Previously on Neighbours
- Terese deciding she's had enough of Ezra and quitting her job.
- Susan giving Brad the heads up about a new pupil... Ezra's son.
- Paige looking on jealously as Mark invites Naomi in for a coffee.
- Michelle informing Tyler that Paige is going to be working with him in the garage.
- Mark walking into the garage just as Paige/Tyler are arguing over who's the biggest tool.
Garage
After pulling an all-nighter, Tyler offers to cook Paige breakfast before she starts her shift at Harold's. Given the risk Mark could be at home, they work together on a cover story on the walk home.
Number 30
Just as he's about to head for work, Toadie spots a box lying outside the door and thinks its Sonya's Mother's Day pressie which has arrived late. Before she's allowed to open it, he warns her that it's different from other stuff he's bought for her but it "sums up perfectly how I think of you," and thus asks if she'll hold off opening it until he can come home at lunchtime so he can see her face when she opens it. She agrees to his strange request but will only give him until lunchtime!
After he's left, Sonya wonders what's in it and Nell starts singing 'Happy birthday' to her! So cute!!!
School
Susan confirms with Brad that he's okay about teaching Clem moments before he arrives and she introduces them to each other. "Seems like a nice kid," Brad comments after Clem heads to class and she warns him against making assumptions about what he's like based on his dad!
SUSAN: Not anticipating any problems?
BRAD: None at all. I won't treat him any differently from any of the other kids.
Police station/Lassiters Complex
As they exit the station/walk thought the complex, Mark's Sergeant talks to him about Dimato's chop shop. Mark thinks they can't be moving parts without the police knowing since everything is under so much surveillance. He questions if they're using a legitimate business as a front, which is the same idea the Sergeant was thinking about and so sends Mark off to check out the local garages/scrap yards.
Paige/Tyler get to use their cover story when Mark spots them after he talks to them briefly when he's finished with his Sergeant.
PAIGE: There's no way he bought that.
TYLER: I can read my brother. If he thought something was up I'd know, so just chill!
Number 30
Susan is intrigued by the parcel when she stops by to drop off the paperwork for the work experience pupils Sonya will be hosting. Sonya explains why it's not open but admits she is puzzled over what's inside. With a bit of 'help' from Susan, some of the tape just so happens to come off the box, enough so it can be opened and she pulls out a pink slanket (a blanket with sleeves). It is also somewhat on the large size (although could have come in handy prior to Christmas when Eve was pregnant!) and Sonya isn't amused, even when Susan suggests it will be comfy! It then dawns on Sonya that she isn't the yummy mummy she thought she was!
Number 24
Paige is impressed at the brekkie Tyler has created even if she moaned about having to half the costs for it! He warns her that there won't be any repeat performances though and both are startled when Mark suddenly appears home (he forgot some files).
Mark wants them to do something tonight and Tyler comes up with an excuse not to (meeting up with an old mate). When they talk about the garage, Mark lets it be known that they think Dimato's chop shop is still running thanks to an increase in car thefts and when he mentions the tip off to the car Paige reported, a very guilty looking Paige then decides she needs to head home pronto! "What's with her?!" Mark asks and Tyler tries to downplay it and suggests that she's simply tired after partying too hard.
School
Clem arrives early for class and after a brief chat with Brad about how his first day is going is told to take a seat while he finishes prepping for the lesson.
CLEM: Are you Mr Willis as in Brad Willis?
BRAD: One and the same.
CLEM: So you're married to that scrag Terese?
Brad can't believe what has just been said and want him to "say it again to my face." Of course Clem keeps his mouth shut this time and Brad makes it clear that whatever has happened between the three of them is nothing to do with him and doesn't want it brought up at school either. "Do I make myself clear?!" Brad asks but instead of getting an affirmative, Clem brings up that he'd heard Terese had quit her job because she "couldn't handle the pressure."
BRAD: Congratulations.
CLEM: For what?
BRAD: You haven't been in my class for two minutes and you've just earned yourself a lunchtime detention.
Harold's Store
"Do you want Mark to suspect something?!" Tyler asks when he finally catches up with Paige in the kitchen. He wants reassurance that she won't freak out again, something that she can't give him because they're "doing something crazy, illegal and the police are investigating it." Tyler tries to reassure her by saying the police don't know they're involved.
PAIGE: I wish I wasn't!
Tyler reminds her why she has to do this and tells her to keep her head down, do the work and she'll get through it. She wonders how he's so calm and his reply is that because they're involved, they just need to see it through. Paige thinks he's getting kick out of sneaking around right underneath his brother's nose, something he denies, which she isn't buying as she thinks he'd be hating himself at deceiving Mark. "I do," he exclaims but she hasn't come up with another solution yet to get them out of the situation they find themselves in.
Number 30
Toad is displeased that Sonya opened her pressie before he got home and she explains that curiosity got the better of her. Sonya lies that she likes what he's bought her and that it fits her. He asks if she'll model it for him and while he's working himself up into a frenzy (and closing the blinds), almost reluctantly she heads into their bedroom to retrieve it.
"That's not your present," Toadie declares after Sonya comes out wearing the extremely large slanket and it then dawns on him that there has been a mix up - Sonya has the pressie intended for Angie and she has the one intended for Sonya. Oops! And he is now in major panic mode trying to make sure his mum doesn't get the sexy costume intended for Sonya!
SONYA: How sexy is it?
TOADIE: Well let's just say that no mother should ever get that from her son...ever! Urgh!
Harold's Store
"Stop playing Mr Tough Guy and let me help you," Mark tells Paige after she accidentally cut herself when she saw him enter the store. "Fine," she reluctantly concedes and they head into the office to get the first aid kit.
School
Susan is surprised to see Clem on detention when she passes the only classroom and Brad asks for Clem to explain why but when prompted, instead of telling the truth, he tells Susan that Brad picked a fight with him before class. "That's a lie," Brad quickly replies and Clem continues the lies by saying Brad spoke badly of his father and he got the detention for defending his dad. Brad explains that it was Clem who deliberately tried to provoke him by mentioning Terese. With a face that could melt butter, Clem pleads that he didn't, so Susan sends him along to her office so they can discuss it in private.
BRAD: He's lying through his teeth.
SUSAN: So you didn't bring up Ezra at all?
BRAD: No, he brought up Terese, he called her a scrag.
That seems to put things in a different light but Susan asks that Brad needs to be professional. "Which is exactly what I'm doing," he points out and isn't too pleased to be told that since the versions of what happened differ, he'll need to fill in an incident report form.
SUSAN: Brad I have to follow procedure, especially following your history otherwise this is just going to come back and bite us.
BRAD: I understand.
Harold's Store
As Mark sorts Paige's finger out, he finally decides to ask what's going on as she's been acting weird and wrongly thinks its because she is now dating Tyler. She denies that they are dating as she couldn't go there after dating him.
MARK: That was ancient history.
PAIGE: I'm not dating your brother.
And to back that point up, she adds it's because he broke her heart when they split up.
Number 30
Toadie was too late in phoning his mum, she'd already got the pressie intended for his wife and tries to dig himself out of the hole he's in by putting the blame firmly on the company he ordered the stuff from. After finishing the call, Sonya wants to know which one he bought for her (she's looking at them on the screen) and describes it as "raunchy," when he points to the one he'd bought for her. Sonya is rather pleased when he explains that he bought it because he sees her as a yummy mummy although she points out they don't need things... moments before making a beeline to their bedroom, not stopping to close the front door even on the way!
School
Brad decides to be the better man and try and sort things out with Clem after he pulls him into the only classroom only to be told that he's not allowed to talk about it with him.
BRAD: Since when?
CLEM: Since I filed an official complaint against you.
BRAD: Why would you do that?
CLEM: It's pretty much what your wife did to my dad.
BRAD: Look, I don't know what your father told you about what happened.
CLEM: (interrupting) Save it, I'm not interested in your lies.
The Waterhole
It looks like Paige's words have gotten to Mark as he and Sonya talk about it as they enter the bar. Sonya tries to reassure him that Paige is a tough cookie and knows that he's a good person before going on to add that she thinks Paige/Tyler would make a good couple.
SONYA: Think about it, they're like the male and female version of each other.
Before Mark can admit that he'd be jealous of his brother dating Paige, Susan interrupts their chat to ask why Sonya isn't wrapped up at home in her slanket! "I'll tell you about that later," is Sonya's reply before Susan decides to be neighbourly and invite Sonya, Toadie, Mark and Tyler to dinner with Karl and herself. Mark replies that Tyler won't make it as he's out with friends, which puzzles her as she saw the lights on at the garage and looking like there was someone moving around inside. Mark is now the one puzzled and goes to call his brother.
