The Waterhole
David is telling Paul that he lied to Clive in order to save his job at the hospital - and that Leo's responsible for the mess. Paul is keen to learn more, saying he can help if David tells him what's going on. David admits that Mannix got injured in a knife attack, and that Leo roped David into helping to treat him outside the hospital system - and into stealing painkillers.
DAVID: I told Clive that I'd misread the drug expiry dates. Mistakenly thrown them out.
PAUL: Did he buy it?
DAVID: It was a hard sell. But he seemed to.
Paul doesn't understand why Leo is helping Mannix in the first place.
DAVID: Have you heard of the Renshaws?
Paul's reaction seems to suggest that he has...
The Shed
Mishti and Aaron are at the gym for a workout. Mishti notices that the 'sold' sticker has vanished from the for sale poster on the door. Aaron has already seen it, and is on the phone to the agent when Mishti tells him - but the agent informs him that the price has gone up by $20,000 since last week. Aaron says he's still interested, then hangs up, and reports this development to Mishti.
Aaron isn't sure whether the bank would lend him that much extra money to allow him to put in another offer, and Mishti isn't sure she's prepared to go in that high either. But they each promise to let the other know if they decide to make an offer.
Fitzgerald Motors
Ben is walking to work, accompanied by Yashvi with her bike. They see a new guy working at the garage; it's Ben's replacement as the apprentice, although Ben will still be working there himself outside school hours.
YASHVI: Better go brown-nose, otherwise you'll be stuck getting his coffee!
Ben goes to introduce himself to Evan, the new guy, although he seems a bit aloof, declining to shake Ben's hand. Tyler emerges and tells Ben that Evan's in the third year of his apprenticeship. Ben tells Tyler he's figured out what's wrong with a car out the front - but Tyler informs him that Evan has already taken care of it.
Tyler asks Ben to sweep up the yard and grab the coffees, while Evan helps him with real jobs inside.
EVAN: I'll take a flat white.
Ben feels left out.

Mishti is venting her insecurities about buying The Shed to Dipi, saying that Aaron has far more promotional experience etc. But she adds that she's not even sure he's putting in a bid. Dipi says there might be another way to make the business work, if she's open to looking at it with fresh eyes.
Power Street
Outside Grease Monkeys, Yashvi taunts Ben for his demotion to yard-cleaner.
YASHVI: Hey, you forgot your broom!
BEN: Don't you have anything better to do than just sit there and laugh at me?
YASHVI: I'm bored, you're funny. You are - your face is hilarious!
Ben moans that Evan seems to know everything about being a mechanic. Yashvi points out that Ben's the one who quit.
BEN: Don't rub it in.
YASHVI: Cheer up; I'm sure there's something you can help with. The new guy can't be perfect.
At that moment, Evan crosses the road to get an update on the coffee-run, and Yashvi quickly appears to be changing her mind about him not being perfect! Evan admires her BMX bike, and asks if she's on the relevant local Facebook group. She promises to check it out, and Evan smiles at her, before heading into Grease Monkeys, followed closely by Yashvi's gaze!
Ben clicks his fingers to regain her attention, but Yashvi rushes off suddenly, leaving Ben amused.

Mannix downs a bottle of water, while Leo is on the phone nearby, leaving messages with David, asking if he can make it up to him. Paul turns up.
PAUL: David's not like you and me. And I think it's unfair for you to rope him in on your schemes.
Paul reveals that David has told him everything, and tells Leo not to involve David in anything dodgy - he's 'too straight to twist his way out of things'. He goes on to explain that David has been busted for stealing the painkillers; his job's safe for now, but he could still face disciplinary action.
LEO: It's not like I wanted him involved.
PAUL: So why didn't you come to me? I said I could've helped. I still can.
LEO: I don't want you involved either. This is nothing to do with you.
PAUL: Alright. You know where to find me.
Paul walks off as Jack emerges, and tells Leo that Mannix is asking for more painkillers. Leo says he can't ask David again, and then explains that Paul wants to help. Jack is annoyed that Leo wouldn't let him.
JACK: It's either Paul, or we call an ambulance.
LEO: Let's just wait it out.
JACK: What happened to owning up to your responsibilities?
LEO: Mannix may be in pain, but he's not critical. We've still got time.

Mishti turns up to talk to Aaron. He says he was just coming to see her; it appears they've both had the same idea, about going into business together. He invites her in so they can discuss it further.
Harold's Café
Leo finds David moping at a table, having been ignoring his calls. David explains his decision to lie to Clive - he couldn't let Xanthe take the blame for stealing the meds, but adds that she's lost her work placement anyway.
LEO: I'm sorry. About all of this.
David asks how Mannix is doing; Leo explains he's still in a lot of pain. David says he knows Mannix doesn't want to go to hospital, but that there is another way - ask for help from Paul.
DAVID: He has money and contacts to fix this for you.
LEO: No way.
DAVID: So you're fine with me compromising myself, but you won't climb down off your high horse to accept help from our father?!
LEO: I can't do it. I can't ask him.
DAVID: Right. But you can ask me, because I owe you.
David hands Leo a wad of cash, saying it's the first repayment for the money Leo gave David to get him through medical school.
LEO: David, come on. Don't do this.
DAVID: I won't let you hold this over my head again. So I'm paying back every cent.
LEO: Please! It's not necessary.
DAVID: Just make sure Mannix gets the help he needs.
David walks out, leaving the money on the table. Leo looks worried.

Yashvi is looking at a top belonging to Mishti, and Dipi asks what she's doing. She claims to be doing the laundry. Dipi is sceptical.
YASHVI: Guys are so dumb liking this stuff - all strappy and skimpy. It's so stupid.
DIPI: Look - if you want to borrow your auntie Mish's top -
YASHVI: What?! As if! Half of it's missing anyway.
DIPI: Well, you're growing up now.
YASHVI: Mum!
DIPI: Oh, come on - it's natural to want to experiment. You've seen photos of me in my goth phase.
YASHVI: Yeah - velvet in the summer, sweat patch city.
DIPI: It wasn't that bad! Besides, it's who you are, not what you wear.
YASHVI: People always say that. But if you want someone to notice you...
DIPI: Someone? As in, someone you like?
YASHVI: I don't like anyone. You're doing that mum thing again.
DIPI: What mum thing?
YASHVI: The thing with the questions!
DIPI: Alright - well, I'll try to act less interested. But just so you know, you're my strong, smart, beautiful girl.
Dipi kisses Yashvi, much to her discomfort.
DIPI: And if you want to catch someone's eye, you just need to be yourself. Never apologise for who you are, Yashvi Rebecchi.
YASHVI: Whatever. I'm heading out for a bit.
DIPI: What happened to helping with the laundry?
Ramsay Street
Mark encounters Mishti and Aaron coming out of No 24, and they explain their business strategy to him. Mark makes polite faces as they talk.
MISHTI: To think, a while ago I swore I'd never lock myself into another commitment.
AARON: Yeah? Well I swore off dairy once. We all make mistakes, don't we?
MARK: ...
Mishti asks if Aaron's sure about the price they're going to offer the agent for The Shed. He insists that they won't miss out - if someone else offers more, they'll just go higher. They agree that Aaron will confirm the loan with the bank, while she talks to the agent. They bump fists and Mishti heads off, while Aaron sounds out Mark.
MARK: It's a big move, given you and Mishti hardly know each other.
AARON: Yeah, so what?
MARK: Well, you heard what she said about commitment, right?
AARON: Yeah, it was a casual comment.
MARK: ...
AARON: What?!
MARK: Well, she quit the police force. I mean, what if she quits this as well?
AARON: My gut says I can trust her.
MARK: Yeah, except your gut isn't always right, is it? I mean, you have made some serious mistakes, Aaron.
AARON: I'm not denying that I've made mistakes before. But I am not gonna let fear hold me back either, alright? Especially from an opportunity this good.
MARK: Well, as long as you remember why fear exists. To protect people. Just take some time. Think about who and what you're committing to - for Mishti's sake, as well as your own.
Power Street
Paul's just dropped his car in for a service, and runs into Jack outside Grease Monkeys. They discuss their shared knowledge of the Mannix situation; Paul says he has the contacts to make the issue go away, but that Leo's too proud to accept his help. Jack suggests Paul talk to Leo again, but Paul says Leo needs to swallow his pride before anything will change.
Over the road, Ben is still doing menial tasks in the garage forecourt when Yashvi appears on her bike. She's wearing the same T-shirt and shorts as before, suggesting she's taken Dipi's advice of being herself.
YASHVI: So my bike's been vibrating like crazy.
BEN: Want me to take a look at it?
YASHVI: I think I need a real mechanic.
She approaches Evan, and they smile at each other. Ben looks bemused.
No 32
Mishti is chilling by the pool when Mark turns up, wanting to talk to her about her business venture with Aaron. The agent has been in touch to say another buyer's about to put in an offer, but Mark says Aaron's gone for a run and left his phone behind, so Mishti won't be able to contact him. They have until close of play to make their next move.
Mark points out that the first buyer may have dropped out because they realised they rushed into it - implying she and Aaron might be doing the same. Mishti insists otherwise, but Mark asks her about leaving the police force, and whether that was the right decision too.
MISHTI: You know nothing about why I left the force.
MARK: Well, that's true. But you can't blame me for questioning your commitment.
MISHTI: When I make decisions, I don't make them lightly. I want this business, and I want it to succeed. That means I need Aaron. So you tell him the minute he gets back about the other buyer.
Fitzgerald Motors
Tyler is offering Ben the opportunity to cut back his hours so he can concentrate on his schoolwork, now Evan's here to pick up the slack. Ben objects vehemently to this idea, and Tyler tells him the offer remains open if he changes his mind. Meanwhile, Evan is test-riding Yashvi's BMX.
EVAN: There's nothing wrong with this bike.
YASHVI: So you like BMXs?
EVAN: Yeah.
YASHVI: I love this bike. I've taken it on some mad circuits.
EVAN: Well, you run into any trouble, just let me know.
Ben watches with amusement, as it becomes clear to him that Yashvi has a crush on Evan.
YASHVI: Don't you have to, err, adjust the brakes?
EVAN: Nope.
YASHVI: Sure?
EVAN: Yep!
YASHVI: You know, I've just moved here. I've been looking for some good tracks. Maybe you could show me some?
EVAN: I tell you what. I'll hit you up on Facebook and send you an invite to that BMX group.
YASHVI: Really?
EVAN: Sure. There's loads of info on there.

Evan gets back to work, and once he's out of earshot...
BEN: You like him, don'tcha?
YASHVI: I just like that he likes bikes. That's it.
BEN: Hmm, good. Cos if you do like him, you're trying way too hard.
YASHVI: Well, I don't.
BEN: Well, unless you're too gutless to admit it...
Yashvi wheels her bike away, smacking Ben neatly in the nether regions with her handlebar as she goes! He doubles over in agony.
YASHVI: Oh... You okay?
BEN: You did that on purpose, didn't you?
YASHVI: You're just being paranoid.
She walks off, leaving Ben to suffer in solitude.
Erinsborough Backpackers
Mannix is still in pain, and asks Leo if he has any better painkillers. Leo says they'll have to make do with what they have - David isn't coming back to help further. Leo says it's time to call an ambulance, but Mannix insists otherwise, saying they'll ask too many questions.
MANNIX: The Renshaws, they'll be waiting for me the second I get out. And I will tell them everything.
LEO: Do it! Tell them I snitched! After everything I've gotten away with over the years, I deserve to start paying for some of it.
MANNIX: I'll tell the cops about your brother too. About how he helped me.
LEO: He's not part of this anymore.
MANNIX: Treating a crim, stealing painkillers - he'll lose his medical licence. He might even end up in jail.
Annoyed, Leo grabs Mannix and pulls him to his feet - but Jack comes in and makes Mannix sit back down. Jack and Leo go outside.
JACK: There is another way out of this. But first, you need to accept that sometimes there is strength in humility.
LEO: What's that supposed to mean?
JACK: I think you already know the answer to that.
Robinson's Motel
Rain is pouring down as Leo arrives to speak to Paul. Seeing Paul is busy, he's about to leave again - but Paul encourages Leo to stay.
PAUL: Whatever it is you have to say, I'm listening.
LEO: I've got no-one else to go to. And I can't keep getting David into trouble, not that he could hate me anymore.
PAUL: You're brothers, you'll get past this.
LEO: You're my father. And that hasn't worked out well so far, has it?
PAUL: I'm here, aren't I?
LEO: ... I need your help. But, if there are any strings attached, I need to hear them now.
PAUL: Nope. No, no strings. All right - you leave it with me, okay?

Ben has turned up to see Yashvi.
YASHVI: If you're here to complain about what I did before...
BEN: Just never hit a guy there!
YASHVI: Alright, alright. But you shouldn't have teased me. Not that I did it on purpose.
BEN: This doesn't have anything to do with Evan, does it?
YASHVI: He didn't say anything about me, did he? I'm just asking because he added me on Facebook.
BEN: Oh, come on, you like him!
YASHVI: I've just never met anyone into BMXs before, that's all!
BEN: Well, he didn't say anything about you. Not that I hung around him much. I don't really know where I fit in now that he's doing my job.
YASHVI: I really am sorry about before.
BEN: You know, your dad's car is due for a service, if you wanna check it in with Evan?
YASHVI: Dad's car's fine.
BEN: Are you sure?
YASHVI: What is this? Are you trying to scam the garage more work?
BEN: I'm trying to scam you more time with Evan!
YASHVI: Oh! Well, if I did happen to be interested - not that I am - Dad's car doesn't need a service.
BEN: So convince him otherwise!
YASHVI: Why are you doing this? I nearly destroyed your chance to reproduce!
BEN: Well, you clearly need some help - and I've not really got much going on at the moment.
YASHVI: Got a Xanthe-shaped hole in your life?
BEN: Whatever! Just turn up at the garage, alright?
YASHVI: Okay!
Harold's Café
Mishti is with a woman (credited as Ali Parry) signing paperwork. Ali says that whatever it is Mishti is signing away is non-refundable, and Mishti assures her that won't be an issue. Aaron comes in just as Ali leaves; he admits he's been trying to get his head straight.
AARON: Mishti, I'm not ready to run a business again.
MISHTI: What?!
AARON: I think you should still make an offer, though, okay? You don't need me to make this work.
MISHTI: But we're partners! We had an agreement!
AARON: Yeah, I know, and I'm sorry - I am. But I just can't do it. I think that if you want to buy this business, it's best that you do it on your own.
Mishti looks worried.
Erinsborough Backpackers
In the dormitory, Mannix is still lying on one of the bunks, evidently in pain. Rain and lightning crackle outside, and a shadowy silhouette moves to open the door. It's Paul.
MANNIX: What's going on? Where's Leo?
PAUL: Oh, Leo's busy. Oh, my - you have been in the wars, haven't you?
He goes to touch Mannix's wound, and Mannix cries out in pain.
MANNIX: What do you care?!
PAUL: Well, I'd hate anything else to go wrong.
Mannix tries to get up, but Paul pushes him down again.
PAUL: No, no, no. You can't get very far, obviously - not with those injuries. So, I'm gonna see to it that you never, ever have a reason to return to Erinsborough.
Paul gives Mannix a sinister smile.
