In the garden, Paige is having a workout with the punching bag. Having worked up a sweat, she decides to head for a swim in the pool - topless! But as she's about to jump in, Jack arrives, and is startled to see her without a top on, facing away from him. She leaps into the pool (in slow motion). Jack looks uncomfortable, before walking towards her.

Paige, now neck-deep in the water, is surprised to see him, but makes no attempt to cover herself. Jack's brought some kind of tool around for Brad.

PAIGE: They're all in bed. It's just us.

Deeply uncomfortable, Jack leaves the tool in the garden and prepares to leave.

PAIGE (seductive): Wait. Why don't you... jump in with me?
JACK: ... I've gotta go play with Tyler.
PAIGE: ...?!
JACK: Ping-pong! Table tennis - I've got to play table tennis with Tyler. I promised him a game.
PAIGE (seductive): Oh well. Suit yourself. I'll see you later.

Jack awkwardly turns to leave, tripping over some garden furniture as he goes!

The titles roll.

In the conservatory, Brad is stressing about Piper, the newspaper article, and finding a new place for his Blaze Outreach programme. Lauren says the first two will blow over, but that Brad should pursue Sonya about Blaze - it's her job as mayor to find another venue for it. Brad decides to have a barbecue in order to schmooze Sonya. Lauren thinks an approach through council would be better.

Brad decides to make the barbecue a more inclusive affair, and invite others round too - deciding it will be a celebration of the christening of the bar-in-the-shed that Doug started building before he died. Lauren agrees. They smooch.

Aaron has Sonya cornered, and pesters her about online PR opportunities for Sonya's Nursery. He's keen for them to get an article on the West Waratah Star's website - but surprisingly, the Star isn't interested in running a story about a garden centre. Toadie comes in; things are still tense between him and Sonya, who tells him to remove his duvet from the couch where he slept last night.

Brad arrives, and invites them to the official opening of Doug's bar. Sonya says she's too bogged down with Nursery work, but Aaron says he'll cover it, and encourages Sonya to go to the barbie with Toadie. Brad says he'll look forward to seeing them this afternoon, but neither of the Rebecchis looks pleased about it.

Harold's Café
Sonya comes in, and Mark is keen to talk to her. He asks if he and Steph are making things weird for the Rebecchis with their constant couply behaviour. Sonya quickly realises that Steph has told Mark about her row with Toadie, but passes it off as something all healthy couples do. Mark says it's obvious that things have been tense between Sonya and Toadie for a while.

Sonya admits she isn't relishing the prospect of more time with the marriage guidance counsellor, even though she knows it's the responsible thing to do.

SONYA: It just feels like another obligation, and that's what my life feels like right now. It's like, I'm Sonya the mayor, Sonya the nursery owner, the mother, the wife.... I mean, where is Sonya the person, Mark? Where is she?
MARK: She's in there, somewhere.
SONYA: Well, I mean, I don't know where she is. I don't feel like I've got any time to myself. I don't even have ten minutes to sit on the couch and have a tea and a biccie!
MARK: Why don't you explain it like that to Toadie?
SONYA: He doesn't give me the chance! Maybe it's me - maybe he doesn't find me attractive anymore.
MARK: Oh, Sonya! Sonya, I promise you that's not it.
SONYA: Well, you see, I hear the way things are between you and Steph in that department, it just makes me feel very inadequate.
MARK: Meanwhile, I look at you guys, and - you're the best couple I know.

But Sonya still doesn't know how to fix things with Toadie.

Robinson's Motel
Toadie finds Steph folding towels in the storeroom. Toadie admits he was 'a bit of a tool last night'.

TOADIE: Still mates?
STEPH: Well if we stopped being mates every time you were a tool, we wouldn't have gotten very far, now, would we?

Toadie admits he's struggling to accept how Sonya went behind his back to get Nell tested as a potential bone marrow donor. Steph points out that Sonya was in a tough situation, and now Toadie needs to forgive her.

TOADIE: It's not that easy.
STEPH: Yeah, it is! Toad - get home and be a husband to your wife.

Steph slaps Toadie on the bum as he leaves!

Tyler and Jack are setting up the table tennis set on Mark's new dining room table! Tyler asks for Jack's advice on girls, and how to control himself - since Jack obviously has a lot of experience in that.

TYLER: There's this girl I want to be with, and she wants to be with me. But we haven't got her parents' approval, so I don't wanna cross any lines. Easier said than done.
JACK: I could only imagine.
TYLER: So how do you stop yourself from doing something you might regret?
JACK: You just don't cross that line.
TYLER: That's it? As simple as that?
JACK: I didn't say it was simple. Look, it's all about knowing yourself. You know, what's right for you. And respecting yourself enough not to do anything that'll contradict that.
TYLER: Yeah, I think I get that.
JACK: Like, of course I'm still attracted to girls. But I know that I wouldn't feel right betraying who I am just because I want to be with Paige.
TYLER: ...
JACK: I mean, girls!

Tyler admits he and Paige used to be close, but says it's old news. He suggests Jack could 'switch religions' to get round the celibacy problem.

TYLER: They're all the same god, right? Could you change to one that's, say, more flexible - or is it like footie teams?
JACK: Religion isn't a choice, as much as a fundamental part of who I am.
TYLER: So it is like footie teams!
JACK: There's nothing in the world more important to me. So for me to break my vow before I was certain I was gonna leave the priesthood - that's unthinkable. However, not being around Paige is also unthinkable.

Tyler suggests that Jack should tell Paige that.

Shortly afterwards, Tyler and Jack are playing ping-pong, when Brad arrives to borrow a gas bottle. While he's there, Tyler thanks Brad for 'being open-minded' about him and Piper. Brad says he appreciates Tyler trying to do the right thing. Tyler says he just wants to be upfront, and goes to get the gas bottle. Brad invites Tyler to the barbecue too, but he says he has to go to work.

Brad invites Jack to the barbecue too, and mentions that he's hoping to use it to talk Sonya into letting him use Off Air for Blaze Outreach. Jack reveals that he was actually running a similar outreach programme in Queensland...

Brad relays this new knowledge about Jack to Lauren - saying that if he could get Jack on board with Blaze, it would help his application for a new venue. Lauren has reservations, saying Brad shouldn't make too much of the 'priest stuff' - since she doubts Jack will be one for much longer, because of Paige!

Brad admits he's invited Jack over to discuss the outreach programme today. Lauren suggests he run that by Paige first. Paige comes in, and Brad explains the situation; she's thrilled that Jack's coming round.

PAIGE: I might even send him a little reminder - tell him that I'm gonna be here!

Paige skips out of the room, elated.

Sonya is working distractedly. Toadie comes in, and she immediately apologises for not respecting his privacy. Toadie, meanwhile, apologises for blanking Sonya; he says he was upset about what happened with Nell, but now he wants to make it up to her.

SONYA: How?
TOADIE: You know how.
SONYA: Really?
TOADIE: Yeah. The way that I see it is that, if we are to get past this, we're gonna have to try *really hard*.
SONYA: Jarrod!!
TOADIE: Every day.
SONYA: Every day?
TOADIE: Until we are back on. Are you in?
SONYA: I am in.

They start kissing, and prepare to head into the bedroom to TITTNL™. But then they remember they have to go to Brad's barbecue! Neither seem thrilled at the prospect so they disappear into the bedroom anyway!

Brad is firing up the barbie when Susan and Karl arrive. They're thrilled with how Doug's shed bar looks, saying he'd love it if he were here. Karl asks for somewhere to stash the expensive beers he's brought, where nobody else will be able to get at them! Brad directs him to the fridge, and also asks Karl when the lease on Off Air finishes. Karl says there's two months left, but he's getting out early.

Toadie and Sonya arrive, apologising for being late - they had 'very important work' to do! Brad quickly corners Sonya and tells her about the Off Air lease coming up, then suggests that he could use the building (which is still council-owned) for Blaze Outreach. Sonya tells him she can't promise, but if he puts a pitch together, she'll see if she can find any money in the budget.

Lauren appears holding a new sign for the shed, and Brad does a little speech before unveiling it.

BRAD: Thank you all so much for coming today. One of Dad's biggest loves was having a few coldies with good friends. So I'm sure he'd be stoked that you're all here enjoying the fruit of his hard labour. And it only seems fitting that we name Ramsay Street's newest hangout in his honour. So ladies and gentlemen - I give you... The Doug-Out!

Brad hangs up the sign that Lauren's made, and everyone cheers.

Indoors, Paige is preparing some food, when Jack arrives. She's about to welcome him with a hug, but Jack is standoffish - and says he isn't sticking around. He also wants to explain why he acted weird around topless Paige this morning.

JACK: As you know, when I joined the priesthood I made a vow, and I'm bound to keep that until I make a decision about us.
PAIGE: I know.
JACK: But the reason why I was weird is that any time I'm around you, when I see you... I'm so attracted to you, that I just lose myself.
PAIGE: I know what that feels like.

She goes to touch him again.

JACK: No, please don't make this any harder.
PAIGE: What, touch you?
JACK: No.
PAIGE: Are you serious?
JACK: Yes, Paige. I want you so much, I can't trust myself when I'm near you. So until I figure out what I want, that's how it's got to be.
PAIGE: Is this a joke?
JACK: No.
PAIGE: Don't you want to touch me?
JACK: What I want is to be able to make a decision with a clear mind. Sorry.

Jack leaves, asking Paige to apologise to Brad for him.

Lassiter's Lake
Jack is walking with Father Vincent. He admits he's been having 'inappropriate thoughts about a girl', especially when he's around her. Jack says he doesn't know how to cope.

In the kitchen, Paige is talking to Aaron about Jack.

AARON: I'm not sure seducing a priest is your best plan of attack!
PAIGE: I don't care. It'll be worth it, because we both love each other. And we both want this. And I think it's actually crazy for us not to be together.

Lassiter's Lake
Jack and Father Vincent are still talking.

FATHER VINCENT: Can you resist this temptation?
JACK: I honestly don't know if I can. I'm at breaking point.

Paige is still talking to Aaron.

PAIGE: I'm gonna be with him. I'm gonna do it.
AARON: Wow!
PAIGE: Don't try and talk me out of it, Aaron.

Aaron has no intention of so doing, pointing out that Jack isn't officially a priest at the moment.

PAIGE: Exactly.
AARON: So maybe he's open to, you know, exploring things a little more. Even if he eventually goes back.
PAIGE: When I'm done with him, he's never going back.

Steph comes to see Mark. They each tell the other they've spoken to Toadie and Sonya respectively, and think they will be okay. But Mark has something to talk to Steph about too.

MARK: Now I know that you and Sonya are friends. And obviously you are completely free to spend time with whoever you like...
STEPH: Obviously.
MARK: Yeah. But I was just hoping that you could be a little more discreet about our physical stuff. Sonya mentioned that you guys spoke about it.
STEPH: You prepared this little speech, didn't you?
MARK: No!
STEPH: Got it all organised in your head?
MARK: Yeah, okay, fine - maybe I thought about it.

Steph laughs and hugs him.

STEPH: You're so cute!
MARK: Hang on. Can we just clear this up, please?
STEPH: Okay. Okay. Alright, how does this sound? I will continue to talk to my girl-friends about my love-life, because that's what girl-friends do - and that includes Sonya, right?
MARK: Right.
STEPH: But I promise I will keep it vague.
MARK: Vague is good. Thank you.

They kiss - until Mark notices a ping-pong ball out of place on the sideboard!

Brad, Lauren, Susan and Karl are still hanging out at the barbecue - Sonya and Toadie having already apparently made their excuses to leave! Everyone teases Karl about his expensive beers, asking if they can have some. Karl tries to fob them off with a Bendigo IPA instead, much to everyone's amusement.

Just as Brad is wondering where Jack has got to, Paige emerges from the house, in a bright red dress with matching lipstick! She says Jack's decided not to stay for the barbie, but that she's going to convince him to change his mind. She borrows Brad's car keys and heads off to do just that.

LAUREN: Does that not worry you?
BRAD: What?
LAUREN: Paige's outfit?
BRAD: It'd take a brave man to tell Paige what to wear.
LAUREN: True. But you know that's all about Jack, right?

Lauren says she doesn't want Paige to get her heart broken again, but Brad says she'll be fine.

Ramsay Street
Paige, still all in red, is walking to the car, when Father Vincent appears.

FATHER VINCENT: Are you Paige?
PAIGE: Can I help you?
FATHER VINCENT: I doubt it.
PAIGE: Okay!
FATHER VINCENT: I know who you are. And I know what you're trying to do.
PAIGE: Ah. You're that man that was with Jack the other day.
FATHER VINCENT: Father Guidotti. He's staying with me.
PAIGE: Is he here now?
FATHER VINCENT: You won't be seeing him.
PAIGE: Have you spoken to him?
FATHER VINCENT: He came to me for counselling to help him keep his vows. And he will keep them. Because he's a good man. And good men aren't interested in girls like you.

Father Vincent walks off, leaving Paige looking upset.
