Number 22
Gary answers Terese's phone for her (its Paige) and he gives her the edited highlights about what the consultant said before adding that they'll explain more when she gets home. The pair are on tenterhooks to hear how Nick has got on at his parole hearing, which is that afternoon.

Backpackers
Steph is sitting about as far away from Gabe as she can get away with and seems extremely relieved when Paige comes by to get him. After quickly explaining where Jack is, she literally grabs her stuff and bolts from the place, leaving Paige very bemused.

Number 32
Mishti wants to know why you can just about hear a pin drop as she enters the kitchen and Dipi replies it's because Toadie and Willow are away. She is sure it isn't just that, so changes tact by saying she has brought home supplies for Rakhi. After Yashvi points out that Jay isn't here, Shane adds in that they are not in the mood to celebrate it. Mishti thinks that given what's happened lately, it's even more important that they celebrate.

Penthouse suite
Terese goes around to tell Paul about it being Nick's parole hearing and that she's decided to talk on his behalf too - she's weighted up all he said as well as what Nick did.

TERESE: I really have to believe that he's changed, and he says that he can help me with my treatment.
PAUL: And you trust him with your health do you, even though you know what he is capable of?
TERESE: He's my brother Paul and I really need him right now.

Paul doesn't seem pleased that Clive has gotten involved by writing a letter of recommendation. "I really hope you understand why I'm doing this," she asks but Paul is against Nick being let out.

TERESE: I didn't come here to ask for your permission.

Harold's Cafe
Steph runs into David in the café and asks if he knows when Karl is back, "not exactly" he replies and offers his services, so they go and grab a seat.

Number 22
Jack returns a toy of Gabe's that was left behind and apologises for not letting Paige know Steph was babysitting in advance, he thought it would be okay since she "is so great with kids."

Harold's Cafe
Steph gives David a quick rundown of her history - that she had a breakdown and got confused after coming off her meds and took someone's child.

Number 22
Paige admits she didn't know Jack and Steph were hanging out and he confirms that they are "kind of seeing each other" and probably should have said something although adds that it is early days. "I hope this isn't a problem for you?" he asks and she replies no and then tells him about Steph acting weird and running off when she got to the backpackers.

Harold's Cafe
Steph continues by saying that she takes her meds and sees her psych regularly before going on to tell him about today and having a flashback to the day she took Patrick.

STEPH: And straight after, I swear I heard Gabe call me mumma.

Number 22
Jack reaffirms that he will always put Gabe first, which Paige knows because she trusts him.

PAIGE: And if you trust her...
JACK: Yes, I do absolutely.

Harold's Cafe
"And it happened a couple of times," she adds. David admits mental health isn't his field but knows that when we are tired, meds need adjusting, so her symptoms could mean be an indicator. Steph admits she has missed some sleep and David reassures her that's the first thing he'd check.

Jack says bye to his son and it almost looks like Gabe waves goodbye!

The Waterhole
A very irate Paul storms into the bar to have a go at Sheila for standing by and doing nothing as Clive was convinced to help Nick. Sheila explains she wasn't doing anything to him, she was helping Terese and adds that Nick isn't getting his job back, he's going to be allowed to continue his research which might help his sister.

SHEILA: No matter what Nick Petrides did, he is still the most knowledgeable brain on cancer in this country.

"Yes and he's also a complete psychopath," is Paul's description of him rather than an eminent researcher and asks if that who she really wants treating Terese! "Do you even care about her at all?!" Paul finishes with before Gary interjects to say if Paul is looking for someone to get angry at then to do so at him because he's "willing to do whatever it takes to save the woman I love."

PAUL: And you think I don't want that too?
GARY: The chemo isn't working and we need to find another way.
PAUL: Then we find a new doctor but just not him.

Gary points out that Nick will get out sooner or later and if it's now, he might do some good.

PAUL: He will hurt her.
GARY: He won't. People can change Paul. Wake up and smell the coffee, Nick is the best shot Terese has.

Tanaka apartment
David is showing Aaron his baby photos when Mishti drops by to see Aaron (on a work-related). She comments on the very weird atmosphere she left at home, unlike there, and Aaron gives her an idea on how she can sort things when he regales tales of Mark handcuffing Tyler and himself together until they sorted it out.

AARON: Maybe handcuffs are the Brennan Rakhi!

Number 32
The family have moved out to the backyard but it's still as strained among them. It looks like Mishti has acquired the whole of the Erinsborough police force's handcuffs as she uses them to handcuff the whole family together including herself.

MISHTI: Happy Rakhi my family!

"Handcuffs?" a bemused Yashvi comments and Shane adds in that its "not exactly classic Rakhi Mish!" Kirsha wants to know if they are real police ones whereas Dipi just wants to be freed! "Nope!" is the reply to that and Mishti explains why she's handcuffed them all together - she wants them to confront their problems since the "family isn't the stew in silence type," more like a "yell until we're done then get back to normal."

MISHTI: This last while has been excruciating, so no-one is getting free until we clear the air, okay!

She asks who wants to start and is met by silence, so tries a different tact by telling them she's just used the toilet so can wait all day! And to reinforce what she is doing, Mishti takes the keys from her pocket and throws them away!

Number 22
Gary, with help from Sheila, has got a list of potential wedding venues and asks Terese to look through them and pick one so he can book it. Sheila thinks that they should have an engagement party but Terese's mind is on other matters just now - Nick's parole hearing. They give her hope that Paul might have a change of heart too after Gary's chat with him earlier.

GARY: Looks like Paul might be finally getting the message to back off!

Warrinor prison
It looks like Paul didn't get the memo as Nick is led into the visitor's room to meet Paul! Nick tries to start off with asking how folk are but is immediately cut off so Paul can inform him he is there for one reason only - to tell him that he is never leaving prison. "I want to help Terese," Nick replies to Paul's statement and explains how his treatment plan will work better.

PAUL: I wouldn't trust you near her not for one second.
NICK: Please, don't stop me from using my god given gift to help.

Paul scoffs at him using the term 'gods given gift' and doesn't believe Nick either when he says he has repented and that religion has put him back on the right path.

PAUL: Just who do you think you are taking to?! What you think I'm foolish enough to be taken in by you again? Now I know that you are an opportunist but using your sister's illness to get out of here? You disgust me! You know what, I am going to do everything in my power to make sure that you stay in here and away from her.

The Waterhole
Paige confides in Mark about her fears that Steph didn't seem in a good way adding that she has a bad feeling. "Does that make me a bad person?" she asks after admitting she's not sold completely about Steph minding Gabe either. "No, it makes you Gabe's mother," is Mark's reply and is "understandable given Steph's history" but he reassures Paige that she can be trusted, pointing out that she was great with Charlie, Sonya has no problem leaving Nell with her either and he was going to have a baby with her too.

MARK: And I wouldn't have done that if I wasn't completely confident of her stability.

"Yes I know," Paige acknowledges and Mark wonders if the real issue is her seeing Jack? "Not at all," she replies and Mark tells her to stop worrying, "Steph is completely dependable."

Number 32
The family still aren't talking but have at least made themselves comfy by sitting down on the grass instead of standing up!

Eventually Dipi begins by telling Shane she is annoyed at the continual secrets he is keeping from her since they moved to Erinsborough and asks that he stops leaving her out of things. Shane acknowledges the point and promises to talk to her before making any decisions in the future. Dipi is also annoyed at her sister being the cool auntie and at Yashvi for going to her for advice and pleads that she can trust her.

DIPI: Stop shutting me out.

"Deal," Mishti replies and both she and Yashvi apologise for making Dipi feel that way. Yashvi admits that it was weird going on a date with a boy and Kirsha pipes up to say that "it was weird for all of us." Dipi adds she didn't enjoy missing out on that first date experience and apologises to Shane for blaming him. Yashvi apologises to her sister for blanking her at school and both sisters agree the other can be annoying!

"That is more like it," Mishti declares after the girls start trading insults at each other. The elder sisters declare that they love the other before Mishti goes into her bag and pulls out the stuff she bought earlier to make real bracelets. "Wouldn't this be easier if we took the cuffs off Mish?" Dipi asks as the family start making bracelets. It appears they could be tied up a bit longer as it looks like Clancy has been up to something with the keys!

Tanaka apartment
Paul gives the boys the summarised version of what Nick did - pretended that he had cancer in the hope that when he was cured, the donations would come flooding in to get his research centre built. Leo is astonished at what Nick did, as he's known a scam or two and David reassures his dad that Nick won't get his medical licence back to enable him to treat Terese. Paul thinks he'll get around that by "advising her oncologist" and again, David doesn't think Dr Barnes would allow that. "Well Clive is," Paul points out and both boys offer their help to him if they can do anything. Paul wants them to come with him to the lawyers as he wants to update his victim impact statement.

PAUL: I want to make it quite clear that I am still traumatised and that he should not be released to do the same harm to Terese.

Number 30
Steph lets Mark into the house (he's dropping off something for Sonya) and he is impressed with the makeover the place has undergone. Mark comments about hearing that she is seeing Jack, to which she replies that it's just casual. He has spotted that Steph seems tired and suggests she gets some rest, but she can't as she's got some things on her mind and tells him that when she was babysitting Gabe, it felt like he spoke to her.

MARK: The baby?!

Steph confirms that it was a child's voice and came from him, quickly adding that she "probably hallucinated it." Mark asks if she's seen her doctor and she confirms she's an appointment for a couple of days but has spoken to David who thinks it might be fatigue or that her meds need adjusting. Mark reassures her that she will be fine but suggests she stays clear of Gabe until she sees her psych to keep her stress down. She pleads with him not to say anything to Paige, she doesn't want it turned into a bigger issue than it is, to which he nods his agreement.

Lassiters foyer
Paul is impatiently waiting for the taxi to take them to the parole office (the lawyer is meeting them there) when Gary pulls up in a car with Nick in the back!

NICK: Hello Paul.
