Leo & David's Flat
Paul tells Leo that Maxine is Jacka Hill's mother. Leo, explains for all us viewers that Brad is paying off the mother of the guy who killed his own son and father. Paul suggests Maxine has something over Brad but he wants Leo to do some more digging and will pay him double his usual fee.

Number 26
Xanthe tells her mum that she doesn't know why Ben said all that horrible stuff about her. Brooke says that Ben doesn't really know Xanthe at all. Xanthe thinks Ben's 'the one', so he has to understand her. Brooke tells Xanthe she'll never have her 'happily ever after' based on some fantasy romance. Brooke doesn't think men can really love them the way they need, that is why family is so important.

Gary and Sheila arrive to announce that the Family Feud cheque has cleared. Sheila says it is good timing as her nitwit grandson Harley has injured his wrist going around Frankston on his postie bike. Sheila's going to look after him as Jackie is away on a Camel Safari with a tour operator she met at some pub and won't be back for a week. Gary gives Brooke a present. She opens the present which is a not so nice looking purse, Xanthe tries to hide her laughter, while Brooke smiles and thanks Gary. Xanthe checks with Brooke that she can afford the ring she gave her, as now she has the Family Feud money she can pay for it. Brooke says it was a gift. Xanthe loves that Brooke is here and they hug.

Harold's
Angus is singing to himself when Ben joins him. Angus asks for his advice on lyrics, but Ben doesn't want to help with love songs just now. He doesn't know why Brooke is denying what he saw, and why Xanthe took her mum's side.

Lauren brings Piper a coffee, pleased that her cast is off just as things are ramping up for the wedding. Piper asks if Lou is having second thoughts about Lauren's mum. Lauren couldn't imagine them getting back together and she doesn't know how she'll feel about it. Lauren goes back to work.

Tyler enters wearing a suit, and tells Piper he's going to the meeting with Tim. Tyler's already lost his share of the house to pay for the car and he's sure Tim will press charges. After everything with Dimato, Tyler can't see how he can avoid jail time.

Lassiter's Complex
Jimmy beats Paul at chess. Amy and Jimmy head off, saying hi to Leo as he arrives. Leo watches Amy as she leaves, until Paul tells him to stop eyeballing her and tell him what he found out about Maxine. Leo says that her house burned down on the same day as the balloon accident and she's been living in a council flat ever since. The rent money is the exact same amount that Brad has been paying her. Paul wonders why, but Leo tells him Paul will need to get the rest of the story without him.

Number 26
The Cannings, Amy and Jimmy are preparing dinner. Gary is making Brooke her favourite dinner, Brooke calls Gary 'mon chéri,' to which Xanthe looks suspicious. Gary tells Brooke he wants to put his winnings in a term deposit, but Brooke tries to talk him out of it, suggesting that she put him in touch with a stockbroker she knows. She asks Gary to give him some thought.

The Waterhole
Elly tells Leo about Angus being completely out of it when she took him home. She tells Leo that his crush is totally under control and changes the subject to his dreams of world domination. He's going to let his enemies fight it out and then he'll be the last one standing. Elly thinks it's funny that he has this double agent thing sorted but he can't even win a $5 bet. Leo says the heat is still there with Amy and everything is going according to plan.

Meanwhile Tim is on the phone to someone, asking them to finish it and is angry when the person says they can't. Tyler arrives and Tim ends his phone call. Tyler hands him the money for the repairs. Tim says that if he chose to pursue charges then Tyler will end up in jail, which would do a lot of damage to his business and his brother's reputation. Tim says he needs Tyler to do a job for him tonight. If he does it, he won't press charges.

Harold's
Paul asks Brad how the wedding planning is going, and wonders if Ned is coming back for the big day. He questions Brad on why Ned left so suddenly and why he isn't back now that Jacka is in jail. Brad is sure Ned will come back when he's ready. As Paul leaves, Brad makes a phone call to presumably Terese to say that Paul is asking questions about Ned.

Tyler arrives and joins Piper, telling him about Tim's offer. Tyler said no to Tim, but this will mean he probably goes to jail. He's done the crime, now he'll have to do the time.

Number 26
Brooke gets Gary a gift, a gold watch. Brooke claims that they pay their bonuses like this, it reduces tax, and Gary deserves nice things. Gary thanks Brooke. Xanthe listens to Brooke flirting with Gary and rolls her eyes.

Men's Shed Exterior
Angus wonders why he and Piper are spying on the Men's Shed, as Piper has set up her camera to record the entrance. She tells Angus about the job Tim wanted Tyler to do, something dodgy. She thinks that the job will go ahead without Tyler, and if she can get something illegal on camera then she might be able to implicate Tim and force him not to press charges. Angus thinks that is a lot of effort considering Tyler completely rejected her.

PIPER: You do realise Elly rejected you, alright, so at least I can take a hint.

Piper still cares about Tyler and doesn't want to see him go to jail. They leave the camera running and then leave.

The Waterhole
Terese and Piper sit down to dinner as Terese talks about the sale of the Men's Shed. She, Paul and Tim are all interested in buying it. Piper wonders what would happen if one of the other parties played dirty. They know what Paul is like, but Piper asks if Tim is the sort to play dirty. Terese bluntly asks Piper what this is about, Piper says nothing and claims she's doing a vlog about corruption. Piper goes to the bathroom. Paul sneaks up on Terese, concluding that she's dining alone.

TERESE: Oh I know that look. It's like you've framed the cat for murdering the pigeons.

Paul tells Terese he was going through staff records of Brad's previous school and not one was called Maxine Cowper. Paul tells Terese he knows Maxine is Jacka's mother, he knows about her house burning down and he knows Brad is forking out her rent. Terese asks what he wants. Paul says she should pull out of the Men's Shed tender. Terese agrees and Paul triumphantly leaves.

Men's Shed Exterior
Angus and Piper look at the footage from Piper's camera, wondering what Tim is doing. Piper thinks it looks like Tim is putting on a pesticide or contaminant on the soil. She says this will make the Men's Shed less appealing to the other parties and drive down the price. She's going to blackmail Tim.

Elsewhere
On a bench, Xanthe tells Elly that she was hoping that her mum and dad would get back together but now she's not sure. Xanthe says that her mum called her dad 'mon chéri' and she only says that to people she wants something from. She bought him a really nice watch, but she knows that her mum gave fake watches to guys she used to scam. Elly says it's easy to tell if a luxury watch is real or fake. With a real watch the second hand makes a sweeping motion and it's silent, whereas fake ones tick and it's more of a jerk. Elly tells Xanthe if she wants to know she should look at the watch.

Number 32
Terese comes in for a coffee with Brad, she hasn't slept a wink as this Maxine thing has gotten so messy. She wishes she wasn't involved.

TERESE: You should have told Lauren. We've had enough secrets between the three of us.
BRAD: Yeah I know but she would have told me to go to the police.
TERESE: So obviously you think I have much less moral fibre.

Brad apologises. Terese thinks they need to find Ned so they can sort this out. Brad has a few leads on where Ned is. Terese wants Brad to follow it up as Paul is already suspicious and he's prevented her from tendering the Men's Shed. Brad will ask Susan to get a few days off from work and will get Jack to take over Blaze for a few days. Terese tells him to leave now before things get out of control.

Harold's
Piper sits down with Tim, telling him she left a camera outside last night and got some interesting footage from the Men's Shed. She shows him a picture she took of him contaminating the soil. She says she won't make an official accusation provided he meet a couple of conditions. He needs to pull out of the tender of the Men's Shed and she wants him to drop all charges against Tyler. She shows him the USB she has and tells him to meet the conditions and clean up the soil otherwise she'll show the footage to the police.

Lassiter's Complex
As Piper leaves Harold's, Brad tells Lauren about his plan to find Ned. She doesn't seem happy about it, but Brad explains that Ned is his surviving son and this is something he has to do. They kiss goodbye.

Meanwhile Piper tells Angus how it went with Tim. Tyler arrives and tells them that Tim has called and he's not going to press charges. Tyler wants to celebrate his freedom and invites Piper to come, but she and Angus have to study for their exams. As Tyler leaves, Angus wonders why she didn't tell Tyler she saved his butt, that way he'd know how good a girlfriend she'd be. Piper says she didn't just do it for Tyler, she also made Tim pull out of the Men's Shed tender, so really it was a win for the whole community! Angus says they both know why she really did it.

Number 26
Gary and Brooke are doing the dishes, Brooke is flirting with Gary again. Xanthe meanwhile takes out Gary's gold watch and listens to it tick. She leaps out of her seat and shouts out that it's a fake! Brooke claims they've cheated her and they must have given out fake bonuses. She apologises to Gary, but he says it isn't important. Brooke says she's embarrassed and she's been ripped off. She goes to call the company.

The Waterhole
Paul tells Leo that Terese and Tim have both pulled out of the tender. Paul says he who wants it most, wins. As Paul leaves, Leo opens his laptop and carries on writing his Tender Proposal, grinning to himself.

Park
Xanthe tells Elly that Brooke seemed genuinely upset, but she is able to put on the waterworks pretty well. Elly knows Xanthe wants her mum to have changed, but she can't ignore the signs. Xanthe thinks Brooke might genuinely like her dad. Elly suggests that Xanthe tells her dad how she feels and Elly will go with her if she wants. Xanthe thanks Elly, saying she's glad that her mum and dad aren't together as Gary wouldn't believe her if they were.

Number 26
Brooke apologises to Gary for giving him this cheap and nasty gift. She feels dumb, but Gary tells her not to think like that. It's a nice watch even if it is a fake, it was so thoughtful of her. Brooke calls him an amazing guy and she's missed him. They start kissing.
