No 30
Sonya tells Steph that they have a 48-hour window in which to try, so if they are ready, Mark should get a sample to her asap. Steph says she's ready and she's sure Mark is too.
Blaze
A pregnant teenager (Sara) is talking to Paige and Piper, who are telling her that they will give her all the support she needs. She's very grateful, and comments she didn't know if she'd be welcome, given the church's views.
PAIGE: Look, I know it seems a bit weird that a priest works here, but Jack's really awesome, and he'll definitely want you to come back.
Sara leaves and Lauren sits down, telling them that Brad had asked her to look in while he was in Sydney. She compliments them on how they coped with Sara, and Paige says she's worried that other people might not want to come because of the church connection. She wants to put out leaflets on family planning, gender, sexuality...
PAIGE: We could even hand out free protection.
PIPER: Yeah, yeah, good idea.
LAUREN: Shouldn't you run that past Jack first? I mean, those can be touchy issues for religious people.
PAIGE: Mum, he's fine. He's completely progressive.
LAUREN: Yeah, but darling, a liberal priest is still a priest.
Paige asks her if she wants to help out, but Lauren says she has to help Sheila, who is working on the wedding menu with Lou.
Harold's
Well, that was the theory. Lou thinks it's a debacle. Sheila sets him to work cutting "ribbons", while she's planning a food theme.
SHEILA: I'm caught between Mexican fiesta and Victorian high tea...
LOU: The wedding doesn't have a theme. Why should the food need one.
SHEILA: Because some people see catering as an art. We're not all happy gobbling party pies and footy franks. ... I said ribbons. Those are slices.
LOU: (to Lauren) This isn't a catering team. This is a fascist regime.
Lauren is unsympathetic, reminding Lou that he drove away her first caterer. Lou looks ominously at his kitchen knife.
Karl tells David not to work too hard. He says it's the only thing he doesn't make a mess of, adding that he did something really stupid earlier. Karl says it's probably not as bad as it seems.
Waterhole
Amy tells Aaron she thought David was completely out of line. Aaron says he understands why. Either David's a "homophobic meathead" (which he isn't) or he's... struggling. Amy asks if Aaron is going to talk to him, but Aaron says he's keeping his distance.
AARON: I'm not going to force a guy to come out before he's ready to.
He says he wants to drop the whole thing, and she should as well.
Harold's
Lauren and Lou are discussing his eagerness to get back into the dating game, while Sheila listens in.
LOU: I'm single. I'm ready to mingle.
Sheila asks how any woman could put up with him. She says her mum did. Sheila says that Kathy divorced him.
Meanwhile, Steph tells Victoria about Sonya's offer, and asks if she will oversee things, as a friend. Victoria says it would be unethical, and she could lose her job. However, she tells Steph she finds the plan very concerning.

Amy tells Leo she thinks that David has some issues he needs to deal with. Leo insists that David is the nicest person he knows. Amy says that the way he treated Aaron was out of line and maybe he just needs a push from someone supportive. She suggests he make sure that David knows he's there for him.
No 24 - bedroom
Steph asks Mark if he's really going ahead. He completely fails to notice how uncertain she is, and says that they are all on board, and the timing is right.
MARK: I get that this is a crazy situation, but we're making a baby.
STEPH: Well, technically you and Sonya are making a baby. I'm just a bystander.
MARK: Hey, this is about us, building OUR family.
She tells him that Victoria had reservations, and refused to help them with overseeing the process. He's not surprised, saying she can't do her job off the book. He adds that if she wants to wait, she should just say.
STEPH: Nah, forge ahead.
Tanaka Towers
Leo tells David what Amy said, and asks if he thought Aaron was hitting on him. David confirms it, and Leo asks if it wasn't flattering, because Aaron is a nice guy. David says it doesn't mean he wants him cracking onto him.
LEO: But if you were interested...
DAVID: Except I'm not.
LEO: OK, sorry. I just meant that as long as you're happy, I'm happy. No matter what. I hope you know that.
DAVID: I do.
David tells him not to read anything into what happened, and says he'll apologise to Aaron.
Blaze
Paige is putting up posters ("Planning for an unexpected familiy" and others), when Jack arrives. He says that Simone is getting the help she needs, then he sees the posters and leaflets. He asks if it's an initiative of Brad's, and she says it's her idea. She tells him about Sara...
PAIGE: It was nice to be able to help someone.
JACK: I'm not sure I'm comfortable about all this.
PAIGE: You're kidding right?
JACK: You know the church's stance on this issue. We believe all life is sacred.
PAIGE: And what about the life of a young woman whose world has been completely turned upside down because of an unwanted pregnancy?
JACK: And we have community programmes to help women and children in this situation.
PAIGE: I thought that you were progressive.
JACK: I'm still a representative of the church. And while Brad's away, I'm in charge. And I cannot be associated with this material.
PAIGE: Well, it's staying.
JACK: Where does that leave US?
I wonder what relevance that has to his views as a representative of the church. Then I realise I've spent too long thinking about Jack and Paige.
Harold's
Sheila leaves, telling Lou not to harrass too many women. He's on Tinder. He tells Karl it's exhausting.
KARL: Ooh. Too many options?
LOU: No, just the opposite, mate. Too many duds. I'm getting arthritis from swiping left.
LAUREN: Perhaps you should have set your age bracket so low.
LOU: There's hardly anyone my age on the damn thing. As for the young ones, well, we've got nothing to talk about.
LAUREN: Maybe the real world is more your speed after all.
KARL: You know, you and Sheila have a lot of fun giving each other hell. A romance with her would never be dull.
LOU: I'd sooner die alone.
Karl says it doesn't have to be Sheila - maybe someone like her. Lou looks thoughtful, then says there is someone in his past like that - someone he's been thinking about lately. Lauren and Karl tell him it's never too late to try and fix things. He says they're right and leaves, saying he's going to get in touch. Lauren tells Karl he means Kathy.
No 30
Mark has brought round a box of his "sample". He asks if Sonya is going to "do it straightaway", and she says she doesn't want to miss the window. Mark says he hopes it works, and Sonya tells him not to get his hopes up.
SONYA: It could be a very long process.
TOADIE: Which means we could have months of awkward conversations.
Mark leaves and Sonya and Toadie look at each other awkwardly. She says she thinks it will get better over time.
SONYA: Well, I might go and...
TOADIE: Do you want me to come with you and...give you a hand or...
She says it's OK, and to give her an hour or so. Toadie takes Nell outside, and the picture blurs as she watches them go.
The rotunda
It's raining to match Steph's mood. While "Sweat" plays, she gets a text from Mark: "Just saw Sonya, It's really happening... so exciting! xx" This upsets her more.
No 32
Paige is ranting on about Jack.
PAIGE: He doesn't think the Church should evolve at all.
Lauren says it's complex, but Piper agrees with Paige.
PIPER: Why should a group of old men in Rome get to decide what's appropriate for the rest of the world?
LOU: Even so, you can't blame the Church entirely, you know. They may not be perfect but they do a lot of good.
PAIGE: Yeah, I know they do amazing work: I just don't agree with their policies.
Lauren asks Paige if she's sure she's not trying to make a point to Jack. Paige says no, and she's not backing down. Lou gets a text, and says it's the woman from his past "who got away". He's going out to meet her - but it's not Kathy! He refuses to say who, in cases it jinxes it.
LOU: She's willing to meet up, so maybe there's a chance after all.
Paige tells Lauren that Kathy and Lou are perfect for each other. Lauren admits that she had got her hopes up. Piper wonders who he's meeting. Lauren says don't ask.
No 24 drive
David comes to apologise to Aaron. He says what he said was rude and offensive. Aaron says they should forget it happened. David says he was upset about what his great-grandmother said, not that is any excuse. Aaron says that he said sorry, so he should forget it. David insists he wants everything to be OK between them.
AARON: We're good. Truly.
DAVID: Thanks. You're very kind.
David looks at him, and they have a Moment™.
AARON: Why are you here David.
David says he has to go, and he rushes off.
The Handywoman
Leo thanks Amy for her advice about David. He wondered if David was struggling for a while, but didn't know what to do about it before. She asks him how David reacted, and Leo says David shut down the conversation, but at least he knows Leo is there for him. He's about to leave when Amy asks him if he'd like to go for a drink. He asks if it's a date, and she says she'll see how they go, but no opera and definitely no ball gown. He tells her she looks incredible as she is.
No 30
Victoria arrives, apologising that it's late. She tells Toadie that she wanted to follow up with Steph, after refusing to advise on the surrogacy plan.
VICTORIA: Look Toadie, in my informed opinion, it would be a disaster waiting to happen. And I wanted to come here to explain why.
Toadie says Steph is not in, but he'd like to know. Victoria says she's seen things go horribly wrong, even when people have the best intentions.
VICTORIA: Quite often, the surrogate mum, she becomes attached to the baby she's carrying. It's not her fault. It's nobody's fault. It's biological.
She says she's seen too many people hurt, too many relationships ruined...
Sonya walks in.
SONYA: It's done.
Nell rushes up to her, and Sonya asks Toadie and Victoria what's going on.
