- Tyler kisses Paige; she says she doesn't have those feelings for him.
- Mark says he wouldn't mind having kids
- Sue Parker is busy texting as Susan and Brad enthuse about a student sleep- out
- The Willis family go through the "Piper jar" of happy memories. Later, Piper smashes it.
Terese comes downstairs to see what happened and Piper says she dropped the jar. Terese offers to get a new one, but Piper says it's fine: she's got all the memories in a plastic bag.
Aaron is taking a coffee cart to the sleep out. Mark is impressed that he's being an entrepreneur.
AARON: Yeah, well, if I can't dance, at least I can hustle.
Paige appears in Aaron's shirt. The others (Nate is there as well) agree that Mark's taste in fashion is more boring, or "conservative". Tyler arrives as Mark sweeps Paige off her feet and the shirt drops open... He then overhears Aaron asks Mark if he's talked to Paige about having kids. He's going to bring up it up gently so as not to scare her off.
Brad and Susan are discussing the sleep- out. Susan has some petitions to hand out, and Sheila is also involved...
BRAD: So she's volunteered the volunteers.
SUSAN: Yes, so say no at your own peril!
Susan leaves, and Terese arrives and tells Brad that she thinks Piper broke the jar deliberately. Brad agrees that they should talk to her together.
Susan is impressed that Aaron is supporting the school by doing coffee: "one for all and all for one". Nate is not:
NATE: Shouldn't that be all for me and none for them? You're cashing in on this, aren't you?
He points out that it looks like Aaron is donating his profit when he isn't.
Sheila arrives in army fatigues. She shouts at someone to get to work.
NATE: I used to have a sergeant major like that. Very scary.
Susan tells her that it upsets her that the students won't be able to finish their VCE studies. Sheila says lots of people don't finish school.
Brad and Terese asks Piper if she's OK. She claims that she just dropped the jar. Terese says they still love her, and they don't know what's been happening in her life. Brad butts in and says he's sure Piper would have mentioned any major issues. Terese tells her she can tell them anything.
PIPER: OK, guys, I'm 16, so sorry, you don't really get to parent me now.
How rude. She strops off.
Meanwhile, Miss Psychic, aka Paige, tells Lauren that Piper is fine and Terese is playing games. Lauren says that Terese seemed concerned.
PAIGE: Hmm, she's using it as an excuse to get back at dad.
LAUREN: Listen, Terese is a good mother. She is devoted to her kids. If her instinct's telling her that Piper needs help, then Brad's right to go to her.
PAIGE: No offence, Mum, but you're being pretty naive.
LAUREN: No offence, darling, but I'm being understanding.
No offence, Paige, but you're being a (something which would be a staff edit).
Tyler walks in, and accidentally knocks Amber's photos of her table. He sees the photos she took of Paige with him, and her and Mark.
AMBER: The photos don't prove that you're a better couple than Paige and Mark.
TYLER: A better couple? Me and Paige?
Amber asks him to forget she said anything, and rushes off, leaving Tyler with the photo. He looks thrilled at the idea.
Aaron says that Tyler was acting weird earlier, like he didn't want Paige around. Nate suggests it's the opposite and he really likes her.
Susan thanks Josh for helping. He tells her he regrets leaving school and he wants to make sure they stay open. Sheila overhears.
SUSAN: We all know that if you don't finish, you have less options.
Actually, anyone who finished, ought to know that it should be "fewer options".
Sheila shows Susan her poster, and Susan makes a suggestion. Sheila says she probably stuffed up because she didn't finish high school.
Terese and Brad are arguing. She claims he's trying to make it a competition, saying he had a special bond with Piper because he chatted online, whereas she called her every week. She says she loves Piper as much as he does. He agrees that she's right about Piper, but doesn't know what they can do. He gets a text from Lauren, but says he'll stay until they've sorted things out.
Sheila tells Susan that she never had the chance to finish school and now it's too late to become a mature student. Susan assures her it's never too late.
Tyler is looking at the photo of him and Paige, and there are flashbacks to them at the garage and TTEOLARCW™ in the well. Paige arrives, and he quickly starts doing the books. She apologises for earlier. He says it's fine, adding that probably soon she and Mark will move out into a love nest and make lots of baby Brennans.
TYLER: Why not? You don't want kids?
PAIGE: Yeah, but in like ten years.
She leaves and he looks at the picture again, smiling happily.
Piper apologises for earlier, then admits that she broke the jar on purpose. She says that it made her feel excluded, since the rest of them were a family without her. Brad and Terese say that it was meant to show how much they were missing her.
BRAD: If we ever made you feel neglected or ignored, that was completely unintentional.
Tyler tells Mark he should tell Paige how he feels about having kids. He doesn't think it's a good idea: she's only 21.
TYLER: She's young but it doesn't mean she's immature. (Hahahaha.)
MARK: I never said she was immature: I just don't want to scare her off.
TYLER: Your girlfriend not mine.
Mark asks Tyler's advice, so Tyler says he'd want to know if they had a future.
Susan and Sheila are discussing study options. Aaron and Nate come in, and Aaron says he's taken $300, which still leaves him in profit after costs. Sheila says it will go straight into the fund and Susan thanks him for his generosity. Aaron looks worried.
SHEILA: Exploiting a fundraising appeal for personal gain is the lowest of the low. I don't think Aaron would do that, would he. Would you, Aaron?
Reluctantly, Aaron hands it over, as Sheila tells him to let it go.
Paige comments to Mark that they don't have much time to themselves any more. He says that he hope they can get a place of their own one day. He asks her how she feels about having kids.
PAIGE: I'd like to say yes, but after my babysitting experience, I don't think that I should.
He asks how she feels about having kids with him, maybe in a couple of years. She says it's putting pressure on her at her age, and she should be getting back to work. She assures him she's not upset, as she rushes off. He is disappointed.
Brad says he has to go. Terese thanks him for coming over, and he says she was right. They both get a text with a link to Piper's vlog, which they take as a peace offering. He tells her that he had a call from the bank, which reminded him that they needed to talk about their joint account, and their assets.
BRAD: Whenever you're ready. No rush.
Aaron comes home, telling Tyler that he hasn't made any money, so he's broke. Tyler suggests he ask Mark for a loan. Mark is in no mood for being helpful, and tells them he asked Paige "the baby question". Aaron is surprised, and Mark says he should have gone with his gut feeling. Tyler admits it's his fault: he advised Mark to be honest. He assures Mark that Paige will get over it, but Mark is not so sure. Aaron scowls at Tyler.
- Tyler tells Aaron he can't get Paige out of his head
- Aaron tells Tyler to leave Mark and Paige alone.
- Tyler tells Paige that Mark wants kids, she doesn't: end of story.
