Number 26 backyard
Sheila tells her daughter to stop being melodramatic over her reaction to seeing her and Russell in the hot tub. Russell suggests they should get out of the tub but Naomi is quick to say no before deciding to head inside herself. Sheila vetoes that idea telling him that they've been parents long enough, their kids are adults thus it's time for them "to have some fun!"
RUSSELL: You are one amazing lady!
Number 24
The Brennan brothers debrief what happened at the LGBTI fundraiser but all chat stops when Russell arrives home. While initially gobsmacked at his appearance (his hair is all wet), however when he explains where he was and with whom, they dissolving into a fit of laughter.
Ramsay Street (next day)
Toadie and Sonya decide to copy Paige and Mark by having a pash in the street before loading the car up for an outing.
Number 24
"Morning Casanova," Aaron greets Mark with after he stops pashing with Paige (due to having to go to work) and enters the house. He then jokes with him that he shouldn't let their dad see him pashing otherwise he might provide ideas for Russell/Sheila!
Russell comes through from his room to invite them to a meal at #26 that Sheila wants to host. The trio are then joined by Tyler who is after Mark's assistance to do some motorbike repairs. After Mark explains he can't help (working in the morning then helping at the childcare centre opening in the afternoon), Russell volunteers his services instead and Tyler is reluctantly forced to accept the help.
Harold's Store
Lauren tells Amber about some refurbishment she'd like to do at the store and Amber is all for it but doesn't want it to be put off until after the baby is born. Amber tells her mum and Paige (who has now joined them) about her next assignment - taking photos of the childcare centre opening and adds that thanks to her online friend, she is now starting to make money as a photographer. Lauren asks if she's thought of meeting Phoebe and Paige warns her about her experience but Lauren thinks that wouldn't happen due to the website Amber met Phoebe through.
Number 22
Aaron and Josh are rehearsing their routine when Josh sees a message on his computer (to Phoebe) from Amber asking them to meet.
(Later)
Josh has come clean with Aaron over the pickle he now finds himself in. He thinks he should tell Amber the truth but Aaron believes that would be crazy and instead gives him his spare mobile phone to allow him to text Amber on it.
JOSH: Are you crazy?!
AARON: Mate think this through, what's going to happen if Amber finds out the truth?
JOSH: She'll hate me? Maybe never let me see the kid?
AARON: Right but if you don't respond you're leaving Amber on her own. This is your only option.
Josh still doesn't want to do it but it's too late, Aaron sent Amber a text on his behalf! "Oh great, now I've no choice but to keep lying to her," Josh bemoans. "Mate, Amber will not get hurt if she doesn't find out," Aaron reassures him with.
The Waterhole
Naomi is fretting about the arrangements for the childcare centre opening but is relieved to hear Kyle and his apprentice can help set up the jumping castle (aka bouncy castle) to save some cash. When Sheila goes to discuss the catering options with her, she feels she's getting the brush off and comments about Naomi leaving the house early too. "Was the shock of finding Russell and I in the spa together just too horrifying?!" she asks her daughter. Naomi sticks with the trusted, "I don't have time for this," which Sheila thinks is her being given the hump.
Number 24
Russell and Tyler work together to sort out the motorbike parts while talking about Port Lincoln. Tyler accidentally knocks over the bottle of solvent they are using and when Russell goes to touch him (to reassure him that it's okay), Tyler immediately jumps back to avoid contact. Russell doesn't comment on it, instead reaches for the kitchen roll and instructs Tyler (nicely) to help clean up so Mark doesn't know.
Erinsborough Childcare Centre
The Community Centre has now been turned into a childcare centre and Naomi welcomes the patrons as they enter the building. She isn't so nice with her nephew because the jumping castle, while relocated, hasn't been inflated as there is a problem with the motor. "Figure it out and make it snappy," she tells him!
Meanwhile inside, Mark is enlightening the kids with his police accessories and can't skive off like Paige had hoped... well not for 10 minutes until his break time.
Amber snaps away at the kids having fun and comments to her mum that she hopes her little girl can run around like them one day. "I'm sure everything will be fine," Lauren reassures her with and is pleased to hear that Amber plans on getting a part-time job at the centre after the baby is born. Their attention is then drawn to the text Amber receives from Phoebe, something which she is overjoyed to receive and goes to call the number.
Number 24
Russell and Tyler celebrate sorting out the bike parts with a beer, and Russell suggests that since they got on well working together this morning, Tyler could move back in so they can continue the bonding. Tyler doesn't think it's such a good idea and Russell tries to reassure him that everything is in the past, but Tyler is coming from the lines of he needs to reconnect more with Mark and Aaron. Russell asks why he didn't tell them about what happened at Port Lincoln and Tyler replies that he didn't want his brothers to know that he was weak.
RUSSELL: Mate, you're not weak, you're the strongest of all of us, stronger than me anyway. When your mother left I fell apart and then Mark and Aaron... I took it out on you, that wasn't fair. I want to make it up to you but you've got to give me the chance. I want us to be a family again, don't you?
Erinsborough Childcare Centre
Sonya, Nell and Naomi watch on as outside Kyle struggles to get the jumping castle inflated.
Taking a break from dishing out the lamingtons, Sheila assures her rushing around daughter what a great job she is doing. Naomi then reassures her mum that she's happy that she's got a new bloke in her life and then tells her about the fight with Paul (hence why he's not going to be there until ribbon cutting time) but she's not to worry.
SHEILA: It's going to be fine, you two will be right as rain in no time.
NAOMI: Wow, this romance is clearly having a positive effect!
Toadie/Sonya catch the tail end of the conversation and Sheila explains all to them before leaving to go get lunch ready for Russell and the boys.
TOADIE: Is it just me or does it seem like everyone else is getting some action apart from us?
SONYA: Yes I know and I'm not happy about it either Jarrod.
Number 24
Paige wonders to Mark if Sheila will mind her presence at the family meal while the others prepare the dining table for Sheila's arrival with the food. Mark reassures her that it will be okay because she is part of the family.
Aaron comments that his dad must really like Sheila with the effort he's putting in to make the place look like a 'two hatted' restaurant. Russell explains that it's not just for her, it's for having the four of them together under one roof. "I reckon you're getting soft in your old age dad," Aaron teases him with and Tyler enlightens them by saying he's going to be moving back in, even if it is somewhat crowded! The brothers welcome him home with a ribbing and a threat to cut his ponytail off!
Harold's Store
Josh can sense Amber is a bit pre-occupied when he tries to discuss with her arrangements for the forthcoming glucose test and asks what the matter is. She tells him about making contact with someone from the parenting forum she told him about but they've not returned her call. Josh suggests that he should be the one to support her/each other but she fears that things would get too messy and spoil the good place that they are currently in if that were to happen. Reluctantly he accepts her decision and adds "I hope your friend calls," before secretly sending her a text (from Phoebe) when he goes to get a drink from the fridge. Amber is over the moon at getting the text where Phoebe explains that her boss gets cranky for taking personal calls.
Erinsborough Childcare Centre (exterior)
Now Kyle has finally got the jumping castle inflated, Naomi declares it open for business and the kids rush to get onto it. Kyle halts the rush temporarily by reminding the kids they've to take their shoes off first before hurrying to the rear of the castle when he hears the rushing sound of air escaping.
After checking Amy can babysit, Toadie surprises Sonya with the prospect of a night at Lassiters so they can spend some quality time together. "That's such a wonderful idea Jarrod," Sonya replies before kissing him.
Toadie breaks the kiss when he notices the wind starts to pick up... and looking over the wind has also picked up the jumping castle as it wasn't anchored into the ground. He then spots Nell's wellies and realising that his daughter is still in the jumping castle, rushes to it. Toadie tries to jump on the side of it but misses, instead landing with a thud on the ground.
Sonya sees her husband falls and leaves Nell (she spotted her in Naomi's arms as she ran towards the jumping castle) to rushes towards him and when she gets there, finds him lying sprawled and unconscious on the ground. She tries to rouse him but he's out cold and yells for someone to call an ambulance while Lauren decides that Nell shouldn't be watching and takes her inside.
Unmissable drama
- Susan asking what happened as she sees Toadie being stretchered into an ambulance.
- Sonya/Karl looking worried and Sonya asking Susan what happens if they can't fix him?
- Naomi worried about Toadie too and hoping that he is okay.
