Balloon site, Paterson Hills
Lauren, Piper, Paige and Elly arrive at the site. Lauren is glad she stopped drinking champagne when she did, unlike Elly. Elly says she'll be fine once she's up there. Paige is cold so Piper gives Paige her scarf. Lauren thanks Piper for dreaming this up, she's never going to forget it. As the girls hug we get dramatic close ups of the gas canister. Meanwhile Jacka hides behind a tree grinning menacingly.

(Cue Titles)

Later Lauren ends her call to Brad. She says that there's still no sign of Jacka. Mike the balloon operator collects the consent forms and asks if the girls are ready. They cheer until Elly shush's them. Mike's called head office to see if there are any names for the waiting list to take Steph's spot on the ride. They'll wait to see if anyone arrives to take her place in the next half hour. Elly can't believe Steph couldn't make it, when they all could even after what she went through with Ned and what Paige went through with Father Jack.

Number 30
Steph answers the door to Regan who is desperate to find Ned. She wants to warn him how much danger he's in with Jacka. She says someone burnt down Jacka's mum's house last night. She says Jacka has always hated his mum and when he's backed into a corner he gets violent and lashes out. Jacka is convinced that she is back with Ned. Regan thinks Elly should speak to Jacka to convince him she is in love with Ned and get Jacka to calm down. Steph tells Regan where Elly is and that she's ready to get into a hot air balloon. Regan rushes off before Steph can stop her.

Number 26
Jimmy is telling Paul about the drone he is planning to fly.

PAUL: Alright keep your voice down mate, otherwise you'll wake Sheila and she could wander out here in whatever it is she sleeps in.
JIMMY: A onesie.
PAUL: Urgh.

Jimmy says his mum doesn't want him filming over people's yards. Paul says they're just going to be filming the balloon landing. Jack arrives looking for Amy, but she's had an early meeting in the city. They tell Jack about the drone and he's keen to stay and see how it works.

Number 30 / Balloon site, Paterson Hills
Mark arrives and tells Steph that Regan was right about the house fire, the occupant was Maxine Cowper, Jacka's mum. The arson squad is investigating. Steph is worried about Jacka still being out there. Mark says that unless Jacka grows wings he won't be able to go near the girls for a couple of hours. Meanwhile we get more shots of Jacka grinning from behind a tree while looking at the hot air balloon. Mark tells Steph that this is a police matter so she should stay out of it. They kiss.

Balloon Site, Paterson Hills
Regan arrives and quickly puts her hood up. Meanwhile Paige and Lauren join Piper and Elly inside the balloon. Mike assumes Regan's the extra passenger and gets her to climb into the balloon. Lauren introduces herself, Regan doesn't give her name but tells them to call her 'nervous flyer.' Regan hides from Elly whose head is down as she nurses her hangover. The girls are excited as the balloon takes off.

Harold's
Brad tells Ben and Karl that the girls will be up in the air by now, and they follow their journey on the tracker app on his phone. Karl says he is feeling a bit bleary today.

Hot Air Balloon
Paige asks 'nervous flyer' how she is, who just gives a thumbs up but looks at Elly whose eyes are closed as she rests her head.

Harold's
Mark tells Brad that Steph got a visit from Regan who is worried about Jacka. Brad says at least Jacka can't get at the girls while they are in the sky.

Balloon Site, Paterson Hills
Jacka looks up at the hot air balloon, giving another evil grin.

Hot Air Balloon
Lauren and Paige are amazed at how tiny everything looks from up there. Elly stands up and tells everyone she is alive and then takes a selfie with them all. Lauren tells Regan to join them, so Regan takes her hood off. Elly recognises Regan and Lauren realises she's Jacka's wife and Ned's ex. Regan says she needs to speak to Elly. Before the conversation can continue the burner goes out.

Mike tells everyone not to worry, he'll just change the fuel cylinders but this is totally normal. Regan tells Elly she wants her to convince Jacka that she is not with Ned. She suggests they set a trap but Elly refuses to go near Jacka. Having changed the cylinder, Mike says the fuel is not feeding through. He tries the backup cylinder.

Number 26
We see a shot of Jimmy's drone taking off, while Jimmy, Paul and Jack look at the camera footage on Jimmy's laptop. The balloon should come into view in five minutes.

Hot Air Balloon
As Mike tries the backup cylinder, Lauren tries to reassure the girls not to worry about it. Paige can't stop thinking about Jack. She has to apologise to him again. Lauren tells Paige to practise now as it will take their mind off things. As Paige begins, Piper takes her phone out and records the message to send to Jack.

PAIGE: Okay, Jack, I thought I was wearing the nun costume because I was mad at religion but really I was just mad at myself. Six months ago I met you and on that very same day my whole life got turned upside down. You saved my life but I lost my brother. I lost my grandfather. And the only way I could cope with that was helping you and I fell in love with you. And I convinced myself that you could love me back, but I couldn't and I had no one to blame but myself. Not you, not the church, but me and I'm so sorry.

Mike tries the burner again but it doesn't work, he guesses the canister must be damaged. The girls start to panic about the balloon crashing. Piper sends the message to Jack.

Number 26
Jimmy can't see the balloon on the camera but says it should be there.

Harold's
Ben says it looks like the balloon has gone off course.

Hot Air Balloon
Mike says something is stopping the fuel from coming through and they won't make it to the landing site. They throw away the fuel cylinders so they can lose some weight and control their descent. Mike tells them to assume the brace position on the floor. Paige suggests they jump but they talk her out of it.

As Jimmy tries to find the balloon, Jack gets a message on his phone. He listens to Paige's message.

As the girls panic, Paige stands up and looks out as the balloon heads over water. Paige jumps out of the balloon.

Number 26
Jack listens to Paige's message including the girls panicking about the balloon going down. Jack grabs the keys to Amy's ute and runs out.

Hot Air Balloon
Mike tells the passengers to brace for impact as the balloon crashes into some trees. Next a rope snaps and the basket falls.

Harold's
Brad gets a call from Jack and tells the guys that the balloon has crashed. Ben suggests they use the tracker app to find where the girls are.

Paul reassures Jimmy that a bunch of people will be running to help. Jimmy is worried if they're too late. Jimmy no longer sees an image on his laptop, just a black screen. The drone isn't responding. He heads onto the doorstep and looks into the sky for it. Paul tells Jimmy not to panic, he'll have a look for it.

Crash Site
The balloon has been torn to shreds from the crash, as Piper and Elly lie unconscious on the ground. Brad, Ben, Karl and Mark arrive. Karl tells them to check for breathing and pulses but not to move anyone while they wait for the ambulances to arrive. Brad checks on Piper who says she's fine. Brad races to Lauren who is lying unconscious against a tree. She starts to moan quietly as Brad calls on Karl to help.

Number 30
Jacka sneaks up on Steph and asks where Ned is. He accuses Ned of stealing his woman and assumes Regan has been with him. Steph tells Jacka that Ned loves Elly, not Regan. She tells Jacka to turn himself in. He smiles and says she's always been a good friend to him.

JACKA: Smart move giving the balloon ride a miss.

Jacka races out as Steph calls after him to wait. Steph starts to make a call as she grabs her bike helmet.

Ramsay Street
Steph rides out of Ramsay Street on her bike.

Unknown Locations
Paul is wandering around looking for Jimmy's drone, while we get another shot of Steph racing along the road on her bike.

Crash Site
Mark tells a crying Elly to take deep breaths. Karl checks on Lauren whose leg is in pain. Karl thinks it could be broken bones. Ben calls Karl over, they pass Mike who is sitting upright and says he's okay.

Jack arrives, checking on Piper, before asking where Paige is. Piper tells him she jumped out and points in the direction the balloon came from. Piper tells him she was wearing a red scarf as Jack races off in that direction. Karl asks Regan some questions, she's in pain from her head wound and is unable to tell Karl the day or the year. She starts to have a seizure. Karl thinks blood is swelling up on the outside of her brain, she hasn't got much time and she needs surgical drainage. He asks Ben to go to Amy's ute and get a first aid kit, plastic tubing and a power drill.

Power Street
Steph races along the street and starts skidding.

Forest
Jack screams out for Paige, passing one of the gas canisters.

Power Street
Some people race to help Steph who is lying unconscious on the ground. We see Jimmy's drone lying on the ground across the road from her.

Beach
Jack leaves the forest and finds Paige's scarf having been washed up on the beach. He calls out for Paige again.
