Previously on Neighbours
- Aaron being hired as Sonya's PA.
- Steph instructing Toadie to start the mediation process.
- Terese furious at Paul ripping off the Lassiters logo for his motel.
- Someone sabotaging the air con at Lassiters.
- Paul/Terese being trapped in his office and the lights then going out.
Erins Burrow Motel
Paul and Terese have at least a 2 hour wait for someone to come and release them from the hot room they are trapped in. He suggests that she calms down and relax (having given up trying to attract attention by banging on the door after Paul said nobody will hear her in this part of the motel) but she doesn't think that will be possible!
Cue titles!
The Waterhole
Aaron has persuaded Sonya to look more mayorish by having her wear a trouser suit rather than her normal attire but she doesn't think the change of clothing will have any affect, plus Sonya looks rather uncomfortable wearing them in the heatwave they're experiencing just now. He reassures her that he'll take care of the social media stuff to let her concentrate on her job.
It would appear that the whole of Erinsborough has been hit but a power cut as both Steph and Lauren are concerned for their respective businesses and how much loss there will be if power isn't restored soon.
Toadie arrives to tell Steph that the mediation session is going to take place in the afternoon and dismisses her suggestion of asking for a postponement (nervous) because it wouldn't look good especially since she was the instigator.
Number 26
Kyle and Amy have retreated indoors as the spa is too hot to be in. Jimmy texts to say they've been let out of school early and he'll walk home after going to the complex with his mates but Amy decides to head off and get him, putting a dent in Kyle's plans for some 'alone' time!
Erins Borrow
"I'm melting," Terese whines and almost reluctantly agrees to go have a shower (like Paul has just done), fearful that he'd want an 'afternoon delight'.
Harold's café
Josh is telling Susan/Karl how much he's looking forward to going up to Brisbane to see his daughter but isn't looking forward to leaving Doug. They volunteer to help keep an eye on him beginning today with Susan taking Doug to the nearest air conditioned mall as they can see he is struggling in the heat (just like they are too - Karl has even had to take his wedding ring off due to his fingers swelling up).
The Waterhole
Steph realises that she's out of meds just as Sonya/Aaron enter the bar talking about how great she did at the meeting. Sonya volunteers to go to the chemist but Aaron vetoes that as she's got another meeting to attend, however Tyler agrees to go for her and she gives him all that is required.
Lassiters Complex
Doug declares that Susan's car is ready to go after topping up the radiator.
Jimmy's football ends up in the lake after Tyler kicks it a bit too forcibly and as he looks up, sees the same woman that ran into Karl as he was exiting Harold's.
Erins Burrow Motel
Paul gives Terese the bad news that Steph won't be coming to the motel today as she is working in the bar then has a meeting to attend. He then confesses to sabotaging the air con at Lassiters due to desperation in wanting the motel to succeed because he hates being broke/powerless. Terese can empathise with him having been there too and tells him that she admires his ambition. To Paul's relief she doesn't plan on dobbing him into Julie because that will just give the game away that she's been talking to him!
The Waterhole
Tyler is back but without the meds as apparently there has been a screw up somewhere much to Steph's frustration, which she quickly apologises for and gives him a wet (if not cold) drink on the house.
Road somewhere
Susan has broken down with an overheated engine despite Doug checking it before they departed. As they chat, Doug confirms he topped the radiator up and adds he also checked the oil levels. Susan now wonders if he actually topped up the oil instead but doesn't make a big issue of it, saying they'll just wait until it cools down and try the engine again.
Harold's Store
Josh/Lauren finish throwing out the food that needs to be thrown away and just as he is about to head home to pack, Amy/Kyle arrive to see if they've see Jimmy. Neither of them have and Lauren thinks he might have headed to a mates house but they rush off after Tyler comes in and says he saw Jimmy down by the lake after kicking the football too hard.
Lassiters Complex
Kyle/Amy spot Jimmy's bag and football but there's no sign of the lad himself. "Don't panic," Kyle says to Amy but she's fretting more because he's out in the heat without his water bottle (it was in his bag).
Road somewhere
"She's dead," Doug declares after Susan tries and fails to start the car. Her phone refuses to work also because it's too hot and as nobody has been passed since they broke down, Susan decides they will need to walk to get help, taking their only remaining bottle of water with them.
Erins Burrow Motel
Being stuck in an enclosed room (and with the heat) is reminding Terese of how terrified she was being trapped in the fire at the school and of Brad taking Lauren out. "I wouldn't have left you behind," Paul tells her and admits he doesn't know how Brad could have either. He tries then to stop her feeling self-conscious about her scar and talks to her about the phantom pains that he gets after losing his leg. "Did you grieve when it happened?" she ask and he says yes but you've got to move forward. Terese isn't quite ready to do that and he says that she shouldn't feel ashamed or embarrassed.
PAUL: That pain that you went through, that's given you a vulnerability, a softness and you know that combination of strength and fragility, it's really quite beautiful.
The Waterhole
Kyle comes in for a cool drink and to ask Steph to see if she's seen Jimmy as he is missing. She's not and Kyle's searched everywhere that she's suggested. Everything seems to be getting on top of Steph and she suddenly becomes emotional, with Kyle showing immediate concern than he watches on as she leaves the bar to head to Anson's Corner.
Somewhere
Jimmy and the lady he saw earlier are walking somewhere and the only thing he seems concerned about is the fact he left his bag behind and thinks they should go get it.
Road somewhere
Doug/Susan are struggling in the heat as they walk to safety and Doug hasn't realised that he's let their only bottle of water fall after he's taken a drink.
Erins Burrow Motel
Terese is blissfully happy at Paul rubbing an ice cube over her and when he stops, she turns and looks into his eyes.
The Waterhole
Steph walks back into the bar and tells Toadie that she's been out looking for Jimmy but hasn't found him. He wants them to get going to the community centre for the mediation but before they go, she tells him that she's out of meds (the pharmacy in Anson's Corner didn't have them). She tries to reassure him that she will be okay and will be fine as long as he stays calm.
Somewhere
Jimmy has run away from the woman and sprints between the trees.
Road somewhere
Doug stops walking to say he's thirsty and to ask Susan if she's got water but when he turns round, we see that Susan has collapsed on the road.
The Waterhole
After a drink of water, Steph and Toadie head out of the bar to the mediation.
Erins Burrow Motel
Terese decides she's had enough of looking into Paul's eyes and leans forward to kiss him and he's not holding back from responding to the kiss and they start seriously pashing each other!
Unmissable drama
- Karl discovering the woman he met in Harold's (and who went off with Jimmy) and ordering an ambulance.
- Susan still lying unconscious on the road.
- Doug telling Imogen about going for a walk but can't remember if he was with someone.
- Josh turning up at the motel.
- Steph being forthright with Phillipa
