Previously
- Naomi is appalled when she learns of Paul's plan to frame Josh for illegal peptide dealing
- Imogen declares that the Willis kids shall not visit the Turner house while Brad is there
- Agony aplenty for Terese as Brad crosses the street to live with Lauren
- Imogen is furious when she learns Piper has broken the pact to stay away from No 32
Ramsay Street
Imogen storms away from the Turner house, closely followed by Piper - who argues that Imogen and Josh pressured her into agreeing to the pact not to see Brad at No 32, when she didn't really want to.
IMOGEN: We should all be siding with Mum.
PIPER: Mum? Who was going to move us all into a hotel until she found out Dad was staying on the street?
IMOGEN: She changed her mind.
PIPER: She did it to make him suffer, okay? That's not cool either!
Brad and Lauren follow the girls out, but Imogen tersely tells Brad not to get involved. He tells her it's not fair to take out her anger at him on Piper, but Imogen is unrepentant. To make matters worse, Terese shows up and asks what's going on.
LAUREN: Maybe if you just give your sister a chance to explain herself...
TERESE: Hey, this is my family! You don't get to give the orders!
Sheila watches with interest as she brings Bossy home from a walk. Terese tells her daughters to come inside, rather than airing their dirty laundry in public.
No 22
Terese, Imogen and Piper come in. Piper reminds Imogen that Brad is still their dad, despite what he's done. Terese says no-one wants to stop her seeing Brad, but Imogen points out that she could've done it elsewhere. Piper says she wants nothing more to do with the 'stupid pact'.
TERESE: What pact?
Imogen explains that the siblings all agreed they wouldn't go to the Turners' while Brad was living there.
IMOGEN: Dad needs to understand that there are repercussions for what he's done.
PIPER: I think that was Mum's intention with us staying here.
TERESE: Yes, I guess it was. Listen - your father is still a wonderful and loving dad to you all. I don't want you punishing him on my behalf. You can all go and see him at Lauren's whenever you want.
No 26
Sheila enters the garden to find Naomi, who's back from her trip away. Naomi's on her laptop, and immediately announces that she needs 'really big changes' in her life.
SHEILA: Well, if you're talking about a trip to the hairdresser's, may I remind you of the time you thought a buzz-cut would be a good idea?
NAOMI: Well, I was, like, thirteen. How was I supposed to know I have such a weird-shaped head?
Naomi explains she's serious - her sojourn in Sydney has made her yearn for a new way of life. She reveals she's applied for a PR job with US Wrestling Inc, in Los Angeles.
NAOMI: I would be rubbing shoulders with some of my favourite big-name wrestlers...
SHEILA: Very sweaty shoulders.
Naomi says it feels like this is what she's been working towards. Sheila asks how Paul figures into Naomi's plan.
NAOMI: Well, I dunno.
SHEILA: Well he's been asking me every day have I heard from you, and when will you be back.
NAOMI: Mum - I said, I dunno.
The Waterhole
Tyler is reading a book on how to interview people for jobs. Paige turns up and sees the book; Tyler explains that Lucas has asked him to take care of the interviews for a new assistant at the garage. Paige gently mocks Tyler, evidently surprised that he's being entrusted with such a task.
PAIGE: Tyler, you might know your way around an engine - but interviewing people? That takes a whole different set of skills.
Paige starts rambling on about her extensive interviewing skills (in what context, it isn't clear) but it's obvious she's hurt Tyler by declaring him incapable, who snaps and says he doesn't need her advice.
PAIGE: Fine. Well good luck then - 'cause you'll need it.
She walks off, laughing, leaving Tyler looking upset.
No 32
Lauren tells Brad she's feeling guilty for piping up in the street before, and more generally for inviting him to move in. She says she's put him in a terrible position; but Brad says he'll just have to get hunting for a more permanent place to live. Paige turns up and asks why there's dry-cleaning floating in the pool; Brad explains the earlier encounter with Hurricane Imogen.
Paige explains that she's going to make a special dinner tonight to celebrate Brad's moving in, but Lauren says he was just about to go flat-hunting. Paige is disappointed that he's looking to live elsewhere so soon, but says dinner will be ready when he gets home.
PAIGE: Have I told you how great it is, you being here?
BRAD: Thank you.
But Lauren looks worried.
Lassiter's Complex
Naomi meets up with Paul, who's glad she's back in town.
NAOMI: I thought a lot while I was away.
PAUL: So did I.
NAOMI: I thought a lot about how long it's taken us to get to this point.
PAUL: Yeah, well, you know. If you hadn't been so persistent, we might never have ended up here.
NAOMI: You know - at the start, I watched you fight that illness, and it - I was overwhelmed by your dignity, and your strength.
PAUL: Well, you gave me something to fight for.
NAOMI: In the same way you fought for me with Josh?
PAUL: Alright, look. I admit that that was something I went about the wrong way.
NAOMI: No, see - you went about that in the Paul way.
Naomi says he lashed out at Josh rather than facing the pain that she'd caused him - in the same way as he attacked Naomi when Amy initially rejected him.
PAUL: Okay. Well if I'm so contemptible, why have you stuck by me, hey?
NAOMI: Well, I think, maybe... we've come to the end of the road.
Paul's demeanour shifts instantly.
NAOMI: We're actually very different people; I realise that now.
PAUL: Oh right, yeah, here we go.
NAOMI: I just think we both deserve to be with somebody who brings out the best in us.
PAUL: Don't - don't you dare put this on me. When we first got together, my gut told me we wouldn't last. So I set you free; I even encouraged you to go off with Mark.
NAOMI: I know, I know.
PAUL: And then you convinced me to take you back, and you go and throw it back in my face! You think you're better than me, don't you?
NAOMI: Please don't do this.
PAUL: Well you're not. You're just some scared, pathetic little girl who latches onto any man who'll pay her attention. You know, you manage other people's lives because you're completely clueless about your own. You don't know what you want. Well quite frankly, I'm glad to be rid of you.
Paul gets up and walks off, leaving Naomi shocked and tearful.
Later, a stressed Tyler is walking through the complex, talking on the phone to Lucas, when he runs into Daniel. Once he's finished the call, he tells Daniel about how he's doing the garage interviews because Lucas's kids are ill - and he's worried it's going to be a disaster. Daniel offers to give him some pointers, as he's interviewed loads of staff for Off Air. Tyler's grateful, and they head to The Waterhole to discuss it.
Meanwhile, Sheila comes to meet Naomi, who is still tearful after her encounter with Paul, and severely doubting herself. Sheila tells Naomi that whatever Paul said to her, she needs to ignore it. Sheila decides to take Naomi home.
The Waterhole
Terese comes and sits with Paul. He asks why she's looking 'so frazzled'.
TERESE: Why are you?
PAUL: I asked you first.
Terese tells Paul about her daughters' blow-up over Brad, and admits she's feeling responsible, since she decided to stay in Ramsay Street to make things difficult for Brad and Lauren. She also seems to be regretting that decision, saying she can't bear the thought of them being together. Paul, clearly very embittered following his split with Naomi, advises her not to think about it; all she should be worrying about are the kids, and her assets.
TERESE: Oh, well I'm glad you put them in that order!
PAUL: Listen to me - you need to be ruthless. And don't be swayed just because somebody, once upon a time, told you they loved you. Because that sort of sentimental rubbish means absolutely nothing when it comes to dividing the spoils.
Terese points out that she and Brad aren't divorcing, but Paul retorts that the situation seems pretty final to him.
No 26
Naomi is in the garden. Sheila comes out and tells her to stop feeling sorry for herself, and start preparing for her job interview. But Naomi's confidence has really been battered by what Paul said to her. Randomly, Sheila decides to lift her top and flash Naomi, to shock her into action!
NAOMI: Woah! What are you doing, what are you doing?!
SHEILA: Giving you a fright, trying to get your adrenaline pumping!
NAOMI: It's pumping, it's pumping - keep those puppies away!

Sheila embarks a rousing motivational speech, accompanied by a burst of Gustav Holst.
SHEILA: You are a Canning, for pity's sake. And Cannings do not crumble in the face of adversity. What would great great great great great grandfather Frederick say if he could see you right now, hmm? Seven years of hard labour in the colonies, just for stealing a single slice of bread. Being flogged every second day with a cat-o'-nine-tails. And he did all of that for you, Naomi.
NAOMI: Oh, no he didn't!
SHEILA: Yes he did! And he never gave up, because he kept his eye on the prize. Because he's a Canning; and Cannings Are Made Of Tough Stuff!
Sheila tells Naomi that this job is hers for the taking, and swears on Frederick's grave that she will get her to the interview.
The Waterhole
Tyler is practising his interview technique on Daniel, who thinks Tyler has got his strategy down to a tee. Tyler accuses Daniel of just being positive to make him feel better, and 'the same as Paige' - I.e. not believing that Tyler is up to the task. Accusing Daniel of being a 'fake cheerleader', Tyler stomps off out of the bar, leaving poor Daniel totally perplexed.
No 22
Paige has turned up to see Imogen and Piper. She invites them and Josh (who is Not In This Episode) to come to the special dinner she's preparing at the Willises'. Piper seems keen, but Imogen is having none of it.
IMOGEN: Paige, we all know that all you've ever wanted is for my dad to be with Lauren.
PAIGE: I know it might look like that, but all I want is to be around family that love each other. Okay, you're both my sisters - and that's not gonna change. I just thought that maybe we could put the anger aside for one night, and have a good time together. So will you come?
Piper gives Imogen a look, and Imogen sulks silently.
No 26
In the garden, Sheila is talking to Bossy.
SHEILA: If she doesn't get this job, it's not our fault!

Naomi turns up, and surprise, surprise - she's got the job! She and Sheila hug and scream with delight, as Naomi drops another bombshell - the wrestling firm wants her to leave for LA first thing in the morning! Sheila's smile strains...
The Waterhole
Daniel and Imogen come in for a drink, and see Terese sitting alone. Daniel suggests that Imogen go and hang out with her mum, as he knows she's worried about her. He also suggests that he doesn't stay over for a while, to give the family some space. Imogen calls him 'the best' and kisses him, before going over to join Terese.
Imogen's disturbed, however, to see that Terese is looking up family lawyers on her laptop, quickly concluding that she's thinking about a divorce. Terese closes the laptop, saying they don't have to think about that just yet.
Meanwhile, Tyler presents Daniel with a bowl of nachos, as a peace offering for losing his temper with him earlier. Tyler admits that Paige made him feel like he couldn't handle interviews; and ever-forgiving Daniel tells Tyler that they'll just have to show her that he can. They agree to have a drink together.
No 32
Piper has come round to join Brad, Lauren and Paige for dinner, and is helping to clear up afterwards. Brad reminds Piper that it's her first day at Erinsborough High tomorrow, so she should go and get some rest. Paige thanks Piper for coming and being so cool about things, as everyone bids her goodnight.
PIPER: See you tomorrow, Mr Willis!

Once Piper's gone, Paige laments the fact that Josh and Imogen didn't come over for her dinner. Amber (who is also Not In This Episode) has also bailed, but Lauren says she had an assessment due. Paige decides to head over to Mark's, leaving Lauren and Brad alone. Lauren says she's put some extra blankets in the spare room for him; but the sexual tension is crackling between them. Only barely resisting the urge to kiss, they bid each other goodnight, and Lauren goes to her room.
Power Street
The following morning, Paige is out for a jog. She stops by the garage to ask Tyler how his interviews are going. He says not well, adding that it has nothing to do with his interviewing technique. Paige apologises for yesterday, saying she didn't mean to put him down - and says the right person for the job will come along. She wishes him luck, and he smiles as she jogs off.
Ramsay Street
A limousine pulls up, ready to take Naomi to the airport for her trip to LA. Kyle and Sheila are there to see her off; and the limo driver introduces himself as Jesse Greene, Naomi's new executive assistant!
SHEILA: You poor boy - you don't know what you've let yourself in for!
While Jesse grabs Naomi's bags, Naomi gives Imogen, who has also turned up to see her off, a goodbye hug. Naomi also hands Imogen a brown envelope, containing a USB stick.
NAOMI: When I was Paul's EA, I networked my computer to his, so that I could work for him around the clock. Which was very unfair, but he expected me to do it. And I don't think he had any idea how to access that, let alone disable it, so...
IMOGEN: What exactly is on this?
NAOMI: A whole load of dirt. About time the world saw just how repugnant Paul Robinson can be.
Imogen looks uncomfortable, but Jesse calls Naomi over, saying they have to leave. She hugs Imogen again, and then Sheila and Kyle, before getting into the limo.
NAOMI: Oh my god, it's huge in here!
SHEILA: Give my love to Brad Pitt!
KYLE: Yeah, send me a t-shirt!
Sheila gets upset as the limo drives off, and Naomi pops up out of the roof, excitedly waving goodbye!
NAOMI: I get an assistant!!
Paul, who is just coming out of No 30, looks sad as the limo drives away.
Fitzgerald Motors
Tyler is sitting at the desk, waiting for his next interviewee, when she pulls up outside - in leathers, on a motorbike. She walks into the garage.
TYLER: Hi. I'm Tyler.
INTERVIEWEE: Hi, Tyler. I'm Steph.
And Stephanie Scully it most certainly is.
