In the corridor outside the room she's staying in with Ben, Piper looks tearfully at all the text messages from her family.

The Waterhole
Terese tells Brad that his mum, Pam, has called for an update on the kids. Brad says he wishes he didn't have to tell Pam that Piper was missing, as she's got enough to deal with with his dad Doug's Alzheimer's. But Terese says they had to cover all avenues.

Rose & Thistle Motel / The Waterhole
A tearful Piper bites the bullet and calls Terese, while Brad listens in.

TERESE: Piper, where are you?
PIPER: Hi, Mum. How's everything there?
TERESE: We're worried sick about you. What's going on - are you still with Ben?
PIPER: Yeah. We're together. How are you - how are the burns?
TERESE: Yes, I'm fine, darling. But we want you to come home - we need to talk about what happened.
PIPER: No, I can't. I just wanted to hear your voice. But I can't come home. Okay, I love you.
TERESE: Piper - Piper, wait!

But Piper hangs up, and leaves for her fruit-picking shift - while in the bedroom, Ben is still writhing in agony on the floor. He tries to get up, but collapses again.

Harold's Café
Toadie comes in, just as Amy is leaving. She says she's meeting Kyle for a drink, and asks Toadie to come and join them - but he's got a meeting, so can't. Toadie asks Amy if she's seen Steph, and how she's doing. Amy says she's a lot better than a few weeks ago, when people were wrongly accusing her of kidnapping Jimmy and burning the school down.

Toadie says it's great that Amy always seems to take Steph at face value, despite Paul's views. Amy says Paul doesn't pick her friends, and that she likes and trusts Steph.

AMY: People recover from mental health issues all the time. And if she keeps doing as well as she has been, she could come back for good - and eventually get to see her boy. I really want that for her.
TOADIE: Yeah, me too.

Erinsborough Hospital
Karl sees Steph coming out of the hospital, and stops her to chat. She says she's just been to get the doctors to check her dosage, and has asked the psych facility to refer her to Erinsborough Hospital from now on - although she's still on day release from the facility.

Karl notices a toy plane in Steph's bag. She admits she saw it in a shop window and it reminded her of Charlie, so she bought it to remind her of why she needs to get well - and hopefully she'll get to give it to him herself one day. Steph asks after Ben; Karl hasn't heard anything, but at that moment gets a call from Terese, telling him they've heard from Piper. While he talks to Terese, Steph is surprised to see Belinda heading towards the hospital...

The Waterhole
Nate is organising an interstate pool competition, under the instruction of Sheila (Not In This Episode). Daniel agrees to represent Queensland.

NATE: Queensland! Beautiful one day, cyclone the next!

Nate then approaches Shay, asking her to represent New South Wales. Kyle and Amy come in, and Amy looks awkward as Shay kisses Kyle, and there's much banter as everyone teases everyone else about their Aussie state affiliations. Kyle agrees to play for Victoria, but Amy looks uncomfortable and says she has to head off and relieve Sheila from looking after Jimmy (also Not In This Episode).

AMY (to Shay): You'll have to defend our fair state without me.

No 28
Susan, Karl, Brad and Terese identify the motel where Ben and Piper are staying on a map of the area. (Apparently Imogen, who is Not In This Episode, has been able to hack into Piper's phone tracking account, allowing Terese to pinpoint their location.) They all head off to look for them.

Erinsborough Hospital
Steph waits outside the hospital for Belinda to emerge, then confronts her about why she's there. Belinda claims she had a job interview for a nursing position.

STEPH: You don't want to be here. You don't even want me here.
BELINDA: I know that's been my stance in the past. But I've had some time to think - and breaking up over this is a huge mistake.
STEPH: You don't trust me. I told you I was still taking my meds and you didn't believe me.
BELINDA: And I'm so sorry...
STEPH: Do you know how damaging that is? When the closest person to you has no faith in you?
BELINDA: But I do. Which is why, since I can't change your mind about starting over in Erinsborough, I'm gonna try and make a life here too. To support you, and be with you. I love you, Steph. I want you back.
STEPH: I dunno how I feel about this.
BELINDA: That's not the reaction I was hoping for.
STEPH: It's just - it's too...
BELINDA: Talk to me.
STEPH: I can't take you back. At least, not now. Not until I can stand on my own.
BELINDA: And if the stress is too much? If you relapse?
STEPH: I am not relapsing! And even if I did, I would have to learn to recognise the symptoms and manage them on my own. Now please, stay away from me!

Steph walks away.

The Waterhole
The pool competition has kicked off; Daniel plays Shay, as the interstate jibes continue. Kyle asks why Nate isn't playing himself.

NATE: Because I'd thrash you all too easily. I'm happy running things from the sidelines. Just like WA, you know? Props up the rest of the country without getting any credit.

Amy prepares to leave, telling Shay to 'Go New South Wales!' But Kyle points out that Amy grew up in New Zealand for a few years, so should represent the Kiwis in the competition.

KYLE: They're basically part of Australia anyway!
AMY: New Zealanders would rather sink into the ocean than be considered Australian.
DANIEL: Oh, sounds like you have something to prove, Amy.

Shay seems mildly uncomfortable with the idea of Amy staying, saying it's an interstate comp, not an international one. Latching onto this, Amy decides she is going to stay after all, to defend New Zealand's honour.

No 30
Steph visits Toadie, explaining what Belinda said about moving to Erinsborough. Toadie is suspicious, saying maybe Belinda just doesn't like Steph being beyond her control - reminding Steph of how she caught Belinda snooping in her bag to check her meds. But Steph says she knows Belinda was only acting out of concern.

TOADIE: Are you thinking about taking her back?
STEPH: No, no. No, I can't be around her right now.
TOADIE: So you don't still have feelings for her?
STEPH: Yeah, I do, but it's - no, it's not that. Lately, things have been happening, Toad. Things that just don't make any sense.
TOADIE: Like you thinking you got that phone call from Charlie?
STEPH: Amongst other things. I think I'm starting to get sick again, Toad. I think I'm losing it.

The Waterhole
Daniel and Nate chat at the bar, following Daniel's elimination from the pool comp. Daniel admits that he hasn't been himself recently, but now he's working for Paul on the real estate job, it seems to be helping. Daniel admits he wanted to scare Paul by leaking his dodgy dealings to the West Waratah Star, but that he didn't think about the repercussions - and since he's lost his job as mayor, Daniel isn't going to let him lose everything else too.

Meanwhile, the pool comp continues. Kyle is playing a match, while Amy distracts him with Aus-NZ banter.

AMY: Nice shot. I guess you spend a lot of time inside practising, because it's always raining down here.
KYLE: Bagging out the weather - how original!
AMY: Oh, you think you can steal the championship? Like you stole Crowded House, and Russell Crowe, and pavlova...
KYLE: Good old Aussie pav? Right, you've gone too far!

Kyle wins, and gets a kiss from Shay as reward! Amy looks briefly upset, but regains her composure and challenges Kyle to the next match.

Rose & Thistle Motel
Ben is still on the floor, and in a bad way, when Piper comes back from her fruit-picking shift. She hurries to his aid, helping him to sit upright. She says she earned $30 today, but that they'll need to earn a lot more in order to keep paying their way. Piper also admits to calling Terese earlier. Afraid they'll track her location, Ben says they have to leave straight away. Piper tries to persuade him to calm down, and gives him a chance to pull out of their decision to run away, in light of his physical condition - but Ben is adamant that they have to stick together.

No 30
Steph is telling Toadie about how Tyler took the customer Cecillia's word over hers when she claimed not to have asked for new brake pads. Steph is starting to wonder whether she did in fact imagine Cecillia asking for them, but Toadie says it's possible that Cecillia was simply dodgy and didn't want to pay for the parts, among other explanations.

However, Steph is also worrying about the other strange incidents of late - the call from Charlie, and her hearing Greensleeves playing at the garage. She says she's on the right dosage of medication, and that she had the doctor check them today. But she still thinks she's relapsing.

STEPH: It's too much of a coincidence. I'm losing it.
TOADIE: Don't say that.
STEPH: If I have another psychotic break, my whole life will fall apart again. It just feels like I'll never be free of it.
TOADIE: We may have spent a few years apart, but I still know you better than anyone else. And don't forget, I saw you the last time you fell over. I don't see that same person. You're not losing it, Steph. Not this time.
STEPH: So how do you explain everything that's been happening?

Rose & Thistle Motel
Ben and Piper are preparing to leave, when there's a knock at the door. Piper admits it's a taxi driver - she's called a cab for Ben so that he can go to hospital and get checked out. Ben's angry, saying if he goes to hospital, people will find out who he is and alert his family. But Piper points out that that's better than dying on the floor. She adds that she's going to go home to her family, as Terese needs to concentrate on getting better, not worrying about her.

BEN: We've really messed up, hey?
PIPER: Yep. Now we have to go home and face it.

The Waterhole
Nate does his best sports commentator voice as Kyle and Amy face off in the pool competition. On the final shot, Kyle pots the white, and Amy is victorious. Shay suggests they all head into The City to continue their evening, but Amy isn't up for it - so they decide to stick around for a little longer so Kyle can buy her a victory beer. Amy and Shay glance awkwardly at one another.

Fitzgerald Motors
Steph and Toadie go on a late-night reconnaissance mission at the garage, to hunt for clues as to how Steph could have heard Greensleeves. Sure enough, Toadie finds a Bluetooth speaker concealed in a box under one of the workbenches. He explains someone could have played music through it using a phone, standing in the alley behind the garage or sitting in a nearby car.

TOADIE: The point is, Steph, you are not losing your mind. Someone is messing with you, though.

Indoors somewhere / Fitzgerald Motors
We see Belinda looking at a picture of her and Steph on her phone, as Steph and Toadie's dialogue from the garage continues to be overlaid.

STEPH: Nah, Belinda wouldn't be that cruel.
TOADIE: Belinda has been trying to get you to leave Erinsborough. And now it hasn't worked, she's suddenly moving here?

We cut back to the garage.

STEPH: Amy! I told Amy about the music.
TOADIE: No, no, no. Amy's not manipulative. And she has zero reason to hurt you.

Back to wherever Belinda is, and we now see her looking at a picture of Steph and Toadie on her phone.

STEPH: Yeah, well Belinda loves me. And she wouldn't hurt me either.

Toadie says to Steph that they should find some more evidence - and that if it points to Belinda, Steph must take action. Steph nods reluctantly in agreement - while somewhere else, Belinda is crying.

The Waterhole
Having told Amy to think about joining them for a night on the town, Kyle, Nate and Daniel take their glasses to the bar, leaving Amy and Shay alone together.

SHAY: You're quite a shark!
AMY: Sorry?
SHAY: On the pool table.
AMY: Honestly, it was pure luck that I won. Don't tell Kyle I said that.
SHAY: So, are you heading into The City?
AMY: Oh, it's been a while since I've been clubbing.
SHAY: We'll probably just go to a few bars. People don't really club anymore.
AMY: You know what? Bars, clubs, it's not really my scene anyway. Do people still say 'scene'?
SHAY: Probably! But I get it, why you'd want to stay away. Lots of hot young things in expensive clothes - not exactly the ideal place for daddy-shopping, is it?
AMY: Sorry?!
SHAY: Kidding! We'll just pick a place that's more relaxed - you'll fit in fine.

The boys return, ready to leave, but Amy isn't hanging around for any more passive-aggressive pops from Shay, so announces she's heading home. Shay, Kyle, Nate and Daniel head off to hit the town.

Rose & Thistle Motel
Brad, Terese, Susan and Karl arrive at the motel and quickly find Piper. She says that Ben's in a bad way with his rib pains and breathing, so she's sent him to the local hospital in a taxi. Susan and Karl rush off to see Ben, leaving Piper alone with her parents. She apologises for running away, admitting it was her idea.

PIPER: I just couldn't face you guys. Not after what I did to you.
TERESE: Look, we'll talk about it later.
PIPER: But it's my fault that you got burnt. I dared Ben to light the paper and set off the alarms.
TERESE: Look - all that matters is that you're safe.

Terese hugs Piper.

No 30
Toadie is on the phone to the Bendigo psych facility, and reports back to Steph afterwards. He says nobody there has seen Belinda act untoward, so they can assume she's in the clear unless they find evidence to the contrary. Steph is relieved about that, but Toadie then admits that Steph's case manager has told him that someone has rung up asking questions about her psych history etc.

TOADIE: Of course, they couldn't tell them anything.
STEPH: But whoever's behind that request could also be behind all the weird stuff that's been happening, right? Did they say who it was?
TOADIE: ...
STEPH: Toad!
TOADIE: Vanessa Villante.

Steph looks shocked.
