the motel would be a great venue for the wellness centre
- Paige encourages Steph to see if Adam wants to see her more regularly
- But the day turns sour when Adam tries to rescue the toy car by crawling under a real one
Car park
Adam is still crawling under the car trying to retrieve the toy - and the driver is just starting up the engine! A desperate Steph scales the fence and rushes over to the car, screaming to the driver (credited as Laura Constable) to stop because Adam is underneath. The driver turns the engine off, and Steph helps Adam get out from the car's underside, hugging him with relief.
Lassiter's
Nick is in his hotel room when Amy turns up to see him, to see how he's coping after the death of Ollie, the young cancer patient. He says it's never easy when a child dies, but that he's asked Ollie's parents if he can attend the funeral. Amy's sure they'll appreciate it.
Nick's also pleased at Terese's progress with her cancer treatment, though admits he's disappointed that it hasn't been possible to spend time with Terese outside of that and become closer again as siblings.
NICK: It feels like she's avoiding me.
Amy suggests he's overthinking it, and says they should go for a coffee or a walk to take his mind off things. She also suggests she could help Nick find a location for the wellness centre. Nick points out that Amy had said it was best for them not to be seen together. Amy replies that it's not a date - it's just a friend helping another friend. But her body language suggests otherwise. They leave together.

On the patio, Xanthe is running through colour schemes with Piper for Terese and Gary's wedding. Piper doesn't seem that invested, and she admits that she's only just getting used to the reality of the wedding because she was worried it wouldn't happen with Terese being ill. Xanthe agrees it hasn't been an easy time, but she says this is why it's so important the wedding is perfect.
PIPER: And it will be. Because you're in charge.
XANTHE: I know it's only a small wedding, but it's their big day. I can't stuff it up.
Piper encourages Xanthe to bounce more ideas off her. Xanthe needs tea first, so announces she's heading home to collect her chamomile/peppermint blend. She leaves her tablet with Piper so she can look through the ideas she's had so far. But as Xanthe leaves, Piper looks a little alarmed by the ideas Xanthe has in mind!
Car park
Ben has met up with Steph and Adam again to pick up Tyler's remote control car; Steph gets a text from Lucas, who is coming to pick Adam up in a minute. Steph's still a little traumatised by Adam's near miss, but Ben's impressed having heard of her heroics just now.
BEN: You're like Katniss, Rey and Wonderwoman all rolled into one. What do you think of your mum?
ADAM: She's a legend.
Steph asks Adam if they should ask Dan if he can spend some more time with her soon. Adam seems keen, but asks if Steph will tell Dan about the car incident. Steph says it's best that they tell the truth, but is sure that Dan and Lucas will understand. However, she looks worried.
Harold's Café
Amy and Nick are looking at potential wellness centre locations in Elliot Park and Anson's Corner, but they're all out of the price range. Amy mentions that she talked to Steph about the motel as a venue, but Nick can't see Paul or Leo going for that.
AMY: She'd have to buy them out, and it could get tricky. But, you know, it's good to look at all the options. You never know - something perfect might turn up.
Elly and Leo come in; Elly is giving Leo advice about his date with Mishti. Leo cockily asserts that he's got this; he knows what a woman wants.
ELLY: If that's the case, then why do I see fear in your eyes?
Leo spots Nick and Amy sitting together, and rushes over to confront them, demanding to know why they're looking at commercial real estate. Leo's appalled when Amy admits she's helping Nick to find a venue for the wellness centre.
LEO: When are you gonna wake up? He's using you!
NICK: You know what? That is not true!
LEO: This is about your ego! You're just pursuing this so you can become a doctor again.
NICK: Leo, there is no chance of that, okay? I'm just trying to do something constructive to help people.
LEO: Nobody believes that.
AMY: I believe it.
NICK: You know, I'm not even looking for a confrontation.
LEO: You're being provocative just by being here! I'm gonna let every real estate agent in the area know who you are and what you did. You won't be opening any wellness centre. I'll make sure of it.
AMY: You've said enough, Leo. Now go.
LEO (to Nick): I'm watching you. You so much as step out of line, and I'll bring you down.

Piper continues to scroll through Xanthe's tablet with a look of alarm on her face. Xanthe returns.
XANTHE: Okay, I have regained my zen!
Piper immediately expresses her concern with what she thinks Xanthe is considering for the bridesmaids' dresses. However, Xanthe explains that she wasn't looking at the dress for the wedding.
XANTHE: It's just something I was thinking about for the Year 12 formal.
PIPER: ... Oh.
XANTHE: But I'm not going anymore. So it's fine. But I was just thinking, you know, that if I was to go, then I wouldn't do all those dumb things, trying to make my night perfect.
PIPER: Oh, come on. You aren't the only one that did dumb things. I mean, I threw a jug of sangria all over Ms Conway.
XANTHE: Well, that's all in the past. I just thought that if I was going to go, then everything would be totally above board. And affordably vintage! ... The formal is just all about making memories with friends, and having photos to look back on forever. But, you know, I'm not going now. And I don't go to school. And I don't really have any friends, so... I wouldn't need this dress anyway!
PIPER: ...
Xanthe insists she's cool with everything and likes working at the day spa, but Piper can see she's putting a brave face on it, and looks heartbroken for her.
Erinsborough Backpackers
Jack is lolling about in a towel when Steph arrives.
STEPH: Put some clothes on!
JACK: I am getting there. It's just that laundry day and me don't always agree.
STEPH: You hung over?
JACK: A little.
Steph admits she's here to talk to someone - she needs a mate after her traumatic day with Adam. Jack invites her inside to talk about it.
Shortly afterwards, Jack assures Steph that what happened with Adam wasn't her fault, but she points out that he was in her care.
STEPH: I just felt so helpless. I got the fright of my life - it's just a horrible feeling to feel powerless to do anything.
JACK: But you did do something. You saved him. That's not powerless at all.
STEPH: I was just so scared. I was so scared. I haven't felt that way in a long time (...) In that moment, where I was cut off from him, it was like I had this wave of clarity wash over me, right? It's like, my priorities - I dunno, it just felt like they were out of whack. Like I'd been travelling in the wrong direction or something.
JACK: Pull out your phone.
STEPH: Why?
JACK: I want you to make a list of what matters to you most, and what you want to achieve.
STEPH: Oh, Jack, it's as useless as New Year's resolutions!
JACK: Okay, well that's just your insecurities talking. All I'm saying is sometimes it pays to be upfront about what you truly want. Okay? Just blurt it out, and don't second-guess it.
STEPH: I want to spend more time with Adam. I want to reconnect with him. I want my Charlie boy back in my life again.
JACK: Good, what else?
STEPH: I... I'm feeling stagnant in my career. I want to do something else. I... I...
JACK: Now pull out your phone, and write it down.
Harold's Café
Nick admits to Amy that Leo's words have stung.
NICK: He's right. People will never forget what I did - who I was. Selfish, egotistical. I'll always be remembered as that, no matter what good I do.
AMY: We've all done things that we're not proud of. I mean, look at Dad. I know he's not the best example, given your guys' history. But his philosophy in life was, do whatever it takes to get what you want, and who cares about the consequences.
NICK: So how's he different now?
AMY: I think he's slowly learning it's better to Do The Right Thingtm. Even if it's harder.
NICK: Well, that'd be your influence. Yours and Jimmy's.
AMY: He doesn't always get it right. But he really is trying to be a good dad. And grandad. I've seen it. And people will see that you've turned your life around, too. You just have to be patient.
Steph comes in, and joins them at the table. She tells them she might be able to help with their search for a place to host the wellness centre - the motel. But first, she needs to hear Nick's pitch. Amy and Nick look excited.

Piper approaches Xanthe with a box, and gets on her knees in front of her before opening it. It's a box of doughnuts, and the message inside reads: 'I donut want to go to the formal without you!'
XANTHE: Is this like a proposal?
PIPER: Think of it as a prom-posal!
Piper explains that Tyler's too caught up with family dramas to be bothered about the prom, and he'd probably be relieved not to go given all the difficulties last year. Xanthe isn't sure.
PIPER: Oh, come on, Xanthe - please! I want to celebrate what makes school so much fun, and that's you! You've been my best friend since we first met, and there's no-one else I'd rather have by my side.
XANTHE: I just don't think that I could face the other kids.
PIPER: Hey! If anyone gives you any trouble, I'm gonna be right by your side, okay? And we'll deal with it together.
XANTHE: ... Okay, fine! On one condition - no sangria!
PIPER: Deal!
They hug it out.
Robinson's Motel
Nick explaining to Steph how the wellness centre would work, while Amy tags along. Patients undergoing treatment at the hospital would stay at the wellness centre and receive additional care and holistic therapies. Steph seems sold already, saying it would be fantastic for the community. But Nick can't see Paul or Leo selling Steph their stake of the motel if they know Nick is involved.
STEPH: Contractually they have to. It was something I insisted on when we went into partnership.
AMY: But I thought you didn't have enough money to buy them out?
STEPH: Well, if I decide that this is what I want, then I'll find a way.
Steph shows Nick and Amy a photo of herself, from when she was undergoing chemotherapy for her breast cancer.
STEPH: When I was sick, I lost control of my whole life. Everything was dictated to me by doctors, and I just feel like a wellness centre would've given me the space to make choices about my own wellbeing. And that's just so important, cos it's just such an overwhelming time.
NICK: I'm really glad you pulled through.
STEPH: Thank you. I wasn't always sure I would. But yeah - being sick, it showed me that every day is precious. And you've got to fill it with purpose. And I'd forgotten. I'd forgotten all about that until earlier today. So I just want to do something that matters (...) So what do you say we make it happen? Right here, right now?
NICK: I say I'm in!
Nick and Steph shake hands.

Ben is playing his guitar, in practice for his lesson with Kirsha tomorrow. Xanthe comes in to talk to him, saying she wants him to know something before he finds it out from someone else.
XANTHE: Piper's asked me to be her formal partner.
BEN: What about Tyler?
XANTHE: He's got a lot going on at the moment. And Piper and I have been besties for ages, so I hope it's okay with you if I go?
BEN: You don't have to ask me!
XANTHE: Yeah, I do. After everything I put you through, I owe you that.
BEN: Well I'm cool with it. Really, you should come.
XANTHE: Great, cool! Cos I just didn't want there to be any weirdness between us.
BEN: There won't be.
XANTHE: Cos the last thing I'd want is to ruin your night. So if you said to me, 'no, Xanthe, I don't want you to go,' I wouldn't. Even though I really want to! Which is weird, because I didn't finish the year, but it would still be nice to celebrate finishing school.
BEN: Yeah. Yeah, I get that.
XANTHE: One more thing. I want you to know that if you want to ask someone to the formal, then I'm totally okay with that.
BEN: I know you're worried about me and Yashvi -
XANTHE: No, look, it's fine. You asked me not to talk about it, and I'm respecting it. I just want you to be happy. And I know we're not together anymore. And I know I hurt you, and I'm really sorry.
BEN: Thanks.
Xanthe leaves; Ben bids her goodbye, and looks thoughtful as he goes back to his guitar.
Lassiter's
Amy and Nick arrive back at his room. Nick says that they look close to making the wellness centre a reality, and that it's all down to Amy for getting Steph on board.
AMY: We've come a long way in a day.
NICK: The day's not over yet.
He kisses her on the lips, and afterwards, Amy rushes to the door.
NICK: Please don't go.
Nick thinks she's leaving because she's angry or upset at him making a move, but instead, she's just putting the 'do not disturb' sign on the door handle outside!
AMY: I'm not going anywhere!
They kiss again.
Lassiter's Lake
The next morning, Elly is doing yoga by the lake.
Erinsborough Backpackers
Jack arrives. He gets a text message from Steph, saying happy Father's Day, and thanking him for yesterday. He smiles. Elly comes in, fresh from her yoga session, and goes to talk to Leo, asking him where he's taking Mishti on their date. Leo seems distracted, and when challenged, says he has other things on his mind.
LEO: I don't get it! How can Nick be opening a cancer wellness centre?! He's a lowlife!
ELLY: Regardless of what you think, it's a great idea! I've been to health and yoga retreats, and a holistic approach is incredibly beneficial. Look how much it helped Suze after her MS relapse.
LEO: I don't have a problem with the concept. Just the man behind it.
ELLY: Nick hasn't put a foot wrong since he stepped out of prison.
LEO: But he will! And I want him far away from the people I care about before that can happen.
ELLY: You mean Amy.
LEO: She's being naïve. And he's taking advantage of her good nature. I just want him gone.
Elly suggests trying to find a site for the wellness centre in another state, but Leo reminds her Nick can't go interstate because of his parole conditions.
ELLY: Then get over it! And put a bit of trust in Amy. Do you want there to be friction between you two?
LEO: Of course I don't!
ELLY: So put your feelings aside for Nick, and move on! Preferably before the Father's Day brunch.
LEO: Alright. I'll play nice with Amy. But Nick needs one more warning.
Lassiter's
Amy is bidding goodbye to Nick - it appears she's spent the night and that they've TITTNLtm. They kiss, just as Leo arrives, presumably to give Nick his warning. Upset, Leo hides out of sight, and waits for the lift. Amy turns the corner and runs into Leo - it's awkward.
