Number 30
Toadie is adamant that Nell won't be tested to see if she's a match and isn't impressed at Walter trying to say the procedure isn't that invasive and accuses him of having a prior agenda for coming to Erinsborough. Sonya tries to diffuse the situation but its Zoe's presence that finally makes them stop - she's realistic enough to realise what has happened.
Cue titles!
Number 28
Karl thinks that it's Angus who has arrived home but its Ben and tells him that Angus has cleared out his room. He thinks the lad may have left in a taxi but Ben comments he didn't have enough money for a bus fare. Ben then checks his guitar case and realises that Angus has stolen the busking money.
Ramsay Street
As they warm up before going out for a run, Paige tries to reassure John that it wasn't him that caused the explosion, Wendy provided him with an alibi. She thinks going for a run will help take his mind off things and they set off on their run.
Ben tells Xanthe/Aaron about Angus doing a runner and with their money. The teens agree to help Karl/Susan search for the lad and Aaron warns them they need to find him quickly!
Number 30
"It's been a big day, a lot to take in," Sonya comments to her dad after entering the house leaving Zoe/Nell playing outside. Walter apologises if he made anyone feel uncomfortable but lays it on the line that Nell is the last hope and much to his annoyance, Sonya asks for time to let them think as a lot of bombshells have landed on them lately. "We're both just looking out for our daughters," Sonya remarks after Walter gets emotional realising the things that he won't be able to do with Zoe.
Number 28
Ben/Xanthe try and work out where Angus might have gone to/how he left Erinsborough when it comes to Ben that he could be hiding out in Off Air.
Number 30
Walter is telling Sonya about the tests they'd do to Nell to see if she's a match and how they'd recover the bone marrow but Sonya thinks he's sugar coating it. Eventually admits that because of Nell's size, the easy harvesting process that Sonya could have had is difficult so Nell would require a general anaesthetic and taking it from her hip although does reassure her that they'd not to anything to harm her!
WALTER: The bottom line is, what would you do for your daughter?
SONYA: Anything.
Harold's café
Steph runs into Paige (and John) in the café after they've finished their run to see if Lauren is about but is told she's having lunch with Brad. She then asks how Lauren is doing since Ned left and is told fine. Paige asks if she's been to see Paul in hospital yet (no) and wonders how anyone could have done that to him. Steph comments that it wouldn't have taken Paul to rub someone up the wrong way! She then changes tact to ask if they've found anything in their conspiracy theories (no) but can sense they aren't exactly being truthful, so reminds them that they need to go to the police if they come up with something new.
Ramsay Street
Susan has just delivered the news to Sarah and tells Karl that she isn't happy! Karl reasons that she is just in shock because it's came to a head and thinks that Sarah might thank them when she calms down but Susan isn't convinced and thinks they've failed Sarah. Karl heads back out to look for Angus after telling Susan to go inside and start calling.
KARL: One of us has to get lucky.
Off Air
Xanthe/Ben think they've missed Angus but he suddenly appears from behind the bar as they were talking about him! He explains that he needed some thinking time and found that in the bar.
Number 30
Sonya is struggling to get over how good Zoe is taking the news that she isn't a match as they chat. "Life's too short... literally," Zoe reminds her and is pleased she's now got a big sister to talk things over with.
Off Air
Angus is planning on doing a bunk to Bali using his frequent flyer points and Ben/Xanthe think quickly to try and prevent him from taking off... well at least until he's given them their cash!
Number 32
John heads into the kitchen to make Paige a cuppa but has another flashback (a big one) to the explosion as the kettle boils and let's fall the mug he was holding.
(Later)
As they clean up the broken mug, John is adamant that he was in the Lassiters boiler room and that the boiler was damaged. He gives Paige a 'get out of jail' card if it's too much for her but she replies that it's too big for both of them and that its time they told someone else, but safe, that he can talk it through with.
The Waterhole
John meets a priest in the bar unsure whether he's done something similar in the past or not. The priest encourages him to say what's on his mind.
Number 30
Sonya and Toadie are still discussing what to do. She wants Nell go get tested as there is no harm in doing that, but Toadie is already thinking one step ahead and doesn't like the thought of what Nell will have to go through to donate if she is a match especially given she's already scared of hospitals. Sonya gets that but is also fearful at the prospect of Zoe dying. Deciding they are getting nowhere, Sonya calls a halt to the discussion so they can start fresh tomorrow.
The Waterhole
John tells the priest about the flashbacks to being in the boiler room moments before the explosion and can only conclude that he was the one responsible.
JOHN: I caused the explosion, I caused those deaths.
The priest asks about Paige and John tells him that she's a total rock and that he doesn't know what he'd have done without her.
JOHN: Some stupid reason, she thinks I'm worth her time. I just wish I could be sure I was the man that she seems to see in me. She deserves more.
PRIEST: What does she deserve?
JOHN: Happiness? A life lived in the light.
The priest tells him if he wants that, he's to come clean with the police and tell them everything... which he thinks John already knows.
Karl spots Sheila to see if she's seen Angus (no) and then Ben (no) and when he explains why he's looking for them, suggests they're probably with Xanthe until he says she's with them. Sheila thinks the lassie has simply distracted the boys and they're probably all at #26 but just as Karl tells her the place is in darkness, she gets a visitor - the newly paroled Gary! "So where's my girl? Where's Xanthe?" he asks.
Off Air
Angus is sitting at a table talking to Xanthe while Ben is behind them sitting on a stool at the bar. The lad is still insisting he's off to Bali but he won't get very far as Ben has snaffled his passport from his backpack! He does wish though that Sarah had just abandoned him as then it would mean she wasn't sick.
ANGUS: I just want her to be okay.
Ben has another rake in Angus' bag and finds an envelope of money, more than was raised from the busking and when he confronts Angus, the lad explains he found it underneath the bar. Ben isn't amused at him stealing from Karl especially after all that he's done for Angus but he just thinks everyone will be better off when he leaves and suggests doing a deal with them over the $5k - they split it so he can leave the country and they get a bit of breathing space from Tom.
Number 30
It's the middle of the night and Sonya has risen and after briefly tidying up the mess in the house, makes a call to the hospital to make an appointment to get Nell tested.
Police Station (next day)
As he's about to go to the station, John has more flashbacks to being in the boiler room. Rather appropriately the music accompanying this scene is called 'Don't fight it' and he does just that, gives up the fight and enters the station.
